I didn't find the burned lands that bad actually in co-op. On single player it is horriably frustrating.

It's so much fun discovering new things I thought I would never enjoy! First Dawn of the Dragon and now Ren & Stimpy! YAY!

Play the two player mode by yourself. See just one of the reasons I DESPISE the level.

If you dislike repetitive gameplay, then you definitely do not want to waste $20 on this game. It's nothing but repetitive gameplay, and pretty cutscenes (sorry DotD fans, it's just my opinion). If you really want to know what happens, just find the cutscenes on youtube and watch them in order. It generally gives the same effect as fighting enemies and solving easy-but-over-complicated puzzles over and over again, and then seeing a cutscene.

The most fun I have had playing this game is using my codebreaker to have unlimited mana, and then promptly pwning everyone with Cynder's fear powers. Everything else...ugh. Not worth the money; not worth the time.

I love DoTD, but I agree the levels were a bit repetitive and could drag-on, sometimes...

I agree with the easy-but-over-complicated puzzles. It didn't take long to solve them but they were horribly tedious to do. The Ruins of Warfang was just one big puzzle.

I think my copy is glitched in the ruins of war fang......

I'll give a shot in my spare time anyway. I think you've unlocked Master of Fire, the achievements of the cheats may only block not taken for the realization of a level, beating a boss without dying, etc, or maybe it was because I had these tricks.

I LOVE IT. Best game since the original trilogy. I wish that the next game coming was also by EL.

And forget what I said about disliking Burnt Lands, it's a cool level.

Best game since the original trilogy? Wow. I must admit I did think it was different at the time, and I gave the one a bit of praise, but after a while to me it's just "Meh..."

The Elders don't bother me that much. There are a couple of characters that do though.

Oh yeah, that's definitly a downfall for AHT. Pretty much all bosses are crappy. Even though STD's bosses are easy, they're at least a little interesting and a bit different each time.

I know the Sparx challenges are kind of rubbish, but there weren't all that great in Spyro 3 to be perfectly honest.

Dawn of the Dragon is awesome, and I stand by that. It doesn't suck at all.

It's all due to opinions I guess, but the actual ratings for the earliest Spyro games did receive more than the later. I do think though that it seems to me that when people like DOTD they like to over rate it and don't really tend to think too much on previous games. I made that mistake at one point. Or when people dislike it, they make it become so under rated, I think for me, the highest I could ever give DOTD is a mere 6 out of 10, for the only reason that they did try and make it a little different from the previous two.

By the way, the part in bold, I may not be entirely accurate, but I have seen it a few times.

I might give a 7 solely on the basis of graphics, but nothing higher.

Why are you worrying about graphics? It's a game, the main thing that should be worried about is the gameplay, I wouldn't notch up my score at all because of graphics.

It's not that bad. I've seen MUCH, MUCH worse.

For a game made in 2008, I think the AI is fine.

You still can't fly very far though, it's not nothing awesome, you can only really fly in areas you're supposed to. You always get these annoying currents that push you down most of the time, making the flying feel like a useless gimmick in my opinion.

It seems to me that the flying has been limited in order to allow the game to still be a platformer. In most cases you can't just fly up to the highest point, there's a limit to the altitude you can take from the ground below you, meaning that in order to fly to higher places, you need to take a route that has the ground below you gradually ascending.

If this limit didn't exist, the platforming feature of the game would be oxymoronic since you'd just be able to fly everywhere. The hard part is figuring out how the flying works, but once you do you shouldn't have too much trouble with it. I know I didn't.

Of course, the idea of a limit would make sense in physics...

What's the point of calling it 'Free-flight' when you can't exactly free-flight because the developers still wanted platforming elements, they may aswell just left it out really.

That was annoying for me, even that didn't make the experience 'free' unlike previous games.

Plus, they mixed flying and jumping so you couldn't really fly upwards that much.
Like, you know, that wheel in the Ruins of Warfang where you have to light all the torches to make it move. It always takes me ten thousand years to light that damn thing.
