Hey I don't post here often but I am on my island as often as possible and gift daily.

For some reason I must not be easily found because I've never gotten a friend request, but my son who just has a random gamer # and no gamertag gets requests all the time and has over 50.

Can you just add a disclaimer that some of us might have 100 friends and so we can't add anymore? We aren't ignoring anyone - we are just full.

That being said, people quit playing all the time so there is reliable turnover.

I thought about asking people to PM me if they were full, or posting to be removed, but decided against it due to the administrative overhead.

I doubt I would even notice if a friend request was ignored or not and, I think an invite doesn't count against the 100 anyway.

I've hit 100 again after deleting inactive friends based on last log in. I hate how the turn over seems more appealing now with 50 kudos at stake. I plan to keep updating my friend list as time goes on.

Now that you mention it... What's to stop us from bumping people off and re adding another 100?

Adding a new friends = 50 kudos (I hate that term btw) and takes less than 30 seconds to 1 minute?
Keeping a friend = 3 or 4 kudos a day, so 12-13 days to get to 50, with shots at gems and wishstones?

I'll only clear off people who don't gift for a week or two, but there is nothing but time preventing people from cycling through hundreds of potential friends.

Or they could choose to reward those that actually participated in the socail aspects of the game prior to the 1.6 patch and retroactively give us 50 Kudos per friend on Sunday September 22nd. I'd be happy with a compromise of 10-20 Kudos per friend prior to the update.

Thank for all the invites, but I'm almost at the limit. However, I'm think of leaving 2-4 places for people who want to earn kudos, and don't mind being deleted after a day or two.

If you don't mind being deleted after a day just add in "dont mind being deleted after a day or so" in the message.

Make sure you update to the latest version before accepting any friends invites.

If the friend has previously been a friend, then it doesn't matter what you do or when you update. No kudos for you or them.

I updated before accepting any. I now have 21 friends according to Activate, but only 17 in the game. What's up with the other 4?

I have just updated my game to 1.6.0 and accepted all incoming invitations.
But I now have a discrepancy between the activate list (86) and the in-game list (79).

I did notice it takes some time to appear after you accept an invitation but is has been to long for some users I added.
Users I have in my activate list but not in-game:
- brgmini
- D3Ni4L
- Paul Carroll
- Wong Tung
- MtLebo-Jason
- Mlenney17
- Kylie Northrop

I'm wondering if the situation is the same on their side. So if you're one of the above, let me know if you do see me in-game.
Or if others have the same issues with these users, then it might be tied to them and not just a random thing.

The game update fortunately went smoothly, I do get more connection errors now when visiting islands. They used to occur very seldom and now I'm guessing it's about 10% of the visits that fail.

I really do miss the statistics of gifting and visiting. It really motivated me to visit some islands to see if I could get ahead. I lack the time to visit every island every day so the statistic was my guide to whom to visit. No visit to me equaled no visit back.

Hi bjornolf, sadly I see you only in my activate list but not in-game. Good to hear you can see me though.

I had some invitations of mine accepted and my current numbers are 88 on activate but only 81 in-game.
I even went so far as to manually count both lists and they are added up correctly, there are simply users missing from the in-game list.

Edit: I just realised my numbers don't add up any more. I still have a difference of 7 but bjornolf is a new one missing in-game which makes 8....hmmm
I just don't feel like going to the list again to see who has suddenly appeared, I definitely did not get a 'new friend' alert in my list as I would have expected as the missing users are all new to me as far as I know.

Plenty of room for friends.

Deleting you from my Activate and re-inviting you fixed the problem.
Visiting your kingdom also works.

And the good news is I even got the new friend bonus kudos, so apparently the in-game list is leading in that respect and not the Activate list.

On a side note, the difference between both my lists remains 7. Weird isn't it?

Yup. I guess I'll delete and reinvite my missing friends too. So, if you get deleted and reinvited by me, please don't feel offended. I just want my 50 kudos.

Honest Question: Does ANYONE get offended if they get deleted and reinvited? As I mentioned on the previous page, isn't it much more beneficial to just keep cycling friends?

At this point I've got 10 outstanding invites and a 'full' friends list of 91. Why not kick out 10 friends and add these 10 new guys? That's 500 kudos... Does anyone see a problem with that?

I don't think anyone will mind being removed if you can't see them on your in-game friend list. After all, if you can't see them and gift them, you're not doing them any good either! It's a win-win as far as I can see, so if anyone has me on their Activate list but not their in-game list, please feel free to remove me.

That's why I really miss the gifting statistics. I now only have the Activate 'last logged on' info available to make a selection but that only shows me who hasn't played for a long time and probably quit but tells me nothing about gifting.

I also liked the chase game; trying to stay ahead with gifting or trying to catch up to someone.

Counterpoint: I absolutely won't kick people I consider friends. But you're right, without statistics it's hard to tell who's just wasting space and who's actively sending. The worst part, as I see it, is the amount of work I do kicking and accepting 1 person for 50 kudos is equivalent to me browsing to 1 MAYBE 2 friends islands and collecting 3 or 6 kudos.

I've taken to tracking friends on a spreadsheet. If you don't gift daily, you find your way onto my spreadsheet. If I see you're a chronic non-gifter, I'm going to remove you. I get about 80% gifts every day. If someone falls much below that line, I have a ton of invites in my queue...

I did like the chase game with gifts too. The other thing was it was easy to tell how long someone had been a friend by how many gifts I sent them or received from them. That's harder to do now too.
