It is settled then... we wait untin the game comes out. But I am still not convinced. I will wait some times and see some critics and sneak peeks first... then I will decide if the game is worth buying.

The game looks worth buying to me, but again I cant change what you think, so far all I've done on this pole is give info on the game, but I still think Spyro (or the character based on him) looks weired and still like the game a bit more than I did when the pic was all we had seen

Well it looks like fun but the only reason people are hating it is becasue they want the old spyro. Everyone is excpecting something like the original but when something new comes out thats different everyone will hate it. Try thinking of it as a whoe different game (i lost teh game DX) instead of comparing it to the originals.

There's more than that reason. Fans dislike Spyro's design in Skylanders that it makes them think the game will suck, and they demand a return of familiar characters of the start of the reboot.

oh yea, I also heard that they used the name spyro just to get ratings they didnt plan on continuing any of the storylines (for the time-being)but the name hasent been used for a while so they thought "Why not?"

Did they say it from an official source? Or from a Spyro fan who has a dedication to hating Activision?

SpyroD, that isn't true. I heard that they will possibly make a new Spyro game if the game sells well and the response to Spyro's cameo is good. They did use the character for recognition, but also to get kids to like the character like how we did when we were kids (well, most of us were kids), and then those kids will want a new game from him. They are trying to bring in a new generation of fans, rather than just stay with us.

Instead of giving the children of this era a taste of the golden age of anything in particular they change it too much. They are doing it with TV programs, and now they are doing it to games too

They aren't going to get the old games, copy them and re-release them expecting to get a bunch of sales when most people have already played the games, and they are already available on PSN. The best way for them to get sales is to make a brand new game to bring in a brand new generation, rather than cater to the people that already played the game. Because now it's not what you think the kids would want. It's what you want, which is a carbon copy of the games, even though you can get them for $10(?) USD on PSN. You may not like it, but the kids probably will.

I guess it is a good point... and I am thinking that people who still have these memorable games can give them to the next generation. But of course, now I understand what's up. Progress still needs to continue, even if it's not as good as the previous ones. I guess everybody needs to deal with it...

Yes, we can show them the old games. That's why they're available on PSN. You can show that to your kids if you have a PS3 or PSP. But the kids need a Spyro that they can call their own, and as of now, that's Skylanders, and anything that may happen to Spyro in the future if the sales are good and people want more Spyro.

I know that's true. The problem is that if anything is too good, then there is going to be more progress. But instead of making something better, they just go from good, to bad, to worse, and take away the true great essence of that particular thing.

I saw it on a fan vid, but they had an official site pulled up on screen, so I think its prety legit (still I never ment that Spyro has stoped progres-he will continue)

They didn't do that if you ask me. So far, critics love how Skylanders is looking, ergo, good reviews. It has gotten more praise than any Spyro game since the originals, and in some ways, even more praise.

That's odd. This new game looks nothing like the Classic Spyro, but still, it may be the gameplay or the storyline the stuff that are recieving the good reviews...

Did I say that the critics are saying it's like old Spyro? No.

What's getting praise is the gameplay, features, and the toys themselves.

So, we are saying here that it is the Classic Spyro, except that the dragon we all know changed completely?

No. I'm saying that this is Toys For Bob's attempt at bringing elements from Classic Spyro and LoS together into one game, and at the same time attract a new generation of gaming to Spyro.

I will wait for the Game to come out, but if the game doesn't have sparx! it's going to be a failure like enter the dragonfly :'(

That doesn't make sense. The game will not fail all because Sparx isn't it. You're speculating nonsense like the rest of the Spyro fanbase who complaining about the littlest things that you think would make a Spyro game in your point of view.

Sparx has never been a major character really come to think of it. In the Spyro the Dragon series he was a health indicator, in the Legend of Spyro series he was useless.

I wouldn't say useless, I would say more like a sidekick, leading Spyro to places and lighting the way.

Spyro has always been the title character, and now some fans think the Spyro series will die if Sparx isn't involved in a Spyro game. Besides, in Skylanders, Spyro has his own health bar like he had in the Legend of Spyro series.

Really? I didn't notice that Spyro has a health bar in Skylanders, I probably wasn't looking properly in the trailer.
By the looks of the trailer and the screenshots I much prefer it to The Legend of Spyro.

Spyro has revealed to have his own healthbar in recent gameplay in videos of Skylanders at the Toy Fair 2011. They're uploaded on Youtube.

lol even though you didn't like the LoS with a passion, you would rather like the Legend series than Skylanders, when only a teaser trailer and screenshots have been revealed, and not the recent gameplay of Skylanders that have been uploaded to the web? :3

I'm beginning to like this game, there's just a few minor things I dislike, but it looks fun.

yea, It looks like the DoTD view, you know- backed into a sky loke view of the characters and the whole health, xp, ect.- in the corner with a character pic....... resembling ist it....... anywho, cant what to get it

And Enter the Dragonfly had Sparx, but you call it a failure. So why would Skylanders be a failure if Sparx isn't in there, when a failure of a game DID have him?

I agree with this. They still wouldn't sell that much copies even if they did copy the first three spyro games completley. Kids these days just want to shoot stuff, unfortunately.

Mario is something that still sane and fun. Don't know about Donkey Kong, I want to play the Wii verision to see if it's any good, cause the SNES trilogy was AWESOME, but I suppose it is fun and sane as well. I manage to play Kirby once, and it's sane too. Never played LittleBigPlanet, but if you said it's sane, then I guess it is indeed. Now CAV, what I meant is, that I know that there are still fun AND sane games today, but not as common as before. Making those two factors combine is quite hard. My point is that shooting games are taking over, and at this rate, people would preffer them over the ones that are sane. I am not saying that the developers are nuts in the head, but they should take it easy. People MIGHT get these violent games way over their heads.
