"FASTER! IT'S , MALEFOR!!!" Ignitus screamed. He shouted half to warn Amber, half to warn his teamates. Malefor crashed trhough the undergrowth atfer the two dragons. Ignitus and Amber jump-ed over a log while Malefor ripped right through it. Ignitus dared to look behind him. Maelfor was furious, Ignitus could tell, and revenge was in his eyes. Ignitus looked forward just to find himself fall over a cliff! Ignitus quickly recovered and flapped his wings to gain flight. Amber did the same. They were flying over the camp now, with all of his teammates awaiting their return.
"FLY! FLY LIKE YOU NEVER FLOWN BEFORE!" Ignitus screamed at the top of his lungs. At first they looked confused, then they saw Malefor. They flapped their wings rapidly and flown at top speed. Malefor flapped his wings and gained flight. He was catching up quickly.
Dang. I forgot Malefor was one of the best flyers in the world. Ignitus thought.
"Land!" He commanded. The dragons dived onto the forest floor. The crept slowly into a small cave. Ignitus prayed that Malefor wouldn't find them. Footsteps echoed loudly on the roof. Then massive banging cracked the roof.
"Quick! Get out!" Ignitus said and led his team out of the cave. They got out just in time that the cave colappsed. They took off in filght again with Malefor right behind them.

Cyril slept contentdly, dreaming of an ice world with no one else to disturb him. Then a high pitched screech woke him up.
"I swear, whoever woke me up," Cyril grumbled. But what was outside was not what he expected. Terrador was on the boulder that lay on it's side.
"Intruders!" He cried.
"I will teach that red team a lesson." Cindy growled. Sun had said when he introduced the challenge that each team will have seprate teritories. If any dragons crossed, they had to defend their territory.
"No.Another intruder-" Before Terrdor could finish the entire red team crahsed through the trees, with Malefor right behind them.
"Oh, that kind of intruder!" Cindy said nervously and flew away. The rest of the blue team raced after her. Malefor grolwed and clawed at them.
"Face me, murders!" Malefor said.
Does he even listen to himself? Cyril thought.
We may have killed his brother, but Malefor had killed many more. But then the young drgaons stopped and landed. A tall cliff stoof in their way, they couldn't fly over it in time to avoid Malefor.
Malefor landed also, blocking their only escape route.
"Now face your fate!" He roared and tried to claw them. The dragons avoided his attack. Cyril was the first to react. He froze his paw. Ignitus burned his side and Volteer and Haku brethaed electricty on him. Malefor broke the ice on his paw and didn't filnch at the other attacks. Malefor tried to tailwhip Jade.
"Look out!" Cyril said and stepped in front of her and breathed ice on his tail. But it only slowed down the speed of his tail.
Come on, come on,, Cyril thought as he kept breathing ice, Finnaly his tail stopped as it froze. Malefor examined his frozen tail and chuckled. He batted Cyril with his frozen tail, breaking the ice. Cyril landed against the stone hard. Cyril felt like the pain was unberable. The spot where he was hit was bruised and bleeding. Cyril groaned and go up slowly. But Malefor pounced on him, and bit intov his back as deep as his fangs would let him. He shook Cyril voilently.
"Make-it--stop!!" Cyril screamed as the pain overwhelmed him. Malefor tossed Cyril away like a ragdoll. Cyril knew he was seroiusly wounded, he didn't know if he would even survive another minute. Cyril ran, not phyiscally, but mentally, to the light.
No! Stop! Cyril thought as he stopped and looked the other deriction, where he could see his limp body. All the sudden the light became solid and Cyril slipped back down. Cyril gornaed and got back up, this time phisically. Cyril lifted his head and glared at Malefor. Then a sharp pain made Cyril flinch.
Iam no match for Malefor now. Cyril thought. Malefor lunged for Cyril once more.
"NO!" Cindy cried and stepped in the way and tackled Malefor. Malefor grunted with suprise. Cyril was impressed with her strength. Malefor got up swiftly, knocking Cindy off. Malefor glowed purple and lashed out at Cindy, and hit her. Cindy landed on her side, little puprle lighting streaks zapping through her.
"NOOO!!" Cyril cried. Despite his incredible pain, ran over to Cindy. A large shadow then flew over them.
It was Sun. He roared in rage and pinne Malefor down. Malefor had taken a beating and wasn't able to knock him off.
Cyril turned back to Cindy.
"Cindy," Cyril gasped. The other dragons were gathering around too.
"Cyril, all of you. I want you to understand, that, when you return to camp, I won't be coming with you." Cindy said.
"That's nonsence Cindy. We will all make it back. I saved you once." Cyril reassured her. Cindy clenched her teeth and arched her back in a spasm.
"Cyril, my precoius Cyril. That was a diffrent time. Nothing can save me now."Cindy whispered. She ovboisly was having trouble breathing.
Cyril looked into her eyes, and rembered all the meomires. Trying to survive the fire, throwing Cindy's frozen form in the lake to save her, escsaping the caves, coming back from the dead, being cabinmates,
Then Cyril reailzed. He loved Cindy. He loved her all along. He could tell Cindy felt the same way. Cyril bowed his head and restaed it in her shoulder.
"But, but what will the other dragons say?" Cyclone wondered.
"They will understand." Cindy said and then she slowly stood up. She bowed her head aganist each dragon, whispereing a final message to them. At last she came to Cyril and pressed her head against his.
"Goodbye, Cyril, I love you." Cindy whispered softly.
"Goodbye, Cindy. One day I will see you among the stars." Cyirl choked, a lump forming in his throat, making it hard to talk. Cyril saw the terrible wound on Cindy, a deep scracth that was still bleeding. Cindy looked at Cyril lovingly, with stars in her eyes. Then, with a deep sigh, she collapsed onto the ground dead. Cyril's heart ached like never before, then he colappsed as well.

Cyril slid along the ice pond. He slipped and ran into another dragon.
"Hey! Watch where your'e-" Cyril stopped his sentence when he saw the dragon was Cindy.
"Cindy!"Cyril exclamied.
"Hello, Cyril." Cindy purred.
"Iam so glad to see you again! Com on, let's catch up with the others!" Cyril said and bounded toward the snowy plain. He stopped when he reailzed Cindy wasn't following him. Cindy walked slowly after him.
"Cyril, I can't come with you." Cindy said. Cyril finnaly noticed that Cindy wasn't solid, he could see right through her. Then he rembered what happened the prevoius night, and soon figured out where he was.
If Iam here, does that mean Iam dead too? Cyil thought. Cindy seemed to read his mind.
"My afterlife is here, Cyril. But you're path still wait's for you, and I will wait for you here, untill you're path ends." Cindy said.
" I will wait too Cindy,but you will always be in my heart." Cyril said before he vanished.
Cyril woke up startled. He looked around hopefully for Cindy, but didn't find her anywhere. Then he rembered his dream, and Cyril slumped back into his nest.
The door creaked open as another dragon entered.
Cyril grolwed and spread his wings defendaltly.
"Leave me alone!" Cyril hissed.
"Cyril, calm down. It's me, Jade. I made you some soup." Jade said and placed the soup bowl in front of him. Herbs were stirred into the soup. Cyril breathed mist on it to make it more apptizing and slurped up the soup. Once he finshed Jade took te bowl away. Cyril streched and walked outside. It was a buteiful day, despite everyone's loss and miesry. Cyril walked toward the fire pit when something caught his eye.
It was a patch of flowers and a stone placed in the ground. Cyril got closer untill he stood on top of the flower's. He saw the stone had words engraved in it.
In memory of Cindy,
a very kind dragon.
The stone read. Cyril felt like he had 10 gallons of water in his belly and sat by the grave. He started at the stone for a long time. Then he noticed a sahrp, smaller stone next to the grave. Cyril picked it up in his teeth and wrote:
We may have lost a good dragon,
But where ever we go, she will follow,
she will always remain in our hearts.
Cyril dropped the writng stone and placed his paw over the words.
Goodbye, Cindy. Cyril thought and looked up into the sky. He saw a cloud that looked just like Cindy. He swore the cloud spoke to him,
But this isn't goodbye forever. The cloud whispered.

The night owl hooted as the moon cast it's silvery glow. Ignitus and Haku crept carefully along the forest floor. Ignitus carried something in his mouth, the blue flag. Two weeks had passed since the night of Cindy's death, and tonight, was the night of Capture the Flag. Ignitus and Haku were in the heart of blue team territory, and they couldn't risk getting caught. The Blue tema flag was hidden well, under a root of a tree. But Ignitus spotted the bright fabric. Ignitus and Haku came to a steep hill when the bushes rustled as something sprang at them.

"RED ALERT! RED ALERT!" Jade screamed. Ignitus was startled and bumped into Haku. They stumbled down the hill as they struggled to regain their balance. Soon more blue team members came out.

"CATCH THEM! THEY GOT THE FLAG!" Cyclone screeched. Ignitus finnaly stumbled to his feet, but the grass was slippery and he slid down the slope like an iceskater. Ignitus tripped over a stone and landed roughly at the bottom of a hill. Haku laned on top of him. The two dragons stumble back up immideatley and ran like crazy. Ignitus and Haku jumped over logs and streams, weaved through the trees, anything to shake off the blue team members that were chasing them. But they were hard on their paws. Haku started to tire out and Jade pounced in her. Jade cuffed Haku and escorted her to the jail.
Haku tried to escape, but Jade didn't let her.
"RUN, IGNITUS, RUN!" Haku yowled as Cyclone broke through the bushes in pursuit of Ignitus. Igntius broke into flight. Cyclone copied. Cyclone was closing the gap between them in no time and was soon snapping at his tail. Ignitus crossed the Red team border and frantically searched for their jail, where he would need to drop of the flag. He soon found it. Amber and Berry were in gaurd. Terrador was he only prisnor, looking meisrble. When he spotted Ignitus and the flag, his expression turned to horror.
"No! Cyclone wailed. He was too late. Ignitus dropped the flag in the jail. Sun conventliy was nearby and walked through the undergrowth.
"Hmm. I see Ignitus has collected the flag. Cover you're ears." Sun said. The dragons covered their ears with their wings as Sun hollered very loudly.
"EVERYBODY STOP! TEAM RED WINS!" Sun hollered.
The Red team's cheers conifmed his annoucement.

Volteer happily ate his peice of dragonberry pie. the Red Team had won a feast for their Capture The Flag victory. Volteer was just about to grab the last peice when he noticed Cyril. Cyril was sitting on the floor, looking awfully sad. Volteer put the last peice of pie on a plate and carried it to Cyril.
"Here. Have the last peice of pie. be carefull no one sees you though." Volteer said.
"Thanks." Cyril said glumly.
"You're still thinking of her, aren't you?" Volteer said, sitting beside his friend.
"I've never lost a dragon before." Cyril admitted, his voice mumbled with pie.
"We all miss her Cyril. But nothing's bringing her back." Volteer said sympietictally. Cyril didn't reply.
He probaly wants to be left alone. Volteer thought and left his freind without another word.
One week later,,
Volteer yawned and streched. The sun shined through the curtains.
"It must be morning." Volteer thought out loud and pulled back the curtains. The window was open and a cold breeze rushed into his face. the leaves were slowly starting to lose their color. Summer was coming to a close and soon summer camp would be over. Volteer could still remeber the day they arrived as clear as if it was yesterday, but it seemed so long ago.
And Cindy was still alive back then. Volteer thought sadly. Volteer opened the cabin door and walked to the camp hall. A fresh smell greeted him when he came in.
"Hey, Volteer! You're late for breakfast!" Terrador said as he munced on a muffin.
After breakfast the dragons were gathered around the fire pit. Cyril was sittng by Cindy's grave, his head bowed.
"Iam worried about him. Will he ever get over it?" Berry whispered to Volteer. Volteer nodded. It had been three weeks since she died, and Cyril was still depressed about it. But Volteer had been depressed for a long time when his dad died.
It probaly takes a long time to get over the death of someone. Espically someone you loved. Volteer thought. Then Sun came.
"Okay every one. Listen up." Sun said. Cyril came by the fire pit now, and Sun's eyes clouded with guilt.
It was his job to protect us, and he failed. Volteer thought. Sun wasn't himself after the death of Cindy.
"You have lived for almost an enitre summer an The Great Forest. But you haven't explored nearly a quarter of it. So today, were going on a hike." Sun annouced. The drgaon's started talking excietdley.
"Where will we be going to?"Jade asked.
"That is a suprise. i will lead the way." Sun said. The drgaon's eagerly bounded after him.
"I wonder where were going." Berry whispered to Volteer. Volteer shrugged and ran to catch up with Berry close behind.

Ummm...I thought you said it was set before Anb? How can Cyril die?

Yeah, but he didn't die. He PASSED OUT. It was Cindy that died.

They stopped for lunch in a meadow on a tall hill. Sun was handing out bagged lunches. Volteer grabbed his without asking and ripped it open. Sun stared at him as if he had just belched like a bear.
"Umm, thanks." Volteer said akwardly. Sun nodded and went back to handing out lunches. Volteer turned back to the luche's content's. There was a ham and cheese sandwhich, a honey and nut granola bar, a rasberry yougurt and a dragon berry juice box.
"Whoever eats all of their lunch will get some trailmix for the road." Sun said The dragons gobbled down their lunch in responce. Once every scarp of food was gone, Sun handed out the trail mix. Then they were on their way again.
"Mmmmm." Volteer mumbled as he ate the salty trail mix. When evreybody finished their trail mix and recylcd it in a recylce box they reached a river. There was a stone in the middle of the river that looked like a dragon.
"We are close to our destination." Sun annouced. After a one more mile Sun stopped and raised his paw as a signal for everybody to stop, as well. Volteer looked down and saw the land went down to form a cliff. The river turned into a water fall and some water flaoted away as mist. The sun shined on the mist, creating a rainbow. Below the forest flourushed in the valley.
"This is Wind Valley, home of Sky falls. This is the birthplace of dragon filght. Like every dragon, they must learn how to fly. This is the best place to learn, since the wind supports the dragon. Now it is your time to learn to fly." Sun said before he leaped off the cliff. The dragons gasped. But with two wingbeats Sun was hovering.
"Come on now." Sun coaxed. Everyboy hesitated, except Cyclone. Cyclone bounded off the cliff and was soon hovering beside Sun. Terrador was the next to follow. One by one the dragons joined the others hovering over the waterfall, untill only Volteer was remaining. The dragons encouraged Volteer to jump, but Volteer was frozen. He thought about the shark that grabbed his wing and bit down hard, dragging him under,,,
What if my wing isn't strong enough to support me yet? Volteer thought. But then other voices spoke in his head.
You can fly Volteer, you can fly, The ansestors whispered to him. Then Volteer felt a new energy overwhelm him. Volteer charged at the cliff and jumped. Everything seemed to go in slow motion. He could hear his heartbeat and the slurred voices of the congratulations of the dragons around him. Then h returned back to normal and felt the mist and breeze on his face. He could see almost everything from here. Volteer never felt so alive. But the moment of victory didn't last long. His injured wing was scratched on a sharp stick when he jumped and the wound opened again. The pain was very intense and all of the sudden the wind wasn't so comforting. It whistled and roared as Volteer fell to the ground thousands of miles below.

"NOO!!" Sun holwed and dived after Volteer. Terrador couldn't belive what just happned. Then he rembered Volteer's drowning when they were escaping the eruption,
Of course! His wing isn't strong enough! Terrador thought., Then Sun grabbed Volteer and rested him on his back. Everybody sighed with relief. Soon they were all flying across the valley once more.
"Are we going to get back to camp?" Ignitus wondered.
"No. Were camping on the other side of the valley. But you all have to be very careful." Sun answered.
"Why?" Everybody said at the same time.
"Their is a legend that a monster lives in and around this valley. It's a giant snake with eagle wings. it could eat a dragon in one gulp and it is very territoral." Sun said.
"But that's just some stupid story. It's not true." Terrador pointed out.
"Lots of dragons say that. But a long time ago, three dragons went hiking in this area. Only two returned. They said a giant snake attacked them." Sun said.
"Oh." Terrador said.
After what seemed like hours they reached the other side of the valley. Soon they reached a small clearing surronded by trees.
"Here we are." Sun said. The dragons scattered to find the best places to sleep. Ignitus's stomach rumbled. It had been a long time since they eaten lunch.
"Sun, Iam hungry. Can we get something to eat?" Ignitus asked.
"Just wait 20 minutes for everybody to find their spot." Sun replied.
"20 minutes! I can't wait that long!" Ignitus exclaimed as his belly grumbled.
"Well, you'll just have to put up with it." Sun chuckled. Ignitus muttered angrily to himself as he walked away.
Their has to be food out here somewhere. Ignitus thought as he slipped out of the clearing. Ignitus carefully scouted the area. He spotted a blueberry bush.

Ignitus ate the blue berries untill he spotted a rabbit. The rabbit didn't even see him coming. Ignitus killed it and ate untill only the bones remained.
"Ignitus!" Ignitus whipped around when somebody called him. It was Shadow, Haku and Jade!
"What are you doing here!"Ignitus exclamied, only remembering just in time to keep his voice down.
"We followed you." Jade said simply.
"Promise you won't tell?" Ignitus growled.
"Tell? Were hungry too. What's there to eat?" Shadow asked.
"Oh." Ignitus said, relxing his mucles. They found many rabbit's and berries to eat and ate untill their belly's were full to the maximum. Now they lay on the grass, taking a nap. Haku's scales shone orange-yellow in the setting sun as Jade snored loudly. Ignitus woke up to hear a hissing sound. He saw something slither in the grass.
"Umm, guys, wake up." Ignitus said.
"Just a few more minutes." Haku yawned.
"NOW." Ignitus said firmly. The dragons lazliy got up.
"What?" Shadow said, blinking his eyes.
"Were being hunted." Ignitus said. The thing hissed again as if to prove his point.
"This way. We have to stay down wind." Jade said. They crept through the long grass, away from the way they came. The thing snarled and slithred closer. Ignitus fought the urge to panic and run.
"Stop."Jade whispered.
Right in front of them, the thing that was following them, was a giant snake with wings.
"Stay very still."Haku cationed. The snake seemed to stare right at them, but didn't react.
Just a few more seconds and it will leave,, Ignitus thought. Then pollen tickled Ignitus nose and he sneezed. The snake stood up tall and towered over the dragon's and hissed.
"Okay, now it's time to run." Jade said and the dragon's took filght. The snake dashed after them. The snake snapped at Haku's tail. Haku doged and flew faster.
"Fly higher!" Ignitus yelled. The dragons flew toward the sky untill the snake looked tiny. The snake hissed and flapped its wings and flew after them.
"What!? Snake's don't fly!" Jade exclaimed.
"It doesn't matter now if you want to live!" Ignitus said and they raced away. The snake was right behind them and curled his tail around the dragons.
The snake hissed and bared it's huge fangs,,
This is it. It's all over. Ignitus thought and prepared to meet the ansestors. Shadow grolwed and lunged. He dug his claws into it's neck and bit hard. the snake screeched and tried to shake him off.
"I have it distracted. Go!" Shadow ordered as he avoided the snake's venomus bite. The dragons didn't need to be told twice. they flew as fast as they could. Then a ear splitting scream made them turn around.
Shadow had been bit. Shadow went limp as he tumbled to the ground.
"Noo!" Jade cried and flew after Shadow. Moments later she returned carrying Shadow.
"Let's go!" Jade commanded.The dragons felw on untill a salty wind blew them offcourse. They had reached the sea!
"I didn't know we were this close to the sea." Haku said thoughtfully.
"Well, it's a millon times bigger then the Saffire Sea." Ignitus said. Then the wind holwed as it dragged the dragons down.
"Fly up!" Ignitus cried.
"We can't! the winds too strong!" Jade answered.The four friends fell through a stone hole and landed roughly in a cave.
"Where are we?" Haku groaned. Ignitus stepped forward and his paw was submerged in water. Ignitus licked the water. It was unpleasntly salty.
"Were in a sea side cave." Ignitus replied.
"Oh no! Soon this place will be full with water! We have to get out!" Jade cried. But it was too late. The snake landed on the cave which was enough to make the only entrance collapse. What was a way to the surface was now a pile of rock.
"Were trapped." Ignitus annouced grimly.
"Well, if this is are last day, we will wont fall without a fight." Shadow said as he stood up slowly.
The dragons gasped.
"But,but the snake just bit you," Haku stammered.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you. Black dragon's are imune to poison." Shadow chuckled.

Ignitus looked around the cave. The stone floor was smooth and lots of dead end tunnels flowed through the cave. Water seeped into the cave as the tide came in. Then a head appread from the water. It was the snake! It bit Haku's tail and dragged her into the water.
"Help!" She gurgled as she struggled to stay afloat. Ignitus hissed and breathed fire on the snakes nose. The snake hissed and let go of Haku. He dived back under the water and didn't reappear. Haku sucked the venom out of her tail and spat it out.
"Iam okay." She said.
So the snake found a way in they couldn't reach. The water was going to flood the cave and there was no way out. Ignitus gulped. This was their last stand.Ignitus silpped all the sudden and struggled in the saltly water. Shadow pulled him out. Ignitius looked back at the water. The water level rapidly increased, and the water submerged their ankles. All of the sudden the waters current grew louder. Thden Ignitus realized. The water was flowing through the tunnels! A wave splashed through the tunnel and swept up Ignitus.
"No!" Jade cried and reached for him. It was too late. Ignitus fell to the bottom of the tunnel. The tunnels end was too steep and sliperry to cilmb up.
"Ignitus!!" Shadow cried. His voice echoed around the tunnel walls.
"Help!Help!" Ignitus screamed at the top of his lungs. Their was no response. Ignitus watched helplessly as the water slowly filled the tunnel and it was harder and harder for Ignitus to stand.


Cyril looked around frantically.
"HAKU!SHADOW!JADE!IGNITUS!!" He screamed. Cyril never felt so sick at heart. He had lost Cindy, now would he lose four of his best friends as well?
"CAN YOU HEAR US!?" Sun boomed. The dragons had sended out a urgent search party after the four went missing. A group of frightened birds flew away, squaking in alarm about the screaming dragons. Sun sighed and colappsed on the ground. They had been searching all night. Every one was tired. But that was not the only reason Sun was upset.
"I failed to protect you last time. And now I have failed again."Sun said sadly.
"Don't say that,Sun. Well find them, you'll see." Berry encouraged.
I wish I could belive that. Cyril thought miserbly. They searched the entire area. Where else could they be? Just then they heard loud hissing in the distance.
"Did you hear that?" Terrador said. Acommpanied by the hissing was a scream. A dragon scream. Suns eyes filled with urgency and hope.
"Follow me!" He barked as he jumped into the air. They felw at top speed untill they saw a giant snake.
"What is that!?" Cyclone exclaimed.
"Its the snake that's attacking the campers!" Sun growled and dived at the snake. Nobody questoined how he knew that. The young dragons landed by the shore as Sun attacked the snake. Anotherscream sounded right below them.
"They could be trapped underground! Dig near that rotting spot!" Volteer ordered. Everyone was digging rapidly at the loose soil. Sun and the snake fought tirelessly as the hole grew bigger and bigger. Then they reached a solid,stone wall.
"Step back! I'll break through!" Terrador shouted. Everyone obyed. There was a huge crash as the stone wall broke. Amber and Cyril stood beside Terrador to see what was going on. They reached a cave with water almost filling it.The water from the cave flowed at their paws as it escaped from the cave. Three dragons huddled at the back, drowing. It was Shadow,Haku and Jade!
"Over here!" Cyril called. The dragons swam over to them, struggling. Amber,Terrador and Cyril helped them into the tunnel and back onto the surface.
"Guys,Ignitus is still in there,stuck in a tunnel. He doesn't have much longer." Shadow gasped before he colappsed.
"Well,Cyril, can't you freeze the water to help him out?" Amber asked. Cyril shook his head.
"Then we would freeze Ignitus. And the water wouldn't freeze anyway, since it's salt water. Iam going in." Cyril said. Before anybody could argue Cyril dived in the flooded cave. Cyril swam to the tunnel, holding his breath. Cyril swam carefully down the narrow tunnel. At the bottomhe saw a red body, lying limp. It was Ignitus.
No. This can't be happening.. Cyril thought as he grabbed him by the scruff. When he reached the main tunnel, he ralized in horror it was already flooded. Cyril swam through the tunnel and swam to the light. Cyrils head broke through the surface and walked onto land. He let go of Ignitus and gasped for air. Ignitus slowly opened his eyes and vomited up water.
"Your alive!" Amber cried.
"Yes. Iam okay." Ignitus sqeaked. Then they heard a scream, and a loud hiss. the dragonds rushed over to the scene. Sun lay on the ground, venom ozzing from his shoulder. And the snake lay dead, his belly torn in half.

"NOO!!" Jade wailed and ran over to Sun. Everybody followed. Terrador couldn't belive it. First Cindy, and now Sun.
We didn't even get to say goodbye. He thought. Then Sun twitched, and stood up slowly.
"Thank goodness! We thought you were dead!" Berry cried.
"Oh, no. Its too late now." Sun said. All the dragons looked shocked.
" But,n-n-n no. It can't happen! We-we could get na-natural disinfectant and get the ven- venom- out and you'll be good as -n-n new!" Volteer stammered.
"No. That won't be enough." Sun gasped.
"Oh Sun. This is all my fault. If I hadn't wandered off-" Ignitus whimpered.
"Its not your fault, Ignitus. Iam proud of you. What you done only shows that you have spirit. And thats what I want in all dragons. Espically you, my son-" Sun said. Ignitus gasped and his jaws dropped.
"Thats not true-" Ignitus whispered.
"It is! I had to give you up so Malefor wouldn't find you! There was a prophecy, around you. It siad-" Sun stopped to catch his breath.
"What did it say!?" Cyclone demanded.
"It said-the one chosen by the phoenix, will have more power than a purple dragon." Sun said.
Terrador couldn't belive his ears. But it was true! So there was more than one reason Malefor tried to hunt him down, and the phoenix did choose him,,
"But Iam proud of all of you. I belive you will achive great things." Sun panted. Then Sun colappsed on the ground and shook voilently. Then he stood still. His scales seemed to lose their lively colour.
"He's..gone" Cyril whispered. Of all the dragons, Ignitus was the most shocked. He sat beside Suns corpse, staring into space.


It was sunset when they buried Sun and gave him a proper funeral. They stared at the glowing lights. They sat there untill night fell. The northern lights danced in the sky. Some rays were orange and yellow, the colour of Sun's scales. Some rays were pink too, like Cindy. The wind picked up and Terrador could almost hear words in the breeze.
Don't worry. I forgive you. The voice sounded just like Cindy. Terrador looked at Cyril. Cyril looked at the sky in wonder to hear Cindys voice. Haku sat right beside Terrador.
"This was the summer that changed our lives." Haku whispered. Terrador nodded. The summer was over, and there was no doubt they all had a diffrent view of life. Haku leaned against Terrador and they stared at the stars, wondering where their friends were up there.
"Your right Haku. This summer changed us in no way imagineable. But there was good memories too. Memories we will always cherish." Terrador said. Everybody heard him and nodded in agreement. They listened to the breeze scutlle the fading leaves and the stars sing their peaceful song.
