"So we have." Marrius states, taking a moment to gather her bearings. "We'll travel in this direction for a short time. Then we will reach my home."

Ooc: Yeah, that sounds good/correct. So! I would like for you guys to post what DnD alinment all of your characters would be, along with their sexuality. This is for the story. I will in next post.

Sashe: Lawful Evil. Bisexual.
Dregan: Chaotic Good. Homosexual.
Tima: Neutral Evil. Heterosexual.

ooc: Uh, I'll post up alignment but I have to ask why my characters' sexuality affects the story. While I understand that romance may be an interesting game play aspect, it doesn't seem entirely relevant at the moment.
Marrius Antenett: Chaotic Neutral, heavily leaning chaotic evil.
Elision De'Cartu: Neutral Good.

Ooc: Not at the moment. But it might be eventually!

Shadmé took a moment to scan the landscape as she walked. She noticed that it was flatter and clearer than the land they had just left, leaving her with a mixture of relief and longing. That was due to her mixed heritage- the Aetian in her enjoyed the open area, while the inner Dewl wanted to return to the darkness and rocky terrain. Shrugging it off, she looked up as Marrius spoke. Home for Marrius meant Psyche. Shadmé did not stop there often, and found she was anticipating what it would be like.

ooc: dungeons and dragons. If you've heard of or played pathfinder, the alignments are the same. Or if you've played any of the neverwinter nights games.

I planned on having Marrius live near the border, but far enough away that she didn't get many unwanted visitors at her home. And suggestions, as I don't have a map, AE?

Ooc: Psyche is thin in length, but quite wide. We are crossing through lengthwise, and as thus y can make it to where your home is decently close to the border, but also close enough to the Mushroom Field to scare away unwanted guests.

Shadmé, there are two scales:
Good----Neutral----Evil
and
Lawful----Neutral----Chaotic.

Choose from each scale.

Marrius begins to guide them to her home, as she does she turns with an inquisitive look to the others with her. "You look as though you're in an alien environment, Dark Angel. First time passing through Psyche I presume."

Sashe looks around, after noticing movement out of the corner of her eye. She realizes one of the small hills had moved several feet in their direction. "The hell!? That just moved!"

Marrius stops a moment, motioning sharply for the others to stop talking. She slowly mouths to the others, 'Mind-Eaters'.

"From the ground, it's my first time," Shadmé said to Marrius. She'd been to most of the countries...rather, flown over them. Walking through alien countries made her feel more vulnerable.
Of course, she didn't say anything else, as she noticed Marrius mouth something. Mind-readers? Mind...eaters?

Sashe apruptly shuts her mouth. Mind... Eaters? Fleeters? Eaters seemed more likely. She quietly lifts her staff, prepared for combat if need be.

The sounds the Mind Eater had been tracking stopped abruptly. The creature stopped, and listened. The shuffle of robes in the breeze... a staff being brandished? How fortunate. Spellweaver minds are always delicious.

Marrius visibly cringes as Sashe moves her staff and she moves again for her to be quiet before she focuses on channeling her mana as quietly as possible to the two others. Her eyes begin to glow their violet color as Rius projects her voice into their minds. "Don't make a sound. Mind eaters. As the name implies they devour the consciousness of sentient beings."

"Ugh. Must everything we meet attempt to kill us, decieve us, or eat our minds? How do we deal with this?" Sashe mentally asks the Puppet Master.

Mind eaters? Great. You won't catch me doing anything stupid. Shadmé trusted her reflexes if the thing were to attack, and for now she did not make any motions towards the bow strapped to her back.

The hill that Sashe spotted moving begins to travel in randomn directions. It abruptly stops a few feet away from the group. The hill tears open, a large creature popping out. It lacks a face, though it does have ears. It is vaguely humanoid; it hunches over, its shovel-like claws scraping against the ground, tentacles hanging from it's face. I hear your breath, little ones. Your fear is as loud as a million dying humans. Submit your minds to me! This message comes in a strange way; almost as if the three women had thought it themselves, though they knew they had not.

ooc: Marrius could attempt to be diplomatic... but that implies that she doesn't think that this thing just insulted her power by calling her food.

Marrius clicks her tongue irritably and places a hand on her hip, "Exaggeration is far worse than understating a situation. Submit? To you? Surely your joking." Rius says with clear annoyance in her voice as her eyes flash menacingly. "Step aside."

The resistance of the creature is obvious; however, it steps aside. As it does so, another hill bursts, revealing a slightly larger form of the creature. Del'Naan! Why must you be so hostile? However, young lady, we do not appreciate it when you dominate the minds of our clan mates. This ones thoughts sound distinctly feminine.

"Don't ask a question so redundant. Don't tell people to submit to them if you don't expect them to retaliate." Marrius states as she crosses her arms. She raises an eyebrow at the latter statement, "Let us pass unharmed and I'll have to need to do so."

That was my original plan. However, Del'Naan acted on hunger he has felt for weeks. We are attempting to force him into a state of dormancy as we speak, the new one explains.

Shadmé had watched the entire time, her hand on her bow handle. She could yank it free and fire it in a few seconds if she wanted. But to her surprise, Marrius was getting them out of the situation- no mind tricks, no violence. So she sat back and amused herself listening to the Puppet Master talk to the mind-eaters.

"Do what you must. But I do recommend feeding the younger one. Starvation doesn't simply stop if it's dormant." Rius stated, she then began to proceed on her path once more, "Keep him in check. I'm sure that you don't wish for me to have to deal with him."

The reason we haven't given him food is because we have been unable to find suitable prey for him. The rest of us have been feeding on the minds of lesser animals. Instinct with no emotion is less nourishing, and Del'Naan believes it to be shameful.

"I should have some less than worthy criminals being kept for my work." Marrius states as she walks. "If he is that desperate he may have one of those. Pride... That's something that is easily removed from the mind."

Are you suggesting what I believe you are suggesting? I'm sure he would rather eat one of your criminals. However, he would still need more nourishment after you've left our presence. But... the implications of your final statement. Would you be willing to remove his pride? The voice of the female sounds appreciative and inquisitive.

Marrius stops mid stride and turns back towards the creatures. Her lips tug at a small smile and she over exaggerates the motion of a mock bow. "Of course. Should you be as kind to restrain it.. It would only take me a few moments." Rius says as she stands up straight again, "It isn't necessary though. I can rip it out even if he thrashes about."

...We will do this, she states. She waves her hand in the air, and as she does so, several hills unceremoniously pop open. Several Mind Eaters walk over, their tentacles risen in the air. They glow with a purplish, otherworldly light. Del'Naan relaxes, his limbs hanging limply.

Marrius takes a moment to let her eyes pass over the creatures before she steps closer to them here eyes flashing. She'll say mentally to the two in her group, 'Should this be a trap, as it likely is, do burn these creatures to ash for me.' Rius steps within arms reach of the creature and begin her work. Slowly, precisely. After all what kind of re-educationalist would she be if she couldn't perfectly remove someones, or rather somethings, pride?

Shadmé folded her arms across her chest and nodded subtlety in response.

After around half an hour Rius stepped back from the creature. "Finished." She stated, her eyes dimming once again. She turned to the creature with the female voice. "He should experience nightmare, headaches, and maybe sensitivity to certain sounds. These are normal symptoms and they should pass." Marrius stated in an automatic fashion.

Sashe nodded her head, lowering her staff slightly. She advances toward Marrius. "Perhaps we should make our way to your home?"

The female kneels, bowing her head slightly. She then takes off a small adornment she wore on one of her tentacles. Have this. Know that any time you need us, we shall come to your aid. The jewelry-esque item is crimson in color, an open eye etched into it's center.

Marrius took the object taking a moment to observe it before she nodded to the creature. "Forgive me for cutting this short. I must be off." She said before she turn from the creature and continued towards her home.

Sashe briskly walks after Rius. She turns her head back to the creatures, eyeing them warily, imagining how various drugs and poisons would effect them.

"They were very trusting considering the evil creatures their magic has turned the people into. How very naive of them." Rius stated after a few moments. She then to motion towards a building in the distance. "You can see it now. My home."

Ooc: Because I'm completely insane, there may or may have not been a romeanceable character in that crowd.

ooc: Oh, interesting.

Sashe turns her head back to where the group of mind eaters had been. It seemed they were questioning the one Rius had performed mental surgery on. She then turns her head forward again, speeding toward the house.

"No, I didn't removed anything other than his pride." Marrius stated to Sashe, "Although your curiosity has been noted." The house was rather large for someone who appeared to live alone. It looked rather dismal from the outside, though.

"How interesting. You did say you could provide a low-life earlier? Could I... have one? For experimental purposes, of course," Sashe implores.
