sorry that i haven't written more of this one. i've been busy.

It's alright

ok, i finally wrote more. sorry that it's been a while.


Fireflight and the others followed Tyrus far up north. Omen kept a close eye on him while the others simply followed Tyrus. they soon reached many mountains, all covered with snow. harsh cold winds blew as it began to snow.
"a blizzard is forming! we better land somewhere safe!" Tyrus hollered.
"but where?! i can't see anything through all this snow!" Fireflight cried out.
"over here!" Tyrus yelled as he flew in an opening to a large mountain. the others followed his voice, and they landed inside. they now stood in a large, dark cave.
"where are we?" Fireflight asked as she looked around. she could see the cave led to a long dark tunnel.
"who cares? we're out of the storm. hopefully, it'll end soon, and we can keep going." Nightflight said.
"this place does not look familiar." Omen said.
"look, Night's right, we're out of the storm. lets just rest for now." Tyrus said.
"don't call me Night." she said. Aurorah layed down.
"i guess all we can do now is wait for the storm to blow over." she said, softly. Omen layed bown beside her. Tyrus sat down by the entrance. Nightflight walekd towards the the entrance to the tunnel which was where Fireflight stood.
"maybe we could do some exploring while we're here." Night said.
"but we don't have a clue to where this tunnel leads." Fire said.
"which is why we should go explore." Night replied.
"that tunnel could lead to danger." Aurorah said.
"she's right." said Omen. "it is best to stay here."
"i think it might be fun to explore." Tyrus added.
"then lets go." Nightflight said as she took a step towards the tunnel.
"wait!" Fireflight blocked her path. "it may be fun to go exploring, but it could also be dangerous. besdies, the storm will blow over eventually, and i would like to get out of here. i'm needed back home, and i don't plan on staying here for too long." she said.
"fine. you can stay here, and we'll go explore." Night said. then she and Tyrus began walking down the tunnel. Fireflight sighed as she watched them walk away.

back home, everyone was in the library. they were talking about the previous incident.
"now, everyone settle down." Goldstar's voice was heard over the uproar. everyone stopped talking, and listened to what she had to say. "i know we are all thrilled to have that dragon gone, but now we have a new problem. he is now stuck in the Wasteland, with Fireflight. even though his powers were stripped from him, he can still fight her. we must bring Fireflight back to us without bringing him back as well. we'll need to open a portal. we'll need to--" then Goldstar was interrupted by a loud knock at the main entrance of the mountain. everyone looked around, curiously, wondering who could have found them out here.
"i'll get it." Frostbolt finally spoke. then he got up, and walked out of the library. Goldstar turned to the others.
"well, shall we continue?" she asked them. they turned towards her, and nodded. "now, we will need--"
"Goldstar! you might want to come here!" Frostbolt hollered.
"excuse me for a moment." Goldstar calmly said to the others. then she got up, and walked out of the room. she saw Frostbolt standing at the main door, blocking her view of whoever stood on the other side of the opened door. "Frostbolt, what is it? i was in the middle of a meeting and--" Frostbolt moved aside, and now Goldstar could see who it was. "oh my......" she breathed. standing out in the cold, nearly covered in snow were Targon, Evelyn, Talon, and Neona. they had traveled far to reach the others, and were worn out.
"hello there!" Targon broke the moment of silence with a cheerful greeting.
"hi." Evelyn sighed. she spoke softer with a deep breath, indicating she was tired.
"greetings." Talon bowed his head slightly.
"hello. may we come in?" Neona asked.
"oh, sorry. of course. come in." Goldstar answered. the four scrambled inside, and sat down. they took a deep breath, and sighed. Frostbolt closed the door, and then turned towards the others.
"so, what brings you here?" he asked.
"and how did you know where do find us?" Goldstar added. they looked up at them.
"we need your help." Evelyn said.
"my wolves have been slain." Neona told them.
"as well as many others." Talon added.
"we want to help stop him. the dragon. we came across him once while we were coming here. we fought him off, but it didn't seem to do much. he eventually just left. we haven't seen him since." Targon explained.
"the reason why you haven't seen hm is because he was banished to the Wasteland." Goldstar said.
"yeah, and so has Fireflight. but that was an accident."
"yes. the point is that Fireflight is now stuck there with him, and many other evil beings that have been banished. it may be nearly impossible for her to return to us. but we are trying."
"well then try harder!" Targon said.
"he's right. we need Fireflight. we can't stop him without her." Evelyn added.
"i hate to admit this, but they are right. we need Fireflight." Neona said.
"we must bring her back. what can we do to help?" Talon asked.
"i'm afraid nothing." Goldstar answered. "even we elders are having difficulties bringing her back. i have even spoken to higher powers, and they can not help us. we may have to face facts that there is nothing we can do."
"that's bull crap! there has to be something!" Targon said.
"he's right. isn't there something we can do?" Evelyn asked. Goldstar sighed.
"i suppose i could try to speak with the higher powers again." she said. then she looked at Frostbolt. "Frost, get them settled in. tell the other elders that they are here, and are willing to help. get everyone together, and make sure everyone is doing something to help. we'll need all the help we can get to bring Fireflight back and stop that dragon." she said.
"yes, mame." he said, nodding. then he turned to the others. "come on, guys, lets get to work." he said. then they followed him into the library. Goldstar sighed, and then teleported out of the mountain.

Fireflight layed down in the cave with the gryphons while Nightflight and Tyrus walked deeper into the cave. Night and Tyrus walked down a long, dark tunnel, and soon reached a large, circular room.
"that's it? it leads to a dead end?" Night asked, unamused.
"maybe there's a secret tunnel or something." Tyrus said.
"i guess that's possible..." Night muttered. then suddenly, there were large flashing lights, and the sound of thunder. then a large, black portal appeared. "hey, look! it's a portal!" Night exclaimed.
"i wonder where it leads..." Tyrus said. then a loud roar could be heard, and something quickly flew out of the portal. it roared, and then raced for the exit before Night and Tyrus could tell what it was.
"more impotantly, what the heck was that?!" Night asked. then the portal dissappeared. "great. now the portal's gone." she groaned.
"i don't know what that was, but we should head back to the others." he said. then they ran back down the tunnel. they found Fireflight and the gryphons standing around, confused. Fire walked up to Night.
"did you see it?" she asked her.
"the black thing that flew out of here? uh, yeah, it came out of a portal." Night replied.
"a portal? you saw a portal? where does it lead to?" Fire asked.
"we don't know. it dissappeared before we could check it out."
"that beast looked like another one of your kind, only smaller." Omen spoke.
"it appeared to be younger." Aurorah added.
"it is possible it was a dragon. it did look like one." Tyrus said. then Fireflight gasped.
"what?" Night asked her.
"what if it's that dragon?!" she said.
"what dragon?" Tyrus asked.
"the young evil dragon that has caused nothing but trouble back home. everyone has been trying to find some information on him, or something. but we've had no luck. dispite his appearance, he's very strong." Fireflight explained.
"what would such a dragon be doing here?" Omen asked.
"perhaps he was banished as well." Aurorah said.
"or he just wants to kill my sister, which is understandable." Night said.
"i don't think that's very funny." Tyrus said.
"i wasn't trying to be funny." Nightflight told him.
"look, it doesn't matter what he's doing here. we need to be careful. that dragon has murdered many back home, and stolen a lot of powers. he is very dangerous, and could do a lot of damage here." Fire said.
"then we must stop him." Omen said.
"indeed. but, Omen, promise me you will be careful." Aurorah said.
"i will, Aurorah." he replied.
"i will help fight him as well." Tyrus said.
"thank you everyone." Fireflight said. "Night, are you going to help?" she asked.
"why? do you expect me to?" she asked.
"not at all. i was just asking. i could use your help." she said. Night sighed.
"oh, alright. i'll help stop the big bad dragon." she said.
"good. ok everyone, prepare yourselves for battle." Fireflight said.

Goldstar teleported outside two large double-doors. they soon opened, and she walked inside. the doors closed, and locked themselves.
"Illyria, i'm back..." she said. she heard footsteps coming towards her, and soon saw Illyria standing there.
"for what reason do you have for your return......?" she asked, calmly.
"it's about Fireflight again. i know you said there's nothing i can do, but now Angelus is banned along with her. i can't leave her alone with him."
"so you wish to know of her wealfare.......?"
"yes please."
"very well then........" then there was a blinding flash of light. then they appeared in the vision pool room. they sat down at the vision pool on opposite sides. "......to see what you will.......look into the vision pool........" she spoke softly. Goldstar looked inside. she saw Fireflight with the others. she saw everything that happened up until something flew out of the portal.
"i saw........everything.........they have encountered something........."
"indeed.......what else do you see......?"
"that is all........i see nothing else........"
"because nothing else has happened..........they are fine...........for now........." she said. Goldstar looked at her.
"Illyria, i wish to know more.........about Angelus......"
"then i can not help you........."
"why not?"
"there is nothing.........no information on him.........he is new, he is young..........there are no records of him..........those who know of him.........have been slain.........very few remain who know of him........."
"please, Illyria, i must know more......."
"i am sorry........i can not help you.......even i know very little about him........."
"then tell me someone who does know something about him..."
"there are two..........who know quite a bit..........but.........you will have trouble reaching them.........."
"can i reach them?"
"it is not impossible..........they are the ones who you sent........the ice dragon to........."
"his adoptive parents......"
"yes.........they are indeed the ones who will know the most.........though one will be impossible to find........"
"i only need one to tell me about him..."
"very well..........then the mother will be easier to reach.........her whereabouts are the mountain........"
"the one i sent Frostbolt to......."
"indeed..........seek her there.........the father will be nowhere around.........speak to the mother.........she will tell you what you desire......."
"thank you........" Goldstar said. then there was a blinding flash of light, and Goldstar found herself standing in a forrest. she could see a tall mountain in the distance.

Fireflight and the others flew out of the cave after the storm passed. they landed on top of the mountain, and looked around for Angelus.
"look!" Nightflight cried out. she pointed to a pack of wyverns who were attacking a young, black, male dragon.
"that's him!" Fireflight said. just then, Angelus tore the wyverns to shreds. then he slowly turned his head, and spotted the others. an evil grin appeared on his face, and he threw his back and roared. he then raced towards them, ready to fight. then suddenly, there was an eagle-like schreech. Angelus turned his head to the right to see a large gryphon race towards him. it was mostly black, with grey and white markings on it. it had grey stripes on it's wings and tail. there were grey stripes on it's back. it had white ear tips, and white inside wings. it had a grey beak, and a grey stripe came from her beak, and went down her neck. it had a white stripe above each eye, and three little white spots below each eye. with another loud screech, the gryphon lunged at Angelus, and began clawing at him viciously. Angelus fought back, biting and clawing at it. he then pushed it away. then he swung around, and hit the gryphon with his tail. then the gryphon started falling towards the ground, spiraling out of control. Fireflight roared, and then flew towards Angelus. Night and Tyrus roared, and then flew after her. Omen screeched, and joined her as well. Aurorah watched worriedly from the mountain top as they all closed in on Angelus. Angelus smirked, and began to attack them. they all fought back, biting and clawing at him. then Tyrus roared before creating a heavy fog. Angelus then laughed. he quickly and quietly made his retreat. as he flew away he hollered,
"we will meet again, Firefly! and next time, you won't have friends helping you!" he yelled. the fog soon cleared, and they looked to see he was gone. Aurorah flew over to the others, and after making sure they were all ok, they landed on the ground near the other gryphon. they all stood around the gryphon, looking down at it. they could now see that this gryphon wore a light grey stone necklace. it also wore a similar bracelet on it's right ankle. there was a scar on it's left eye, but it wasn't from the previous fight. it appeared to be old. the group quietly muttered amongst themselves, wondering if the gryphon would wake. then the gryphon slightly opened up it's eyes. it looked up at the others, and then screeched angerly. it jumped up, and backed away from them. the others looked at the gryphon in confusion, wondering why it was so angery. Omen looked into the gryphon's dark blue eyes, and schreeched questionly. the gryphon squawked back angerly. Aurorah took a step towards the gryphon, but it screeched at her, angerly. she then backed off.
"why are you so angry with us?" Fireflight asked. the gryphon screeched angerly.
"she says she dislikes company." Omen translated.
"it's a girl?!" Night asked, surprised. the gryphon glared at her, and screeched even louder.
"she did not like that remark." Omen said.
"i didn't need you to translate that..." Night muttered. the gryphon continued screeching.
"she wants us to leave." Aurorah translated.
"why? we obviously have a common enemey. we all fought agaisnt that dragon." Fire said. the gryphon squawked angerly.
"she said she cared nothing for good or bad, she was hunting the wyverns. the dragon got in her way, and did the job for her." Omen translated.
"then why be mad at us? what did we do wrong?" Fireflight asked. the gryphon squawked angerly.
"we are tresspassing on her territory." Aurorah translated.
"why can't the bird speak for herself? i mean, what's with all the squawking? she's giving me a headache!" Night complained. the gryphon squawked even louder and angerier. "enough already!" Night growled. the gryphon screeched louder.
"Nightflight, be quiet. you are only making her more angry." Aurorah said.
"i don't care. she's giving me a headache!" Night said. the gryphon squawked rudely.
"she says that you give her a headache." Omen translated. "she also says that your kind does not deserve the priviledge of talking to gryphons. she does not wish to speak to anyone other than her kind, and she does not even want us here." he continued.
"well, i think we do deserve to talk to a giant bird." Night said.
"yeah, and she should talk to us so you two don't have to translate everything." Tyrus added. "besides, we don't even know her name, or anything else about her." he continued. the gryphon walked up to Tyrus, and looked him in the eyes.
"you wish to know about me?" she asked, calmly. despite her attitude, her voice was quite beautiful.
"yes, please." he replied. the gryphon chuckled lightly, and then backed away.
"what a waste of time." she said. then she started to walk away.
"well, good ridence!" Night snarled. then the gryphon turned her head back, and squawked angerly. then she flapped her wings, and flew away.

"how rude! that gryphon was so rude! Fire, wasn't she rude?" Night scoffed.
"in a way, yes. but she might of had a good reason for it."
"a good reason for it?! she was flat out mean!"
"like somebody else i know..." Fire gave Night a look.
"oh, please! like we're anything alike!"
"whatever..." Fire sighed.
"maybe we should just avoid her. she seems to be short-tempered." Aurorah said.
"like an empath." Fire added.
"so she is like a dragon. how funny." Tyrus chuckled lightly.
"that may be so, but that is not important now. you all must get home, and we must get rid of that dragon." Omen said.
"he's right. we don't have time to worry about a grumpy gryphon." Fireflight said. then the group took flight, and continued flying north.
meanwhile, back home...
"i bet that's it..." Goldstar muttered as she looked at the mountain in the distance. then she heard whisteling. "huh? who's there?" she looked around, and in the river, she saw a male beaver working on a dam. "oh, it's just a little beaver." she said. the beaver whistled as he worked. "excuse me." Goldstar said as she approached the dam. the beaver stopped, and looked up at her.
"well, howdy there, Goldy. ya need somethin'?" he asked.
"yes. my name is Goldstar. i'm looking for the adoptive mother of a black dragon."
"oh, wow. you're the second dragon today to come by here lookin' for him. my names Buck. just go on over to that hole over there, and ask for help. just mention that i sent ya, and everything will be just dandy."
"oh, ok. thank you." Goldstar said. then she walked on over to the hole. "excuse me." she asked as she looked down into it. then a fox poked his head out of the hole.
"well, howdy doll face, what brings you to my neck of the woods?" he asked.
"my name is Goldstar. i'm looking on for a white dragoness."
"oh, you mean Angel's mom? yeah, yeah, i know where she is, but i can't take you there. you'll need to talk to Digger, the burrowing owl. he can get you there. just say that ol' Red sent you, and that i owe him more fish or something. you'll find his hole under a shade tree by the pond. later." he said. then he was gone.
"ok, well, thank you." Goldstar said. then she walked on over to the pond. she was about to walk over to the shade tree, when she saw something on the ground. "oh, my......" she muttered. the body of a little burrowing owl lay on the ground in a puddle of blood. there were bite marks on the body, and it was covered in blood. ".....Digger......." Goldstar muttered. "now, what do i do?" she asked. then she went back towards the river. she walked back up to the hole. "excuse me." she said. Red poked his head out, and looked at her.
"well, doll face returns. what's the matter? can't find my friend?"
"um, actually........he's dead......"
"dead? oh, no..." he lowered his voice. the fox jumped out of the hole. he rushed over to the river. "yo, Buck! Buck!" he yelled. Buck stopped working, and looked at the fox.
"what'cha need, Red?" he called.
"somethings happened to Digger! hurry on over to the pond!" he told him.
"be right there!" Buck called. then the two rushed over to the pond with Goldstar right behind them. then they saw the body.
"oh, no......poor guy......" Red muttered.
"what happened to him.....?" Buck asked.
"i think Angelus did this to keep us from finding out about him. but i need information on him." Goldstar said. then they heard wing flaps, followed by quacking. the group turned towards the pond, and saw a single white duck swimming there.
"Pete! yo, Pete!" Red called. the duck only quacked as he swam. "hey, Petey!" Red yelled louder. the duck turned towards him.
"what's with the yelling, Red? i'm swimming here!" he quacked.
"we got a bird crisis over here!" Red replied.
"oh no...!" Pete quacked. then he hoped out of the pond, and ran over to them. then he saw Digger's body. "aw, poor Digger....." he muttered.
"excuse me," Goldstar looked at the duck. "but could you, by any chance, take me to see Angelus's mother?" she asked. the three animals looked at her.
"well, i suppose i could." quacked Pete.
"wonderful, thank you." Goldstar said.

yeah, i caught up.

that's great. for a second there, i thought it had been forgotten. ok, i can post more now.

Fireflight and the others continued flying North. they flew through a blizzard until thier wings flet frozen. they soon landed on the ground. they then stood in knee-deep snow, with snowy mountains all around them.
"i can't see through this blizzard!" Night called out.
"we need to get inside!" Tyrus said.
"inside where?! we're lost, and we can't see a thing!" Fire said.
"follow me!" they heard a female voice.
"who?! follow who?!" Tyrus asked.
"it wasn't me." Fire said.
"hey, i'm lost too, don't look at me." Night said.
"it is not i." Aurorah said.
"then it must be..." Omen began.
"just shut up, and follow me! i know these parts, and i'm the only one who can get you through it!" squawked a female voice.
"its her!" Night growled.
"the gryphon? but why? why are you helping us?" Fire asked.
"look, do you want to freeze do death?! just shut up, and follow me!" the gryphon squawked. then she started walking off into the distance. she squawked as she walked. the others followed the sound of her sqauwking. they soon found themselves in a cavern. it was a large cave, and it appeared to be someone's home.
"do you live here?" Fire asked.
"well, i certainly don't stay out there." the gryphon replied. "come on." she said. she led them deep into the cave. "you can each find yourself a room to sleep in." she said as they walked down a tunnel. on either side of the tunnel were many rooms. each one walked into a room, and layed down. Omen was on the right, and Aurorah's room was next to his. the gryphon's room was next to her's. Tyrus's room was across from Omen's. Fireflight's room was across from Auroah's, and Nightflight's room was across from the gryphon's room. everyone got settled in, and layed down to rest. night soon came. the blizzard calmed down, and stars filled the night sky. then a shadowy figure walked up to the cave entrance, and stood in the opening for a moment. the figure growled quietly, and then walked into the cave. it walked deeper into the cave before coming across the rooms where the others slept. it walked into Fireflight's room, and approached her. it leaned over her, and moved closer to her.
"time to wake up, now, Firefly." the figure spoke in a low male voice. then he chuckled softly. then Fireflight slightly opened her eyes, and looked up at the figure.
"........you........" she muttered, still tired.
"yes. it is i, Angelus." he chuckled. then he roared loudly. the others awoke, and jumped up. they rushed into Fireflight's room to find the two fighting each other. the others roared and screeched, and then joined in on the fight. they all ganged up on Angelus, and attacked him viciously. then Angelus roared, and threw them off of him. then he rushed out of the room, and ran deeper into the cave. the others jumped up, and stood there for a moment. they looked amongst themselves, wondering if they should chase after him. Fireflight growled, and nodded her head. Nightflight smirked, and nodded. Tyrus grinned, and nodded as well. the gryphons looked amongst each other. Omen screeched, ready for battle. he then looked at Aurorah. she then nodded. then they all turned towards the gryphon.
"alright. now is the time we fight that beast. he has gone deeper into my home, and there is where we will corner him. though, you must know that this cave has it's secrets."
"that's great, but can we just go kick his but now?" Night asked.
"wait, can we at least know your name?" Tyrus asked.
"fine." the gryphon sighed. "call me Zina. now lets go." she said. then the group followed Zina deeper into the cave.

read it....

the group followed Zina further into the cave. it wasn't long before they reached the deepest part of the cave, which was pitch black.
"i can't see a thing." Fireflight said.
"i can't either." Tyrus said.
"neither can i." Omen added.
"i, too, can not see." Aurorah added.
"well, i can see alright." Nightflight said.
"i can't see, but i know my own home." Zina said.
"how can you see?" Tyrus asked Night.
"hey, i'm a black dragon with the shadow element, i like the dark." she answered.
"well, this is the deepest part of the cave, but no sign of that dragon." Zina said.
"then where is he? where's Angelus?" Fire asked. then they heard a roar, and a figure began attacking them.
"it's Angelus! he's here!" Tyrus cried out.
"where?! i can't see a darn thing!" Fire cried.
"there! i--i think..." Zina screeched, pointing.
"i got him!" Night growled as she attacked.
"ow! stop clawing me! i thought you could see!" Tyrus groaned.
"well, you're in the way!" she said as she stopped. then they heard laughing.
"you fools will never catch me in the dark!" Angelus chuckled.
"i hear him! there! attack!" Fire cried out. then the group charged forward, and began vicously attacking. after a few moments of fighting, the room lite up as a lite blue portal magically appeared. the group turned towards the portal. "look! maybe that's the portal that we've been looking for!" Fire said. then before anyone could say anything, they were all sucked through the portal. then it closed once they all passed through it.

dun dun duuu

Fireflight opened her eyes, and moaned.
"ugh.............where..............where am i...........?" she muttered. she groaned as she raised her head, and she looked around. she and others were laying in a field of green grass. there were a few shade trees nearby, and she could here the flow of a nearby river. "hey, everyone, wake up!" she said as she began to shoke them. they awoke, and looked around.
"where are we?" Tyrus asked.
"is this..........? are we............? are we.................home.......?" Night muttered.
"i think so....." Fire said with uncertainty.
"well, this is surely not our world." Aurorah said.
"indeed. though, we still do not know where we are." Omen added.
"hey, where's that dragon? didn't he get sucked through the portal too?" Tyrus asked. the others looked around.
"do you think he's still back in gryphon-world?" Night asked.
"i don't know......" Fire answered.
"he's here." Zina said. the others looked at her, surprised. Zina stood up, and looked around. the others stood up as well.
"how do you if he's here or not?" Fire asked her. Zina felt a cool breeze gently blow on her body.
"not only did i see him get pulled through with us, but i know that anyone near the portal will get sucked into it." she said, calmly. then she looked at them. "congradulations." she said. they all looked confused. "you've made it home." she finished. the others gasped in shock.
"we're..........home......?" Tyrus asked in disbelief.
"but how.......how do you know.....?" Fire asked.
"because it is my job to gaurd the portal." Zina answered. the others looked even more surpsied.
"you mean, you guard portals for a living? that must be boring..." Night said.
"not at all. i live at the cave to gaurd the portal, and make sure that evil dragons do not return to this world from mine. the elders themselves gave me this job. they knew that upon going to the Wasteland, one could escape through any number or portals, one of which leading to my world. then from my world, there is a portal that leads to here. they wanted to make sure that an evil dragon could not make his or her way back here. so, they had me to gaurd the portal. though i may not be as strong as a dragon, i am still a skilled fighter, and you know very well that a dragon loses thier elemental abilitys when they enter my world. plus, any dragon sent to the Wasteland loses both powers and weapons, so a dragon sent to my world must rely on physical attacks, which is the only way a gryphon can fight, so that evens the playing field a bit. i had never failed at my job before, but now........Angelus has gone through the portal.......i have let the elders down, not only that, but i can no longer gaurd the portal........i thought for sure, with your help, i could prevent him from returning here, and then send you back home." Zina explained.
"wow........" Fire said. ".....so, we really are home......"
"yes, you are. now, if you excuse me, i need to find my way back." Zina said.
"we should go too. we do not belong here." Aurorah said.
"yes, but..." Omen started. the others looked at him. "...i would like to stay and help. i am a skilled fighter, and i wish to help any way i can. plus, i have no reason to return home, nor do i know how." he continued.
"great.....the birds are staying....." Night said, sarcastically.
"you are all free to stay here, but Angelus is even more poweful here in our world. i don't know how you could help in the fight agaisnt him now." Fireflight said.
"i will help in any way i can." Omen bowed his head, respectively.
"i will stay too." Aurorah said. "my main purpose was to help heal the wounds of warriors, and there are many such as myself that remained back in my world. plus, Omen was the one who came to me the most. it would not be the same without him."
"ugh. i'll stay too. for a little while anyway. i probally will return once Angelus is defeated. i do have a job, you know." Zina said.
"great. now, if we work together, we can stop Angelus." Fire said.
"that's great, sis, but don't you have friends here already who will help you?" Night asked.
"yes, i do. we'll start by meeting up with them." she said.
"great. i'd love to meet more dragons, and other creatures as well." Tyrus smiled.
"then it's settled. we can rest here for the night, and then tomorrow we'll meet up with the others." Fireflight said.

Pete led Goldstar to the mountain. it wasn't long before they landed at the entrance.
"thank you for your help." Goldstar said.
"no problem." Pete quacked. then he flew away. Goldstar knocked on the door. it soon opened, and a white dragoness stood before her.
"excuse me, would you happen to be the mother of a black dragon named Angelus?" Goldstar asked. the female looked worried.
"yes, i am." she said.
"then may i ask you some questions?" she asked.
"yes. come in." she said. then Goldstar walked in. the female closed the door behind her. Goldstar turned around to face her.
"may i ask for your name?" she asked.
"Seraphina." the female said.
"that is a beautiful name."
"thank you."
"can i ask why you are so worried?"
"i knew this day would come."
"what do you mean?"
"the day that Angel would be so............evil........that he must be brought to justice........i knew thi would happen......" she said. a tear rolled down her cheek.
"i'm sorry, but it is true. Angelus has terrorized the world, one dragon in particular."
"yes, Fireflight. i know."
"you do?"
"i have been watching through the vision pool.........though it pains me........i have been watching........."
"you really do love him, don't you?"
"of course.......whether he is my son or not.......i do love him.......but my love was not enough.........i could not prevent this......."
"what do you mean? have you always known he would end up this way?"
"no, not always...........i did not know from the start.........when his egg was left here.........i was......happy.......i had wanted a child of my own, but...........Damian would hear none of it......."
"Damian?"
"my mate...........he was...........a cruel dragon.............but i loved him.............he hated children...........though i adored them.........so, when the chance to have my own came.........i took it.........i showed the egg to Damian........but he hardly glanced at it..........he told me to get rid of that thing before it hatched..........i refused...........so, when i decided to care for the egg, he decided to leave me.........he cared nothing for the young, and hardly cared at all for me.........so, he left...........then all i had was the egg..........it soon hatched, and it was a joyous moment..........i named him Angel..........i had always loved that named, and planed to name my children that, if i ever had any............"
"so, was he good from the start?"
"it did seem that way, yes.........he was a sweet boy........though, he seemed to only be nice to me..........but even then, he only seemed to be rude to others..........then one day came...........he asked..........about his father..........i mentioned Damian, and how he never wanted children.........i said that Damian left me because i decided to care for a child..........this angered Angel..........he was angry that his father cared nothing for him, and didn't even care all that much for me...........though he was young........he flew off in search of his father...........i had not known it then............but hatred was already in his heart..........i assumed that when he set off to find his father, that he would tell him how he felt.........i figured they would argue, but.........i never would have guess that............when Angel finally found Damian..........he told him itmediately who he was, and that Damian was wrong for leaving me and him..............Damian hardly even listened to him..........he could have cared less.........though, he made no actions towards Angel...........but Angel............already angered, he became even madder...........he then struck his father, and a fight broke out..........my little Angel proved himself to be powerful, using various attacks agaisnt his father...........surprisingly, he won the battle.........but he didn't stop there............he attempted to kill his own father...........though, he was stopped..........his real mother prevented him from killing Damian............once Sunfire revealed herself to be his mother, another fight broke out........Angel was enraged to find out this truth..........he refused to believe that i was not his real mother...........then as they fought, Damian made his escape...........Angel defeated Sunfire, and then attempted to kill her as well............but her mate, Warclaw, his true father, came to the rescue..........yet another fight broke out..........which led to Warclaw's death...........and then...........Angel had his first taste of death............and he liked it..........but he didn't stop there..........he then killed Sunfire...........and continued the search for Damian..........but he never found him...........with the deaths of his true parents, anger and hatred filled his heart........he had become evil then, and then began being called Angelus..........it was then that he was no logner good..........from that moment on..........he prayed on the weak........he tortued souls..........he killed many..........he still searched for Damian, but had no luck.........as he grew older, his lust for death and destruction only grew stronger............though of all the creatures he had come across.........i am still the only one he has not attempted to kill.........the day he left me........was the last time i saw him.........." she said, tears running down her face.

Frostbolt and the others were researching in the library. everyone was hard at work, and the room was mostly silent, except for the sounds of books being taken off shelves, and pages being turned. then there was a sudden knock at the door. everyone looked up from thier books, and looked around.
"i got it." Frostbolt said. then he walked out of the library. the others continued researching. Frostbolt opened the door, and then gasped in shock. "Fireflight!" he cried out after a moment of silence.
"hello, Frostbolt." she smiled.
"welcome home! please come in!" he said. she walked in with Nightflight, Tyrus, Zina, Omen, and Aurorah behind her. Frostbolt looked at the gryphons, and wondered where they had come from. he then looked at Tyrus, wondering who that was. then he stared at Nightflight.
"what?" she asked, staring back.
"uh, nothing..." he muttered. the Frostbolt walked over to Fireflight, and whispered in her ear, "uh, Fire, who are these guys? and isn't that black dragoness....."
"they're friends of mine. i met them in a world of gryphons and wyverns. those bird-like creatures over there are gryphons. the male dragon is Tyrus, a wheather dragon. he said he was banned from this world for something. the other dragon is my sister, Nightflight. perhaps you have heard of her." she said. Frostbolt nodded slowly. "why don't you go get the others?" she asked. then Frostbolt walked away. the others walked up to Fireflight.
"he's a little......wierd..." Night muttered.
"he's just a bit uneasy around strangers." Fire said.
"well, i hope he comes back. i didn't get a chance to meet him." Tyrus said.
"don't worry, he'll be back, with others."
"others? how many are here?" Zina asked.
"oh, bunches. all of them are friends of mine."
"you certainly seem to know many creatures." Aurorah said.
"yes, it is the help of teamwork that causes us to defeat evil."
"so, you have done this before? stop other dragons?" Omen asked.
"oh, yes. lots of times. since i hatched from an egg, i have stopped countless of dragons, and other creatures as well." she said. then Frostbotl returned with Targon, Evelyn, Talon, Neona, and the elders. they all gasped when they saw thier guests.
"Fireflight!" they all said, smiling.
"hello all." she smiled at each of them. then she noticed someone was missing. "where's Goldstar?" she asked.
"she left to get information from the higher powers." Frostbolt said.
"that's good. though i hope she returns soon."
"me too." he said.
"so, why don't we all introduce ourselves?" Fireflight said. everyone nodded in agreement, and began introducing themselves to everyone else. after a while of talking, someone teleported into the center of the room. everyone turned to see that Goldstar had just entered the room.
"ok, i got some infomation on Angel--" she started to say. then she looked around at everyone. "Fireflight!" she gasped.
"hey, Goldstar." she smiled.
"you're back! how? what happened? are you ok? where's Angelus? did you see him?" Goldstar asked. Fireflight chuckled lightly.
"calm down, Goldstar. why don't we all get settled in first, and then i'll answer questions." she said.

everyone got settled in the library, and had a long chat. Fireflight told them everything that happened from the moment she was sent to the Wasteland. Goldstar and the others also told thier stories of how they ended up there, and everything that had happened. after everything was said, there was another knock at the door.
"i'll get it." Frostbolt said. he answered the door, and was then surprised. "Goldstar! you have a visitor!" he called. Goldstar left the library, and walked up to the door. Frostbolt moved aside, and Goldstar could see Seraphina standing in the doorway.
"Seraphina, what brings you here?" she asked as she walked up to her.
"i thought about it a lot and.............i want to help you...........my son.........Angel.......Angelus........he........he needs........to be brought to justice.........a creature such as him can no be allowed to roam free, and terrorize others........we must put a stop to his behavior........even if it means his death.........." she said with tears in her eyes. Goldstar nodded.
"come this way." she said. then Frostbolt closed the door, and followed them into the library. Goldstar introduced her to everyone, and then they sat down.
"everyone, it is time we put a stop to Angelus." Fireflight spoke. the others nodded in agreement. "i apreciate the fact that you all want to help me, but.........perhaps i should do this alone..." she said. the others gasped, and quietly talked amongst themselves. "i know you're shocked to hear this..." she said. all talking ceased. they listened intently to her words. "...but i believe i can defeat him alone...i may have to...i know mny of you have lost your powers to him, and that some of you may not stand a chance agaisnt him...i apreciate what you've doen to help, and i know you are all willing to do so much more, but...i can not risk it...i do not want to lose any of you...you are all dear friends of mine, and it pain me to lose you...which is why i should do this alone...now, if this were a war, or even a battle against numerous foes, then i would ask for your assitance in battle...but this is one dragon...a single evil creature...Angelus...it is my duty to stop him...i will use every bit of my power, my strenght, to put an end to his terrorizing...i will do whatever it takes to stop him...but i will not risk your lives...you have done everything in your power to bring me back safely...even if there was nothing you could do...well, now that i have returned, i am ready to face Angelus...i believe i am much stronger now, having to go thorugh the Wasteland and the Gryphon's world, just to get here...i am more ready now than i was then to fight...i know i can do this...i know i am strong enough to defeat him...i have never lost to an enemy in the past...i have always led our side to victory in a war...i have defeated countless of foes...i have brought peace to the world, time and time again...i have died, and have been brought back, only to become stronger than i was before...i am an empath...i have been an elder...i have been a whitelighter...i have raised a family...i have done many things in my lifetime...and i am not willing to quit now...i will not rest until Angelus has been defeated...even if it will be the last thing i do...nothing would make me happier than to bring peace to the world one last time...i will set out to find Angelus...and i will defeat him...and the world will be at peace again..." she said. she had a brave and determined look on her face as she held her head up high. everyone clapped and cheered for her, calling out her name. as everyone cheered, embracing the moment, Nightflight quietly sneaked out of the mountain.

after Fireflight said her farewells, she set out to find Angelus. as she flew, she saw a mountain in the distance.
"mine as well check there..." she thought. she flew for quite a while before she reached the mountain. she landed on the ground outside. she looked around to see that jagged rocks surrounded the area around the mountain. there were no grass, no trees, no signs of lfie near the mountain. she looked up to dark clouds all around the area. "certainly seems like the place an evil dragon would hang out." she thought. she looked around for an entrance to the mountain. she then spotted a cave entrance half way up the mountain. the side of the mountain was too steep for climbing, and the jagged rocks made it nearly impossible to even walk up to the mountain. "i'll have to fly up there." she said. she then spread her wings, and flew up the side of the mountain. she landed inside, and then started walking down a long, dark tunnel. she then walked into a large room with a tall ceiling. the room was dark, and it was hard to see.
"ah, Fireflight, how good of you to come." said a dark male voice.
"Angelus!" she snarled. he chuckled lightly.
"yes, you have found me at last. i figured you would come here. it seemed like the perfect place for our final confrontation." he said. then he roared, and the room was magically lite up by candels. then she saw Angelus standing on the other side of the room. he had pinned down a black dragoness, and had his sword held high. Fireflight gasped.
"Nightflight!" she said. Night groaned.
"yes, your sister got here only moments before you did. she wanted to fight me, but she was no match for me. i was just about to kill her when you arrived. and i am glad you did. now you can witness the death of your sister!" he said.
"no!" Fire cried out. then Angelus stabbed Nightflight through the heart with his sword. then a dark aura went through the sword, and then Angelus started to glow. he laughed evily as he got off of Nightflight. then as he glowed black, he started to change. his size began to increase until he was twice the size of Fireflight. he grew more horns, and now had six. his tail-end formed into a large, spiked, wrecking-ball-like tail. his claws got longer and sharper. the claws on the ends of his wings grew longer too. his teeth grew longer, and could now be seen even with his mouth closed. he now had large spikes from his head to the tip of his tail. he then threw his head back, and roared a thunderous, ground-shaking roar. he then glared at Fireflight with his dark, piercing eyes.
"now, it is your turn to meet your fate." he said in a twisted, monsterous voice. "prepare to die!" he roared.

Hmmmmmm.....i am not sure how this will end

Angelus charged at Fireflight with his sword held high. he then swung his sword to attack, but Fireflight quickly dodged him. he continued to chase after her, swinging his sword all around. Fireflight kept backing away, dodging each swing.
"i have to get away from him, unless i want to cut into little tiny pieces!" she thought. she then flapped her wings, and began flying around the room. Angelus flew after her, his sword raised. he then charged at her, ready to ram her with his horns. Fireflight quickly flew to the side, causing him to ram the wall. the wall cracked, and Angelus ended up going right through the wall, making a hole. Fireflight then flew after him. Angelus saw her fly after him, and then he proceded to the top of the mountain. he soon landed at the top, Fireflight landing after him. she then glared at him, and attacked with her fire breath. Angelus used his wings for a shield, and then countered with wind. Fireflight was blown off the side of the mountain, but used her wings to save herself. Angelus flew after her, swinging his sword around. Fireflight dodged the attacks, keeping her distance. Angelus kept flying closer, trying to cut her with his sword. then Fire countered with electricity, sending him flying. Angelus landed on the mountain, and Fire landed after him. he then growled, and charged at her. then Fire hit him with a blast of earth, sending him flying. he quickly jumped to his feet, and countered with shadowfire. then Fire countered with her fire breath. he then took to the sky, avoiding the flames. Fire flew after him, shooting ice shards at him. he dodged the attacks, and then quickly turned around, shooting black fire balls. Fireflight dove towards the mountain, avoiding the attack. Angelus dive-bombed after her, shooting more black fire balls. the fire balls hit Fire, causing small burn marks. she then quickly flew upward, and did a loop-de-loop. she ended up behind him, and then attacked with wind, creating a small tornado. the tornado carried Angelus away from her. then from a distance, Fire shot bolts of electricity at him. he groaned as he was hit by the attack. then he began rapidly spinning around in a circle. the tornado soon disappeared, and Angelus was free. then he raised his sword, and charged at Fireflight. she charged at him with a look of determination. then just as he was about to strike, Fire flew upward, and then slashed his face with her tail. Angelus quickly grabbed her tail, and began to swing her around violently. he then threw her down towards the top of the mountain with a strong force. she hit the mountain with a loud thud. Angelus landed just as she was getting to her feet. she breathed heavily, and had many bruises on her body. Angelus grinned evily. then he charged at her, and rammed her with his horns. the hit knocked her off her feet, and she landed near the edge of the mountain. Angelus rushed over to her, and began to claw at her viciously. he tore at her body and wings. the rock beneath them began to crack. Angelus took a step back, and raised his sword. he then swung it at her, hitting her stomach. the hit cut her, and knocked her off the mountain. she quickly grabbed hold of the edge so as not to fall off. then Angelus raised his sword, and then slammed it down into the mountain. then the rock began to break, and Fireflight began to fall down towards the ground. she then began flapping her wings, but they were too torn to fly. she then grabbed onto a ledge, and held on tight. she then began climbing up the side of the mountain, which was very difficult. Angelus was surprised. he then dove down, and hovered near the side of the mountain. he then raised his sword, and took a swing at her, but she blocked the attack with her tail. then she hit him with her wings, and slashed at him with her tail. the hits caused him to drop the sword. it fell towards the ground until it landed on a small ledge. Angelus dove after it, and then Fireflight let go of the mountain, and dove after it as well. the two raced to the sword, Angelus flying at full speed, Fireflight falling rapidly. Fireflight knew she wouldn't beat him to the sword without being able to fly. she then used wind to create a small tornado, which blew him away. he soon broke free, and landed on top of the mountain. Fireflight kept falling, and soon grabbed the sword. then she quickly grabbed hold of the ledge. she then slowly began climbing up the mountain, using the sword to help herself scale the side of the mountain. by the time she reached the top, Angelsu had vanished. Fireflight was exhuasted, and then collapsed. then Angelus came out from the shadows, and grabbed her from behind. he took the sword, and held it to her throat.
"so, Firefly, how's it feel? defeat must be humilating for a great empath such as yourself. and with your defeat, the world will be at my mercy. after all, you are the last of your kind. once you are dead, the world truly is doomed. no one else has the power you have to defeat me. it was brave of you to come alone, but it was also stupid. right now, i'm sure you're wishing you had asked the others for help. well, it wouldn't do any good. for they will also die by my claws. it's only a matter of time now before i kill them all. enjoy your last moment alive, Firefly." he said.

"so, any last words before your last breath?"
"just one..."
"and what would that be, Firefly?"
"the name is Fireflight." she said as her eyes glowed red. "no one can touch me.......nothing can stop me........." she continued. then she pushed him away, and then glared at him. he lowered his sword, looking at her eyes. he then smirked.
"hmph. i've already defeated both Artica and Nightflight. you don't scare me. you're no stronger than they were, and they were easy kills."
"i won't be so easy to defeat. i've never lost before, and i don't plan on starting now." she snarled. as her eyes glowed a fiery red, a surge of power flowed throughout her body. "my strenght has been renewed. you can not defeat me." she said.
"we'll see about that." he snarled. then his eyes glowed black. "you forget, i used my sword to obtain the powers of both an ice empath and a dark empath. with both those powers, i should have more than enough power to defeat you." he said.
"bring it!" she growled. then Angelus charged at her with his sword raised high. she charged at him, and dodged his sword. they clawed at each other viciously, and bit each other with thier fangs. they fought like savage beasts for a few moments, until Angelus pierced his sword through Fireflight's stomach. "no...." she muttered weakly. she then collapsed, and her eyes stopped glowing. a red aura passed through the sword, and then Angelus began to glow a fiery red.
"now, i have your powers." he said, his voice sounding even more twisted now. "how does it feel to be weak, powerless, helpless?"
"i........am not..........helpless....!" she roared. then she jumped up at him, and dragged him to the ground. she pinned him down, and then grabbed his sword. she held it to his throat. "now, who's helpless?" she asked. then she raised the sword high, and then she pierced the blade through his stomach. he roared in pain, and then a black aura passed through the sword, and Fireflight began to glow. "now, i have your powers..." she said.
"no!" he roared. then he kicked her off of him. they quickly got to thier feet, and glared at each other. then Angelus slowly began to return to normal. "no! i was so close! i can't fail now!" he roared angerly. then he watched as Fireflight's size began to increase. the black aura turned to a fiery red one, and then slowly turned to fire as she grew.
"now, i am unbreakable, it's unmistakable. no one can touch me. nothing can stop me." she said. "now, it's time to seal your fate!" she continued. then she threw her head back, and let out a mighty roar that caused the mountain itself to shake. the ground below them shoke violently, the mountain began to crumble. then dragon spirits appeared, and began to circle them. each one was of a diffrent color: red, purple, blue, and black. Fireflight roared, and the spirits went to her. "now every empath in the family line will band together to defeat evil!" she said. then with thier combined powers, they unleashed thier empath fury. then a wave of force came from Fireflight, and speard in all directions, destorying everything in it's path in a massive explosion. the force traveled for hundreds of miles, and soon dispersed. the mountain collapsed, conceiling both dragons within the falling rocks. the spirits disappeared as the mountain tumbled to the ground.

a dragon soon landed at the sight, and quickly began digging through the piles of rubble. the dragon soon found Angelus's body, mortally wounded. the dragon checked for a pulse, and didn't find one. Angelus had died. the dragon continued digging through the rubble, and eventually found Fireflight. she lay motionless with the sword in her grasp. she was mortally wounded.
"Fireflight! Fireflight! wake up! please!" the dragon cried in a female voice. Fireflight's tail twitched slightly. then her eyes barely opened. she groaned as she gazed up at the dragon above her.
"............................Gold..............................star........................?" she asked, faintly.
"Fireflight, you're alive......" Goldstar whispered, wiping away a tear.
".....................barely.................." she muttered.
"you did it, you defeated Angelus. the world is a safe place once again, thanks to you."
"...........i'm.............................glad................"
"i need to get you back to the others, so we can heal you. can you move?"
"........................no..............."
"well, don't worry, i can carry you."
".................no.........................not nessecery.............."
"what? what are you talking about? you need to be healed."
"....................no........................my time................has come..............."
"no, not yet. please, not now." Goldstar started to cry.
"....................it is..................shhhh.............calm.........down...........everything.............will be............fine........."
"no, you're saying it's your time to go, it's not fine!"
"...................................Gold.......star............please..........i must...............go...........it is..............my time.........."
"no, i can save you..."

"ok............" she sniffled. ".........i'll try.........."

".................and i................love you................." she muttered, weakly. then she closed her eyes. Goldstar sat there, and cried for a little while. then Goldstar quietly flew back to the others. she gave them the sad news, and told them everything. after a few moments of crying, Goldstar set out to the Whitelighter's lair. she went inside, and sat down at the vision pool. the lair was filled with all kinds of books, and in the middle was the vision pool. she looked inside, and wondered who should be the new Whitelighter.

"i have been waiting for you..." Goldstar said as someone walked up to her from the shadows.
"me? you have been wating for me?" a female asked, surprised.
"yes, Starfire, come sit." she said. then the purple dragoness sat down beside her.
"so, what am i doing here?"
"that is a good question, one with an even better answer. you, Starfire, will be the next Whitelighter."
"what? me? are you sure?"
"i have never been more sure. your mother asked me to pick a worthy dragon to take her place as Whitelighter. and no one seemed better to me to take her place than her beloved daughter."
"so, i'm going to be...........a Whitelighter.....?"
"yes, you are. at first, i had no idea who i would choose. but then i thought of you, the one Fireflight loved most of all. i know she would be very proud to know that you would take her place."
"but do you really want me to do this? i mean, what am i supposed to do exactly?"
"Starfire, it is your job to gaurd, protect, and watch over the next Pure One. until that day comes when the Pure One reveals themself to save the world, you must wait here. that is your job. of course, it requires a great deal of pateince. though you could wait forever if you had to. as a Whitelighter, you would be immortal, unable to die. though, you can also lose your place as a Whitelighter, such as when Fireflight was banished to the wasteland, she lost her job as Whitelighter then. but i doubt you will have any problems with that. just wait here pateintly for the next Pure One to be revealed, and you will be fine."
"oh, ok.....so, that's it...? i just sit here, and wait? that's kind of boring."
"i know it is not what you're use to doing, but i am sure you will do fine. your mother did an excelent job, though she would rather be fighting evil."
"i know how she feels."
"yes, you two are quite a lot alike. but i assure you that you will do a wonderful job. i have faith in you, Starfire. good luck to you." she said. then she teleported out of the lair. then Starfire changed to a pure white color.
"well, looks like this is my job now. i promise that i won't let you down, Mom." she said.

Fireflight's body lay motionless. her spirit left the body as light surrounded the area. then a golden-yellow light appeared behind her. she turned around to see an old friend.
"Goldwing........?" she asked in disbelief.
"hello, Fireflight." he smiled. "i have been watching over you all this time. you have been through quite a lot. i am proud of what you've done. however, that was your last. your last defeat."
"yes, i know. but it is good to see you." she smiled. "so, what's it like? being dead i mean."
"not bad at all actually. though my body is lost, my spirit lives on. i have followed you on your latest adventures, to the best of my ability anyway. i am sorry to say that i could not be with you when you were banished. though being one with the wind was truly remarkable."
"yes, i remember the feeling."
"ah, yes, you have died before."
"too many times." she chuckled lightly. Goldwing smiled. "so, how is everyone?"
"they are all doing just fine, despite being dead." he chuckled lightly. "so, shall we continue our conversation elsewhere?"
"here is good for now. i don't plan on going anywhere for a while. i want to watch over the others."
"i understand. oh, in case you didn't know, Starfire has become the new Whitelighter. i thought you might want to know that."
"oh, that's wonderful. i know she'll do a great job."
"so do i. though she can be rather impatient at times. she was surprised when Goldstar first told her."
"i bet. but i couldn't have made a better choice myself. i am glad Starfire is the new Whitelighter. and i am glad the world is at peace again."
"yes, wonderful job, Fireflight. i have always been proud of you. we have known each other for quite a while, haven't we?"
"since we were young. i remember the day we met. i had just left home to find the elders, and i decided to rest in a cave. there i met Alex, a dragonfly who was running away from you."
"yes, annoying little creature."
"so i remember. as i recall, you called him a gnat, and he got so upset." she chuckled lightly.
"yes, he did. 'i am not a gnat! i am a dragonfly! say it with me, DRA-GON-FLY!'" Goldwing qouted him, laughing afterwards.
"yes, exactly." Fireflight chuckled. "then after that entertaining conversation, you led us to the elders' temple."
"indeed. there you met my parents, and we learned more about you."
"yes, but Alex was ignored at first."
"indeed, he was. 'what am i? chop liver?'" he teased.
"he certainly was a funny little guy, wasn't he?" she smiled.
"ah, yes, but he could be rather annoying as well."
"oh, don't i know it. ah, those were the days. and now look a us, old and dead." she chuckled lightly.
"we have truly lived a long life. it certainly has been full of adventures." he smiled.
"yes, we never lost a war, and we always found a way to defeat evil."
"well, you always led us to victory. you truly are a remarkable dragon. and now it is someone else's turn to shine in the spotlight."
"yes, but i am the last. until another is born."
"hmm, yes, you are. you are the last empath. for now. i have no doubt that there will be others."
"yes, i hope so. for the world will not be at peace forever."
"no, the peace never seems to last long." he said. Fireflight sighed.
"well, i hope it lasts long enough for another empath to be born. i'd hate for the world to go without one. an empath may be needed."
"yes, but the world always seems to find a way to survive, doesn't it? i'm sure things will work out."
"yes, they always do. the world is at peace once again, but now there is not a living empath to protect it. though i trust that Goldstar and the others will do thier best to ensure that evil does not destroy the world. the fate of the world rests on thier wings now, at least until the next empath is born. it is up to Evelyn now that my family line continues. though i will be watching over this world, and i will help in any way that i can. i may be no longer able to fight, or lead us to victory in a war, but i can pass on my wisdom to the young, and give them advice. i can guide them, and teach them about the past." she said.
Meanwhile, Goldstar and the others gathered in the highest room of the mountain, where a big dragon statue stood. they stood all around the statue, with Goldstar in the middle. everyone gazed up at the statue as Goldstar walked up to it.
"this statue is for a truly remarkable dragon. Fireflight, the Protector." Goldstar spoke. "our fate rested on the wings of this dragoness, and she has never let us down, not even to her death. may we always be grateful to her family for our protection. may we always honor this dragon with pride, knowing that she was the one who helped to bring light to our world, and provide her strength to protect us, her knowledge to guide us, and her heart to care for us all. for she is the mighty Protector. may we always remember this dragoness, and help her to live on in her legend. for she will never die, as long as we remember all that she has done for us, and as long as we continue to tell the story of her legend. the legend of Fireflight." Goldstar said with her head held high out of pride and respect. the others bowed in respect, and then they gazed upon the statue. they smiled as they remembered the one who had saved them and the world, time and time again. in thier hearts they knew that they would always remember the legend of Fireflight.

this story had now been completed. Fireflight's legend has come to an end. there will be no more Fireflight books. but that isn't the last of my dragons. i am currently writing Tale of the Ancestors and The Descendant. the Ancestors is about Fireflight's ancestors of course, Flare, Artica, and perhaps many more, depending on how long i want it to be. and the Descendant takes you into the future after this story. so that is all. i hope you all have enjoyed reading Fireflight 4: Shadows In The Night, and i hope you will continue to read more of my stories. thank you.
