Ooc: Well.. It's codex time!

The Sacred Symbols
Each country has it's own form of mana. In ancient times, the best way to illustrate the usage of mana was through symbols, with each element having a different symbol. In modern times, these symbols re used as signs of royalty.

"Yes, it could. Or it could refer to mana, or more recently nobility." Marrius replied to Shadme as her lips twitched upward for a moment. "Of course, that would be an implication that one or all of us had enraged someone of power."

Not me, I hope, Shadmé thought. I've never been to Psyche! The only element I might have upset would be the Dewl...

"I know for a fact that isn't Psyche. The Archivist visited my countries queen recently. Her symbol was an eye. But an open one," Sashe states, shaking her head.

The Aetean tried to rack her brains for any idea, but wasn't able to think of anything. History wasn't her strong suit. Unless...
"Didn't you say that the Orc or whatever you faced came from somewhere you thought didn't exist anymore?" Shadmé asked. "Could this be the symbol for it?"

Marrius placed her hand on her chin as a small glint came to her eye, "And more specially, a country we know not the mana for. If Psyche is an open eye, given the symbol for mind affecting mana, it may be safe to assume that the closed eye represents the other half. Or, the opposite type to be more precise. Not that I have any recollection of studying a mana which would suit such prerequisites." She said as she walked. Her eyes glanced over to Shadme with a raise of her eyebrows. "It is a possible hypothesis."

ooc: My sister stated to me this morning that she'd enjoy getting to play with us, but she doesn't know where to come in as her character wouldn't have been able to logically know of the events taking place logically.

A dirt-eater strode into a Valhall Inn he had been informed Seraphina "The Raven" might be found. The matter for which he had come was urgent- a letter from Regine.

ooc: Will do. :3

Marrius turned back towards the road, continuing towards Psyche. "Now then, while theory is an interesting topic we should be moving. Shall we take our leave, Defiler? Dark Angel?" She said.

"I believe we should," states Sashe. "However, we can theorize while walking."

Ooc: In my op, I worded the concept of a countries destruction incorrectly. Say, if Banar was destroyed, earth would still exist, but it's mana would be gone.

ooc: @ AE:
It seems like a strange concept, one would imagine that the mana itself would remain. But, it's helpful that you explain that the political state of the land affects the magical.

"Very well, then theorize while you walk. Share opinions, by all means." Marrius replied with a small grin. "Theory and Strategy amuse me. Of course, that implies that I'm discussing it with someone of equal finesse."

"Yeah, let's go," Shadmé agreed. She followed behind, not sure if she should trust her comrades yet.

Ooc: ds you are the only cultist, I had forgotten to explain. Choose three of the seven deadly sins, and I will explain what power each gives you.

Sashe quickly gtates her hypothesis, "I believe the mana from hre destroyed country isasomething that blinds you on a emotional level."

The page walks into the tavern, looking around, and almost instant notices and heads towrad the Raven.

Marrius nods, "It could, I suppose. One could also draw the assumption of the mana acting in a different manner. Such as the mana of Psyche, being represented by an open eye is a flexible mana which can be used for control or to take apart the human mind. A closed eye could easily be that which closes the mind, leaving it without the touch of the outside world. This could affect emotional capability yes, but so could Psyche's with time and skill in the art." Marrius continued as she walked.

"However, some things, like love, I suppose, blind someone, and, with more tact and skill, manipulate them. I doubt the missing element is love though. The symbol would most likely represent love in a simpler way," Sashe replies.

Marrius will pause for a moment and nod, before continuing. "Yes, but that is part of the process of manipulation. Not love it self, but the forced change of the emotional process is a large part. To what extent, mind you, depends on how and who you preform." She then for a moment longer, before giving a shrug. "Controlling the body without the presence of the mind is another option. The closed eye meaning the lack of consciousness or a soul whilst a body acts under influence of mana. But once again, I only have the symbol itself and my knowledge of mana to base this off of."

Ooc: Btw, guys, my characters WILL get stuff wrong.

The messenger handed Regine's notification to the woman. It, in it's essentails, informed her of a need for aid, and a notice that a band of women will be traveling along the northern Valhallian border.

Ooc: PM me for exact wording.

ooc: Yea, but Marrius enjoys argument and debate. So she's having fun in this scenario.

Marrius will stop her debate as she glances between Shadme and Sashe, there is a long moment before she poses a question. "Tell me, Defiler, Dark Angel, I am sure both of you are aware of my... 'reputation' within Psyche," She starts, pausing to choose the word 'reputation' almost cautiously. "Is there any fashion you would choose to travel through the land? Of course, I have my ways. But should you be of weak stomach, well... it would be less than pleasant."

ooc: AKA, Marrius is asking if they travel legally or if Marrius takes her easy, less than morally sound, route.

"I don't care how we get through, to be honest. Whatever ways easiest. Defiler isn't a legally gained title if that's what your asking," replies Sashe. She then looks, slightly expectantly, at the Dark Angel.

"No ma'am. Regine never even specified wether or not these women were aware you would join them. I believe your best bet would be to camp along your border with Joton. Just so you know, these three women have gained... a bit of popularity. Infamy in the cases of two. They are known as 'The Defiler,'The Puppet Master,' and 'The Dark Angel,'" the messenger offered, before turning and walking for the exit.

"Your indifference certainly shall aid in our swift passage through." Rius replied to Sashe with a gesture which vaguely resembled a mock bow.

"Now, Shadme. I don't suppose you are as okay with this notion as we?" Sashe asks the Aetian, a smirk curving across her face.

OoC: Urk, sorry guys. I was busy this weekend.

Shadmé had watched Sashe and Rius as they spoke, listening to their input before adding her own. She was the type to stand by and observe, blend, before jumping into the flow of things. In that sense she was quiet, almost mysterious. A Dark Angel in more than one way.
Her brown eyes flicked to Sashe, no emotion showing on her face, then to Rius. "It'll take a lot to shake me up," she grunted. Despite her age, she'd witnessed- and been involved in- her fair share of immoralities. "I'll take you up on your easy route idea, Marrius."

Rius will raise an eyebrow and her lips will pull into an amused smirk. "Very well, then. I will get us through my homeland post haste." She says with a gesture of her hand. The elf then went on to speak once more. "We'll need to find a decently traveled road. Once we do that, I can get us passage throughout Psyche."

"Decently traveled? This sounds quite interesting. It definitely sparks my curiosity. Why, exactly, is the road well traveled your requirement?" Sashe questioned, her smirk growing and growing with each word.

"Less time spent waiting." Marrius will reply with chuckle as if her intent was obvious. After a few moments Rius begins to explain. "We don't need a road of heavy traffic, but one with the promise of some weary traveler and perhaps their vehicle..."

OOc: Horse. My god. I think about 12-16 hours. But that prolly won't take that many posts, me thinks.

Sashe lightly chuckles at this, her gaze shifting to the sky, which has darkened considerably. "Maybe we should set up camp soon. I think we should make certain our camp isn't in a place of disadvantage. As we're still in Banar, I suggest we find a cave."

"Hmm," Shadmé said. She had a speck of an idea as to what Marrius' plan was, but didn't say anything aloud. She instead set her focus to Sashe. "That...or we could take this opportunity to travel. The night offers many ways of disguising oneself from the wandering eyes of a bystander."

"So it all boils down to wether or not Rius wishes one or the other. I see wisdom in either plan, but I'd prefer to make camp," Sashe states, giving a nearly imperceptible nod.

"Or we come to a middle ground where we travel long enough to reach my home within the border." Marrius proposes with a slight wave of her hand. "The only reason the spider came to me in a timely manner is the distance from my home to the border." She states with a certain level of distaste at the word 'spider'.

"Fair enough. Will your name for that shapeshifter change if we ever find it's true form?" Sashe asks. Her dislike for the creature was great, though traced with respect of its tactics.

"Perhaps." Rius replies to the Defiler," But that is of no real meaning at the moment as while I would love to force it to re-evaluate it's choices, we do have other priorities such as whom it serves."

"Works for me," Shadmé compromised. From what she had heard from them, the destroyed town had been alerted to the the Puppet Master via a shapeshifting spider monster. If the most sly of the Psyche could be swayed by such a being, they'd have to remain on guard.

"'Twas merely a thought. I do wonder what it's true form was. Most anyone can learn how to shift forms with proper training. Some species, like Divnar, have said ability from birth. We really have no clues as to where it came from or what it is," Sashe states.

Divnar
A race of warloving people. In their natural form, they are frail and weak, appearing to be miniature, grey skinned orcs. However, they are born talented shapeshifters. They are required by the Din (a sort of law that only binds Dinvar) to choose a morph at birth. They may augment their forms, but may not stray to far from their original form.

ooc: I a suggestion for the codex. You should totally write it in a Google doc or something. Or at least that which would be common knowledge (such as the symbols of the country or important land marks). That way when you want us to get information or to point out facts specific to the world you could point us to a section in the codex/google doc. Of course, that is easier said than done. :3

"Yes, yes they do. And yes we still have no real insight as to what we're dealing with other than a few minor clues." Rius will state, her smile widens eerily as she speaks, "But that is the aspect that makes this game worth my time."

"I wonder wether the orc can access mana from the country he comes from. If so, he could be a much more formidable enemy, as we don't know his abilities or the extent to which he can use them," Sashe muses.

"It is a logical assumption, however we neither have proof of this mana still existing nor that it can still be used. IF the country fell and the people remained it is possible that it is used as a symbol rather than a power." Rius stated as she walked. She then pulled a king piece from her pack. "However, should the people have died out while someone claimed the country... Well, that is a different story." She held the king piece with a certain level of what could be compared to respect if she didn't speak with a tone that put herself above it.

"Hm. I do believe we have reached the border, just so you know. But I see nowhere to make camp, unless we find a reason to do so in the present landscape," Sashe notices. The land has leveled out, though it does have peculiar small hills distanced from eachother.
