"I will tell you why then, you insolent fools," the deep voice said. "I've been watching the new students arrive at this school. I spotted an angel, and you know how much I despise angels. I want you to get rid of this one..." A blurry image appeared over the red eyes. It was an image of Layla, eating in the school cafeteria.
"Do not strike yet," the deep voice continued. "Just watch her moves and such. See what she does. I cannot tell you why I want her destroyed. Come back in a week and tell me what you know about her. Then I may tell you why."

Mitch shrugged. "Could be..." He knew she was being sarcastic, and really, he felt the same way. He'd much rather be writing. But still, they had to do it. And spying could be fun. It seemed to be in movies and stuff, anyway. Maybe he'd get ideas for his stories, if nothing else. "Guess we should head to the cafeteria." He turned to leave.

Mitch followed Elvira toward the cafeteria. He wasn't really looking forward to going in. He wasn't a huge fan of large crowds of people. Still, he hadn't gotten the chance to eat, and he was beginning to feel hungry. Maybe they could eat while they spied. They needed to blend in anyway, right? He'd bring it up once they got inside.

Mitch came to a stop beside Elvira. He, too, scanned the large room. Their were people everywhere. But it should be easy to spot an angel, right? He soon spotted her sitting with someone else - a boy. They both seemed younger. "There." He said, pointing. "Shall we get something to eat and find a table near them so we can hear what they're saying?"

Mitch shrugged. "Fine with me. I never liked classes, anyway." He glanced up to her, suddenly wondering something. "Are we gonna stick together the entire time? Perhaps we should take shifts - at least during classes. I can't get caught skipping." He shuddered. "My father would kill me if I were expelled or anything."

"They're going towards the music room. It's not very big, so we can't spy on them in the room..." Elvira paused, and then an idea popped into her head. "Oh, let's use the vents. They're big enough for us to crawl in..." She grabbed Mitch's hand and ran towards one of the janitors closets, where the vents started.

Mitch walked into the janitor's closet, where Elvira had drug him. He pulled his hand away from hers, getting slightly used to it by now. He looked around, seeing if he could find the vents.

"Up there." Elvira pointed at the ceiling, pointing at the vent opening. She grabbed a ladder, climbed up it and pulled away the vent opening. "Come on!" she called, climbing into the vent.

Mitch looked up. He saw the vent, then watched as Elvira set to work getting it open. He quickly followed her up the ladder and into the vent. He really hoped she knew where she was going. He still didn't know his way around the school very well. And he'd never set foot in the music room.
