Queen GLaDOS Invictus, the Goddess of Science and Progress

GLaDOS Invictus, the Queen of Equestria and the Goddess of Science and Progress, the second child and god born to Cave and Caroline, the sequential sister to the vengeful Announcer.

Le Notre-Dame de la Scienza. The Queen. Goddess. Mistress. Monster. Traitor. Teacher. Mother. All titles that can be used to describe her.

Compared to Princess Celestia, a goddess of a world separate yet intertwined with her own, Queen GLaDOS would have more magical potential, but with less innate knowledge of the magic itself. Science is her life, her past, present and future, and if Magic must suffer, so be it.

Enigmatic, beautiful, and rather unpredictable, GLaDOS is an incredibly rare sight even for nobility and foreign dignitaries. A spiteful mare, it is said that GLaDOS rejected her original name as revenge against the mother who had abandoned her, and used her considerable power to wipe the memories of that name from the world. The queen of a nation, and yet GLaDOS hides behind closed doors, in the depths of her domain to hide her shattered emotions and memories of failure in her work. A pinnacle of strength on which her siblings and subjects lean on, but even the strongest pillars can crumble with enough pressure.

The Mother of Fun, and later Duty, Life, Death, and Fate, the loss of her first daughter one thousand and two hundred years before the present driving her to grief-driven violence and insanity, an event that resulted in a maimed Wheatley, a destroyed Everfree City, and would've become a country-wide slaughter had GLaDOS not been stopped. Cast into the bowels of her own citadel, Juliet had left her within a perpetual slumber of which she could nurse her broken heart, tended to by her sprite entourage.

It was two hundred years later when Nightmare Invictus sealed his own defeat, taking the sleeping GLaDOS' own magic and accidentally awakening her. With only the Elements of Harmony to aid her, and her own magic being used against her, GLaDOS was not strong enough to defeat her insane brother/s alone, compelling her younger sisters to take the place of her magic to keep the Nightmare contained.

For a thousand years, GLaDOS has to live with the 'loss' of five of her siblings, with the pain of her daughter's murder still fresh on her mind, even it had occurred several mortal lifetimes ago, alongside the death of the stallion centuries before even then.

Phillip came seven hundred years later, a sign that GLaDOS was coming out of her depressed stupor. The triplets, Kathryn, Nolan and Sybill, came another century afterwards.

With the mysterious appearance of Twilight, a filly with hidden divinity locked away within her, came one King Sombra. Using Twilight's unwitting aid to almost murder Phillip and take the power that only the fledgling god had the right to, GLaDOS didn't withdraw within herself once again, or attempt to take out her anger on the rest of Equestria, but remained determined to protect Twilight from those who wished the seemingly extremely powerful 'unicorn' harm. Phillip himself didn't awake for almost a month, and had never been the same since.

Queen GLaDOS Invictus is not a mare to be trifled with, a wrathful being hidden beneath a mask of calm serenity.

But that mask has cracked so many times in the last few years, exposing flashes of the miserable mare underneath.

Kathryn Invictus, the Goddess of Life

Kathryn 'Katie' Invictus, the second of GLaDOS' children, the eldest of the triplet godlings, and the fledgling Goddess of Life.

A little under two hundred years old, and just now approaching their teen years, Kathryn and her triplet siblings, fraternal Nolan and identical Sybill, have grown into their roles as comfortably as a trio of rambunctious godlings could.

Precocious and headstrong, this goddess can be downright bloodthirsty at times, quite at odds with her domain. Rather arrogant, with a tendency to ignore those she deemed beneath her (everyone except her family), Kathryn was a common sight within the castle before GLaDOS began her crackdown on her childrens' security, driven to a terrified frenzy after nearly having another child torn away from her. More perceptive than she seems; Kathryn has been known to eavesdrop on her mother and uncles, and brag about her discoveries with her 'younger' siblings.

It is said that Kathryn and her siblings have secondary roles as representing the four seasons, Kathryn herself being Spring, Sybill controlling Summer, Autumn being Nolan, and Winter, Phillip.

Phillip had saved her life around ten years before Nightmare Invictus' return, in the event that had, in turn, almost killed him. Kathryn had felt guilty due to her childish belief that it had been her fault, and especially more so that the incident had indirectly caused her to find her domain. She is aware that Phillip himself shares that sentiment, the latter having become quite the wrathful being in the last decade.

Kathryn's symbol is the red poppy.

The Goddess of Life, and yet her magic seems to specialise in taking said lives, not giving them.

Bonnie Invictus, the Goddess of Fun

Of the royal family's secrets, that of Bonnie is said to be among the best kept. Wiped from the history books by Juliet, she had been forgotten by Equestria for millennia.

Very little is known about the goddess filly who had allegedly died over a thousand years ago, or her relationship/status in regards to the rest of her family. Killed before she realised her potential, it is said that the tragedy of the act was what drove GLaDOS in her attempt to commit a mass genocide in her grief. In legends, it is said that Bonnie's murder was literally the reason why adults don't feel Fun as children do, cursed by the alicorn in her last moments.

Wandering as a shade for the past dozen centuries, unable to move on due to her role, she is spurned into resuming a 'corporeal' state by Memories (Atlas).

At the end of the day, dead is dead, but everything turns out ok in the end.

Grey Calibre, the lone, one eyed mercenary of the Badlands, and the ‘once-mortal’ father of the tWo-hundred year old Kathryn, NolAn and Sybill.

Contrasting with the Queen’s calm, caLculated demeanour, Grey is a grizzled veteran of his trade, upholding himself with a code of polite honour. A decent individual, in spite of his pRofession, with an unusual talent of manipulating lightning to hIs advantage even with the absence of storm clouds.

When his mind is set on a decision, very little can dissuade him from achieving that goal, no matter the personal risk. BetrayeD by a colleague that resulted in the loss of his right eye and the rest of his accomplices, Grey pursued him to an abandoned asylum widely regarded as ‘hEll’.

Most think that he’d died in that asylum, slaughtered by the beings that stalk the miseRable place after he completed his objective.

But there are rumours of a pegasus that still roams the Badlands Asylum to this day, driving away all those that are foolish enough to approach…

A pegasus that is kept alive by the madness that has lingered there for centuries…

Nightmare Invictus, the Puppet 'God' of Protocol

“Despite his appearance, he’s the one suffering the most.

“And I’m not even referring to Wheatley.”

Nightmare Invictus, the corrupt, possessed form of Wheatley by the Announcer, a host that was malleable and could easily be twisted to the fallen god’s will.

The Announcer began his takeover on Wheatley’s mind when the latter ventured into Aperture around one hundred and seventy years after GLaDOS was placed within a perpetual slumber, Wheatley believing she had hidden a weapon within her facility’s depths. While unable to force the Announcer from his mind, Wheatley managed to resist his magic for ten years, before finally falling and becoming a Nightmare; a twisted deity who had turned against his very nature. Perfectly inline with the Announcer’s domain, but at the cost of Wheatley’s, and his failing sanity.

Nightmare Invictus strove for absolute perfection in the idyllic ‘paradise’, a world where chaos doesn’t exist, and everything abides strictly to protocol and order. Unlike Nightmare Moon, the Announcer wasn’t in full control of his host, and Wheatley had brief moments of clarity over the next two decades, but had been broken down enough as to doubt the fine line between reality and a fabrication of his own mind.

Cruel and humourless, Nightmare Invictus can only be called a tyrant. A formidable foe, making use of an artificial horn from one of GLaDOS' abandoned experiments and the Announcer's own magic, he has little regard for any life, neither mortal nor immortal. Unusually enough, he's left his younger siblings alone, only directly going against them when they go for the attack. Despite being directly controlled by the Announcer, Nightmare Invictus' personality shows more sadistic traits than what he should...

His campaign to drain GLaDOS of her magic had been his undoing, the Nightmare inadvertently taking the power behind the enchantment that kept her asleep. With the help of her sisters and Chell, GLaDOS sealed Nightmare Invictus within the moon for a thousand years, and had no choice but to condemn her sisters to keep him contained for that duration. After his shortly-lived freedom, Wheatley and the Announcer were seperated by the Elements of Harmony.

It is said that after his ordeal, Wheatley had been unable to sleep for weeks, had developed an intense phobia of being physically and/or mentally restrained, and of any and all magic to do with the mind.

Unlike Luna with Nightmare Moon, Nightmare Invictus left a physical impression upon Wheatley, and he remained quite gaunt and starved looking for the rest of his extensive life, with a slight darkening of his coat, paler eyes, and dull scales. Mentally, he apparently developed quite an explosive temper, with tendencies to lash out. Of the Announcer himself, a thousand years seperated from his body took a heavy toll on his life, and even with his status as a god he is only kept alive by life support provided from GLaDOS and Aperture.

The Announcer is the big bad, but do his intentions follow the same vein as his actions?

Arlon 'The Announcer' Invictus, the God of Protocol and Order

Arlon Invictus, the fallen God of Protocol and Order, and the eldest sibling of the royal family.

Announcer. Manipulator. Puppetmaster. Principal. Pariah. Nightmare. Tyrant.

Cold and pragmatic, acting in his interests without regard for who he has to hurt, the Announcer isn't truly as antagonistic as he tries to build himself up to be. Always cheerful, in a somewhat ironic matter, keeping a pleasant, almost artificial tone of voice when speaking. Can be quite sarcastic at times, and often purposely irritating in that manner. Not quite as emotionally or mentally stable as he would claim. A little warped, and somewhat backwards.

Despite his twenty year-long window of which he could deal with GLaDOS and the rest of his siblings with ease, he refused to act, and even showed regret for what he had to do to Wheatley in later years. Nightmare Invictus was a monster of his own creation; even being behind the reigns, he still had moments of succumbing to the twisted deity's whims.

As the God of Protocol, he has access to manipulating the very rules of the worlds themselves. The Announcer could very well alter reality to his desires, even without his full power, with the risk of destroying himself utterly in the process. Seeing as he's quite orderly by nature, the Announcer has no intention of becoming a fully fledged Nightmare in his own right, though he doesn't hesitate to 'bend' the rules every now and then.

Imprisoned within the deepest depths of Aperture after he attempted a mass genocide on Equestria in its early years, the Announcer is the reason why the colossal facility is off-limits to all except the Queen herself. Despite the loss of his horn, and by extension most of his magic, the Announcer has access to powerful mind control magic, and is capable of possessing another. GLaDOS, Juliet and Cave are the only individuals apparently immune to his magic.

Surprisingly, with what he would become later in life, the Announcer was incredibly close to GLaDOS, doing everything in his then-limited power to keep her happy and safe. He had always had a poor relationship with his father, and being torn apart by Cave was what drove him to try and return the favour for the rest of the dragon's children, an insatiable drive for revenge. The Announcer had severed his relationship with GLaDOS, simply because she had refused to come with him.

Even in the long years after the loss of his wings, the Announcer's favourite feeling in the world is the simple pleasure of flight, and it is a well-known fact that Nightmare Invictus was more often seen flying than not. Seeing as he hadn't eaten for the better part of two thousand years, his thin, gangly physique isn't surprising, and only worstened during the last thousand years of no longer being present from his own body. Supported by magic as opposed to food, and that magic leaving in the last millennia, GLaDOS took to keeping him alive via life support until he was capable of coming back.

The alternative was allowing a Shade loose upon Equestria, and one that couldn't be held back by walls and magic.

His motif is shattered mirrors. If one looks closely, they could almost see the refracted wings.

It's a testament to his prior closeness to GLaDOS that she managed to reach through to him even after two and a half millennia of budding hatred and anger, when nothing and no one else could.

He still remembers her name, and affectionately refers to her as 'Nio'.

Lady Mi Amore Cadenza - Lady Cadance

Lady Mi Amore Cadenza, the Cadance that belongs to Queen GLaDOS' Equestria. Identified from her alicorn counterpart by her lack of a horn, shorter mane, and orange-based colour scheme.

GLaDOS' student immediately preceeding Twilight, Cadance's magic is unique as in it is spread through her feathers. Descended from the crystal ponies before they vanished a thousand years prior, she holds herself with the kind of honour and love-filled nature befitting of her ancestors.

Orphaned at a young age, and considered to be among the friendliest of the nobles, Cadance is one of the few not concerned with personal power. Loves foalsitting, and often spends time at the Canterlot Orphanage in order to help bring happiness to the fillies and colts that don't have family.

Cadance is a fan of tiaras.

As with canon, Twilight 'Sparkle' is her favourite filly that she sits for, and her brother isn't a bad one either...

He's pretty much literally a cloud of nanobots in the shape of his old body now (as opposed to the 'original' version of him further up the page). The only thing left of his physical body is his right eye. Everything else was replaced by the swarm, rendered obsolete by age.

It's a miserable existence for any sane being.

Good thing he isn't sane anymore.

Princess Celestia, Goddess of the Sun.

[User Posted Image]

Nightmare Scienza, the fallen form of one Queen GLaDOS Invictus, and the final antagonist of a bad end that almost happened. Born of GLaDOS' grief and wrath.

Detatched from reality. No longer cares for the mortals she had once watched over, who had given her nothing back but misery. Aside from Death, Scienza is the last of the kirin gods to roam her world. She is no longer capable of reason.

There's nothing else left for the grieving goddess other to set the world ablaze. After that, she would finally be free to join her siblings, cousins, and children.

All of that, and her expression never changes. Not until she's finished.

Nolan is the last living being left in the wasteland of her creation.

[User Posted Image]

Twilight Luminia Invictus, Goddess of the Stars, now with 20% more sparkles (but not in name).

Even Wheatley would come to admit that the best thing that had been done for his daughter was their seperation, even if it would come to result in his fall from grace and eventual exile.

At least she got the good end of the deal; divinity, a family that loves her, friends that she would do anything for, and they for her.

There would be time enough for them to patch things up. Until then, ignorance is bliss.

The Ideascape - Wheatley's Domain

A plane existing adjacent to reality, and the birthplace of ideas.

Cracked and dull, but the little lightbulbs are beginning to shine again since the broken demigod’s return. Wheatley is the sole caretaker of the Ideascape, tending to each little idea, and repairing the damage wrought by the Announcer/Nightmare Invictus' brief tenure over it.

Twenty years of being locked down and suppressed almost irrevocably destroyed the ability for anyone on Hyperborea to conceive of an idea.

While he eventually fixes every last crack, Wheatley himself remains permanently fractured.

Nolan Invictus, the God of Death.

Death and his servants lead lost souls to the banks of the five rivers of Tartarus. While Nolan himself rarely appears before a soul to lead them away, merely directing his Reapers as he sees fit, he almost invariably visits those who had taken their own lives, or are about to, and takes the time to let them pour out their pain and grief.

Sometimes, he manages to save them from accepting his gift before they're ready.

But even if he can't, at least he's already there to lead them on; after all, no one should have to make the journey to the afterlife alone.

Omónoia Invictus, Goddess of Harmony

Calm and dignified, Omónoia is interested in upholding the balance between Order and Chaos that the embodiments of such (the Announcer and Discord, respectively) tend to throw out the window when they mess with the other. Not a fan of violence, they will always try to placate heated tensions with words, and will only resort to using force when they have no other choice.

Of all of their aunts, uncles, and cousins, Omónoia is the only one to have managed to inherit Cave's wings. Theoretical daughter of the Announcer and Celestia (because i'm trash).

Biologically female, and tends to use feminine titles, but prefers to go by they/them pronouns.

Queen Rhodonite, Founder and Former Ruler of the Crystal City

Rhodonite, as a young changeling queen looking for a source of magic to feed and protect her small hive, discovered the Crystal Heart to the norrh of what would later become Equestria. By channeling and amplifying the love around her, Rhodonite was able to use the Crystal Heart to shield her changelings and a small group of earth ponies from the cold that the Long Winter brought, and to stave off the windigoes. At the defeat of Witiko and the discovery of the Elements of Harmony, she founded the Crystal City, working together with GLaDOS to build up the independant city-state.

The crystal ponies and changelings worked together in harmony; the ponies cultivating the utopia, the changelings maintaining the love that protected the city and its inhabitants from the harsh environment and controlling the weather.

The Crystal City, its citizens, and the Crystal Heart were all destroyed by Sombra around a decade after Nightmare Invictus came to power, leaving nothing behind but the crystalline remains of buildings, ponies, and changelings. Rhodonite was the lone survivor of the genocide, lingering among the broken corpse of her once-great city, lamenting her loss even to the present day.
