"If we must, we can stay out of sight." Pilila replied.

"Of course," Silvara said. "But we have to try to make trade."

"I'll try, but its kinda touch-and-go" Ki said

Kihei shifted back into human form "I understand we need to be human sometimes, but I don't like, nobody likes me in this form" He said

"Don't worry, Ki, was it? You'll get the hang of shifting eventually." Gabe said, as he fluidly shifted into his human form and walked alongside Silvara. "I commandeered a few more things for the journey, a few wallets I can only assume belonged to you guys. We might be able to stock up on more food while we're there, if they take U.S. cash, that is." Gabe said, feeling a bit guilty for raiding the 'contaminated items' bin on his way out. Granted, if he hadn't, they wouldn't have any of these at all... still, he had questions. "I'm just curious, but how did you guys get your powers?"

Varedis looked out into the distance, "It's a long story, but really I was born with it."

"For me, it runs in my blood, my family's progenitors are elder elementals or something... hey, do you hear that?" Gabe said, turning to face a nearby part of the wilderness, where it sounded like one person was arguing with themselves, or potentially two twins.

"Of course it was a good opportunity, idiot!"
"I'm not saying it wasn't, but at least there, we had food and water! We are going to starve here!"
"Of course not, we'll just do some hunting and find a stream to drink from."
"Even if that wasn't disgusting, what stream? What animals? I haven't seen a single one since we broke loose!"
"Well maybe if you weren't shouting so loudly, we'd actually see some prey!"
"Seriously, Xander? You're shouting just as loud as I am!"
"Well at least I'm trying to get us back home, Alex!"
"And what a freakin' fine job you're doing, ***hole!"

Just barely within eyesight, two identical anthropomorphic Dobermans were arguing, barely making an attempt to stay hidden. They both wore remnants of clothing that looked like they were from the same lab the others had escaped from, although it looked like a single set was divided amongst the two of them.

Silvara sighed. "If you're suggesting we take them along, I'm rather opposed to the idea."

*You named one Xander. His name had to be Xander. DANGNABBIT. This is for personal reasons, I actually know someone named Xander and HE'S A JERK.*

"Lets introduce ourselves" Ki said

Pilila looked at Bimcal; neither wanted to shapeshift into a human during this adventure.

Varedis faded into the shadows behind a tree and watchdd the newcomers warily.

Ki and Kihei walked up to the two Dobermans "Hello! I'm Ki and this is my friend Kihei" Ki said

Varedis walked out from behind them, "And I'm Varedis,"

Pilila and Bimcal introduced themselves as well.

The Dobermans were startled by the additional company, but didn't take it for granted at all. "Oh, uh, hi!" "Hello!" "Pleasure to meet you!" "You're one of us, right?" "Lab escapees?" "If not, still nice to meet someone." "The name's Alex, but you can call me Al if you'd like." "Xander's the name." "You guys know anywhere we can get food?" "Or water, we haven't had anything since last night." "Yeah, that's important, too." "We'd hunt, ourself, but someone just had to scare away the prey." "Hey, it's not my fault" The one who identified as Alex gave Xander a sharp elbow, but it didn't knock him as far back as one would expect. Instead, it looked like his elbow had stuck to Xander's body, before he sharply retreated it,, it unsticking just as fast.

Pilila blinked, "Nice to meet you two." She said slowly.

"Nice to meet you guys, we were about to head into a nearby town to get supplies before we find a more permanent home, can you guys change back to humans?" Ki asked

Kihei walked over to Xander "Why do you and your brother argue like that?" He asked

Varedis had clocked on to the elbow "sticking" to the other brother, Hmm, I wonder what that could mean... he though to himself.

"Well, the thing is..." "You see..." "We argue all the time, but" "Usually Lex is the one that would break us up." the twins explained, their ears drooping in sadness.

"Oh gods," Gabe said, frowning as he went to pat Alex on the shoulder. "I'm... I'm sorry for your loss."

Alex brushed aside Gabe's hand, without the curious phenomenon that Varedis had noticed occurring. "Don't feel that bad, he's still alive, but..." he said, quickly continued by Xander "...he's still trapped in that facility, they separated him from us a while back."

"Still trapped? I think a sneak-in break-out may be necessary here."

"We need to get your brother Lex" Kihei said

Ki was nervous about going back to the lab, he had used the thought of Ura to comfort him when they were in there, but now she was gone, he was scared

"How about a carefully chosen few who can sneak in and sneak out, break out if necessary, a team that's stealthy, cunning fast, a team with people like me in it," said Varedis,

"Assss am I." Bimcal hissed out.

"Exactly," replied Varedis, "So how about it?"

The two dobermans perked up, at this suggestion. "I'm all for it!" "Me, too, count me in!"

Gabe scratched his beard, trying to figure out how the group should be divided. "Okay, we'll have to decide who goes... but you two seem like you'd be as stealthy as Archer and Lana, what with all of the arguing."

Varedis considered it for a second, "True, but I think it may work out," I also want to test out a theory I have concerinign the too.

"Do take into account that me and Pilila don't want to become human." Bimcal said.

"If you can be stealthy in taht form, then I don't see the problem,"

"I'm not going back, its too scary for me this time" Ki said

"I'll go, if three people go, we can get in and out fast" Kihei said

"We probably should come along, too." Xander said, stepping forward. "We can sort of sense where he is, making it quicker... and if things go south, we can always bash a few faces-"

"-No, seriously, we are not killing any more researchers than we need to." Alex said, frowning at his 'brother'.

"Really? I just said if things go south. I know that at least some of 'em are just there for the paycheck." Xander said, shrugging.

"If it comessss to it, I will ussse my ssskillsss,thosssse that I remember, that isss." Bimcal hissed out.

Gabe snagged a phone from his satchel, quickly punching his number and name into the contacts, setting the phone to 'vibrate'. "This looks pretty sweet, actually... Mass Effect, right?" he said, barely recognizing the logo on its case.

"Yeah, it's a pretty sweet series, got that case custom ordered." Xander said, perking up, before Alex piped up. "Too bad the ending was really-"

"Up-up-up!" Gabe replied, covering his ears. "I don't want to hear any spoilers. If I ever get to play video games again, I want to go into the series blind! At any rate, I think that we should lend it off to someone who won't fight over it... how about you?" he said, handing the phone to Kihei.

"But-!"
"C'mon-!"

"Um, how am I supposed to use a phone with dragon paws?" Kihei asked, he didn't want to change back to his human form

"Um... right, I forgot that not all shifters have, well, a 'hybrid' form..." Gabe said, as he rubbed the back of his head.

Silvara rolled her eyes. She had been leaning against a tree this whole time, waiting for the conversation to end. She was, however, paying attention to the twins.

Gabe sighed, as he put the phone in the hand of the nearest of the twins. "Listen, just don't jeopardize the safety of the others fighting over the damn thing. When you rescue your brother, just give us a call and we'll update you to exactly where we are."

"I think it would be a good idea if one of the twins stayed with those not going to prevent arguments" Kihei suggested

"Yeah, I agree, we don't want something bad to happen to those who go." Pilila replied.

Shadow glared at the group and looked away, "It's a suicide mission. He could be dead and we walk into a trap. You sure you want to go back to that hellhole?"

((Momentary received technology back, dunno when ill come back on though...))

Silvara threw a branch at Gabe.

Varedis frowned, "I know its dangerus, but we cant just leave theri friend in there to be tortured, so whose coming?"

"Hmm, I ssshould." Bimcal offered, feeling that whoever it was that was in danger from that place should be helped.

"Okay, one of the doberbrothers?"

"Listen, we're begging you, please help us rescue Lex, we don't know what we'd do without him." Xander said, his ears drooping.

Alex began to follow up, as well. "If you do this for us, we'll do everything we can to help you guys out, prom-YIPE!"

Alex clutched his arm suddenly, and Xander did so in kind, as if they'd both been hurt in the same place. "Well, I can confirm he's alive..." Alex continue, a pained expression on his face.

"...but not well, those tasers ****ing hurt!" Xander said, rubbing his visibly uninjured arm.

"Which one of you is coming, I think only one because too many people is a bad idea,"

"I nominate that one." Gabe said, pointing to Xander, who was closest to him.

"Hey, but I-" Alex started to retort, before being interrupted by Gabe

"Don't want us to be here all day arguing over who gets to go, we don't have the liberty to waste time here."

Alex grumbled, before walking over to the crowd headed towards town. "Okay, fine, I didn't want to go to that hellhole anyways."

"Alright, so far, there's me, Bimcal and Xander, anyone elese?"

"I'll remain here, after all, I'm waiting on someone..." Shadow said

Silvara threw another branch, this time at the arguing twins.

Bimcal looked at Silvara, having seen the branch, "And jussst why are you throwing branchesss?"

"I'll go Gabe" Kihei said as he stepped forward

Ki went over to Alex "I'll make sure you're ok while they're gone" He said
