The morning sunlight hit my eyes, and i was awake. I sat up and opened my eyes, expecting to hear the gentle buzz of a fan and see the familiar look of my room. Instead, I hit my head on a branch.
Right. Now at my house. Somewhere in the middle of Mexico.
I got out a few granola bars out of the backpack and took out the laptop. I checked who's online. A few people i didn't know, Adria, Black Dragon, Fayveer, Solister...I decided to PM fayveer.

I got out the camera(turned out to be useful afterall)and took a picture of a drawing i made. I uploaded it to the computer and showed her.

wow, thats really good. how did you get better so quickly?

I wondered that myself. The picture was way better than i'd ever drawn. Maybe it was being able to actually see dragons in real life. I mean, when you and your friends are able to turn into dragons, don't you think you'd be better at drawing them, too?

Oh. I've just been practicing a lot.

I quickly typed then closed the laptop and put everything in the backpack. I saw a girl's face in the window, then she quickly ducked. I had to keep them from getting in there and seeing her. I quickly put on the backpack and ran to the other side of the house. The girl ran into a room and stood at the entrance, the door just cracked. Then i heard some crying inside.
She must be protecting her siblings.
I heard the familiar crash of a window and i saw the robbers climb into the house. I ducked my head just below the window so they couldn't see me, then when i looked again they were heading into the room. I couldn't let them get in there. I ran to the other side and went through the window, then heard a scream. I ran for the room, and opened the door. Ugly and Uglier turned their heads, then a look of pure horror crossed their faces. I had to keep them afraid of me, so i smirked.
"recuerde yo?" i said, using some of the few words i knew in Spanish.
And, for those of you who don't know what that means, i said 'Remember me?"
Ugly got out a gun and pointed it at the girl, while Uglier talked into a walkie-talkie.
"Movimiento y she' s muerto!" Ugly said, and the girl's face turned white.
Even though i didn't know spanish that well, i figured it was a threat about shooting her, so i stood still.
Then, i heard more people coming into the room, and there was about five more people in the room.
Oh crap. I thought, looking around. There were too many people.
I thought about everything that had happened. and i came to the conclusion; i knew there was only one way to save this girl and her siblings. and at this time, as far as i was concerned, my only purpose was saving them.
I walked up to Ugly(yep, thats my official nickname for him.)and put out my hands. He put away the gun, and let go of the girl. Then uglier tied my hands and feet, and they put me in their car. Apparently they were caucious of my dragon-changy ability, and so they tied me to the seat, and put a tarp over me. Then, as the car started to move, I knew that i'd probebly just commited suicide.

After a long time the car finally came to a stop. Ugly and Uglier untied me from the seat and led me to a warehouse.
An abandoned warehouse. How typical. I thought. They locked me in a room and left me alone in the giant cold room. At least they untied my hands and feet. I looked out the window; the only sorce of light; the only way of escape. too bad it had metal bars on it. okay, what were these people thinking when they built it. 'Put metal bars on the windows, we don't want the sofa to escape' I laughed, and heard the echo all over the room. "creepy." I said quietly, then sat down against one of the walls. I took out the bag of Doritos and ate them silently, wondering if i'd ever get out. I wiped my hands off, then got out the laptop. I sighed, then opened it, and looked at who's online.
Alondra2264 was the only name that meant anything for me. I clicked her name, then pm'd her.
Subject: Alondra, read this.
Message: I need help.

Alondra was the first to wake up. She looked at RC, who was way inside her sleeping bag, then at Karen, who was lying on top of it, with ear buds still in her ears, and the cd player still playing tick-tock loudly enough to be heard. She rolled her eyes, and grabbed her laptop. She went on random sites, trying to stay off DarkSpyro. It was just noon when she had nowhere else to go onto, so she finally went on it. Karen and RC were still sleeping.
i'm giving them ten minutes. She thought, then looked at her pms. One new PM. She opened it and saw the sender.
Pinkdesi101.
She almost thought to delete it, but then saw the subject, and she clicked it.
Subject: Alondra, read this.
Message: I need help.
"oh no." She said, then replyed.
message: We're coming
"Both of you, get up. Now. We need to leave."
This got groans and complaints.
"Give us a few more minutes, Alondra." Karen said, the words slurred from tiredness.
"Yeah. It's still dark out." RC mumbled.
"Thats because your in your sleeping bag, genious. Get out of there now. Desi needs help."
That, of corse, got Karen up, but it still took some pursuading and bribing(burritos)to get RC up.
"Come on, we need to find out where she is. Let's go." They flew to the top of the building, then jumped off and flew to find Desi.(well, me )
"Do you know where she is?" Karen asked.
"No, i didn't really remember to ask." Alondra answered, keeping her gaze in front of her.
"WHAT?! How are we going to know where she is?!" Karen yelled.
"Well, I'm sorry that I was worried about Desi's safty so much that i forgot to ask that question!"
They were all silent for a while until they heard something. Wingbeats. and not their own.
"Quiet!" Alondra said, listening carefully, then she yelled "Scatter!" She and Karen tucked in their wings and plummeted, while RC sky-rocketed upwards.
"Who's following us?" Karen asked, through all the mayhem of their chaotic flying.
Alondra looked backwards, and saw a dragon following them. He used shadowfire, and Alondra pushed Karen out of the way.
"Great, now we not only is Desi missing, we also have evil dragons chasing us. What else could go wrong?" Karen said.
Alondra turned her head again, and instinctively blew ice crystals at the dragon. He screamed and fell down, turning back to human. Another dragon came out and grabbed him. She turned her head and looked at Alondra, and she knew. She had just made an enemy.
"Kelp!" She yelled. "Get back!"
Another dragon dropped and flew beside her, then they both flew off. RC came back after a few minutes.
"Who were they?" She asked.
"I don't know," Alondra said. "But we know the one that was chasing you is Kelp."
"Come on, we need to keep going." Karen said.
"No, we need to rest, its almost midnight. We need to rest." So they all spent the night under some sage brush. The exact same sagebrush that Desi(or i ) had spent the last night in.

I woke up and shivered. Even with my sleeping bag, it was so cold in the warehouse. I didn't even bother to eat any food; i wasn't that hungry, and the food needed to be saved, especially if i was going to be in there for a long time. I went deeper into my sleeping bag, trying to get a little warmer. Then, i got an idea. I found a few crates(i have no idea why there were empty crates in an abandoned warehouse) and burned them to start a fire.
I sat close to the only sorce of heat while i went on DS. I checked my pm's, but was mostly concerned with Alondra's.
Message: we're coming.
reply: I'm at an abandoned warehouse(go figure. So, we're people who can turn into dragons, yet i have to be kept in something so unoriginal.)
I heard the door open, and i shoved the laptop into the backpack before they could see it. But they weren't really concerned about me, exept maybe if i tried to escape they would've noticed.(too bad)
Then i noticed there wasn't just Ugly and Uglier, they had another person with them; Her hands were tied, and when they got to me, they just let go of her.
"Here, we got you some company." Ugly said, then they both just left. I went over to the person; she looked about twenty, she was tall and skinny, and she had a few ruby-colored streaks in her hair. I took a pocket knife out of the backpack(we thought of everything, didn't we?) and cut the rope. Okay, i know i could've just untied it, but i can be impatient, and it looked like Uglier went to boy scouts when he was young. Just thinking about the knot gave me a headache.
"Thank you." The person said.
"No problem." I answered.
"I'm Rose. What's your name?"
"Desi." I respond. Hey, if i'm going to be trapped in a warehouse for who knows how long, i might as well be friends with the only other person with me.
"How'd you get that fire started?" She asked.
"Oh. I've got a lighter in my backpack." I said casually.
"Oh." She said, and she seemed sort of like she'd gotten her hopes up when i said that.
"Why do you want to know?"
"Sorry, i can't tell you." She replied.
"Because...Because you wanted to know if i'm part dragon?" I whispered, and after a minute of akwardness, she nodded.
"Then there are more of us on earth. I knew it. Do you know of anyone else?" She asked.
Okay, in some movies, games, and whatnot, the a person will use someone to get information from their enemys. Well, i wasn't prepared to give away too much information yet, even if it could mean an ally.
"No." I answered.
"Oh."
"Can i see your dragon form?" I asked. She noded, stood back, and turned into a dragon, the same color of her hair highlights.
"I'm guessing your a blue and pink dragon." She said.
"Wha-how did you know?" I stammered.
"Your hair." I grabbed some of my hair. She was right. There was a streak of light blue, and pink.
Hmm, Rose knew more than i did about human/dragons. Maybe i could learn a thing or two before i was rescued...

"So, why are we here? And how come we're able to turn into dragons?" I asked, confused.
"We don't turn into dragons. We're dragons turned human." Rose answers.
"Wait, what?! Your saying i was a dragon at birth...hatching...whatever!" My mind was swirling with questions.
"If a dragon is hatched in a different world, raised in a different culture, he or she can transform into anything. And in this case, human."
I stayed silent. So, i was a dragon? I wasn't human at all?
Rose seemed to know what i was thinking. "No, you are human...It's complicated. You have human DNA in you, or else you would've been dead the first time you got a cold. It's sort of like you have two different types of DNA in you, exept the human part has been more dominant for this long. But the dragon part takes control if you're in extreme danger, and a few other things."
"Yeah, that didn't really help with my confusion too much." I said. I was getting a serious headache from all of this.
"Once you've had more time to think about it, it will all be less confusing."
"So, how did we get here?"
"For a few, their parents believe that they'll have a better life in a different world. But for most..." Rose sighed and closed her eyes. "Shadow. She takes young dragons and eggs to earth, so there won't be as many dragons to try to stop her. Of corse, most don't get caught, but there are some that do, which turn out to be us."
"Wha- but- I..." I was speachless.
"Come on. You need to sleep." She said, and i nodded.
I looked through the backpack, found an extra sleeping bag, and tossed it to Rose. We both stayed close to the fire and tried to sleep. I don't know about Rose, but it took hours before i finally fell to sleep.

reply: okay, but hurry.
I put away the laptop, then Ugly and Uglier came in. They didn't come close to us, but then they did something i'd seen time and time before.
"Get behind me." Rose said, pushing me behind her. I put everything inside the backpack quickly. I knew we weren't spending another night in the warehouse. I put it on my back and transformed. So did Rose.
"Fyre." She said to Ugly, who apparently was now a black and red dragon.
"Rose." He replied, his eyes showed anticipation. To kill.
"Why did you capture her?" She asked, talking about me. "What can Shadow possibly gain from dragons she kept out of our world?"
Ugly, no-Fyre smiled. "What do you think?" He asked back.
Rose took a step forward. "No. You'll have to face me first."
"Gladly." He replied, then lunged.
