MARIO KART 8 DLC for ZELDA and ANIMAL CROSSING

Each Add On Content pack will contain two new cups, each with four courses, which, in total, increases the number of available courses by 50 percent. The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack.

Dry Bowser was one of the only characters I missed from previous Mario Kart games (alongside Dry Bones and Bowser Jr.), and now we're getting him PLUS so many other awesome new additions! And the new racing courses! I'M SO EXCITED!

GLA Tires do not affect stats; same stats as Standard.
GLA has the same stats as the Steel Driver, Tri-Speeder, Badwagon, and Standard ATV.
W 25 Silver Arrow has the same stats as the Pipe Frame, Standard Bike, Flame Rider, Varmint, and Wild Wiggler.
300 SL Roadster is an aesthetic vehicle body; its stats are the same as the Standard Kart.

Also, they've raised the VR cap. You can now get beyond 9,999 VR in Global/Regional Races and Battles.

And the game's online seems more stable than before, they weren't lying when they said they would improve the online experience.

I hope they bring back Petey Pirahna, Dry Bones, and Diddy Kong too, maybe with new retro tracks like Wario Colosseum or even the 3DS Rainbow Road.

And the fact that it looks like Animal Crossing, F-Zero, and Excitebike are all getting Mario Kart tracks makes me wonder what other series are getting them, I hope for Pikmin and Metroid to be honest.

No, it's out today:

Apparently the VR system has been changed to a more "high stakes" format the higher your room's average VR. I have very low VR (~4000), and barely lose any when I do badly in a race. But I'm hearing people moaning "Waaaaah I lost 30-50 VR just for coming in 8th and I had over 10,000!" I just hope to get in the top 6th when I race online, people are just that scary good. @.@

Also, we now have 4 Marios and 4 Peaches in the game. Y NO KITSUNE LUIGI?! ;~;

The VR system has always worked in a way so that you can get more by playing with people who have similar or higher VR. This is still the case, but they've made the penalty much harsher for losing against people with lower VR. You pretty much have to come in first to get any VR from people who have less than you.

This wouldn't be so bad if the game had a way to search for lobbies where people have similar VR, but it doesn't. As a result, I actually feel discouraged from playing the game anymore. Outside of friends that is, but nobody ever seems to be online for me anyway.

I also wish we were getting Kitsune Luigi and Cat Rosalina instead. Those two are way more popular when it comes to this game (Luigi because of the death stare, and for whatever reason, Rosalina is THE most used character online, by far). Though they really should have let Zelda herself join Link, and maybe bring back another veteran like Diddy KONG or Bowser Jr.

Brawler, if you're looking for high VR players, go to a Custom Room with 150cc/Mirror and Frantic Mode. Most of the time I'm 2000-4000 VR behind everyone else. Just beware of all the Morton + Pipe Frame + Slim + Accel glider combos you'll find. It's Funky Kart Wii all over again. <.<;

I will buy this game just to buy the Animal Crossing pack. *Checks wallet* ****

Whenever I search in Custom, I absolutely cannot find any games. Everyone seems to just use the default.

Huh. Must be a timezones thing. I guess it is usually filled with people in the Western Hemisphere. <.<

I never find custom for Mirror ;-;
Anyway, I'm perfectly fine with Tanooki Mario being here. But still no Boo/Wiggler. :(

In the future, what they could do is either have weight class choice for every character or get rid of weight classes. Then the babies could disappear, leaving some more room.

*Jaw drop* They are out already in the us??? How much are they so I can work out a "payment schedule" If I need to. I know the Mercedes is free, but what about the other 2? I know my little brother will love to be the shy guys.

I am excited for Excitebike Arena for the exact same reasons I love DS Wario Stadium. Still wish GCN Wario Colosseum could make it into the DLC somehow but, alas, it appears that won't be happening. ._.

^Not likely. There are now 3 Wario-themed tracks. That's equal to the number of Mario-themed tracks AND Rainbow Roads in the game. <.>

The main course I hope for is Wii Maple Treeway again.

So, for those wondering about the DLC...

1. Link is in the cruiser class with Waluigi, Rosalina, DK, and Roy.
2. Cat Peach is a medium weight, but is in her own separate class, "Catweight." She has more acceleration, but less weight.
3. Likewise, Tanooki Mario is in his own separate medium weight class. He has better weight, but worse handling and mini-turbo, than Yoshi/Peach/Daisy.
1. The Tanooki Kart and B-Dasher seem to have (roughly) the same stats as the Gold Standard/Circuit Special/Sports Coupe.
2. The Blue Falcon is similar to the above, but with better acceleration and less weight.
3. The Master Cycle is like the Comet/Sports Bike, but with better speed and worse traction.
4. The Triforce Tires are similar to the Slim/Crimson Slim tires.
5. The Hylian Glider is an acceleration glider, like most of them.

And of course, the tracks are very fun. All in all, pretty solid pack of content we got here. ^.^;

But yeah, the Pack is great. I don't like Ice Ice Outpost though - the shortcuts are awkward and have weird collision/object placement, and not using the shortcuts makes it a very bland, dragged out course.

I don't like it because the track is much too narrow for 12 racers. If an item gets chucked in your direction there's a 100% change you get hit unless you can switch halves of the course. <.<;

BUT HOT DIGGITY MUTE CITY IS SOME HIGH SPEED THRILLS AND A HALF! I really want another F-Zero now. ;~;

And I seem to have the uncommon opinion again.
Ice Ice Outpost is my favorite of all 40 courses.
The shortcuts were awkward to attempt at first, but a few races (like 8 maybe) and they were nice.

The other courses are amazing too, and with this pack, my number of mains went from 3 to 5. >.<
Adding Tanooki Mario and Link to Yoshi, Rosalina, and Toadette.

My favourite DLC character is Tanooki Mario. <3 Even if he is just a clone. My favourite "new" course is Wario's Gold Mine. I always liked that one anyway.

So DLC Pack 2 is out along with 200cc mode. And I must say I had a lot of fun with 200cc online. It's so chaotic, it's brilliant. It may settle down when people get the hang of 200cc mode, but for now, I really dig it because anything can happen, and the skill needed to stay on track (especially with items) actually makes up for the imbalanced items. XP

Though what is interesting is that there are those couple different angles to the image, and the fact that the release times in with the past ones, 5-6 months apart.
All the characters are still bipedal, like all the current ones with the exception of Cat Peach are.
And the fact that there are unknowns add a tiny bit of credibility.

Though being 6 characters for the same price... Albeit the price was $6 each, if you got the bundle. If you break that apart - $0.25 each track, ~$0.67 each character, $0.50 each vehicle, and that math works here as well.
Though it is still probably fake, especially without an original source outside of Twitter being mentioned.

It's fake. All character portraits are custom made for this game, it'd make no sense for them to use existing renders instead of making new ones like the previous DLC.



This combined with the facts that tons of information is being announced randomly without any major events to go with it (Many different amiibo, various 2015-16 release dates listings, Fatal Frame being Eshop exclusive, etc.) meaning that a direct is far off, plus how easy that sort of thing is to fake. Yeah, it doesn't stand on anything.
