Chapter 67: Help Is On The Way

Frostbolt and Goldstar inshed closer to Firefly. they glared at her, grinning evily, planning to attack at any given moment. Firefly eyed them closely with a fearful expression. her exit was blocked, she was outnumbered, and she didn't even have the means to fight them. she whimpered, fearing this was it. then suddenly, there was the sound of a loud roar, and a large figure burst into the room. the figure attacked Goldstar, firing ice shards at her. Frostbolt growled, and rushed to help her. the figure threw them against the wall. then he fired ice shards at the wall, and rammed it with his horns. the wall broke into a million pieces, making an exit.
"catch me if you can!" the figure hollered in an elderly male voice. then he rushed outside. Goldstar and Frostbolt jumped to thier feet, and raced after them. Firefly watched, thinking she had reconized the voice.
".....Dad......?" she muttered. then she turned to the entrance as three more figures burst into the room.
"Firefly! you're alive!" then an overjoyed dragonfly flew up to her, and hugged her.
"it's nice to see you too, Flash." she smiled.
"are you ok?" a young female asked.
"yeah, Zanna, i'm alright. how about you guys?"
"we're fine. we just came from the dungeoun." a male answered.
"you did? well then, Tynan, who was it that came in here? was it my dad?"
"yes, it was." he replied.
"he used ice to break the cells, freeing us all." Zanna explained.
"us? are there more?" Firefly. Flash finally let go, and looked at her.
"more? there was a whole dungeuon full of dragons!" he said, spreading his arms wide.
"a whole dungeuon? who were they?"
"well, Delano, Snake, Hashim, Aisha, Titus, and a bunch of gold dragons were there. Delano and the others stayed behind to calm down the gold dragons." Zanna answered.
"gold dragons? what happened to them?"
"they were turned evil somehow..." Tynan frowned.
"evil? were they put in liquid or something?"
"no, but i think it has something to do with Goldstar." Zanna said.
"Goldstar? the dragon that tried to kill me just now?"
"yes. she was turned evil, correct?"
"well, yeah, but what does that have to do with the others?"
"well, Goldstar is an elder, and is oringinally a gold dragon. i think that when she was turned evil, it affected the others somehow, turning them as well." Zanna explained her theory.
"huh. that actually makes sense. i think." Tynan said, trying to understand it.
"but how would it affect the others?" Firefly asked.
"that i'm not sure of. maybe because they're all elders, turning one affects the others?" Zanna wondered.
"well, we can figure everything else out later. right now, we need to help my dad." Firefly insisted. then the four of them rushed outside to help Icetalon.

Wow what a relief. Firefly is safe but ice talons better becareful.

yeah, but Firefly and the others will be there to help Icetalon soon.
oh, sorry i haven't been online much lately. i've been busy with homework.

its alright i thought something happened to you. Glad to see your ok. How was your weekend?

it was good. i mostly relaxed, didn't do much. but since Monday, i've been doing hw. i got done with what i had for today, and decided to take a little break. i might have to get offline early tonight though.

Oh I see, its ok im just glad your doing ok. My weekend was more so abit stressful at best.

hmm, that's not good. i'm a little stressed now with trying to get everything done, but it's not that bad. i should be caught up with all my work soon, and soon i'll be on xmas break. then hopefully, i'll have time to write.

Yeah i completely understand. I on one hand get stressed at work then again working with the general public is stressful lol. Hope you will have a good Xmas break.

Chapter 68: Tiny but Mighty

"Dad!" Firefly yelled, fearfully. just as she and her friends raced outside, Icetalon was being slammed agaisnt the ground by Frostbolt and Goldstar. they each pinned him down, and attacked with thier claws. Icetalon already appeared to have wounds and bruises on him, and now he was gaining more of them. "leave him alone!" Firefly roared in an angry tone. Frostbolt and Goldstar turned to face her with an angry glare.
"uh oh...." Flash gulped. ".....grab onto to your hats, gang......this ain't gonna end well......" he muttered, holding onto his hat. Frostbolt and Goldstar rushed at the young dragons. "...i can't watch....!" Flash screamed, pulling his hat down over his eyes. Frostbolt and Goldstar were about to strike.
"Firefly!" Tynan grabbed her, Zanna, and Flash. he pulled them close to his body, and then they disappeared in shadow. they reappeared beside Icetalon. Flash lifted his hat, and looked around.
".....we're.....alive....?" he asked in disbelief. he then threw his hat up in the air, joyfully. "hallelujah! we lived!" he shouted to the sky. then Zanna tapped him on the shoulder. he caught his hat, and turned to face her. "what?" he asked. Zanna pointed forwards. Flash turned to see Frostbolt and Goldstar rushing towards them again. "ahhhhhhhhh!" he screamed, throwing his hat aside.
"scatter!" Zanna hollered. then she, Tynan, and Firefly ran off in diffrent directions. Flash's eyes darted in all directions.
"ah-ha!" he grinned when he spotted his hat. he picked it up, and dusted it off. he then put it on. "there." he smiled. he then felt hot air on his back. "huh....?" he muttered. then he turned around to see Frostbolt bent down to his level. he snorted, and grinned evily. "ahhhhhhhhhhh!" Flash screamed, and he took off. Frostbolt chuckled. then he looked up to see Goldstar cornering Firefly. he then saw Zanna and Tynan rush to help thier friend. with an evil glare, he shot two ice shards, turning the young black dragons to ice. Frostbolt then walked over to the two ice sculptures he had just created. then a little bug flew in his face. "hey, pal! you lay one claw on those two ice sculptures and i'll give ya the what for! ya hear me?!" Frostbolt swatted at the powerless dragonfly. "yikes!" Flash quickly dodged his paw. then he heard a scream. he turned around to see Goldstar grab Firefly by the throat. "hey! you let her go!" he flew over to them with swift speed. Goldstar chuckled lightly, and slammed Firefly on the ground. she pinned her down with one claw, and raised the other to attack. "i'm warning ya!" Flash shouted, holding up a tiny knife. Frostbolt walked over to Zanna and Tynan. he then grabbed them, and started to fly away. Goldstar lowered a claw to Firefly's throat. "don't you dare!" Flash swiftly stabbed Goldstar's soldior with the little knife. Goldstar let go of Firefly, and turned to glare at the annoying dragonfly.
"you dare challenge me?" she snarled.
"well, on second thought...." he chuckled nervously.
"you irritable little gnat. i should smite you where you stand."
"hey! that's heroic dragonfly to you, pal! and i happen to be flying, not standing!" he corrected her. she growled angerly. "but, you know, everyone's entitled to thier own opinion, right?" he chuckled nervously.
"not everyone should be allowed to ramble on about nonsense." she snarled. then someone whacked her over the head with a big rock. Goldstar fell unconcious. Flash looked to see Firefly hovering in place, holding a big rock.
"sneaky, sneaky, kid. but you couldn't have done that sooner?! i was almost dragon food!"
"your welcome." she smirked, dropping the rock on the ground. she then landed, and looked around. "where's Zanna and Tynan?"
"oh, they were just turned into ice sculptures, and carried off by a big, evil ice dragon. but, you know, it's nothing serious..." he muttered.
"what?! we have to save them!" Firefly started to rush off, when Flash flew in front of her.
"woah, where's the fire, kid? i don't see a big, evil dragon after ya."
"but we need to save Zanna and Tynan!"
"yeah, yeah, i get that. but, uh, what about that guy? we gonna leave him here?" Flash pointed to a big, male dragon laying on the ground. Firefly looked where he was pointing.
"Dad!" she rushed to his side.
"wait for me!" Flash flew after her. Icetalon groaned as he sat up.
"....oi........i'm getting too old for this......oh......" he groaned. Firefly looked at him, worriedly.
"Dad, you ok?"
"......oh, i'll live......i'll just feel dead for a while......." he moaned.
"but your wounds..."
".....will heal in time....." he moaned. he looked at her. ".....i'm just glad that you're ok......"
"but Zanna and Tynan arn't......" she muttered, lowering her head with a sadened expression.
"they will be when we get there....." Icetalon stood up, turning his gaze to Slean's lair. "......if we hurry, we'll make it in tiem to save them....."
"but, Dad, you're hurt.......you should rest......"
"....i can rest when i'm dead....."
"what about the kids? you gonna save them when you're dead?" Flash added.
"Slean won't bother with an old fool like me....." he coughed.
"but Frostbolt and Goldstar attacked you before, and they will again.....you should go somewhere safe....."
"and sit back while you go in an evil dragon's lair alone.....? i don't think so......what if...."
"i'll be fine, Dad.....besides, i'm not alone.....i have Flash......"
"that's right. she has me." Flash held his head high in a noble way.
"...a dragonfly.....? no offense, but..... he's not exactly...... how should i put this.....? strong....." Icetalon muttered.
"maybe not, but he helped me just now......he's a great distraction....."
"but that may just get him killed.....and then what.....?"
"i can take care of myself, thank you very much." Flash said proudly, flexing his muscles.
"yeah, and i can too. we're stronger than we look."
"darn right." Flash nodded. "we may be small, but we're anything but weak." he said, still flexing. Icetalon sighed with a look of defeat.
"very well..... just be careful...... and stick together....." he warned.
"we will, Dad." Firefly cracked a smile.
"don't worry, sir, i'll have her home before bedtime." Flash saluted him with a serious look. Firefly giggled.
"you better....." Icetalon said. ".....don't force me to put the deep freeze on a little bug...."
"hey, i'm anything but a--" Flash looked at himself. "ok, i'm small, but that's little dragonfly to you, mister." he said. Icetalon cracked a smile.
"just be careful....." he said. Firefly and Flash nodded. then they flew off to Slean's lair.

YES!! More finally, hmm wonder how tundra is doing? and i hope slean doesnt get any ideas to hurt her own son.

hehehe, more is coming up soon. i've got some serious catching up to do.

Chapter 69: The Rescue Mission

Firefly and Flash quietly walked through a long, dark hallway.
"shhh...... be very, very quiet..... we're hunting evil dragons......" Flash whispered.
"we're not hunting anything..... this is a rescue mission....." Firefly corrected him.
"aye-aye captain!" Flash saluted her.
"shhh! keep your voice down!" she shushed. she then continued walking, looking around. "this place is so dark, it's almost impossible to see..."
"just follow the light...." Flash said as he flew up ahead. "over here!" he waved a hand. Firefly ran over to him.
"good going, you found a door." she smiled. but she frowned when the door wouldn't budge. "it's locked." she sighed. Flash got out a little knife.
"leave it to me." he said with a sly smile. he then poked the knife through the keyhole. after a few moments of lockpicking, the door opened. flash smiled proudly. "little something i learned how to do."
"great job!" Firefly smiled before rushing inside. the room was pitch black.
"i can't see a thing....." Flash muttered. "oof!" he grunted. he had run into a wall. "who put this here?!" he groaned, rubbing his head. then there was an evl laugh.
"welcome foolish gnats!" a deep voice boomed. then suddenly, the room lite up as pots with fire inside them lite up all around the room.
"hey! we're not gnats! i am a noble dragonfly! and my friend here is a dragon!" Flash shouted to the figure standing on a platform on the other side of the room. it was Murkvenom.
"well, sorry to offend you!" he laughed.
"what did you do with my friends?!" Firefly growled.
"oh, you mean these two.....?" he asked as he raised a paw and pointed to the wall on his left. chained to the wall were Zanna and Tynan.
"let them go!" Flash yelled, holding up a knife. Murkvenom laughed histerically.
"no puny dragonfly could harm me!"
"wanna bet, tough guy?!" Flash raised his fists.
"try anything........" he started. then Goldstar and Frostbolt appeared in a cloud of shadow beside Zanna and Tynan. each one held a dagger to thier throats. "and they die!" Murkvenom chuckled evily. Flash and Firefly froze. what were they to do? if they moved, thier friends would be killed. and there wasn't they could do from where they stood. "freeze all but thier heads. i want them to witness thier friends' death." Murkvenom grinned evily. Frostbolt fired ice shards at them. Firefly was frozen, except for her head.
"ahhhhhhhhhh!" Flash quickly dodged the ice.
"forget him! kill the others! now!" Murkvenom growled. Frostbolt and Goldstar turned to face Zanna and Tynan. they raised thier daggers to strike. then suddenly, ice shards were fired at them. Goldstar began to freeze quickly. Frostbolt was hit, but did not freeze. he turned to face the entrance. there, standing in the doorway, was a young ice dragon.
"well, well, well. look what we have here. the traitor son returns. come to save your friends, have you?" Murkvenom chuckled evily.
"actually, yes." Tundra growled. "prepare to die." he roared and lunged at Murkvenom. Murkvenom whirled around, and whacked him with his tail, sending Tundra flying into the left wall. he fell to the ground with a thud. Frostbolt picked him up by the throat, and pinned him against the wall. he raised the dagger, touched the point to his chest.
"stop." there was a female voice. all stopped. all was silent. everyone turned to the door to see a green dragoness. "the ice dragon....." she began. "....is mine......" she finished, her cold stare narrowed on Tundra.
"he is all yours, my queen." Frostbolt bowed, dropping Tundra. he and Murkvenom stepped back. Flash hid behind Firefly. the dragoness walked up to Goldstar. she then melted the ice with acid. "leave us..." she said to her minions. Murkvenom, Frostbolt, and Goldstar departed. then the dragoness walked up to Tundra, grabbed him by the throat, and pinned him agaisnt the wall. "how dare you return..." she snarled.
"nice to see you, too....... Slean..." Tundra growled lowly.
"now, now....... is that any way to treat...... your mother...?"
"you mean nothing to me........ you're a cruel, heartless........ monster......."
"oh, am i so...... not hurt by that..." she chuckled. "do you really think you can make me feel anything towards you? i gave you up as an egg. i never wanted you. in fact, i have been trying to kill you. no reason to let you live now..." she grinned evily.
"Flash, you have to do something!" Firefly whispered to him.
"me? how?" he questioned.
"i don't know, think of something!" she insisted. Slean curved her long, slender neck, and glared at the two.
"it is not nice to interrupt someone..." she snarled. then with a wave of her paw, they disappeared in shadow. Zanna and Tynan gasped with fear. Slean turned her gaze to them. "can't have you disturbing me either..." then with another wave of her paw, Zanna and Tynan disappeared. Slean turned her gaze to the now empty room. then she glared at Tundra. "now...we're alone...." she grinned evily.

Oh no tundra. Oh boy I hope he makes it though. Man the suspense is killing me LOL.

Chapter 70: Back Where We Started

"where are we?" a young male voice asked.
"i think..... we're in the dungeuon again....." a young female replied.
"no! not again! i demand my rights!" a male voice hollered in panic.
"hey, at least you guys arn't still partly frozen in a block of ice..." another female muttered.
"sorry, Firefly, but there's nothing we can do about that..." the first male said.
"Tynan, that isn't true. you have shadowfire, correct?" the first female reminded him.
"right, Zanna, i do, but it's shadowfire. it's not like hot regular fire."
"if it melts the ice, i'll be happy." Firefly shivered.
"if i get out alive, i'll be grateful!"
"oh, Flash, it isn't that bad. at least this was all Slean did to us. she could have killed us on the spot. which makes me wonder why she didn't..." Zanna thought.
"maybe she just wanted to be alone with Tundra." Tynan said.
"possibly. which means, since we're in here, she'll deal with us later." Zanna figured.
"ugh! will we ever get away from this crazy dragon?!" Flash shouted to the ceiling.
"uh, hello! have we forgotten something?" Firefly cleared her throat. the others looked at her. "i'm still frozen here." she reminded them.
"Tynan, try to melt the ice." Zanna insisted. Tynan took a deep breath, and shot out black flames at Firefly. it took a few moments, but the ice gruadually started to melt.
"finally! i can feel my feet again!" Firefly sighed in relief.
"you're welcome." Tynan huffed.
"hey! hey! hello! urgent sitaution here!" Flash hollered, waving his arms. the dragons ignored him at first, but the dragonfly was persistent. "hey!" he whistled loudly.
"what?!" they snapped, annoyed.
"look around!" Flash flew up to the bars of the cell, spreading his arms wide. the others looked, and saw why he had gotten thier attention. the bars of the cell were bent and broken. the bars on other cells were the same. the walls were cracked, as well as the ceiling, and bits of debris were everywhere. drops of blood had been splattered on the walls, and there were small pools of blood on the ground.
"what happened here...?" Firefly gasped.
"isn't it obvious?" Zanna asked. "a battle took place here."
"a battle? do you think......?" Tynan started to say. then he stopped, and lowered his head with a sadened expression.
"i don't know....... but i think...... the gaurdians...... fought the gold dragons........"
"wait, what?!" Flash gasped in shock.
"think about it..." Zanna began, stepping out of the cell. "..the dungeoun is a mess..... and when we left..... the gaurdians were here, trying to calm down the crazed gold dragons....... controlled by darkness..... the gold dragons must have lashed out agaisnt the gaurdians....... causing a fight to start........ in the heat of the battle...... blood was spilled...... and i'm sure the victors took the opposing side captive...... and flew off with them........ the likelihood of us finding them now is....... very slim...... we're not even sure what happened here...... who fought who....... whose blood was spilled....... who won.......... we don't even know....... if lives were lost........" Zanna explained with a lowered voice. Firefly walked up to her.
"it doesn't matter what happened here. because we are going to find the gaurdians, and help them. and they better be living when we find them. or the gold dragons might not be living when we leave them." Firefly said in an angry tone.

Chapter 71: On The Move

Firefly raced down the hallway with Zanna, Tynan, and Flash right behind her. they kept going until Flash stopped.
"hey! i heard something!" he called, but they didn't notice at first. "hey! i heard a noise!" he flagged them down, stopping them.
"what now?" Firefly asked, irritated.
"i heard something!" he insisted, pointing back down the hallway.
"Flash, we don't have time for this!" Firefly groaned.
"it might be worth checking out though." Zanna spoke up.
"fine. but make it fast." she said. then they followed Flash down the hall. he soon stopped outside a door.
"there! in there!" he pointed. impatient, Firefly rammed the door with her horns, busting through it. the others followed.
"what?! how did you escape?!" it was Slean who turned to face them, snarling in shock and anger. she held Tundra in her grasp.
"easy. the dungeuon was trashed. now, let our friend go before we use force." Firefly snarled, showing no patience. Slean chuckled.
"do you really think you can stop me? foolish child! no young dragon with such little power could defeat me!"
"wanna bet?" Firefly snorted. she then nodded at Tynan. he stepped forth, and with a deep breath, let out a strong gust of wind. the gust knocked Slean back a bit, causing her to drop Tundra. the ice dragon quickly got to his feet, and rushed over to his friends.
"now, let's get out of here." Tundra said.
"not so fast." Firefly said. "Tynan." she looked at him, and nodded. then with another deep breath, Tynan sent a mini tornado after Slean. she cried out angerly as she was stuck in the vortex. "now we can go." Firefly grinned. then she and the others raced out of the mountain. just as the young dragons were exiting the mountain, Slean freed herself from the tornado.
"Murkvenom!" she roared angerly. he appeared in a cloud of shadow, and bowed in respect.
"yes, my queen? how may i be of service?"
"gather my army now! go after those whelplings, and attack them! i will accept no prisoners! kill those wretched children, and anyone else who stands in your way, or else! now go!" she growled angerly. Murkvenom nodded.
"as you wish." he said. then a thought occured to them. "do you wish for me to get Frostbolt, Goldstar, and Rouge?"
"no. leave them here. i will need someone left with a brain in case you fail." she snarled. "now get going. you haven't a moment to lose." she ordered. he bowed, and then disappeared in shadow.
:Meanwhile:
"so, where we going exactly?" Flash asked as he and the others flew over the wasteland, heading towards the forrest.
"to find the gaurdians and gold dragons." Firefly replied.
"and they would be where.....?" he asked.
"no clue." she answered.
"uh huh. and we expect to find them how?"
"by looking. how else?"
"i dunno....." Flash muttered.
"perhaps we should actually try certain locations, besides just randomly searching." Zanna suggested.
"you think you know everything, don't you?" Firefly grumbled.
"beg your pardon?" Zanna asked, confused.
"you always act so smart and arrogant, little miss know-it-all."
"but i don't know everything. i'm only eight. just like you."
"no, if you were just like me, you'd be dumb and powerless."
"what? you're not dumb. where is this coming from?"
"it's coming from the fact that i can't do anything. i have no powers, no elements, no intellegence, nothing. i don't even have a family, and the only friends i have get taken and hurt, and possibly even killed, and there's nothing i can do about it!" Firefly yelled. after a moment of silence, a tear rolled down her cheek. ".......i just don't want to feel useless.......i don't want......to lose my friends......" she whispered.
"you won't lose us." Tynan said, softly.
"yeah, we'll always be here for you." Zanna assured her.
"no matter what." Tundra added.
"whether you like it or not." Flash smiled. Firefly sniffed and cracked a smile.
"thanks guys....."
"now, lets go find those dragons!" Flash held his head high, ready for anything. "forward march!" he pointed straight.
"uh, Flash, we're flying..." Zanna grinned, reminding him.
"huh?" Flash looked down to see the ground far beneath them. the dragons giggled and chuckled. "oh, yeah, we are flying." he laughed foolishly. "alright then, forward charge!" he pointed as he flew faster. the others chuckled lightly as they sped up.

Chapter 72: They're Everywhere

after spending some time searching, Firefly and the others finally found signs of dragons being nearby. tracks of blood and footprints, broken branches, burn marks in various places, and claw marks in various places were all signs that a struggle between dragons had taken place. they followed the signs as they rushed through the forrest. they traveled by foot so as not to miss a single sign. they kept going until they found the temple where the gaurdians lived, until it had been destroyed. thinking there might be someone there, they split up, and searched everywhere. after a while of searching, Firefly, Zanna, Tynan, and Tundra headed back towards the temple to meet up. no one had seen any signs of the gaurdians or the gold dragons. it was then they realized that something was missing.
"where's Flash?" Firefly asked, looking around for the little dragonfly.
"wasn't he with you?" Zanna asked.
"i thought he was with you." Firefly replied.
"was he with you?" Zanna asked Tynan.
"no, i haven't seen him." he replied.
"have you seen him?" Firefly asked Tundra.
"no, not at all." he answered. then they all faced a diffrent direction.
"FLASH?!" they all yelled at once. no answer. that worried the young dragons. they then turned to each other.
"ok, we split up again, this time look for Flash. Tundra, you check the nearby stream. Tynan, you check any nearby caves. Zanna, you check trees, bushes, mushrooms, etc. got it?" Firefly asked. they all nodded. "ok, go!" they then all rushed off in diffrent directions, calling out Flash's name. there seemed to be no sign or trace of him. where had that little dragonfly flown off to? they checked near water, around trees and bushes, inside caves, all around the temple, and still saw no trace of him. all this searching and fiding nothing only worried them even more. such a small creature with little skills could not last long if evil was nearby. they knew they had to move fast. not only did they have to find Flash, but they also had to find the gaurdians and the gold dragons. plus, they had no clue that an evil army was on its way. what were they to do? should they continue searching for thier friend? or perhaps move on to find the dragons? could they avoid or even take on the army if they didn't leave in time? it seemed so much was at risk, yet it all seemed to depend on the absence on one dragonfly. Firefly, Tundra, Zanna, and Tynan continued to search as Slean's forces drew near. then it all seemed to happen in an instant.
"attack!" a male voice roared.
"no! get away! leave them alone!" an adult female voice was heard.
"kill them!" the male roared again. then dark figues swooped down from the sky, racing towards the forrest.
"noooooooooo!" a female voice cried. then there was a strong gust of wind holding back the dark figures.
"go! run while you still have the chance!" a high-pictched male voice shouted.
"Flash?!" Firefly's voice called out as she followed the sound of the high-pitched voice.
"Firefly!" Tundra, Zanna, and Tynan followed the sound of her voice. they charged through the bushes to find a light colored dragoness blasting black dragons with a wind breath. beside her was an orange dragonfly.
"Mom!" Tynan cried out.
"Flash!" Firefly called. the little dragonfly flew over to her.
"hey, Firefly." he waved.
"don't you 'hey, Firefly' me! where've you been?! you could've been killed!" she hollered. though she sounded mad, she also sounded concerned.
"well, hello to you, too." Flash smirked. while they chatted, Aisha tried to hold off Slean's army as best she could. she blew some away with wind, then quickly turned to the young dragons.
"go! run! i will hold them off!" she hollered. they all looked at her.
"Mom, we're not leaving you!" Tynan said.
"yeah, we can't let you take them on alone!" Zanna added.
"i am not asking, i am telling you to go! now! the others need you!"
"you know where they are?" Firefly asked.
"the gold dragons carried the others off to thier old home, thier temple. seek them out there. hurry!"
"wait, the gold dragons' temple?" Zanna asked, sounding a bit confused. Aisha attacked some black dragons before answering.
"yes. that is where they went. you must find them." she said bewteen attacks. a black dragon ran up from behind Aisha. Tynan sent him flying with his own wind breath. he then proceded to breathe shadowfire on others. Tundra began shooting ice shards and spitting poison at them. the black dragons were everywhere, trying to surround them. Aisha and Tynan blew some away with wind. Tundra froze some with ice.
"but i heard that temple was destoryed years ago when the gold dragons were taken." Zanna said.
"it was, but that is still thier home. they have no where else to go, and will return there." Aisha answered as she fought.
"how do we get there?" Firefly asked.
"it is not possible, not without help." the fighting continued.
"what do you mean?"
"you need a guide."
"a guide?"
"what kind of guide?" Zanna asked. the others were still fighting the black dragons.
"the only one who knows where the temple is. you must seek out a black dragon."
"a black dragon?" both girls asked.
"indeed. this one is good. find him, and he will guide you to the temple."
"how do we find him?" Firefly asked.
"simply call out his name, and he will come."
"and his name would be......?"
"Nightdoze." Aisha replied.

well, there's a lot of dragons, and they're having a conversation

Chapter 73: Nightdoze Arrives

"Nightdoze!" Firefly and Zanna yelled. then there was a strong gust of wind.
"Mom, are you doing that?" Tynan asked as he and Tundra stopped fighting for a moment.
"no, dear, i am not." Aisha replied. the black dragons looked a bit fearful as they started to back away. the strong wind swirled into a vortex, creating a small tornado. there were flashes of light and a roar like thunder. then as the tornado faded away, a large dragon stood in its place. he was twice the size of an average dragon, and was very muscular. he was solid black with deep blue eyes. he had four, long, black horns. his claws were also black. his tail was long and thick, with a very sharp blade at the end. his black wings had sharp claws at the tips. he had large, black spikes from head to tail. he wore an amulet around his neck. it appeared to be a dark blue crystal. he gazed at all the dragons before him.
"who summoned me?" he asked in a deep, thunderous voice.
"i did." Firefly stepped forth with a brave look. "we need your help, sir."
"my help?" he asked. he then turned his gaze to Slean's minions. "i do not battle." he said, turning to Firefly. he then turned away to leave.
"that isn't why we called. we need your help to reach the elders' temple." she said, quickly. the dragon stopped in his tracks. he then turned his head slowly.
"how is it you know of them?" he asked with a suspicious look.
"through me." Aisha stepped forth. "i am Aisha, gaurdian of wind. i told them of the elders, sir. they have a right to know. they are to save the other gaurdians. they were taken...... by the elders."
"by the elders?!" the dragon turned around fully with an angry growl. "that is perposterous! the elders would never do such a thing!"
"but they did, sir. they have been turned. thier leader was turned, which...."
"turned them as well....." the dragon lowered his voice. "i suppose you do make sense."
"thank you, sir. now, will you help us?" Aisha asked. Nightdoze looked away, and thought for a moment. he then looked at Firefly.
"step closer, child." he said, calmly. with a curious expression, Firefly walked up to him. Nightdoze held out a paw, and placed it on her forehead. he closed his eyes as his paw started to glow black. all except for Aisha were worried that this was somehow evil. Aisha held up a paw, to stop the others from interferring. then Nightdoze opened his eyes, and lowered his paw.
"what did you see?" Aisha asked, curiously. the young dragons all gaze her a questioning look.
"........such power......." Nightdoze mumbled.
"power, sir?" Aisha questioned. he looked at her.
"...this child........is the one we seek......i will help you....." he said with a nod. then he turned to Slean's minions, who appeared quite fearful now. "go back to your master, and tell her you were unsuccessful. do not argue, just go. and do not return. if you dare come back, then you shall deal with me." his eyes grew dark as he growled menacingly. Murkvenom and the black dragons flew off in a hurry. the young dragons looked at Nightdoze, cautiously. he turned to them. his gaze was normal, and he did not growl. "do not fear me, young ones. for i only bring fear to my enemys." he assured them. he then turned to Aisha. "shall we carry on then?"
"yes, we shall. lead us to the elders, sir." she nodded.

Tundra: um so firefly do you need help?

Chapter 74: Failure

"you what?!" a female voice roared with anger.
"now, Slean, please..... its not what you think...." a male pleaded.
"Murkvenom, you idiot! i told you to kill them all! yet you cower at the sight of one dragon!"
"in my defense..... it was....."
"save it for a dragon that cares! now we have to stop them before they reach the others! Frostbolt! Goldstar!" she yelled. then two dragons walked into the large, dark room. a smaller dragon had followed them. the two adults bowed at the sight of Slean.
"you call, my queen?" they both said.
"Frostbolt, Goldstar, i want you both to take my army to the others. find them and kill them. and do not fail! any failed attempt, no matter how small, will result in death! do you understand?!"
"yes, my queen." they both replied. the young dragon stepped forth.
"can i go too?"
"no, Rouge, you may not." Slean replied.
"but why not? i can fight too."
"yes, but that is not your job. besides, i need you here. but, Murkvenom, you may go as long as you do not fail!" she turned her cold gaze to him.
"i assure you, madam, i will not fail." he bowed.
"see to it that you don't, or else...!" she snarled. then she looked at Frostbolt and Goldstar. "i shall leave you two in charge of my army. see to it that no one survives. if one little creature lives, even a dragonfly, i will have your heads!"
"yes, my queen." they bowed.
"leave!" Slean ordered. then Frostbolt, Goldstar, and Murkvenom disappeared in a cloud of shadow. Rouge turned to leave, and was almost at the door, when Slean spoke up. "Rouge, stay." she said. Rouge stopped, and turned around.
"yes, Mom?" she asked.
"come here." Slean replied. Rouge walked up to her. "Rouge, i want to spy on the others. watch my army, and see if they fail or not. if they succeed, leave them be so that they may return. but if they fail....." Slean clenched her teeth. "...then you can leave them to die, or attempt to kill them yourself.....i'm sure you will find a way....now go..." she said. Rouge nodded, and walked out of the room.
:meanwhile:
Nightdoze led Aisha and the others to the elder's temple. they flew for some in silence. then finally, someone broke the ice.
"are we almost there, or what?" Flash spoke up, looking around at the others. Tynan and Tundra shrugged. Firefly and Zanna shared a questioning look. Aisha looked at Nightdoze.
"well? how much further?" she asked. he glanced back at her.
"it's a long way. if you're getting tired now, then we won't make it in one flight."
"i never said i was tired. i am only curious." she corrected him. she then looked at the young ones. "how are you all holding up?"
"just fine." Firefly smiled.
"i'm quite alright." Zanna smiled.
"i'm good." Tynan grinned.
"i'm a little bored..." Tundra muttered. "..but other than that, i'm ok..."
"i can't take much more of this..." Flash groaned. they all looked at him.
"tired?" Firefly asked.
"no..." he started to say. "i'm bored! i'm going crazy over here! we're just slowly flying in silence! do you know how dull that is?!" he shouted. the others quietly glanced at each other. "gah! that's exactly what i'm talking about! can we at least talk or play a game or something while we fly?!" he hollered. the others looked at each other again.
"fine by me." Firefly said.
"sounds good." Zanna said.
"could be fun." Tynan said.
"eh, why not?" Tundra said.
"a conversation sounds nice." Aisha smiled. she looked at Nightdoze. "sir?"
"we'll pick up the pace." he said. then he flew faster. the others flew faster to keep up.
"what about entertainment?" Firefly asked. Nightdoze stopped and looked at her. the others stopped and looked at him.
"entertainment? is that all you care about? your friends are in danger, and all you care about is not being bored? well, too bad. the life of a hero isn't meant to be fun. you are meant to defeat evil and save the world, not have fun. remember that." he said, sternly. then he continued flying. the others quietly glanced at each other.
"what a grouch..." Flash muttered. at that moment, Nightdoze glanced back at them.
"well? come on. we've got dragons to save." he said. then they all continued flying.

Well I see someone hit nightdozes nerve. Well hopefully they make it in peace over there.

Tundra: yeah ok, guess I'll sit and watch then

yeah, he isn't exactly the friendliest dragon, is he?

Firefly: ok. just don't get on Nightdoze's nerves.....

Tundra: well can I get on your nerves.*winks at firefly*

Yeah but he is loyal and tough looking tho.

Chapter 75: Chaos

Nightdoze and the others soon arrived at the elders' temple, or what was left of it. the once large, golden temple that sat atop the high mountain had been leveled to the ground. piles of burnt rubble sat in its place. as the group landed, they gasped at the sight. not the destroyed temple, but the battle that was currently taking place. the gaurdians and the elders were at each others' throats, as if they were mortal enemies. however, the gaurdians were out-numbered by twelve elders, who were stil dark and twisted because of what had happened to Goldstar. then Firefly gasped. her dad, Icetalon, was there too. he was fighting the elders, trying to help the gaurdians. Aisha, Tynan, and Tundra soon joined in the fight. even Flash and Zanna were trying to help. Nightdoze watched as the dragons fought mercilessly. then there was a loud roar. Firefly and Nightdoze turned to see Frostbolt and Goldstar leading an army of black dragons towards them. Murkvenom roared, and led the army down to attack. Frostbolt swooped down to attack. Goldstar landed, and then led the elders to attack. Nightdoze turned to watch, as if it were a show. Firefly gasped in horror at the bloodbath. Nightdoze then gazed down at the young dragon.
"you must stop them before they all end up dead." he said in a monotone voice, as if he didn't care.
"me?! but what can i do?" Firefly looked up at him, gasping in surprise.
"you possess great power. use it. now. before it is too late."
"but how? and what's my power? what do i do? how do i use it?"
"i am not to teach you this power. figure it out."
"and if i can't?"
"then watch everyone you care about die." he said. Firefly gulped, and turned to face the battle. dragons were fighting each other left and right. some fought in the air, the rest fought on land. most used physical attacks, using elemental attacks as a last resort. then there was a loud cry of pain.
"NO!" Firefly cried out in fear. her father had been struck. it was Murkvenom who had stabbed him in the stomach. at that precise moment, Firefly's eyes glowed red. within moments, her whole body glowed red. she then rose up on her hind legs, and spread out her wings. then she roared as a red wave of force shot out from her body in all directions, hitting everyone and everything in sight.

Whoa!!! Firefly has that much power huh. Dang well hope she stops this battle.


Tundra: well how can something cute be that strong. Guess looks do fool.

Frost: AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! DEATH KISSES!!!!! *FLYS FASTER*
me: GET BACK HERE!!!

Chapter 76: Hidden Power

Firefly was the only one left standing. she soon stopped glowing, and eyed the damage she had done. soon there was the sound of groaning. Firefly waited anxiously, hoping it was a friend. then Murkvenom stood up, and saw her.
".........retreat.........!" he yelled. then he started to fly away. a few other black dragons rose up, and followed him. the others lay motionless.
".............retreat........!" yelled a female voice. Firefly looked. it was Goldstar. she then flew after the black dragons. all the elders got up, and followed her. Frostbolt got up as well.
"...........wait..........!" he hollered. the others stopped and looked back. "..........take the others prisoner........!" he continued. then the black dragons and the elders each grabbed a dragon, and carried them off.
".........no.........! stop..........!" Firefly yelled. she tried to stop them, but she felt weak and drained of her energy. all she could do now was watch the enemy fly away while they carried her friends. she looked around, no one remained. except for one...
"Flash........!" Firefly rushed over to the dragonfly who lay on a small rock. ".......Flash.......! can you hear me.......? Flash.......!" she shouted.
".........ugh........" the dragonfly groaned as he started to open his eyes.
"...you okay....?" she asked. he looked up at her.
"..........am i..........dead.......?" he asked. she shoke her head.
"no.....thank goodness......" she cracked a smile. Flash got up, amazed he was not only alive, but could move and fly.
"......ugh.........boy, have i got a headache........dang, i hid behind a rock, and still feel about dead........" he groaned.
"you hid behind a rock....?"
"hey, i was outnumbered by like a million, and was the smallest guy here too........not only that, but i'm only a little dragonfly.......so, when my knives didn't do any damage, i hid.......so, what hit me.......?"
"....i think.......maybe..........i did......" she said, surprised herself. Flash looked at her, surprised.
"you......? you used.......a power........?"
"i can't believe it myself.......but Nightdoze said i had great power.......but i don't understand..........how......?"
"do you have such great power?" a female voice asked. Firefly and Flash looked around.
"who said that......?!" he gasped.
"i did." a vocie said. it sounded like it came from behind them. they turned around to see Rouge. "i've been watching this whole time, where it's safe, of course. what a bloodbath, huh?"
"what do you want, Rouge?" Firefly snarled.
"oh, nothing. i served my purpose."
"and what would that be?"
"to spy."
"on me?"
"no. on the army. i was to see if they failed, which they did, mostly. they were supposed to kill, not steal. but, i guess, i don't blame them for not going up agaisnt you after your.......performance..."
"what are you talking about?"
"oh, don't play dumb. you know what happened. you used a power. one no one has seen in, oh i don't know...... a century, maybe?"
"what do you mean?"
"your power, genious. the red blast that came from your body, that was all you. you have some kind of power that hasn't been used in a very long time. do you have any idea how rare it is? how powerful it is? do you even know what it is you have?"
"no. i've never used it before now. what is it?"
"you're kidding, right? everyone knows about it. there are stories, legends of dragons that possessed such great power. they were heroes. they were....... unbreakable....."
"unbreakable? you mean, they were invincible?"
"hardly. but only a dragon as powerful as themselves could defeat them. and they normally died by sacrificing themselves to save the world. they somehow came back though."
"what are you talking about?"
"wow, you really are dumb, arn't you? only someone who's been living under a rock for like eternity wouldn't know what i'm talking about."
"and what exactly are you talking about?"
"you'll fine out for yourself....... sooner or later......" Rouge winked with a smirk. then she was gone in the blink of an eye. Firefly sat down, and thought.
"do you think it's true.......? am i really........ i mean.........do i actually............ i don't actually have that much power........ do i.....?" she muttered.
"i don't know, kid...... but i have a feeling...... we're going to find out......" Flash said.

wait so tundra got snatched up too along with the others?

Firefly: i'm just saying, be careful around me because of my power.
Zanna: speak for yourself. i'm just stuck with visions over here.

Chapter 77: The Choosen One

tired from earlier events, Firefly and Flash fell asleep on top of the mountain, where the battle once took place. Flash was sound asleep on a rock, but Firefly was tossing and turning in her sleep. she was dreaming.
"......what is this place.......?" she muttered to herself as she gazed at her surroundings. she stood on a small floating platform. she looked to see more floating platforms leading to a much larger one. the larger one seemed to have a vision pool in the center. curious, Firefly glided from platform to platform, until she reached the large one. then she thought she heard something, like the sound of footsteps. "....hello.....? is someone there......?" she asked as she looked around. then she heard another sound.
"..........Firefly......." a female voice echoed.
"..............who's there........?" she asked as she looked around. she didn't see anyone until she gazed across at the other side of the vision pool. standing there, was a large dragoness with dark red scales. she had six white horns, and a white tail-end shaped like a blade. she gazed at Firefly with blue eyes.
"welcome, child." she spoke in a calm and sweet mannor.
"........w--who are you.....?" Firefly asked. the dragoness smiled.
"my name is Fireflight. i am your great ancester." she replied in a cheerful voice.
"you........? i'm related to you.......? the great hero everybody has been talking about......?" she gasped in shock. Fireflight chuckled lightly.
"the very same. i spent my lifetime protecting my friends and family, and saving the world. that was my destiny, my legend. now, it is your turn, Firefly."
"my turn....? but..... what can i do.....?"
"you have already witnessed a meer taste of your true power."
"a taste......? i can do more.....?"
"oh, my, yes. you can do far more then you think you can."
"how much more.....?"
"as much as it takes to fullfill your destiny."
"and what is my destiny exactly.....?"
"you are the Choosen One, Firefly. The Descendant. my descendant. my blood runs through veins, along with it, my power. but not all of it."
"what do you mean....?"
"where i possessed many elements, you only possess one. but you have the most important one. the one element that proves you are a true descendant of my family line."
"and what element is that....?"
"Empathy."
"Empathy......?"
"indeed. you are an Empath dragon, my dear, Firefly. which means your power comes from your emotions."
"i don't understand....."
"remember the battle from earlier?" she asked. Firefly nodded. "the power you used was triggered by anger. the anger was caused by a dragon who harmed your father. when you felt that strong emotion, you began to glow. and because of that strong emotion, you used a strong fury. technically, it was faint, a meer taste of your full potential. although, it was enough to scare off your enemies."
"i still don't really understand......."
"well, although powerful, this particular element is hard to explain, learn, teach, and master. only one who has experianced this power can truly understand it."
"how did you master it.....?"
"well, my power isn't quite like yours. you may not know it, Firefly, but you have a very unique form of Empathy. you possibly have the strongest form of it, Pure Empathy."
"Pure Empathy.......?"
"yes. it means you are soley an Empath. you have no other elements or powers, so your Empathy has been increased to make up for your lack of elements."
"what do you mean......?"
"it means you have the full extent of Empathy, and you are the first Empath dragon to harness its full power. every Empath before you had others elements and powers, so our Empathy was decreased to only a powerful fury. we could do nothing more with it because of our other powers. but you, Firefly, have nothing else, so you may very well be the most powerful Empath. but i am afraid you will not be truly powerful until you learn to control and master this power. because Empathy is your only power, you will need to learn it quick, and learn to use it well. without it, you must rely solely on physical attacks."
"what all can it do.....?"
"oh, my, many things. Empathy is so much more than just power. with the full extent of Empathy, you can turn the strongest emotions into destructive furies. you can also sense others emotions, feeling what they feel. with that, you can tap into thier power, which is tied to thier emotions. once you tap into their power, you can use thier very power against them, making it your power. but you do not need to tap into others for power. a good Empath learns to not hide their own emotions. if you ever feel a strong emotion, let it out. it just may help you."
"what will letting it out do......?"
"well, it all depends on the emotion. diffrent emotions lead to diffrent powers and abilities. learn which emotion does what, and you may possess your own elements through Empathy. you must learn to master this power, Firefly. it is all about control. know when to hold it back, and when to let it all out. you are a true Empath. a true descendant of my family line. you are the first empath since my time. you are greatly needed in the world now. you have the power to save the world from evil, and rid it of darkness. you are the one destined to vanquish evil. you are the Choosen One." Fireflight's words faded into silence as Firefly awoke from her dream. she sat up, and gazed at the night sky.
"i'm an Empath.........a descendant of Fireflight.........i'm the Choosen One........i won't let you down, Fireflight........i promise....." she whispered to the stars above.
