Chica swung her tail, a movement that meant follow her. "my den is this way, quickly," she said, running ahead, stopping from the to time to wait for the elephants

Avor and Bjorn follow Chica making their way to her den. They are slow but they are also the strongest creatures there are on the haven. The brothers look at one another wondering what is wrong with me.

Meanwhile back in Chica's den I continue to shiver and shake. My body temperature continues to rise as time passes. I have fallen asleep by now but the fever continues to worsen.

Avor gently picks up Rose and me before placing us securely and comfortably on Bjorn's. I curl up with my head against Rose's chest. Rivers of tears stream down my face as I continue to try to fight my pain. I shiver in my sleep and cold sweat drips down my entire body.

"Well, uh..." Voracivenom's expression appeared amused for a split second. "Mostly," he replied, remembering the conversations he heard the Keas talked about. They were quite the troublemakers, but they couldn't really help it; it was their nature. His thoughts lead to when he saw Skaliscin the first time in a long time. What was the leader's name... Mambo had remarked this by saying "two serpents falling in love". No, he was wrong. They were only friends, after all. She may not have been her sister by blood, but they were close enough to be nest-mates. Mates...
Voracivenom groaned, shaking the thoughts out of his head.

Sayan nodded, "I see... mostly is good." He paused for moment before continuing, "I hope the sanctuary continues to treat you well and that you are able to forget any bad things that may have happened in your past." He then drops the fake cheery tone. "Hanging on to thus memories can bring pain and...," he cut himself off, realising what he was delving into. "Just... try not to.," he concluded with a ever-so-slight sigh.

"Hello Sybil." A voice said from the brush.

Sybil didn't expect someone behind her at all, and in the shock, she dropped the herbs and jumped high, almost like a cat catching a bird midair. She turned midjump to face the thylacine. "Oohaah.... Stripes!? Don't do that! Sheesh, why is everybody giving me a shock? First, I almost got eaten by Draco, then Kallik appears after being missing for so long, the elephants miraculous appearance at the exact same moment that I need them and now..." Sybil stopped. She realized she was being cranky, and calmed down.

"Oh, I am so sorry Stripes. So many things have been happening today. I don't think I can take much more." she confessed, although with shame. She knew before founding the Haven that it would give her a lot of work, but she never expected to had her stressed the way she was now...

"Just hang in there aerigil, you will be fine" chica said, running alongside the elephants. "i promise you"

"Thanks." Sybil said to Stripes. "Would you like to accompany me? I am going to that cold mountain and try to cure margay AJ from his illness. I have never been there, and the more to go, the better. No one knows if it's dangerous." she explained, waiting for an answer....

The elephants move with Chica as fast as they can. Time is of the essence, so they must hurry. The brothers are determined to get me there, no matter what. If anything gets in their way they will shove it aside.

I continue to shake as I lay asleep against Rose. Cold sweat drips from my form and my temperature continues to rise. I cling onto Rose and tears stream down my face.

With all that settled, Sybil headed to Chica's den, although she imagined that they would have covered a lot of ground by now. Luckily, the elephants left a very noticeable trace along the way. "Come on Stripes. This way. We better hurry up and catchup with them before these herbs also dry up." she explained, accelerating her steps...

I weakly nod and snuggle in her warmth. My tears splash onto her coat, while my tail wraps around my body. I'm afraid, very afraid of what is happening.

The elephants are close behind Chica with Royal carrying Speckles in his feathers and Skaliscin as well as Kona on Anvor's back.

Chica tried to look above the trees, to see a large mountain farther ahead. She has seen the mountains from the forest before, but never really wondered what was up there. "we're getting closer," she answered

As Sybil was struggling through that steep hill, she could feel some rumbling in the distance. The elephants no doubt. They walked slow, but they surely went large steps. Panting along the way, and with no voice to call them, she continued along, hoping to reach them just in time before those delicate herbs became useless...

"No doubt about it." Sybil said. "We better run if we want to catch them," she explained, moving much faster until she could see them in the distance...

"ANVOR! BJORN!" Sybil called with the little voice she had...

The elephant brothers stop as they hear Sybil. Anvor picks her and Stripes putting them on his back. Then they continue on their way up the mountain.

"great to see you here Sybil," Chica said, slightly panting from all that running, "maybe you can give the herbs to aerigil now"

Kona watched the animals depart up the mountain. Maybe she could come, too... No. Kona didn't want to come uninvited, that could be considered rude. She shook her head.

"Here Anvor. Give this to AJ." the civet said to the wolf's response. All of the sudden, her mind went to little Kallik. She left the little mouse in the swamp, and that made her worry a little...

Using Anvor's trunk, Sybil did as she was told, and give the herbs to little Roe. "Better hurry, I think they are losing their healing properties." she explained, knowing how extremely vulnerable those plants were...

I munch on the herbs and swallow them. My body continues to shiver and shake as the fever continue to rage within me, but at least the pain from my wound is less. Cold sweat continues to flow down my body and my temperature continues to rise. I gaze at Sybil and then Rose before gently rubbing my head against hers.

"Thank you," I say weakly before laying down against Rose again.

I do not reply as I am fast asleep against her. Though my body continue to shiver with cold sweat running down it and my body temperature continues to rise.

Kallik yawned. She should find something to eat, then have a little nap....

Speckles's head peeked over at Rose, highly concerned about the ill A.J., and looked up at Skaliscin, who laid limp on the elephant's back. He never saw her like this-- never this worried.

Voracivenom was no fool; he sensed great sadness in Sayan's voice. However, that would have to wait-- why did he hear yelling in the distance? "Do you hear that?" he asked silently, his head pointed in the direction of the hollering.

Draco looked at kallik. "so, you are one of the earlier residents?" he asked, in his raspy growling, tone. Other words, his normal tone. Some of the residents he never met before, esspecially the earlier ones. Fom what he heard, kallik was one of the first of the animals in the haven

The snow was visible from where Sybil and the others were standing. The cold temperatures were enough to get every paw shaken. It was a place she never visited, and neither did her bird friends. "Oh wait, Keas, can stand cold temperatures. Oh shoot! I should have ask them to investigate the place before arriving here." the civet complained, immediately getting off Anvor's back and in front of everyone, making sure that the place was safe...

Sayan turned his attention towards the hollering and became alert again. In response to Voracivenom, he nodded his head.

Kallik turned to Draco. "Yes. I'm pretty sure I was the second or third one."

"well I haven't met any of the first few residents, except for about three of them, so nice meeting you" Draco finished, and crawled smoothly not the waters, his way of saying goodbye.

"and if they were able to find a home on this mountain, we probably wouldn't have had that fiasco" Chica pointed out, not like she was blaming anyone, but she was pointing out the events of the tree and yodel. "get aerigil on the snow," the wolf said. Her paws were numb already from the cold stones. this has to be cold enough

Bjorn removes Rose and I from his back and places us on the ground. Rose notices a change as Bjorn picks us up, I am no longer conscious. However my temperature continues to rise and my body continues to shake.

Royal lands on Bjorn's back and speaks quickly and with urgency.

"Alright now you must completely submerge him in the snow for until he is so cold that he shivers and his teeth chatter from the cold."

I am submerged in the snow for a very, very long time before I start to shiver from the cold. To Rose as well as everyone else's delight I begin to stir and open my eyes. I gaze up at Rose shivering violently from the cold. I am soaked to the bone by the freezing snow.

"It's so cold. I'm freezing," I say to Rose.

Royal shakes his head.

"We must get him somewhere warm before we start warming him up or he could freeze to death."

Bjorn takes the initiative and picks up Rose, Stripes and me before placing us gently on his back. Then he picks up Chica and lays her on on his back.

While everyone was helping AJ, Sybil was around the terrain, making sure there was nothing dangerous. She was startled by some moving brushes, but it turns out they were snow bunnies. Now that was some breaking news. She never expected any type of rabbit on the Island. Their natural predators were lynxes, which she imagined they were around, and they weren't the dangerous type. Thinking that the coast was clear, she returned to the others, shaking violently from the cold....

Anvor braves the cold as he walks over to Sybil and wraps her gently in his trunk, to keep her warm.

"Its going to be alright, Sybil. I've got you. You're safe now. I'll keep you warm, I promise."

"um, thanks for the offer, but no," Chica said as she was placed upon bjorn's back. She hopped down from the elephant's back. She doesn't like accepting help when she knows she could do it herself, she was stubborn that way

Speckles was quite warm in Royal's feathers, but this lead him to the realization that Skaliscin wasn't sulking; it was so cold out, she could hardly move. She was cold-blooded, meaning that the cold made her sluggish. "Skali, are you OK?" he asked, concerned. No reply.

Voracivenom looked back at Sayan, then at the bushes. Excusing himself, he slid through the bushes, no doubt towards where the commotion was.

Sybil felt helpless in that position, but after watching Chica's stubbornness, she considered rude not accepting help. They meant well, and she didn't want to hurt the elephant's feeling.
