Not counting Spyro and Skylanders for obvious reasons, I'm honestly not overly fond of how this site talks pretty much solely about Nintendo games and not much else. (Even then it's pretty much just about Pokémon 90% of the time anyways)
I don't particularly care to use dedicated forums for those types of things because I never really click with other gaming communities quite as well, and a majority of them are either a bit too slow or a bit too active for my taste.
(And hardly ever somewhere in-between)
It admittedly strikes me as a bit odd, to say the least, since I'm pretty sure people here play more than what is usually talked about.
It's not really a big deal either way, as it's more of a minor gripe than anything, it's just that I personally find it to be a tad monotonous having to always talk about the same, like, three things and not much else. *shrug*
Obviously I don't expect people to do anything about this, nor do I necessarily want anyone to, I just think about this a lot surprisingly.
personally i think its partially been because of the slow news and their respective fanbases.
id argue that sony has a fairly large following here, but everyone pretty much plays and talks about the more retro stuff, or things that are getting a remake. state of play was a pretty good example of how playstation is floundering as they pour most of their resources into presumably the PS5. we got days gone, mk11 (which is actually multiplatform), crash team racing skins, and a bunch of VR. all in all, not very interesting. sure playstation has some pretty sweet upcoming stuff, like death stranding and persona 5 royal, but we've seen next to nothing on either of those other than a handful of trailers, and the latter is rumored to be going multiplatform anyway.
xbox is... well, xbox. it has its exclusives, sure, but it largely feels like they try to cater to the "more popular" crowd that goes for games like FIFA and call of duty. theres nothing really inherently wrong with those, but also not much to talk about. hopefully that will change with their recent studio acquisitions, but as of now, they dont have a lot that appeals to our kind of audience.
dS is in a strange middle ground for gaming. its populated by hardcore gamers, but ones who are all ages. youll see everything from kids to parents on this site, with the majority being teens or young adults. even though this is a spyro site, i think the skylanders series and reignited trilogy brought people from the more family friendly and cheaper nintendo crowds. xboxes and playstations are expensive compared to the switch, let alone the 3DS, so i think the wider appeal of these consoles might play a part in why theyre so much more popular on the site.
TL;DR: nintendy cheap and for everyone, sony and xbox spency
