OoC: Ooooh, okay! And about the elemental realms, are these worlds inhabited, or abandoned? If inhabited, by who?

I flew behind Rune, taking notes of the landscape. The mist fizzled out, but the sky remained purple in color. Where the mist faded I saw villages and castles, as well as creatures of all different species talking and trading. Despite it having a darker tone (because of its location in the Realm of Darkness), it seemed like any friendly village.

"Wow!" Rune gasped. "The mist usually never parts like this. Chosen One, there is no other explanation as to why this happened other than it sensed your arrival!"

Warmth tingled through my body at the thought of being this important. "I have a lot to live up to, huh?" I asked rhetorically. The phoenix continued moving forward and nodded. I turned my attention to the ground once more. The grass was a dark green, but looked quite pretty in some way. There were the occasional flowers and bushes, and I was sure they all grew with thorns. The lakes were lavender in color, reflecting the sky, but also clear. The village houses seemed to be crafted out of smoothened clay of different tones. I tried to count the different inhabitants- most seemed to be humanoid beings, some with other features such as horns, tails or even dragon wings!- but there were too many.

Rune and I continued our flight, passing over area after area. The grass thinned out and became blueish-white snow, powdering the hills. The wind was against us, but since Rune did not stop I refused to be the first to acknowledge my weakness. I glanced behind me and asked, "Where are we going? Why did we leave the village behind?"

The phoenix grinned. "I'm taking you to our castle, as well as the Temple of the Chosen One! Remember how I said there were other elements? The temple can transport us to the central land, where beings of all elements meet up with each other. The castle is where we important Dark Masters and Generals stay. It will be your residence, unless you object."

"I don't," I assured him, now curious to see the castle. Gliding over one particularly tall hill, the castle came into place. It was a dark black, with a murky moat around it. Other than that, it looked like a fairly traditional castle, never mind the waterfalls coming out the side! The roof was flat and open, with a swirling portal on top. "That's where we go when we meet the other elementals," Rune pointed to me. "But right now, I'll show you the castle!" We swooped down to the drawbridge, where the phoenix tapped a pattern against it with his beak. "Young Master Rune? It is! We shall open the drawbridge right away!" At that, we flew back, and the bridge lowered. Warm air shot out from inside and I sighed, the air a contrast against the snowy winds we'd endured. Rune made his way in, talons clicking along the floor, and I followed, gazing at everything in wonder.

"What in the heavens...?" Solar asked himself as he looked around, the place seemed like some sort of sky realm. "Am i...Dead?" He then asked.

"Greetings chosen one, and do not worry, you are not dead, stop acting so silly!"

The phoenix took me through the different rooms of the castle, and I was lost in his voice and my surroundings. The tapestries, the inhabitants, everything boggled my mind, as the styles were much different from both Skyworld and Earth. Eventually, we came to a giant, empty ballroom. "Check this out, Chosen One!" Rune squawked, and took me to a large tapestry. It was split into six sections, each one with its own symbol and silhouette. I noticed the silhouette for Darkness was an angel. Did this tapestry foretell my arrival?

It turned out, the visuals themselves weren't what Rune had wanted to show me. He instead nudged it to the side, revealing a long, dark passageway. "Ahhh," I murmured in recognition, and stepped in.

The walls had an earthen feel to them as I traced my way, touching the wall. There were twists and turns, but I somehow knew which way to go. I saw light as a tiny speck, and hurried up to reach it. There was a light curtain, and I pushed it away to find myself in a modest temple, with a fountain to the side and an alter in the center. "This is the Temple of the Chosen One, correct?"

"Indeed it is!" Rune flicked his head as he stepped out. "That was the secret way to the temple. I'm not surprised you knew!" The phoenix laid down and looked up at me. "That way is only accessible to high-ranking Darkness users. The villagers who pay their respects come in through the front." He pointed the front of the temple out, which was where the light was coming from. "But you want to see something truly fascinating? Watch this!" He quickly got up and padded to the wall facing the west. There were moon-shaped indentations all over the walls, but a few were glowing faint lavender. Rune breathed dark fire into the slightly glowing ones. I felt a slight rumble, and stairs formed, leading to a secret upper part of the temple. Interested, I followed Rune up the stairs to find they led into a door. Opening the door, we made our way in and as soon as the door was closed, the stairs rumbled back into place. In front of me was the portal on top of the castle.

"But…what? How?" I looked around, and indeed we were on top of the castle Whipping behind me, the door was nowhere to be seen. Rune's eyes were bright; he enjoyed seeing my reaction. "Darkness elemental magic," he said. "The darkness also prevents others from getting in through the top. This is the only way to the portal, despite appearing accessible from the air." He ruffled his feathers. "Now that you know how all that works, why don't we head downstairs and start your training?" I nodded dumbly, and took off to the sky, dropping down near the castle entrance and heading in once more.

"I am not silly! J-Just a little lost..." Solar replied, sitting up. Soon, a angelic griffon came into view.
"Ohh! The chosen one is a dragon?!" She replied happily.
"N-No, not exactally." Solar replied and shifted back to his human form.
"Oh, a dragon shifter then! Wonderful!" She then told him, and making a loop in the air as she flew. "Most wonderful!"
"Eh? What in the heavens are you talking about?" Solar asked, confused.

The training room was deathly quiet, and the walls were black; no windows were around to let light in. I felt right at home as soon as the door shut. Rune's green eyes peered at me in the blackness.

"First you will learn how to focus your powers. As you are the Chosen One of Darkness, your power stems from the dark element. I assume that you've only fought with artificial weaponry, correct?"

I fidgeted a little; 'artificial weaponry', as he called it, was indeed my strong point. That is, my bow. "Yes."

Rune blinked. "Then focusing your powers is a necessity. Close your eyes. Take deep breaths. Visualize nothing but the night sky; you see only stars." Instead of closing them, I narrowed my eyes. "If we're in a completely dark room, why exactly do I need to close my eyes?"

"Clever, aren't you?" Rune sneered. "I can tell you are not focused. Your heart is racing, and I smell your adrenaline. Close your eyes now."

A little taken aback by his tone, I did as he instructed, and a starry night entered my vision. The sight of the stars, at least in my vision, did end up soothing me. The phoenix made a sound of approval. "Now imagine your attack. It's true: you have power you know about, and powers you don't. These training sessions will help you learn things about yourself you never knew."

Okay, so the Cursed Palm has granted me darkness power now that it's adhered to my arm. I can fire dark blasts, and my punches have darkness affiliation. I wonder if there is anything else I can do? I opened my eyes and leapt into the air. Rune shifted his position, and my Palm arm ended up hitting the ground. Where it collided, a patch of ice was left behind. I whipped around and launched a blast at the phoenix, which hit a wall. A splattering sound was heard, and Rune glanced behind him, his eyes wide.

"Impressive! You have ice powers up close, and poison from a distance," he squawked. "See what happens when you focus?" he added cheekily. Then he was forced to dodge another blast of poison. "Alright, alright." Rune glowed purple, and the crescent spines along his back flashed. He "phoenix dashed" into me and I took the hit- I didn't think he'd directly attack me!

Rune pinned me down and I struggled. "Oh come on! You've gotta try harder than that!" Growling, I felt darkness consume me and then his grip lessened. What just happened?

"Chosen One! Come out now!" Rune's voice sounded somewhat panicked. But the darkness was around me and wouldn't let go. More correctly, I wouldn't let go of IT.

"Chosen One. This is an order! You don't know how to control shadow movement yet!" Shadow movement? I let go of the darkness and, as if I'd been compressed like a spring the entire time, leapt onto Rune. We tumbled a few feet and he sighed in relief. "Hold on. Chosen One, that's enough for today," Rune dismissed me.

"What?" I wondered. "But we were just starting!"

Rune glowed purple so we could see each other better. In this light, he looked a little…older. "What you did is an advanced technique called Shadow Movement. It allows you to melt into someone else's shadow, and is somewhat of a defensive technique. But if you remain in the shadow too long, you get consumed by it. Understand? It's dangerous for rookies if they don't know what they're doing."

I nodded in understanding. "Yes, Master Rune. It won't happen again."

The phoenix closed his eyes, and when they opened he was back to his old self. "Just making sure," he chuckled. "Now go to your room for now. I'll get you up in a bit."

The two of us, Master and Chosen One, parted ways for now. I had to give this more thought.

OoC: Now that I'm looking at it, jeez, I write a lot...
@Prex Just physical training, mental training, and element training? Depending how strong your character was before, he might only really need elemental training. That's what I was going, since Shadmé was trained physically on Earth and trained with weaponry in Skyworld.

The next time we met, we continued to train. Secretly, I analyzed Rune's attacks so I could expect what was coming. He tended to use his dark-fire breath from afar, as well as coating himself in darkness and charging. He swiped with his talons up close. As we trained, I felt the shadows call me. I really wanted to try that shadow-movement thing, but couldn't find a right time. Besides, I didn't want to anger Rune; he was the only creature I knew here!

One day, he brought me to the training room again. I immediately searched the battlefield for the phoenix, but noticed something else instead. There were obstacles thrown here and there in the darkness. If I hadn't been training in the dark so much before, I'd never have been able to see the obstacles now.

"Come and find me!" Rune called, and I grinned eagerly. I leapt onto a chair and into the air, looking around. Eventually I saw him under a large table and swooped in, bow drawn. He slid away and shot fire, while I entered a loop to avoid it. He entered the air and slashed with his wings, which were easy to dodge. "Come on, Rune. You can do better than that!" I said, trying to taunt him.

The phoenix's eyes brightened. "Ready for the next level, then?" His wingtips glowed purple, and he swiped at me. I took the hit to gauge the damage, and it stung! He had formed darkness around the edges, and suddenly he had hundreds of little knives at his disposal. I knew that there was now way he should be staying airborne with his feathers like that, so I punched him with my Palm arm and he was knocked to the ground.

Shooting fire at me as I came down, I swerved narrowly to avoid it and crashed into an obstacle. We both looked at each other, battered, bruised and on the ground, and laughed.

OoC: You were saying something about a central world where all the elementals meet up? What's it called, and where is everyone? I feel bad for holding up the RP...

"Hello, Chosen One" the young man said to Nasayè. "I am a General, and my name is Entago. What is yours, Chosen One?" Entago asked. Nasayè only stared at Entago, a blank look upon her face. "Uh… You know, I'll just look it up later on" Entago said with an awkward laugh. "What is more important is that we get you started on some training. How good are you with swords?" Entago asked, tossing a sword towards Nasayè. Nasayè caught the sword and grasped it tightly. She continued to blankly stare at Entago, waiting for instruction. "Well, just come at me. I'll block your swipes." Entago said with a nod. Nasayè rushed at Entago, moving quite fast. She quickly slashed down, only letting air hit Entago. "Oooookay, you can use a sword! Noted. By that knowledge you should know how to use a bow?" Entago asked. Nasayè nodded slowly.

"Moving on then!" Entago said happily.

"So... what now?" I ask to Sorisha, who just was swimming around.
"Things come on thier time... be patient..." She answered.

"Okay, what you do, is when you reach Erydian, say something about going to Earth for your trial. Then you'll do the rest of it, filling in the blanks with this info:

The locations of the stones:

Air: Somewhere in the sky above Oklahoma
Earth: Grand Canyon
Water: Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean
Fire: The volcano of Pompeii
Light: The desert in Egypt
Darkness: The South Pole

There are five floors in the building. Trial one is beating things down, trial two is answering a riddle, trial 3 is going through a little test, trial four is an inspection and trial 5 is beating someone down without the help of your element."

So by "five floors in the building", is the building Erydian? And do we do the trials first and then go find the stone or the other way around?

Rune took me to the outside to train today. It was a harsh storm, and instead of being surrounded in black, the storm whipped white flakes around. This meant Rune could be seen clearly, but then again, so could I.

"Your senses and skills have been tested in the dark," Rune explained, "but I don't intend to deprive you of light forever. You must get used to fighting in all environments." I shivered in the cold. "How are you NOT freezing?"

Rune chuckled. "Training toughens you up! I expected you to be more reliable; after all, you have ice powers!"

I growled at the taunt, already formulating battle strategies. His fire might dissolve into steam when it comes in contact with snow, so he'll be going for the close-range. If I can create some ice walls...what do they always say about sticking your tongue to cold metal? Maybe I can stick him to some ice and put the damage on him!

I dashed sideways, trailing my arm over the ground. I was trying to leave a trail of ice. The phoenix copied my movement, circling me. I flung some dark bullets, and he ducked. "Use an attack I CAN'T see," he suggested. "Like this!" He used the long feather on top of his head like a whip, and smacked my arm. I stumbled back into a snowdrift, cold sneaking into my bones.

Rune stood above me and clucked disapprovingly. "Again."

[[That means I need the riddle now right? The sharks were my first, so now I need a riddle... Lyv told me one, can I use that one. I love it <3 I love that riddle!]]

((@Shadmé the building is the location of the stone if your element. Also, how it works is do a quick final battle with your mentor. Then, they'll take you to Erydian, and then from there, you'll enter a capsule, and be sent to your location. For you, the South Pole.

Sorisha looks up at me suddenly.
"Something wrong?" I ask her. I swim towords her.
" What runs and has no feet, roars but has no mouth?"
I look up, my eyes sparkling, then everything fades away. "Is this a riddle? I'm BAD at riddles! Why are you asking me!?"
"Just answer!" Sorisha's voice sounds commanding.
"Umm... is there a time limit?"
Sorisha grabs a fish and slaps me with it, then lets the fish swim away. "Just answer!" She says.
"Urrr....." I try to think... "Hint?"
"NO!"
"Ok ok geezus swimmers wish.... hmmm..... How many times can I guess?"
"Once..."
"What runs? Lot of things run... but notthing can't run without feet.... you need to roar to- wait... don't river's roar like that? And River's run... sort of...."
Sorisha looks up to me. "You have an answer?"
I'm gonna do a wild try... "Are you telling a riddle about River's?" I ask, with a silent voice.
Sorisha says notthing.
"So it is?"
She nods.
"YAY! I'm still bad at riddles though...."

Today was a break day. I was wandering around the castle, just trying to learn every nook and cranny. I soon found myself in front of the tapestry of the elements. I had never gotten to study it in detail before, so I did so now.

My eyes immediately went to the dark section. It was a navy bluish in the background, and what looked like dead trees and boulders were also there. You could also see the slightest wisps of snow. The silhouette in front was of an angel, and completely in black. The angel was standing tall, and facing the center, holding a bow. Shadmé, I heard a voice inside of my head. Chosen One of Darkness in Umbaya.

I then looked at the next section, above it. It was shimmering yellow and white, with a seemingly glittery effect. It was too bright for my tastes, and I narrowed my eyes as I looked at the silhouette in front. It appeared to be human, but...a little off. Like it was part-creature. A cape whipped, frozen, at his side. Solar. Chosen One of Light in Halos.

To the left of Light was what could only be Fire. It was an ashy red section, a volcano in the very background. The silhouette was definitely human. In confusion I looked at the Light Chosen One's picture. Why wasn't Solar human? Glancing back to Fire, I heard Alexander Ramirez. Chosen One of Fire in Fyrila.

Below fire was Earth. It was rocky and dust-brown, with shimmering crystals visible on the edges of the section. When I leaned closer, I noticed that the ground was many shades of brown. Nice detailing! The silhouette was another human. Myra Payne. Chosen One of Earth in Ectera.

Across from Earth was Air. It was a teal and sea-green, the style done so it looked like actual wind. Spots of dark gray, storm clouds, were in the background. A taller human stood in front. Jason. Chosen One of Air in Arlia.

Finally, above Air was Water. It seemed to be a pond, ripples woven in with darker strands. A bright lily pad was shown, and for some reason the sky was tinged red. The silhouette, like the Chosen One of Light's, was human but didn't feel human. I wondered if they were part-other creature. I'd have someone to affiliate with, then, as all the other Chosen Ones were humans. I focused on the Water section again. Alvira, Chosen One of Water in Oceania.

I stepped back and glanced at the tapestry again. It was a fine piece of work. I noted to myself that I was gonna have to ask Rune where it came from. Turning to leave, I glanced one more time at the silhouettes.

Solar, Alex, Myra, Jason and Alvira. I look forward to meeting you all someday. I departed the room.

Jason was flying between all the tornados. "Well," he said. "this isn't weird at all." He looked all around him, when suddenly, one of the tornados started forming into what appeared to be a dragon. "What the-" he didn't get to finish his sentence because the dragon shot a lightning bolt at him. "Woah!" He yelled out dodging, and turning into a gargoyle, and going in for an attack. Bad idea, because the closer he got, the more electrical the dragon got, and he fell to the ground, shocked, literally. "That's it!" He said, forming his sword in his hands, flying up to slay this dragon. His lucky day. It turned into it's tornado form and hit him straight on. "Ow." He said, jumping to his feet and out of the way, just as it slammed into the ground. He jumped up and stabbed it's head. "Congratulations." Aren said, stepping out of thin air. "You were there the entire time, weren't you?" Jason asked. "Yup." Aren said. "Now, time for a riddle."

OoC: So fighting the mentor is the first trial?

It had been a little over a month since I'd begun training. Now almost every time my mentor and I fought, I emerged victorious. Occasionally he'd switch attacks, but I was getting good at anticipating movement in every setting. "Where's this dark lord already? I'll kick his butt!" I gloated. Rune sighed. "I suppose it is time."

"Time for what?" I looked at the phoenix, who straightened up. "It is time for me to take you to Erydian. Do you remember when I told you about the central town, where all elementals meet up? Erydian is the castle. If we're lucky, we might cross the path of the other Chosen Ones."

The other Chosen Ones? I was immediately pumped. "Well we can't wait here!" I declared. "I'm ready. Are YOU ready?"

Rune smiled, but it didn't look like it was true. "Of course, Chosen One! Let me lead the way." We departed outside, and the snow wasn't as bad today, making for a clear takeoff. The dark phoenix rose into the air, with myself after him. We headed north; our kingdom must've been located in the south, just like in the tapestry. Huh.

"So is it a straight distance forward?" I asked. Rune nodded. "Pretty much. You know where Umbaya ends and Erydian begins when you see the purple mist." Gripping my bow impatiently, I gazed over the snowy hills looking for any spot of violet that marked the border.

OoC: Typing on phone...accidentally pushed send prematurely... O.o Also, do the trials take place on Earth, in the tower, or in Erydian?

After a flight that took twenty minutes but felt like an hour, I saw the first purple mists. "Rune! Look!"

Rune chuckled. "Indeed! If you aren't too tired, let's push on." I was not in the least bit tired, but more excited. The mist grew larger and puffier, like a cloud, and we pushed our way through and landed on a stone path. The path led to a beautiful castle of many colors, which could only be Erydian!

I looked around in wonder, at all the different types of people. Now I'd seen nothing but darkness users for about a month, and the colors were overwhelming. "Do you think any of the Chosen Ones are here?" I gasped in wonder. Rune peered over my head, searching the crowds. "I wouldn't be able to tell from this distance," he admitted. The phoenix led me over to a fountain and stopped, turning to face me.

"Now listen. I know you're excited, but keep your wits about you! We are of the element of Darkness, and are not authorized to share information. We are known for our closed-off personalities." I tried to imagine Rune as "closed-off," but couldn't. He was just so friendly!

"But…" I stammered, "Aren't we supposed to work with the other Chosen Ones? What good is being silent?"

Rune shook his head. "Just don't say too much." He looked up to the sky, as if in thought, and I asked another question. "We're supposed to go to Earth, right? How do we get there from here?"

OoC: I have no idea. How DO we get to Earth? e.e

((Whelp, I guess I should explain this better.

Erydian is the castle between all the realms, almost like an empty void between all the realms, and where only the beys of the best are allowed. The caste itself is for The Chosen Ones, and their mentors. In the castle there is the main room, where the Chosen ones meet! and then there are six rooms. Each of the six elements. The Chosen One of element goes into those rooms, and from there are sent to Earth, in the general location of the stone of that element. You then do the five trials. As for the third one, I may just get read of it because it doesn't really make sense.

X3 As for the third trial… why not have it do with mental training?

Rune bobbed his head. "We get to Earth from Erydian. There will be a darkness door which will take you to your destination, and there you will undergo a few trials to prove yourself." As he talked, we headed towards the beautiful castle and entered.

The main room was big with six doors, three on each side. I noticed each doorway had a symbol for the element it contained; the symbols were identical to the ones I saw on the tapestry. The farthest door on the left had the symbol for darkness, so I walked up to it.

"Don't let me down," Rune growled, a teasing light in his eye. I bumped his shoulder playfully, then opened the door. The last thing I saw before I closed it were his liquid green eyes.

As soon as the door was shut, everything went dark. Because of my training, my eyes focused immediately. There were starts above me, and a forest in front. Behind me was…nothing. What's with this place and its love for disappearing doors? I wondered. Shrugging, I moved into the forest.

The moment my foot stepped in, I heard a deep, booming laugh. Something punched me on my left, and I tumbled down, playing dead so I could find the source. But it was as if I had fallen myself. …not quite.

My own shadow gained form and swelled beside me. "A shadow fight?" I asked. "Interesting." It punched again, but I rolled to the side and pulled out my bow, firing an arrow. It pierced the shadow's center and it flinched. I sprang towards it and slashed, remembering something Rune had told me during one of our sessions: a single hesitation could mean the end of the game. No matter what, do not flinch. Do not show pain.

The shadow melted into the ground and reappeared behind me, grabbing my shoulders and trying to drag me down. I kicked it without looking, then whipped around and gave it an icy punch. I somewhat missed, though, as Rune's voice flashed through my head again: Today, we are going to fight with our ears blocked. Hearing is a good thing to rely on in battle, yes, but there might be a time where you'll be deprived of sound. You will learn to fight missing one sense these next few days, to learn how much you rely on things you take for granted. Then, you will be able to truly battle.

Cursing myself- that miss would not please him training at home- I lashed out with my foot again, catching the shadow and flinging it to the ground. I punched downward, sending an icy shockwave at it. The ice froze one of its feet to the ground, which let me deal what I hoped to be the finishing blow with my bow blades.

The slash cut it in half, and the shadow disappeared. Smirking in victory, I did not expect to get hit in the head behind me. I whipped around to find my shadow sitting in a tree, throwing apples. It must've slunk away into the ground and ended up in the tree. How would I defeat an opponent who could reform and pretty much teleport?
