well, basically that's it. you will also need to remove the original lightcore rfid wafer (the silver part on ther chip) and replace it with the normal flameslinger one

you mean ignitor? so, i get the wafer chip, and put it on my L ignitor's chip. got it. easypeasynotreally.

there are 2 parts, the wafer (that contains the character data) and the plastic chip that the led wires are connected to

you can only have 1 data wafer in a base so you will need to take off the lightcore wafer ... once you open up the base you will have more of an idea what is inside.

this is the first lightcore drobot wafer and chip that i cut out of a base ...

ok. i take off the big chunk of wires/plastic off from the metal, and how do i reattach it to my L ignitor?

tell you what ... first open a couple of bases then we'll take it from there

i dunt know who to open. maybe a cynder? i got 2.

Srry. I really need a good camera. It has glitter and sparkles in person. Im calling them snow variants, because the color was too white to be a sparkle/glitter. Im also working on a lightning rod santa clause with a white beard. And a samta hat. Dont forget that.

So...I had an extra Tree Rex to paint. Decided I wanted to do a Persian Blue/Bronze/Green/Copper colored version. I'm fairly satisfied with the result. Enjoy!

That's a pretty cool Tree Rex! When I get my extra one, I'll have to think of something fun with it.

I noticed the giants are a lot more paint resistant than the standard Skylanders. It took a lot of priming just to get my dang Swarm covered in the brown base. Oy.

Whisper elf I'm doing wont take the gold like snappy did. I'm gonna have to spray her white first to do it.

^ Xero, you have some amazing customs!! I LOVE this tree rex!! Your dark Cynder and your Gill Grunt are also some of my favs!! That Gill Grunt is really awesome!

I am wondering... Do you guys who paint customs use acrylic paints?? And do you use some kind of sealer over the top? I'm looking at painting an extra Spyro and Drobot I have, and I'm wondering what kind of paint/sealer I should use?? Thanks a bunch in advance!!!

Thank you for the kind words guys. And I use Craftsmart Acrylics for the metallics and cheap tube acrylics for the flat colors. I actually use a Krylon matte finish clear spray to seal them out when I am finished painting with seems to add some durability and scratch resistance to the paints. At least nobody that has a custom of mine has mentioned it being a problem...though I don't expect people to play with customs in the first place. Most of the bottle acrylics work really well. Some people will swear by brands like Testors and so on. But I have found unless you are scratching your nails hard into the paint...it stays on really well. I do put multiple coats on and blacks I tend to water down...metallics I put on straight unless I want really good translucency. Hope this helps.

I've seen people do modifications where they put heads in the hands of other Skylanders. Though, Hothead might not seem brutal enough to put a head in. Maybe someone else?

I have seen those ones on ebay where someone cut the heads off others and glued them in the hands of another Skylander. And it does indeed look silly. And not silly in a good way. I guess it's a to each their own sort of thing. But I certainly wouldn't do it to my figures.

Gonna start work on my extra Jet Vac and my extra Cynders.

on the burniator path. the first upgrade, when he gets the maximum flamefire burst dmg. look, it's there.

It might look ridiculous unless you really know what you're doing.

Anyways, this Christmas I'm hoping my parents got me more Skylanders than I wanted and maybe a double so I can try painting one and failing. I'd try painting my Dark Spyro to be darker but I know I'd screw that up.
