Alannah listened for the rippling of a creek and followed it, finding a girl who looked almost exactly like Jayce, washing clothes by the creekside.

Nightmare still sits there, his pulse slowing down each second

Alannah walked to the girl, who jumped in surprise.

"Are you Lainey?" Alannah asks.

The girl nods, blinking her wide amber eyes and sweeping her long gold hair with charcoal ends over her shoulder.
"Yes. Are you a friend of Jayce's?"

Alannah looks to the ground sadly.
"You could say that. We had a bond. I was her half."

Lainey gasps.
"Alannah?! Where's Jayce?!"

"Dead." Alannah whispers sadly.

He wakes up and shrieks, suddenly laying motionless a second later, almost dead.

Alannah hears the shriek.
"Nightmare!" She says, taking off.

Lainey runs after Alannah.

The two reach Nightmare and Lainey kneels beside him, placing a small hand on his chest, her wide amber eyes making her look like innocent Jayce, her older sister. She says a small healing chant.

He doesn't make a movement. Nightmare still lays there.

Lainey sits down and lays Nightmare's head on her lap.
"He's close to death." She says sadly. "Jayce would want him to live. I can feel her presence."

Alannah blinked. She could feel Jayce's presence as well, as if her spirit lingered.

(We could have Jayce's spirit tell Nightmare to keep living for the both of them, and, well, Lainey looks so much like Jayce, he might think its Jayce.)

Jayce's presence was there. Her spirit was beside Nightmare. She was contacting him in the spirit world.
"Nightmare, wake up, please. You need to keep living." She says, shaking him.

"I...I cant...." he mumbled back to her as his spirit started crying

Jayce pulled him to her and she kissed him on the cheek.
"You have to live. For the both of us."

He shook his head and blushed.

"You don't understand...Yoru is killing me off with my regret and hatred...the only way to mske him stop is to bring you back, too..." He claimed, suddenly holding his chest in pain.

"I can't come back. I've died twice. It's impossible. My sister can help you. You remember Lainey, right? That day in the rain when I gave you my jacket, Lainey was behind me." Jayce says.

"If you don't come back, Nightmare will kill me anyways! What's the point of living?" He asked, about to cry

"Nightmare, calm down. You're a great guy. You're so kind and friendly. You need to live on." Jayce says, hugging him close.

"Like I said before...I can, but he rejects me on purpose. If there was a way to calm him down or kill him, I would " Nightmare claimed

"I'd have Alannah speak to him, but she's mad at him for some reason." Jayce says.

"Of course! Great..." Nightmare growled, getting dizzier every second he stayed as a spirit.

Jayce sighs softly.
"Please Nightmare. Stay with Lainey. She'll help you. She can. She's determined to help you find a way to escape."

He nodded
"Will you be with me...?" He asked as he started to try to wake up.

"I'll always watch over you, Nightmare. I love you." Jayce says.

Lainey gasps as Nightmare begins to awaken.
"He's waking up!" She says.

Ry...I mean Nightmare ((stupid characters I have to memorize)) opened his eyes, but they were duller than usual. He sighed and tried to move, paralyzed by weakness.

Lainey lifted Nightmare.
"Are you okay?" She asks. She looks so much like Jayce that it was easy to believe that it was her.

"Lainey ...why are you here?" Nightmare asked with curiosity.

Lainey's eyes flickered from amber to Alannah's silver ones.
"I-I'm Alannah's new host." She stutters.

Nightmare started breathing heavily and he felt himself get slashed by something as he screamed in pain.

"Nightmare! What is it?!" Lainey cried.

"Yoru...is trying to kill me..." he said as his eyes started to change as so as his hair color.

Lainey watched Nightmare change.

Yoru took over and chuckled, still not able to get up because he was weak as well.

Lainey gave way to Alannah, her silver eyes cold.
"Stop this Yoru. That's more than crossing the line."

"And why should I stop? How am I...crossing the line?" He asked in a dark, evil voice.

"You know how you are. You're killing your host. Unacceptable. Jayce love him." Alannah snarled.

Yoru laughed.
"If he is dead, they can both be together again!" He said as he shook his head and stared at Allanah.

"I love you Allanah..." he said as he chuckled again and tried to get his energy back.

((Looks like Yoru has a few screws loose...))

"No! Jayce wants him to live on! Lainey is to take care of him! You can't kill him!" Alannah barks.

"You're not to control my actions. And I want him DEAD!" Yoru growled back as he felt numbness in his arms.

Jayce's spirit appeared faintly beside Alannah.
"Please Yoru, stop. I want Nightmare to live. Can't you find a new host?"

He suddenly snapped back to how he was before. He saw the spirit and squinted.
"Jayce..." he asked "are...you dead?" He said

"You killed me. Because I asked." Jayce said shamefully.

Alannah looked away.

He looked at the blood that was dried on his hands.
"Why...did you...ask?" He questioned her

Alannah interrupted, her eyes squeezed painfully closed.
"Because there are times when we subconsciously reject each other. This time was most painful, and Jayce was glazed with the pain. She wanted it to end."

Jayce nods.

Yoru blinked as he started to let Nightmare take over, who fell to his knees.

Alannah gives in to Lainey.

Jayce smiles as she stands beside her sister.

((How I just noticed that if you combine Allanah and Lainey's names together, you get my name ))

Nightmare looks at Lainey, his chest still tight.

Lainey kneels beside Nightmare and smiles kindly at him, resting her small hand on his shoulder. She tips his head up so he can see Jayce's spirit.

He tears up and slowly rises from his position, reaching in his pocket.
