The cheaper it is and the cheaper "looking" it is, the more a poor job is seen as the standard so everyone goes in holding two rocks as if the store employees are out to make the worst job possible. It's really stupid and it takes a few minutes of self reflection to notice that, but people like to be a) on autopilot, b ) entitled, c ) both.

This also happens in art commissions a lot. Charge 100 bucks and you're treated as a guest of honor, charge 5 and you're just doing a silly sketch it can't be that hard, oh and give me 50 revisions of things I didn't explain at first since you're obviously going to do it wrong

when i grew up, spyro wasn't purple. he was orange.

sounds crazy right? listen. we had one of those really old tvs where you could turn the dial and change the colors on the tv. it wasn't color corrected, so spyro was orangish brown with green wings. the grass was blue. it looked very high fantasy this way, and it's strangely nostalgic thinking about it.

eventually a friend came over and was like "why is he purple on the box but brown on the screen?" i was like uh idk and my friend started messing with the dials and suddenly the colors were fixed!

i did an edit of what reignited would've looked like on this old tv if it hadn't been fixed.

tru dat i can not stand how entitled people are. with art i always think its funny when people ask for art for free and get angry when you turn them down. i don't know why people think we always have to accommodate them like they're kings and queens. i can handle rude customers but sometimes it's so ridiculous i don't know how they get anywhere in life throwing a hissy fit over things like the number of pickles on your burger. the other day i had a customer order normally and then suddenly blow up and drag his daughter out of the store by the arm because i told him our cheeseburgers are $1.79. Bruh. god bless anyone who has to deal with these people.

God bless indeed, retail is hell. At least with art you can put a hidden 'troublesome client' fee but usually you have to charge more just to get people to respect you. Even worse is rich people acting like this - you throw away money with food and cars but a 2d luxury is just an act of mercy from you to even ask the artist in the first place? Eurgh.

Yep, been around since 1984. I only know about him from watching Turtles and have been meaning to read the newer comics, but I really think it’d translate well into an animated series. Same with Sly Cooper, which is just kinda floating around in the industry now, no word on where that pitch is going.

Lilo and Stitch and Sonic the Hedgehog are the same movie. Kinda. Sorta. Quirky and cute blue alien on the run from less than conventional authorities finds, after a number of wacky hijinks, friendship in a pair of humans and isn’t lonely anymore. Marketable Alien Finds Family is the best trope.
