Chapter 11

“From now on, you will train in Warfang,” Blaze told Malefor. Malefor blinked. Warfang!? But that’s the place were only the most strongest dragons go to train!
“Yes, your unique abilities and Cloudwings sign only means that you are the dragon we’ve been waiting for.” The fire dragon Guardian continued. Malefor wanted to do a flip in the air. Ha! In your face, Cyril! Wait till I tell Mum and Gadzooks about this! he thought, bubbling with excitement.
“Should we go to Warfang tomorrow?” Thunder asked. Asura nodded. “Yes, it will give us and Malefor time to gather his strength for the journey.” The other dragons nodded with agreement, except for Sokka. Wasn’t he proud that his grandson was going to Warfang? A place only the toughest dragons go to train? Guess not. Malefor fought back a approaching growl in his throat.

“I can’t believe your going to Warfang!” Mellina cried when she heard that her son was going to Warfang, a place where only the strongest and most bravest dragons went to train. “My big boy! Oh, I wish Salmu were here to see this.” She continued hugging her son tight. Yeah, as if Dad would be proud of me…Malefor thought, trying to push away from his mother. Gadzooks was bouncing around with excitement for his older brother. “And you can tell me all about it when you get back, right?” Gadzooks squeaked. Malefor smiled and flicked his tail. “Of course, you won’t stop bugging me until I do anyway.” he joked.
Blaze and the other Guardians padded up to join Malefor and his mother. “Are you ready?” the fire Guardian asked. Malefor gulped. Am I really worthy enough to go to Warfang?… “Yes,” he replied. Thunder nodded. “Good, now follow.”

Sorry it's not long, but that's all I've done for now.

The journey to Warfang was hard, and it rained constantly. Nobody else was allowed to come but Malefor and the dragon Guardians. They journeyed past Dragon City, were a civilization of moles lived. They had welcomed the dragons warmly. I can’t believe it! I’m really going to Warfang! Malefor thought as he walked alongside Asura, the ice dragon Guardian. Sokka hadn’t spoken to Malefor during the whole trip. He was still probably grieving for his lost son. And it’s all my fault…Malefor grimly reminded himself. It’s my fault Dad is gone…good thing nobody else knows about this. he thought, biting his lip.
“Here we are,” said Blaze. Malefor looked up to see what looked like a giant door or gate. “This is an secret entrance to Warfang,” said Jack, a mole that had walked with them through Dragon City. The Guardians nodded. Jack gave a swift nod and ran over to what looked like a padlock. He grabbed out a golden key and clicked it into a hole and twisted it. The gate suddenly swung open. Malefor’s stomached twisted. I’m in Warfang!

Chapter 12

Malefor found himself walking inside what looked like endless columns and ruins. “Welcome to Warfang,” Thunder grunted, stalking ahead. Malefor blinked, trying to take it all in. “Warfang…” he muttered, glancing up at all the dragon statues that lay before him. Blaze padded up next to the young purple dragon. “We haven’t taken any other young dragons into Warfang before. You’re the first.” she said. Malefor’s eyes widened. I’m the first dragon of my age to come here!
“W-when will I continue training?” he asked. Blaze chuckled. “Today, actually. Thunder is bursting to know if you can breathe electricity breath, not to mention your mother.” Malefor nodded, trotting to keep up with the other dragons.
Blaze spread out her wings, flapped them a few times, and then soared into the air. She was soon followed by Sokka, Asura, and then Thunder. Malefor unfolded his wings and quickly flew after them. He swooped over the ruins, glancing down he saw what looked like an endless pit of darkness. The darkness swallowed everything up after a few metres, and Malefor shivered at the thought at what might be lurking in the shadows.
The Guardians landed on a large platform, with a small bridge-like pathway on the other side. There was a wheel thing, and some strange golden metal things with strange shapes on them. (the metal things which Cynder uses her Fear breath on to make the pathway in DOTD) Malefor glided down next to them. “What are those metal things for?” he asked, curious. “Those are objects that only dark dragons can use,” Asura told him. “They say that only Fear can open the bridge.” What does that mean? Fear can only open the bridge? he wondered.
Thunder stepped forward. “Now Malefor, let’s see if you can tame the harsh spirit of electricity.” the electricity dragon said. He nodded. Malefor felt more confident on electricity, seeing as his mother was an electricity dragon.

“Electricity, the spark of life, listen closely and you shall learn it’s secrets…” Thunder began. Malefor gulped, his heart racing. “Now, young dragon, I want you to try and zap this piece of rock for me,” he said, placing a large black stone in front of him. “Close your eyes,” Thunder continued. Malefor did as he was told. “And now feel the electricity charge through your body…when the time is right, unleash it’s power.” Malefor squeezed his eyes, his body tingling with energy. Feel the electricity charge through your body…
“Raaah!” Malefor roared, his claws hooked into the stone floor, as he opened his mouth to let out a stream of yellow electricity zap out of his mouth onto the black stone, shattering it into a thousand pieces. Thunder beamed. “Well done, young dragon! You can breathe electricity! Your mother will be pleased.”
Malefor grinned. This is great! Ha, in your face Cyril! I can breathe four elements! he thought, itching to go back to the Temple.
Blaze, Asura and Sokka stepped forward. Sokka still didn’t say anything, he just gave Malefor an evil glance, then turned his back to him. Malefor’s heart sank.
He should at least congratulate me. “This is wonderful! Who ever knew that a purple dragon could master four elements!” Asura cried. “Yes, it’s quite unbelievable, isn’t it?” Blaze added. Malefor didn’t listen to what else the Guardians said, instead he started out into the ruins of Warfang, wondering what places he could discover there.
“Go on then,”
Malefor whipped his head around to face Blaze; How did she know!?
“Excuse me?” Malefor asked, puzzled.
“You want to go and explore, don’t you? I can see it in those yellow eyes of yours.” She said, smiling. Malefor beamed. “Really? Thank you! I promise I won’t go far, or get into trouble, or do anything stup-” “Just go, have fun. We haven’t got much time.” Asura added, who had been listening. Malefor nodded, and then jumped off the edge of the platform, falling into the darkness.
He suddenly flicked his wings open, flapping them wildly, and was soon soaring above the ruins. Malefor kept on flying, until his wings grew tired. He glided down to what seemed like a small cave. He landed, folded back his wings, and peered curiously inside the cave. “H-hello? Is anyone there?” he whispered, his voice echoing off the cave walls.
Nothing.
“Hello?”
Still no reply.
“You are like me.” rasped a strange, croaky voice.
“Who said that?” Malefor growled, his teeth bared.
“You are like me, Malefor.” came the strange voice again.
“How do you know my name!?” Malefor cried, starting to panic.
“Come forward, purple dragon.” hissed the voice. Malefor stared deep into the darkness, and saw two yellow eyes, (like his) glowing in the dark.
“No, you come out.” Malefor growled.
There was a long silence. “H-hello? I’m sorry, I-I…” Malefor said quietly. Suddenly there was what sounded like claws scraping against stone, but then suddenly a dark, giant purple dragon emerged from the cave, and Malefor wondered how in the world could a dragon that big fit in such a small cave.
Malefor’s mouth gaped open. “B-but you’re a-a-a-a p-purple d-dragon-!” he spluttered. The male purple dragon grunted. “Yes, you are correct. You are the second purple dragon ever to exist. I am the first.” Malefor was completely confused. “But the Hermit said I was the first…and everyone else said that I was the first, too. I don’t understand!” “They all got their memories erased.” the purple dragon replied simply. “Everyone expect the Hermit, he was lying to you.”
“Why would a crazy old cheetah lie to me? After all what he said?” Malefor asked, still puzzled. But this is impossible! How could everyone get their memories erased? That’s impossible! he thought.
“Yes. You must understand this, the Hermit is just saying these things to drive you mad, make you consume everything…I almost died, and I still am dying…slowly…my heart getting eaten away by the darkness…don’t find the corruption, young dragon, or else you shall suffer the same fate.”
“What do you mean? I don’t understand- what corruption? And what is your name anyway?” Malefor questioned.
“Rapture.” the purple dragon replied.

Chapter 13

“You still haven’t answered my question,” Malefor said. “How do you know my name?” he asked again. Rapture chuckled. “Why should I answer the questions from a hatchling?” “Because we’re like each other; we’re both purple dragons. We’re the only purple dragons, aren’t we?” Malefor mumbled, not so sure.
“Yes. We’re the only purple dragons,” Rapture replied. “Purple dragons are only born once, every ten generations.” he added.
Malefor’s eyes widened. “Really?…but what I still don’t get, how did the others get their memories erased but you and the Hermit?”
“I erased their memories, only the memories of me, I didn’t erase the Hermit’s because he swore never to tell a soul about me.” Rapture said simply.
“But what if he did?” Malefor asked.
“I would kill him.”
“Oh,”
“Yeah.”
“But…why do purple dragons breathe four elements? What’s the point of our species?”
“Because that is what the ancestors have gifted us with. Usually it is when an earth and electricity dragon-”
“Okay, okay, you don’t have to go any further than that.” Malefor quickly spluttered. But I still don’t get it! What’s the big deal with a earth and electricity dragons? What’s so special about my parents?
“Earth and electricity, as you might already know, doesn’t go together at all. So…when their bloods are mixed together…only when it is on the tenth generation, they make purple dragons.” Rapture answered.
“Malefor! Come on, we have to go now!” Malefor heard Blaze yell.
“I would love to stay and chat, but I really have to go.” Malefor said.
“There is one element you still have to master.” Rapture added.
Malefor gave a puzzled look. “And what’s that?” he asked.
“You shall find out in time, now go, young dragon.”

“Okay, um, bye Rapture.” Malefor said awkwardly and flew off. Rapture watched him go, sticking to the shadows. “He shall destroy us all…” Rapture muttered to himself, slinking back into his cave.
Malefor flew back to the Guardians, landing next to them. “What took you so long?” snapped Sokka, his tail whacking the ground. “Um…there was…so many things to explore?” Malefor quickly lied. Blaze smiled. “Come now, let’s get back to the Temple. Your mother will be dying to know that you can breathe electricity too.” Malefor nodded and trotted up to the female fire dragon, closely followed by Asura, Thunder and Sokka.
The dragons came out of Warfang, and back into the Dragon City, where they were greeted by Jack the mole and some other moles.

After a long journey, the dragons finally made it back to the Temple. “Hey, look, Malefor’s back!” cried Ignitus, a young fire dragon and one of Malefor’s friends. “Hi, guys.” Malefor called, smiling weakly. “Hey, it’s Malefor!” added Terrador, closely followed by Volteer and Amber. “Malefor! Mum!” Amber cried, rushing to Malefor and her mother. Blaze greeted her daughter with open arms. “Amber, where you good while I was away?” Blaze asked. Amber nodded. “Corse I was, Mum. You know me.” she smiled. Blaze chuckled. “Of course you were.”
“Malefor! My son!”
He turned his head around to see Mellina and Gadzooks charging towards him. Malefor braced for impact as his mother and brother collided into him.
“Oh, honey! Your brother and I missed you so much! How was it?” she cried, squeezing the life out of him. “Yeah, it w-was great.” Malefor coughed.
“What did Warfang like? You promised to tell anyway.” Gadzooks squeaked. Malefor smiled at his little brother, and struggled away from his mother so he could tell them what happened. “It was…really interesting, old, and ancient…I got to explore it for a while-” he bit his lip- “but I didn’t find anything. And you know what?” Malefor grinned.
“What?” said Mellina and Gadzooks at the same time.
“I can breathe electricity too!”

Gadzooks is cute, and so is malefor! I really love your story!
