me: she seems more calm than usually. which is actually a nice change.
F: *takes a quick nap*

me: ya. but... its like.. mellow to the extreme... she's letting frostbol carry her..
fb: *walks*

me: yeah...usually she would have jumped down, and insisted she walked...i wonder what happened...something made her this way...

me: yeah.. but what?

me: i don't know...maybe something that happened after she used the fury....i just wonder how she ended up in another world...she didn't seem to want to go there...

me: we shou;d go and talk to her when she wakes up..
fb: *walks*

F: *starts to dream. has a nightmare. screams, then falls off Fb*
me: yeah...

me: *waits*
fb: *picks f up and puts her back onto his back ond folds his wings over so she dosen;t fall off.*

me: *waits*
F: *continues to have nightmare. wakes up suddenly. starts to say something in another language*

fb: *listens and keeps walking*
me: *fishes in the nearby stream*

me: *watches you fish*
F: *in another language* no....stay back.....stay back you crazy wildman....don't come a step closer.....just put the spear down.....i'm not going to hurt you....i'm not a threat.....no.....stay back.....don't stab with the---*is cut off*

fb: *sets her down* hey.. wake up!
me: *catches a brown tout*

F: *opens her eyes* wh--what...?
me: good catch.

me: thanks!.. hey shes away!
fb: what did you say?

F: um....something.....about a wildman....he had a spear.....he seemed angry.....and he.....*looks down at her chest. there was a scar there*
me: no problem!

Fireflight 4: Shadows In the Night

Fireflight: it has been a few years since i fought Artica. no one is certain of what happened to her, and White. many think she is dead; some, like myself, think she is still out there somewhere. Thunderhead, Blackpearl, Goldstar, Warclaw, and Sunfire are all adults now. Warclaw still lives with Sunfire at her home. they often fight, and have arguments, but they are still together. Goldstar studys with Goldwing at the Elder's temple. she is always gaining more intellegence and wisdom with all the books she reads. she has also helped many in need. Thunderhead and Blackpearl live at the temple. they hope to have an egg soon, which is why Ironstone has been visiting them alot lately. Adrian, Talon's son, is moving out on his own. Talon still lives within the jungle. Nala's kids, Ulora and Noah, have moved out on thier own. Ulora has gone deeper into the jungle to practice her archery. she has made a new friend, a Jagaur named Abra, who practices archery with her. Noah has traveled up north to the mountains, where he hopes to find an old grizzley bear, who was once a master swordsman. Nala has traveled to a dark, quiet, forrest, where she has met with other magic users. the newer magic users are still practicing thier skills. the older ones, like Nala, are teaching the younger, less experiances ones. Neona is still leader of the wolves. the wolves remain up in the mountains. the horse herd has gone back to living in the grasslands. as for myself, i am on my way to visit the elders. Goldwing said that there was something he wanted to show me. i am quite curious as to what it could be...

it was early morning. the sun was still rising. Fireflight had landed outside the temple. she walked up to the large, golden, double-doors, and knocked on them. the doors opened, but it wasn't who Fireflight expected. she expected Goldwing to be standing before her, but insted, a large gold dragoness stood there. she looked upset, and had tears in her eyes. the dragoness reconized fireflight right away.
"come in..." she said, quietly. she sounded sad.
"thank you" replied Fireflight, as she walked inside. the dragoness closed the door behind her. Fireflight looked around the temple to see that everyone was upset, and depressed. many were crying, others were shocked and horrified. Fireflight wondered what was wrong. she turned to the dragoness, who had borken into tears. "what is going on here?" Fireflight asked, concerned. the dragoness stopped crying a moment, and turned to face her.
"something....awful....has happened...." she said, with tears in her eyes. Fireflight was worried now.
"what happened?" she asked.
"you wouldn't believe me if i told you....no one else believes that its true...at least...untill....they saw it..."
"what?"
"the body..." she cried. Fireflight tried to calm her down.
"what body?" she asked. the dragoness stopped crying for a moment. then the dragoness thought of the body, and broke into tears once more.
"come see for yourself...." said a sad, female voice coming from the other side of Fireflight. Fireflight turned to face the female. she then saw Goldstar standing there, with tears in her eyes. "i'll show you the body...." she said, quietly. Fireflight got up.
"show me" she said. then Goldstar started to walk down the hall. Fireflight followed her. Goldstar walked up to the golden doulbe-doors of the library. she opend them, walked inside, and sat down at the entrance, beside the doors.
"the body is just up ahead....i can't bare to see it again..." she said, quietly. Fireflight walked inside. she prepared herself to see the body, and walked to the center of the library. the room was large, and round. the cieling was dome shaped. Fireflight noticed that the room wasn't as neat as Goldwing usually kept it. there were several bookselves that were knocked over. books were scattered all around the room. some were even torn, and shredded; others were burned by a fire ball. there were burn marks all over the walls, which were cracked from some strong force that hit them. there were drops, and puddles of blood in sevral areas on the floor. there were also splatters of blood on the walls. Fireflight knew that a terrible fight occured in here. she approached the body, and examined it. she then gasped; her eyes widened. then she closed her eyes, and turned away. she knew who layed dead in front of her. Goldstar saw the look on her face. she got up, and walked over to Fireflight. she then looked at her. "horrible, isn't it...?" she asked. Fireflight looked at her.
"who could do such a thing...?" she asked, horrified at what she had seen.
"someone who must not have a heart...or a soul....someone who is really pure evil...."
"i can't believe this....why would someone want to kill him...? he never did anything to deserve such a fate...."
"i know....it's awful....i found him like that this morning.....it must have happened last night....." she said. Fireflight examined the body once more. there was a large puddle of blood beneath it. there were several wounds, and bruises all over the body. there were many deep bite marks on the neck. there was one large stab wound on his chest, which went all the way through to his back-side. someone had stabbed him through the heart. Fireflight looked at his face. his eyes were closed. his right had a scar across it. his nose was bleeding, and he was missing a few teeth. Fireflight turned to Goldstar. then she looked back at the body.
"i just don't know how someone could do this.....how could someone kill Goldwing....?"
"he wasn't just killed....he was murdered......look....theres more...." she said, looking down. Fireflight turned to face her.
"what do you mean...?" she asked. Goldstar sighed. she looked at her.
"someone didn't just kill Goldwing....they killed his wife and son too....i found the bodys in the bedroom...." she said, sadly. Fireflight was shocked.
"what...?! someone killed all three of them...?!" she asked. Goldstar nodded her head, slowly.
"we must find out who did this..." she said. Fireflight looked up.
"i will find out who did this....i will get revenge for thier deaths....." she said, with fire in her eyes, and an angry tone in her voice.

Blackpearl was sleeping in her room. Thunderhead was about to leave the temple. he would have told Blavkpearl where he was going, but he didn't want to disturb her. so, he left the temple, and flew away in the distance. Blackpearl had woken not long after he had left. she had woken up due to a sharp pain in her stomach. she grunted and groaned. she knew what was coming. Blackpearl took a deep breath. she let out a low, roar of pain. then, it was over. she layed her head down, and rested for a moment. she then looked up, and laying beside her was a small, emerald green egg. Blackpearl smiled. she knew Thunderhead would be trilled. however, now, she needed to rest. she layed her head back down, and closed her eyes. the egg lay beside her. Blackpearl's wing then covered the egg like a blanket. she would rest as she waited for Thunderhead to return. she figured she would only rest her eyes a moment. she was worn out, and felt like her energy had been drained from her. she felt as though she used the last bit of her strength just to lay the egg.
hours went by, and Thunderhead still had not returned. Blackpearl lay motionless, with the egg safe and warm beneath her wing. it was late that night, soon approaching midnight. Thunderhead had finally landed outside the temple. he walked up to the temple door, opened it, and walked inside. he figured Blackpearl would be resting.
"Blackpearl?" he called, quietly. there was no answer. he walked into the bedroom. he saw that she lay motionless. he figured she was sleeping, and thought nothing of it at first. then he noticed something. he noticed that she wasn't breathing. he rushed over to her. "Blackpearl?!" he asked. he was now worried. he tried to get her to start breathing, but nothing worked. he checked for a heartbeat, but there wasn't one. he now felt hopeless. he turned away, with tears in his eyes. then, in the corner of his eye, he noticed that her wig slightly moved. he turned towards her wing, and watched it closely. her wing moved once more. it seemed to almost try to lift itself up, but couldn't. curious, Thunderhead lifted Blackpearl's wing. he was shocked at what he found. before him layed an emerald green egg. Thunderhead examined the egg. there were little green oval-shaped markings on the egg. they seemed to look like rain drops. then the egg started to wiggle around a little. Thunderhead was shocked once more. he had never seen the egg before, and figured Blackpearl layed it sometime that day. he wondered how such a small egg could hatch so soon. he watched it carefully. the egg moved a little more. then a tiny crack appeared on the egg. Thunderhead watched in anticipation. the egg wiggled around more, as it also began to crack more and more. soon, there were tiny cracks all around the egg. then a small, tan horn poked through the top part of the egg. then another tan horn poked through the egg. soon, a small tail poked through the egg on the other side. the egg cracked more and more. the cracks were getting bigger. a small green paw poked through on the front side of the egg. the green paw had tan claws, and soon another paw poked through the egg. then the egg cracked more, and pieces of egg shells were all around a small, green dragoness. the hatchling looked up at Thunderhead with light green eyes. her tail-end was a bit dimaond-shaped, and it was orange, and green at the tip. the outside of her wings were green, and the inside was orange. she had oval-shaped, green markings on her, just like her egg did. Thunderhead wondered why she had markings, and why they resembled rain drops. he looked at the female hatchling. she looked up at him. "you need a name..." he said. he figured Blackpearl probally thought of a name, but there was no way of knowing what. he would have to think of one himself. "i just wanna warn you, i'm not good with names..." he said. "uh.....Hellen maybe...?" he asked. the hatchling gave him a wierd look. "i'll take that as a no.....how about Eve...?" he asked. the hatchling sort of cocked her head to the side. "ok......um.....uh.......Evelyn....?" he muttered. the hatchling thought a moment. then she smiled, and nodded her head. Thunderhead smiled. "good....glad you like it...its your name now....Evelyn....yeah...i can get used to that....its a pretty name..." he said. Evelyn smiled, and nodded her head.

Goldstar showed Fireflight the bodies of Goldwing's wife and son. they wern't in as bad shape as him. his wife had the same exact stab would. she also had wounds and bruises, but not as many. his son only had one bite mark on the neck. Fireflight examined it carefully. the bite mark was deep, there was blood all around it.
"thats odd...theres only a bite mark on him..."
"yeah...no one is sure of how he died..." replied Goldstar. Fireflight looked at her.
"none of the bodies were moved...so they all died here...but no evil being is able to enter the temple...so, how did someone get in...?"
"i don't know...but many are concerned...they are worried...they wonder who will be the new head elder..."
"that is not my place to decide, Goldstar....maybe you should be the head elder..."
"m--me..?! i--i--i can't...! i can't be like Goldwing...! he was the best...! maybe...you--"
"no...i can't...i'm the Whitelighter...i can't just leave one job to get another one..." she interupted.
"but your perfect for the job...! you've been everything...and you've saved the world countless of times...youknow alot more than i do, and you've been around longer than anyone else i know...plus...Goldwing believed you could....he respected you, and always had high hopes for you...he would be happy to know that you would take his place..."
"i just don't think i can...i mean, who would be the next Whitelighter? i certainly can't be both..."
"well, no...but you could pick someone worthy enough to be a Whitelighter...but i really think you should be the next head elder..."
"i don't know, Goldstar...."
"come with me....i need to show you something..." she said, as she walked out of the bedroom. Fireflight followed her.
"where are we gonig? what are you showing me?"
"something...that will change your mind..." she said, as she walked down the hall.

back at the temple, Thunderhead was sound asleep in his room. Evelyn was already awake, and wondering around the temple. she walked into every room, and looked around for something intresting to play with. so far, she didn't find anything. she then walked into the library. she saw hundreds of books all around the room. she got one off the shelf, and opened it. however, she couldn't read yet. she then put the book back, and left the room. then Evelyn walked into the training room. it appeared empty at first, but then a ape dummy appeared in the middle of the room. Evelyn walked up to the dummy, and looked at it curiously. then Evelyn felt a sneeze coming. when she sneezed, she opened her mouth, and some green acid shot out of her mouth, and landed on the dummy. Evelyn watched as the acid ate through the dummy. then the dummy disappeared. Evelyn was surprised. she didn'y know what just happened. then Evelyn heard something. someone was clapping. she looked around, but didn't see anyone.
