Chapter 56: Secrets

".......wait.....hold on a second....." a male voice whispered.
"why? you chicken?" a female teased.
"no! i just..... i don't want to go in there..." he whispered. the two of them stood at the base of a tall, dark mountain. it was fully shrouded in darkness, and seemed to have an evil vibe to it.
"oh, come on, Tundra. do you want to know about our past, or not?"
"i don't, remember? you dragged me into this!"
"what?! i asked if you wanted to tag along, and you did. i didn't make you do anything."
"whatever, kid. let's just get this over with."
"i have a name, you know."
"no, i don't know. and i don't care to know."
"it's Rouge. i believe i told you that already."
"then i wasn't listening."
"look, could you just shut up, so we can go in?"
"me? go in there? uh, no. it's bad enough i'm hanging out with you, but now you want me to step into the lair of the evil dragoness? are you crazy?!"
"no, i'm not crazy. well, maybe a little, but that's besides the point. look, we need to find out the truth. and we need a pool or some books to do that. and since you didn't offer to take me to your palce, we're going in here."
"i didn't offer because only ice dragons are allowed in the kingdom."
"that's great. but we need to go in before somebody sees us."
"yeah, like going in is better for us."
"well, it is for me. i live here."
"well, yippee for you, but they may try to kill me!"
"well, arn't you just a ray of sunshine. look, you can wait here, if you want, but i'm going in."
"and you're just going to leave me out here to get caught?"
"if you don't shut up and get your but in here, then yes. look, either you stick with me, or i let them do what they want to you. i don't care. we just met, you think i care whether you live or die?" she asked. Tundra sighed.
"fine. lead the way." he said. then he followed her inside.
:meanwhile:
"i don't understand it. she couldn't just disappear." Zanna said with a puzzled expression.
"well, she did. poof! gone. like magic." Flash said.
"is that even possible? and why would she leave? she said she would help us." Tynan said.
"i don't know. i mean, it's possible. but why?" Zanna questioned. then they heard wing flaps.
"not again!" Flash yelled.
"would you calm down? it's probally just a dragon." Zanna told him. then just as she said that, two dragons landed on the ground.
"uh, actually, it's not just a dragon. look!" Tynan pointed. a large green dragoness, and a young ice dragon had just landed.
"huh? Wintro?" Flash asked.
"and Slean." Zanna added.
"i apoligize for dissapearing, young ones. but i heard this young lad cry out for help, and i could not help but answer his plea." she explained.
"uh, yeah...... thanks...." he muttered, sounding as if he wasn't sure that was what happened.
"well, it's certainly nice to have you back, Miss Slean." Zanned said.
"and it's nice to see you too, Wintro. what are you doing here?" Tynan asked.
"i was looking for T--"
"Tynan. he was looking for you." Slean interruped.
"oh, really? why?" he asked.
"oh, uh...... " Wintro muttered, not so sure himself.
"he needs help finding his friend. he thinks he has been kidnapped." Slean answered.
"you mean Tundra? sure. we'll help. right guys?" Tynan turned to the others.
"of course!" Flash said, eagerly.
"absolutely." Zanna smiled.
"wonderful! shall we get started on our search then?" Slean smiled. all but Wintro nodded. then Slean led the way through the wasteland.

Uh oh i wonder how tundras mom will take the fact that her son is there? and why does she want him dead?

all will be revealed later. now be patient while i write more.

Chapter 57: A Hidden Dark Side

Slean led the young dragons through the wasteland for some time. all but Wintro seemed eager to keep going.
"listen, something isn't right......" he whispered to Tynan.
"what do you mean?" he asked, confused.
"it's.......her......." he glanced at Slean. "....she's not........who you think......." he whispered.
"then who is she?"
"she's......." he started to whisper in his ear, when Slean stopped walking. the others did as well. Slean turned to them.
"Wintro, may i see you for a moment? alone." she asked. he looked at her nervously, and gulped.
"go ahead. we'll wait." Zanna said. Slean walked off, and Wintro followed reluctantly. they walked a few feet away. they kept walking until the others were out of view, and unable to hear them. then Slean slowly turned to face Wintro. he gulped, as if he knew what would happen now.
"Wintro. dear, Wintro. why must you make things difficult?"
"i don't mean to....." he said, nervously.
"you were about to give away my secret. i can not allow that."
"i'm sorry.......i'm just an ice dragon......" he muttered. she reached out her claw, grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him up to her eye level.
"you had better be more than sorry."
"but i didn't do anything.......please.......i beg you......" he whimpered. then she dropped him.
"walk away." she said. he hesistated. "go on. walk away." she continued. then he slowly turned, and started to walk away. he took a few steps, and then, Slean quickly grabbed a dagger, and threw it at him. it hit him in the back. he groaned and fell to the ground. then she rushed over with another dagger. "nobody crosses me." she snarled. then she slit his throat without hesistation, and without mercy. within seconds, he was dead. Slean stepped back with a grin. she took her daggers, and layed them on the ground. she spit acid on them, and they melted. then she spit acid onto the body, causing it to melt. then she licked her paws clean of the blood. "there. the evidence is disposed of. now no one will know who i am or what i have done." she grinned evily. then her face changed, making her appear to be disappointed. then she walked back to the others.
"oh, hey, Slean. glad your back. where's Wintro?" Zanna asked.
"oh, it is such a shame. just as we were about to talk, he was contacted telepathtically, and he had to leave. he said it was important. so, we are just going go have to continue without him." she explained. with the way she spoke, it almost sounded like it truly was the truth.
"oh, that's too bad." Zanna said.
"yeah. but we have to go find Tundra. Wintro would want us to." Tynan added.
"you are quite right. we must carry on. so, come along, young ones. we must not delay if we are ever going to reach Tundra in time to save him from his kidnappers." she said. then they followed her once more through the wasteland.

Then who the heck is slean then? what the? im very confused but i must read more to find out. but wintro is dead.... no.....

me: hes gunna blow! *jumps down and covers head*

Chapter 58: Finding Answers

".....should we even be in here.....?" a male voice whispered.
"no, not at all. that's why we're here. now, shut up, will you? i need to find the books we need." a female voice replied.
"how are you ever going to find anything in this messy library? books are piled up everywhere!"
"would you shut up?! i'm tired of your complaing! no wonder my mother wanted you dead!"
"listen, kid, i'm not exactly trilled to be stuck with you either! i'm only here because you said we were going to find out more about our past. so, start searching!"
"all right, bossy, i'll get right on it!" she smirked as she went through books. the male sat and did nothing. "you know, Tundra, you could try helping me. it'll go a lot faster."
"it's bad enough i have to be here, there's no way i'm helping you."
"suit yourself, lazy." the muttered as she searched. "here's something." she said a few moments later. she walked up to him with a dark green book.
"what is it?" he asked.
"it's a dagger." she said, sarcastically. "what do you think?!" she then snapped. he rolled his eyes.
"i know that, genious. what's it say?" he asked. she read the title.
"The Legend of........" she trailed off.
"what? who's it about?"
"i can't tell. the writing is smudged."
"well, then open it." he insisted. Rouge set it down on a small table, and opened it up. they both gasped. on the very first page, was a picture of a dragon. it was a green dragoness.
"Mom! this is her book!" Rouge said, sounding a bit excited.
"look, there's words underneath..." Tundra pointed. then he read them. "This is the legend of a cruel, tricky, sly dragoness with a desire for power, and a thirst for destruction. her name is Slean." his eyes widened, and he gasped.
"why so shocked?" Rouge grinned.
"because i didn't want to believe it........ i asked my dad...... to tell me about my mom......... the first thing he mentioned........ was her name.........."
"well, don't stop there, keep going." she said. he turned away.
"no........she can't be evil......"
"well, guess what, she is. and her blood runs through my veins........ and yours..." she grinned.
"no!" Tundra turned sharply and growled. "i am nothing like her!"
"really? so you didn't get the poison element from her?"
"then that's the only thing!"
"no, i don't think so. her blood runs through your veins, so you must have a dark side."
"if i do, then i'm not showing it! i'm good! and since you breathe ice, you must have a good side..."
"nice try, but my mother wouldn't allow me to be good."
"then how come you haven't killed me? she wanted you to."
"that was before i realized who you are. maybe she didn't know."
"yeah, right. my dad told me the truth! she ditched me and him!"
"really? and how would you know? can you trust him? he could lie, you know."
"he wouldn't, not to me."
"he could. and he might. after all, he hid the truth for so long, why reveal it now? he obviously doesn't want you to know it. but i do. i will reveal the truth to you. the real truth. even if you don't trust or believe me, believe the book. the book won't lie. it can't. not unless what is written is a lie, and you know that no mistakes are made in writing these books. so, go ahead. read it. reading the book is the only way to discover the truth; the whole, real truth. intrested?" she asked, handing him the book.

Oh boy.... Tundra you better becareful oh i just thought of something now i think i know why tundra is her sister now. hahaha wow weird.

Chapter 59: Entering the Lair

after a long walk, Slean finally stopped at the base of a mountain. the others stopped, and looked up at the tall, dark mountain. each one shuddered as they got a bad vibe.
"well, shall we enter?" Slean asked, gazing back at them.
"enter?! you got to be kidding me!" Flash blurted out.
"Flash, Tundra could be in there." Zanna spoke up.
"yeah, we have to help him." Tynan added. "don't be such a coward."
"coward? i'm no coward! i laugh in the face of danger!" he started to laugh, then there was a loud boom. "AHHHHH!" he screamed, ducking, and looking in all directions.
"hmm, funny, that sounded more like a scream to me." Zanna teased.
"scream? nah! that's how i laugh!" he chuckled.
"right. anyway, we should go in." she said.
"yeah. Tundra needs our help." Tynan added.
"right this way." Slean grinned, leading them inside.
:meanwhile:
Tundra hesistated to take the book. Rouge grinned, and nodded. Tundra sighed, and then he took it. he plopped down on the ground, turned the page, and started reading. his eyes widened as he read. Rouge walked over to him, and peeked over his shoulder. he glanced back at her.
"do you mind? i'm trying to read." he said.
"yes, i do mind." she said. then she sat down beside him, and leaned over to read. "scoot over." she said, pushing him.
"here." he sighed, handing her the book.
"arn't you going to read? you really should."
"how can i when you're looking over my shoulder?"
"but i'm not. see? i'm beside you." she smiled at him, scooting closer.
"then at least scoot away, like way over that way." he pointed to the far wall.
"ok." she smiled, and then scooted even closer.
"you're just purposely trying to annoy me."
"is it working?"
"why do you care?"
"well, isn't that what little sisters do?" she asked. at that point, he got up, and turned away. "what's the matter?"
"you said it....." he muttered.
"oh. i get it. i said the 'S' word." she rolled her eyes. "why does that bother you? you can't deny the truth."
"i didn't know the truth before, and it never hurt me......" Rouge got up, and walked over to him.
"so, you're saying that you never wanted a mom or a sister?"
"i wondered what happened to my mom, but i never got answers. i wasn't supposed to know. at least that's what my dad said."
"still believing that old coot? face it, he lied."
"no...." he got up, and turned away again. Rouge got in front of him.
"well, he did. whether you like it or not, he lied. that book holds the truth. if you want to know more, read it. if not, then you're wasting me time."
"your time? what, you have better thing to do?"
"actually, yes. i do have a job here, you know. i'm not just the evil queen's daughter."
"evil queen?"
"my mom. actually, our mom."
"she's not my mother. she didn't raise me. Polaris is more my mother than she is."
"except for the fact that her blood doesn't run through your veins."
"well, what about you? would you consider my dad to be your dad?"
"no. i don't even know him. Murkvenom is more like a dad to me. but that's not the point. if his blood runs through my veins, then he is in fact my father."
"so, you'd admit that you may have an ice dragon for a dad? one that happens to be the king of an ice kingdom?"
"only if you admit that you may have a poison dragon for a mom, who happens to be the queen of evil."
"fine. you say it first."
"why me first?"
"because you're a girl. you know the saying, ladies first."
"age before beauty."
"posion before ice."
"huh? that's not a saying."
"it is now; i said it."
"that doesn't count."
"yes, it does."
"no, i doesn't."
"quiet!" a female voice growled. they turned to the door to see Slean standing there with an angry expression. "what is he doing here alive?" she snarled.
