“No, that wasn’t me.” she heard from behind her
Rougestone was standing right behind her without a scratch on him.
“You were wrong about me having to be above ground to be able to control them the way I did. The only reason that I am standing here now is because I could have kept this up for a very long time. There would have been no point in watching you exert yourself to exhaustion.”
Sapphire just stared at him while he explained.
“I usually use this to tire my enemies out that way I can easily get away or attack them with little resistance from them.”
Sapphire just kept staring at him. Crystal was very interested in Rougestone’s explanation.
“So, would you like to continue?” he asked Sapphire
“As long as you don’t do that again! That was a little creepy.”
“Yeah, I know. It is supposed to be.” he said “Well lets continue before the rest of your snow melts.”
“Right!” she said

So they continued with the floor still frozen. Bluefire was now standing up and watching the two of them, Crystal stayed seated. Bluefire turned to Crystal…
“Mom, where’s dad?”
“I don’t know, but he sure would want to be here if he knew what was going on.”
“Yeah, I’m gonna go look for him.”
“Alright, just don’t get into trouble with him.” she answered and turned her attention back to Rougestone and Sapphire.
Bluefire ran out the door to go find his father.
:meanwhile:
Rougestone and Sapphire started again…
“Ladies first.” he said to her
“Alright then.” she answered
She then rapidly shot ice crystals in Rougestone’s direction. In his defense, he shot a wall of earth straight through the ice and got it in front of him in time for the ice to hit it instead of him. He then broke off pieces of the wall and threw them at Sapphire. She copied his defense and shot a wall of ice up in front of her, blocking the shots. She then had ice spikes shoot out of the side of the wall that was facing Rougestone…
“Copying my moves from the other day?” he yelled as he raised another wall to stop the spikes.
“I just wanted to try something like that for myself.” she yelled back
As they were throwing earth and ice at each other, Bluefire walked in with Blackfire. They both walked over to join Crystal and sat down to watch…
“Nice of you to join us.” Crystal said to Blackfire
“I didn’t know that you were going to have Rougestone train her.” he said
“It was kind of last minute” she replied
“O, as long as they aren’t hurting each other.”
“Nope, they are both doing fine” answered Crystal
“Alright!” they all heard Rougestone say
“Why don’t we call it a day? We seem to be pretty matched when it comes to spikes!” Rougestone continued
“Yeah, I agree. That is enough training for one day.” answered Sapphire
So Rougestone walked over to where Bluefire and his parents were while Sapphire turned the room back to normal.
“Aw, you should have been here earlier, dad. Mr. Rougestone was amazing!”
“Alright, next time I will be here.”
Sapphire came over and joined them.
“That was fun! You should train me more often.”
“I can do that. Just let me know when.” he replied
“Right, well let’s get something to eat.” said Crystal
“Eat?” Rougestone and Sapphire said at the same time
“Yes, eat. It’s around dinner time”
“Really? Today went by fast.” said Sapphire
The five of them left the training room and headed for the kitchen.

It was a clear night that night and Bluefire was sitting outside looking up…
“What are you up to, kid?”
“Just looking at the stars.”
“O, mind if I join you?”
“No, go right ahead”
“Thanks. So what did you think about earlier?”
“I still want you to teach me all of the things that you can do.”
“I don’t know if I can.”
“Why not?” asked Bluefire
“Well, it’s because you are a fire dragon and I am an earth dragon.”
“So what if you are an earth dragon?”
“You have to be an earth dragon to be able to do what I do.”
“That’s not fair” Bluefire started to complain
“You’re a fire dragon, though”
“So what?”
“Well, you are the first fire dragon that I have known to breath a blue flame, and you are blue yourself, not many blue fire dragons out there. You have your own special talents; you just have to learn how to use them, that’s all.”
“How come you can use your element so good and I can’t?”
“I have a little bit more experience than you do, I am a little older then you are too.”
“I hate being little.”
“Hey, enjoy it while you can. You are only little once and then you can’t go back.”
“I don’t want to be little. I want to be like you, just in the middle.”
“The time will come, don’t worry about that. Just enjoy it while it lasts.”
“Alright, but only since you said that I can look forward to being big like you.”
“Ok, let’s change the subject.”
“To what?”
“I don’t know. Is there anything else on your mind, kid?”
“Not that I can think of. Anything on yours?”
“Not really. No, nothing at the moment.”
“O, did you know that my sister likes you?!”
“Yes, I did know that. She has told me countless times.”
“She only told me once; when we were in the forest, right after I met you. I can’t believe that I remembered that.”
“Why?”
“I don’t have a good memory. My mom says that it is just cause I’m young.”
“Is that why you want to be big?”
“No, I just don’t like being little.”
“Like I said before, you will get bigger.”
“I know, cause you said that I will.”
“Hey, did she tell you not to tell your mom and dad that she likes me.”
“Yep, she said that she doesn’t want to get into trouble or something like that. I don’t remember that part.”
“Have you told them?”
“Nope, kept it a secret.” he said proudly
“If I tell you a secret, will you keep it?”
“Sure, I love secrets and don’t tell them to anybody.”
“Ok, but you have to promise not to tell.”
“Ok! I won’t tell anyone!” Bluefire was starting to get excited
Rougestone whispers something into Bluefire’s ear.
“Really?!?!” Bluefire said excitedly.

Hmmmm, one geuss what he said

“Remember, don’t tell anyone.”
“I won’t, Mr. Rougestone. Don’t you worry; your secret is safe with me.”
“Good. Let’s just keep it between you and me.”
“Right!”
“Alright, it’s starting get late, and shouldn’t you be getting ready to go to bed?”
“………no………”
“Come on now. We both know that that is not true.”
“Fine, I’ll go get ready for bed.”
Bluefire left Rougestone outside and ran inside…
“Where’s the fire?” asked Crystal as Bluefire ran past her
“I’m going to get ready for bed.” he told her
“Really? Ok then, I won’t keep you from doing that. Good night, Bluefire.”
“Night, mom.”
Bluefire then returned to what he was going to do. Crystal continued on where she was going, but stopped when she saw Rougestone outside. She walked over to him…
“Thank you”
“For what? I didn’t do anything.”
“Yes you did. I just ran into Bluefire and he was going to get ready for bed.”
“So?”
“You have been a great influence on him ever since you got here, and I thank you for that.”
“O, it’s no problem. He’s a good kid.”
“I know, and he now has someone else to guide him on the right path; you.”
“Thanks, but you are giving me too much credit.”
“Am I?” she asked as she walked away.

Rougestone didn’t turn to see her leave he just kept staring up. He stayed outside for a little longer…
“Do you ever wonder where you are from?”
“Sometimes, other times it doesn’t matter to me.”
“What about your family?”
“Yes, I sometimes think about them too; whether I have brothers or sisters, and if they are the same element as me or if we are a mixed family like yours. I don’t know anything about them.”
“You will eventually. Maybe not tomorrow, but some day you will.”
“I don’t know. I wouldn’t even know where to start looking for them.”
“You’ll figure it out.”
Rougestone finally turned his attention from the sky to the door way where Sapphire was sitting.
“Nice night out.” she said as walked over to him
“Yeah, not like last night when it was raining.”
“About that…”
“About what?”
“Last night, on our way in?…if you don’t remember, you’ve a memory like my brother.”
“My memory is not that bad. Ok, yes, I do remember last night.”
“And?”
“And what? What are you getting at?”
“Why can’t you just admit that you like me?”
“What?”
“Come on, it is pretty obvious.”
“No, it’s not.”
“You are stubborn, like always. You can tell me. You already know what I think about you, but I have no idea what you think about me.”
Rougestone was just quiet while she spoke. He did know how to answer the question that she just started asking.
“The quiet treatment won’t work either. I will just have to sit out here with you until you start talking again.”
She moved so that she was a little bit closer to Rougestone. There was a long moment of silence and neither one of them moved. Then, Sapphire slowly inched her way closer and closer to Rougestone. He wasn’t paying attention; he was more focused on the sky. Unsure of what his reaction was going to be, she put her head on his shoulder. At that moment in time, she didn’t care who saw her do it; her brother, mother, or father. Rougestone didn’t budge, he just kept looking up. After a while, Sapphire picked her head up…
“Ok, well I am going to bed I will see you tomorrow morning. Good night.”
Rougestone kept still; he was lost in thought. Sapphire started making her way towards the door when…
“Hold up.”
“Yeah? Are you willing to talk?”
“No.” Rougestone said as he walked up to her and kissed her.

Rougestone then said nothing and continued up to his room. Sapphire just sat there for a minute, frozen…
“What are you doing?” asked her father
She snapped out of it
“Nothing, just looking out at the stars.”
“Well it’s late. You should be in bed.”
“Ok. Night, dad”
“Good night”
Sapphire walked over to Bluefire’s room to say good night, but he was already asleep. She didn’t know whether or not to say good night to Rougestone. She poked her head into his room…
“Still want to talk?”
She was a little startled but composed herself.
“No, not tonight. I just came to say good night.”
“You already said good night, remember? That’s ok, though.”
“Right, I remember. Good night anyway.”
“Night, Sapphire”
“O, I think you forgot something.”
“What now, Sapphire?”
This time, she ran over to him and gave him a small kiss and ran out.
“I still don’t understand her” he said as he laid down to go to sleep.

Rougestone slowly opened his eyes…
“What?” he said drowsily
“What are we doing today?” asked Bluefire
“I don’t know. I just got up.”
“Ok, I’ll go ask mom.”
Bluefire ran out of the room, leaving the door open. Rougestone sat up and shook himself awake…
“Finally up?”
“Yeah, you know Bluefire is looking for you.”
“Yes, I know. He probably wants to know what we are doing today.” answered Crystal
“You know him all too well.”
“I have to, he’s my son.”
“True. Anyway, what’s up?”
“Nothing, just making sure that you are alright.”
“Why wouldn’t I be alright?”
“I know that you have been having trouble sleeping and I just wanted to make sure that you were alright.”
“Trust me, I’m fine.”
“Alright, I was just making sure.” she said as she went off to find Bluefire.
Rougestone stood up and walked out of his room. He found the four of them in the kitchen…
“Hey, come and get something to eat.” said Bluefire
“Sure, and afterwards, can we talk?”
“Yeah, sure we can. Is something wrong?” asked Crystal
“No, but there is something that I would like to tell you all”
