Honestly, Jim Cummings is amazing. He always is. Although, Mark Hamill would have been great too.

Guys, Skylanders Academy needs to last forever and forever be great. I'm kind of blown away about how good it is.

It wasn't really so much as his voice as was it a couple of his lines ... guess that's what happens when you're expecting at least something closer to his TLOS version. Still pretty cool though, and I'm digging the underlying plot points added in.

I'd have honestly been very curious to hear Mark Hamill's take without a horrible voice filter over it. But honestly, I kind of like Malfotnik, which is what I'll be calling him henceforth. XP

Also wow, what a coinkydink. A day after watching Elementary, Dear Eruptor, roomate is watching Elementary. I had almost forgotten why the episode would parody that show until then.

At least I think it's that show. Sherlock is a good candidate but Eruptor's lines seem to be a parody of the former.

If anything were to grab my attention by a HUGE margin, It'd be that Eric decides to place smilie or smilie into the show. I'd also be very pleased if they get their original voice actors (Steve Blum and Keston John) to reprise their roles.

Also I'm unsure about how to feel about Glumshanks since he unironically likes Atlas Shrugged

Speaking of which, am I the only one bothered by the fact the characters know about Earth culture? They talk about countries, philosophers, books... Kinda weirds me because there's not much sense in it.

Yeah, that's one of the problems I have with the show. It doesn't fit the world. They also mention the Sun will explode someday, but knowing Skylands, it probably won't.

Yeah, they’re just cheap jokes thrown in there because of the contrast. I agree that directly referencing real people in this made up fantasy world is kinda weird, but they don’t happen too often for me to think it’s a big issue IMO

The Sun thing makes sense, but they also constantly say 'human' when Eon is literally the only known human in both canons.

Oh yeah, that annoyed me greatly. It’s a simple rewrite to make, too! Just say “real emotion” or something like that.

Luckily there weren’t any huge plot holes that I could recall. I will never forgive them for them keeping Wolfgang’s HYPNOTIC bone harp while he was still in jail. That’s just lazy

Oh the Sun one does make sense, but I doubt it'll explode ever for Skylands.

Head-canon for the references to Earth media. They just so happen to have similar things to Earth. Naming a certain Earth place, though, shouldn't be a thing. Bombshell should have said The Cloud Kingdom or something, instead of Paris.

Does Skylands even have a sun? It's a different dimension or something, not a planet, right? Because a planet that goes both up and down seemingly infinitely wouldn't really work.

There's the sun in the Empire of Ice, though you can't see it. Academy has a sun in plenty of shots.

Would there be islands around it, or would they be sucked towards it by it's gravity? How would it light all the Skylands? It could be posible there must be several suns arround Skylands, since all those places in Skylands would need light, unless there places where the sun doesn't shine ever.

So, I've finally managed to watch the third episode:

I like how they portrayed Cynder, and I was not expecting her to be Malefor's daughter even if I started suspecting it through the episode and even somehow came close to it in one of my previous spoilers (though I'm still not sure she is, could have just stolen her egg like in the comics or Legend of Spyro) but I'm not digging the Undead Dragon King as much.

While I do like his look I think they changed it too drastically compared to the comics, and while it's true that the games never saw a proper representation of it it's still a rather big change compared to how they adapted other designs.
And I was hoping he would have been more serious; the comic one already was more over the top, arrogant and "flamboyant" compared to his original incarnation but this is more comical than anything (and the italian voice didn't help this time); I learned to accept it with the Doom Raiders, but I had big expectations for him.
I do loved how he apparently eliminated all the other purple dragons, which explains why he isn't one himself anymore and shows he's still a terrible threat.

I unexpectedly enjoyed the Doom Raiders' sub-plot, and I'm loving how Kaos is the evilest among them.
Also I was not expecting Malefor this soon at all, so it still was a great surprise! smilie
Guess he's not the entity at the end of Season 1, after all, and Netflix's thumbnail suggests it might appear in this season as well.


Long story short spoiler-free: overall enjoyed and liked it, but a bit disappointed about certain aspects.
Even more intrigued than before about the horizontal plot!

Since Netflix is paying for season 3 I hope that we get more characters next seasons activison haven’t payed for many this time smilie

We only got like three new skylanders and a few villans


I want a super chargers arc so bad TBH and I want jet-vac to have a crush on stormblade just like the comics.

Eric mentioned that him and all of the Skylanders Academy writing team are working toghter again for something it can’t be anything other than season 4...They will most likely start pinching ideas and start writing the story / script before getting an approval for the fourth season.

Edit : it seems like Eric already has plenty of ideas since he wants a bunch of characters for the show like Fiesta , Flynn and Krancase.
I hope that Fiesta helps introduce Money bone and That we get a boom bloom and Krancase epsoide

I could see it be an NDA. Besides, we got confirmation of season 2 and 3 a while after SA S1 premiered anyway. I also see no reason to cancel it. Seems to be one of Netflix's bigger kids shows anyway, popularity wise.

If SA got funko pops, I'd totally get them. Outside of the Gwenpool ones and the Mikey from TMNT I have, I ain't into them, buuuuut Skylander funkos are a total buy for me.

Add some dark elements into the show, and i'm not refering to the Elemental Skylanders, the season finale is something the next season should take direction. The Kid friendly excuse is so poor it's Netflix they can get the way with anything.

Also asking for more darker themes in the show doesn't mean I wanted to be Edgy. Dark =/= Edgy.

Just saw the fourth episode, I unexpectedly liked it a lot!

The premise didn't sound that interesting nor exciting, but the dynamics between Spyro and Stealth Elf were really enjoyable.
For a moment I thought they would have given her a new weapon as an homage to upgrades in the games, but I'm glad she kept her blades in the end; and finally Spyro discovered that someone is trying to keep his past a secret, amazing developments incoming!

The Doom Raiders sub-plot was nice as well and I wasn't expecting to see Kaossandra again this soon.
I really like how Kaos is beginning to be respected by the others and how he is actually the only one willing to do actual bad stuffs.


And tomorrow will finally be Sprocket's time! smilie

Just finished episode five:

OH MY GOD, I loved Broccoli Guy!
I was absolutely not expecting him to be so power-thirsty and manipulative, really thought he was completely under Golden Queen and Kaos' control.
I sincerely hope to see this part of his personality again in the future, maybe even letting him acquire all the 8 Elements (guess Light and Dark still aren't a thing, yet).

Really liked this episode, I suspected Eruptor's test would ultimately end up being a mistake but I'm glad it's actually a true power he simply prefers not to use, though I'd like to see these one-time gimmicks being kept longer than their titular episodes.
Wishing to see Spyro's wings-shield again.


Looks like things are going to get spooky in next episode!

That isn't quite a spoiler. Eric has Dark and Light as fundamental parts of Skylands, so it seems to be the balance of good and evil like most shows. He already said he doesn't plan on using actual dark/light-aligned characters in the show anytime soon. The Sun Runner is probably there for being easier to model than the Jet Stream while still being easy to manipulate in a scene(doesn't have a small cockpit like the Sky Slicer). Same reasoning works for why we have the Tomb Buggy and not the Burn-Cycle.
