"I think...I found it..." Layla jumped up, pretty much squeezing herself through the bookshelf gap, her little wings fluttering wildly, trying to push herself further into the bookshelf.
"What are you doing?!" Kaylen cried.
"I'm trying to find it!" Layla's muffled voice replied.
"No idea..." Mitch replied. He jumped when the angel did, her movements not only startling him, but also setting his curiosity over the top. Oh, how he wished he could see what she was after!

"But that monster's gone... The man beneath him may be flawed, but we all are."
"Are you ok?" Kaylen asked.
"Yeah..." Layla's wings fluttered even more, pushing her even further into the darkness of the bookshelf. "It's stuck..."
"What's stuck?" Kaylen asked.
"The book I'm looking for," Layla's muffled voice said.
"What is this book about?" Kaylen breathed.
Layla looked at him. "I found this book back here last year. I learnt a lot about my kind. This book is about my species, the angels."
Mitch's eyes went wide at the angel's words. He'd have to make a mental note of where she put it when she was done with it. This could be just what their master was looking for! He glanced to Elvira, keeping his voice low. "Do you think this is what the Master wants?" He asked.

"Maybe. But just to be safe, we should still tell him what the angel does and whatnot," Elvira whispered back.
"So, why did you get it out?" Kaylen asked.
"You liked my harp playing, right?" Layla answered his question with a question.
"Yeah." Kaylen nodded.
"Well." Layla opened the large cover of the book and flipped through the pages. "Here." She pointed at a page. "To put what it says here briefly, when it angel plays a harp, it vanquishes evil, or darkness, kinda..." She leant down to the book. "It forced the evil spirits to retreat from heaven," she read. "Yeah."
Mitch nodded to Elvira, keeping his attention fixated on the angel and the book in her hands. Her words drew him in, and his eyes widened at this new knowledge he was gleaning.

Mitch silently cheered at the angel's words. If they couldn't rent the book, it meant she wouldn't be taking it... but he would. It shouldn't be so hard to steal it from the great library. He was used to such deeds.

Layla then snapped the book shut and dived back into the bookshelf, hiding the book.
"Wow..." Kaylen murmured. "I know a lot more about angels now."
Layla nodded. "Come on, let's go."
Mitch quickly pressed himself against the bookshelf, watching as the angel and her friend left. As soon as they were gone from the area, he darted around the bookshelf and glanced inside. He knew where the angle had been, but he hadn't been able to see inside the bookshelf. He'd just have to root around until he found the book. He hoped he didn't overlook it in his excitement.

"Calm down there Mitch." Elvira pricked up her ears. "I can hear them now, and Layla said they're not coming back until tomorrow, and the library is open 24/7."
Mitch rolled his eyes, annoyed, still searching the bookshelf. "I don't wanna forget where it is," he said, grunting as he pushed himself into the bookshelf, as he'd seen the angel do. "And they may not be coming back, but someone else could get a hold of it!" He wasn't about to leave without getting his hands on the book. He was determined to find it.

"No!" Mitch grunted, quite upset. He pushed a book aside and gasped. "Wait!" His eyes went wide. That was it! The book! He scooped it up and held it in awe. Slowly, he pulled himself out of the bookshelf and turned to Elvira, hardly able to believe that he now held the book in his hands. He looked to her. "This is it," he said, barley above a whisper.

Mitch read the page, growing excited. "So I was right... the harp is special." He glanced to Elvira. "But only if an angel is playing it. It's the combination of the two."

"You're gonna take it?" Elvira looked surprised. "But no one has been able to get a book out of the library before. Even I haven't tried cos I know they can find out almost instantly. Not that I'd want to steal a book anyway."
"We keep the book here." Elvira sat up in her chair. "Look, if the angel comes back to look at it, and it's not there, it's gonna be suspicious. Even if we hide it, she'll still get suspicious. She can't rent the book out, neither can we, so the book will stay here."
"Fine," Mitch said, turning back to the bookshelf to replace the book. He had to admit, it was a good idea, but he was frustrated that he didn't think of it. He turned back to Elvira. "So what? We read it, memorize it, and take that information back to the master?"

"Alright then," Mitch said, turning to leave the library. "When we're not watching them and have free time, we'll spend it here." He pointed back at the book. "Whenever you're done reading for the day, put a little mark on the top corner of the page, then we'll know where the other stopped reading, and we won't both be memorizing the same stuff. Get it?"

Mitch shrugged. "I don't know. Should we? The Master didn't say anything about when to follow them..." He yawned, stretching, suddenly tired for some reason. "But a break would be nice."

Mitch shrugged. "Whenever one of us has free time when we're not watching the angel, we'll have to come read it. Maybe over lunch, too, if we eat fast."
