Clicks are not vital for a dragon's survival, for example.
What you need for dragons is views and unique views, and even then dragons can survive with not that much. Clicks are extra pushes, more or less.

Rares however (Tinsels and Shimmers especially) require more than the common dragon to hatch and grow. These are the dragons that do tend to get clicked the most by people.

Here are some more sites to put your dragon eggs and hatchlings on, all with ERs as well.
EATW, Silvi's Lair, and Valley Sherwood.

That's quite some time, really. They get a week until they die if they don't hatch. You can still send it to day care though.

The eggs have to hatch for you to get more. I suggest the day care or ER.
