American history is a joke. Honestly, this entire country is a joke. Sometimes I feel like I'm losing brain cells just by existing in this country.

Eh I don't think america is a bad country. Tbh in my opinion it's the most unique country in the world with one of the major factors being it's population and diversity. Like if I were to go to California and then to montana the difference in culture would be insane.

Honestly whenever I hear about americans self loathing about their home country its because it's their home country and the lack of experience of other countries leads to pessimism.

There's a reason why the country has the most immigrants

But yeah things like racism, conglomerates, and expensive health care being a thing is bad but those things aren't really american exclusive. Plus the fact that we are able to talk about it without the fear of being executed is amazing and shows how we are different than let's say china or saudi arabia.

Maybe I should be more specific. I don't think we're the worst country to exist, but I do think there are plenty of things we need to learn from other countries. There are loads of concepts I don't understand how we still haven't grasped yet, or things that the majority still thinks is appropriate or okay. I just get frustrated with the way SOME people behave in this country and how often times people get pinned into these generalized groups because unreasonable people exist. I mean, that's an issue for any country, but obviously for personal experience, I can only get pinned into American stereotypes, since I've never been anywhere else. We do have pros, but the cons can be incredibly irritating, especially when they're somehow your fault for existing as an American. Like, I'd love to be done with things like expensive healthcare, but I have little to no control over that situation. I also do realize, however, that things like lack of control or stereotyping are not exclusively American concerns. Part of me just hates the really aggressive patriotic people who refuse to even discuss the idea anything is wrong with America and the way its easy to get in-grouped with them and their antics.

I'm not gonna pretend I know everything about other countries, but I do understand at least to some degree the issues of other countries. I don't want to be the ignorant American stereotype, but I'm also not gonna be the braggadocios American stereotype and act like I know everything. So I'm just gonna comfortably place myself in the middleground and say that I do understand nuance exists, but I'm not a master on these nuances.

I want things to be better here. I don't want to hate the country. And honestly, I don't know if I hate it or if I'm just frustrated to the point where I accidentally use an intense word because my frustrations are blowing over. Its just frustrating every time you see things going even more down the toilet and half the country is like "No, this is fine." and you feel powerless to do anything but just acknowledge a problem exists. Its hard to deal with issues when you feel like all you can do is sit around and watch things fall apart.

So while I do stand by the gist of what I said, I will take back the intensity of the statement. I just want to see SOMETHING improve. But we feel like we're in a one step forward and two steps back situation.

7 deadly sins is not only a bad anime but the idea is so broad most characters in media can be argued into being any of the sins.

Every coma theory is. "In episode 68 main character bill hit his head. Now the show is coma"

Every purgatory one is "character bill is dead now he is is in hell"

Coma theories are the absolute worst of them all. Every fan theory and creepypasta was based on that in the 2010's.

I liked the coma theory the very first time I heard it with Pokemon, but then literally EVERY show had to be a coma and I got sick and tired of it. Why does everything fun and fantasy have to be a coma? After a while, it just becomes annoying.

After finishing squid game and Alice in borderland I can now say that these shows are different and shouldn't be compared. Sure they both feature games where you die if you lose a game but the approach is completely different. It's like saying konosuba and rezero are ripoffs of each other because it has people going to another world

Squid is more about people's greed and desperation revealing their true nature while alice is more about sacrifices and the will to survive.

i don't want to drag out discourse about the usa, but i think it's important to mention that the country itself was founded on the attempted and continued genocide of indigenous peoples. to me, this is a key factor in deciding my opinions about this place.

I don't consider talking about the problems with a certain country personal thoughts, I guess. I can't speak for everyone else, but it doesn't feel as personal since it doesn't just effect one person.

So it looks like all the candidates for Minecraft's mob vote this time are utility-based; the Glare helps find dark spots to make monster-proofing your base easier, and the Allay will pick up specific items that you designate for it.

Hopefully this'll create less of a divide. I feel like a problem with the last mob vote was that there were both passive and hostile mobs, so there was a divide between those that wanted more cute animals, and those that wanted a new enemy to fight.

biggest difference between racism in the us and racism in other countries is that America talks about their racism while other countries pretend they don't exist

So, on other websites, people will message me asking for me to roleplay with them, and I'll say "sure", because even though I don't do it here anymore, I still enjoy a nice RP. So they explain what they wanna do, who their characters are, the setting, etc. Then we start the RP and... they proceed to take a completely passive backseat role, putting in the absolute bare minimum effort and creativity in their posts. So I'm basically left writing the whole thing while they just kind of sit there and watch.

Like... what is that? Why would you ask me to roleplay with you and then not do anything? And it's not like I'm not giving them a chance to do stuff, I try to write in plenty of hooks they could use, but it's like they actively resist any attempt at getting them to participate in their own RP. Do they genuinely not have any ideas? Are they trying to be generous by "letting" me have the lion's share of the writing? Is this just some covert attempt and getting me to write their story for them? Because if I wanted to do that, I would take commissions and at least get paid for it. It just perplexes me.
