I can't believe I'm saying this, but the more I see of this thing, the better it looks. The toy form, at least. The in-game pictures and videos of him are still deeply horrifying.

A friend of mine at TRU got Thrill in today, no street date according to the system so they can sell them now if your store gets them in. She didn't mention the vehicle.

Got my Thrillipede and Dive Bomber today, I posted pictures in the wave 4/4.5 topic if anyone wants to see them. The packages are ridiculously huge, as tall as two giants on top of each other.

He looks much better in hand than in photos. He's comparable to Pearl Hex.

I want Thrillipede ASAP, but I really don't wanna get this variant... I like the pearl texture but... THOSE EYES. Plus it just seems weird seeing a rabbit-designed Skylanders using bug attacks and going through metamorphosis... o_o also, mustard engine. GAHHH I can't decide, are there any others who hate him like I do but have him in-hand?

Seeing him in photos, I wasn't a big fan of him, but he looks much better in hand. His engine doesn't seem mustard colored, more a pastel yellow.

Shouldn't sticky tape make it harder to throw?
Also I guess species advantages are a-ok if you're a Skylander... And even more ok to compete with muscular four arms against someone with stick limbs(no seriously go look at some freeze frames from Kaos' sleeves or when he jumps). Kaos would totally have a case if he called differences in strength.

So, about Thrillipede growing wings, he does temporarily grow wings on his top path, however, he can not actually fly. He only hovers there, you can't actually move him.\

Oh no no no no no, so dissapointing.I'm sad right now.was expecting to be able to move around with those super wings.been thinking about this like for months. This was an importante detail for me.oh.

What is the point of growing wings. What does he do during flight?

And I thinking RB's soul gem this time would be the laziest they'd get. Wow, that's useless, where did 'small speed boost but not an actual upgrade' from TT?

He can only rapidly throw his egg grenades during flight, which once an enemy gets in close range, it's useless, and since you can't move, your only hope is to spam that button and hope you kill the enemies before they get close. If they get in close range, once you land, you'll take a ton of damage from their attacks as Thrillipede recovers.

They better not pull a doomstone on us....

Yep, and they were a borderline antivax organization until the whole measles in California/whooping cough outbreak things made them look bad. Some of their leaders still lean that way, but they took a neutral position as an organization because they were afraid donations were going to dry up.

There's atually a really good post and bigger one that explains more and goes into detail about their 'autism is a disease' theme but I lost it entirely. Razz reposted it on her tumblr but she left DS so out of luck with finding it easily :I

I must admit, when I saw that lightbulb, I thought they were lightcore. I've never heard of this group before, but judging from other's reactions, I assume they do PETA levels of "oh my god those people are lunatics" levels of crazy.

No, they aren't that bad like PETA. But they are a big organization with lots of "overhead" costs (aka big salaries and expenses for people that work there). Charitable dollars are much better used by smaller, local charities anyways. One issue, as mentioned, is they treat autistic kids as "broken", when that is far from the truth. There is a spectrum that has been widened quite a bit in the past several years, which is good because it allows parents to get insurance coverage where they may not have in the past. You have many different levels of it, from those that cannot function at all socially to those that just have little "quirks" that most people would overlook. But organizations like Autism Speaks (and some of the others much more severely) want to treat them like they are all damaged. That's a horrible way to treat people that might just need a little help and understanding.

Also, as I mentioned, you have the antivax angle. Autism Speaks has backed away from it in light of some of the recent outbreaks and the overwhelming scientific evidence. But, some of the people that run it are still very much antivax - they just stopped advertising it when public opinion turned sour. They never outright took the antivax perspective, but many of their statements were dripping in coded language, and several people have been pushed out that did not buy the antivax perspective over time.

There are lots of articles on their shifting position on vaccines, people getting pushed out that disagreed and the high pay of executives (the former head made $436,000 in 2012, how many Skylanders you think it would take to cover that?) if you want to Google it.

Oh my god, I'm in love with Power Blue Splat! I think I have a new favorite Variant! (I guess it's because it looks similiar to the Enchanted ones).

I'll display it somewhere in my room. Also I'm autistic as well but don't know much about Autism Speaks, except that it's bad. But at least this "campaign-themed" variant would be relevant to who I am, with the autism thing and anything.

Long story short, they treat autism like the end of the world as if it's a terrible sickness you can't function with and they act like autisic adults are non-existent. They want to "cure" it but they can't seem to wrap their heads around the concept that it's just a brain pattern and not a sickness. They also were almost anti-vaccine supporters from what I hear, but I don't know much on that factor. I like how Activision is trying to do good by partnering with them, but I can't see these variants boding well with the public.
