I'm sure the VAs from "The Simpsons" didn't expect to be working on the show 25 years later. Regardless of the obstacles, the quality of the bottom line effort will tell me if they want this to be in it for the long haul.

Honestly I really like Ashley Tisdale and all the characters she plays as, but I agree that her as a ninja seems very unusual and doesn't seem too fitting for Stealth Elf. No offense to Ashley, but most of the characters she plays tend to be loud and noisy. Now she has to play a character who is known for being silent and quiet. It makes me wonder how they will portray Stealth Elf and I hope this isn't the beginning of bad decisions.

Well... I doubt they would pick her if they felt like she wasn't a good choice... Maybe they held auditions and she was to only one who showed up for Stealth Elf and did a surprisingly good job or something? IDK...

^I would not expect themes from the games since that means Activision would have to shell out royalties to Lorne Balfe and Remote Control Productions. If they do pull out anything from the games I'll bet my money on Kaos's theme showing up simply because it's so recognizable and all over the games. Of course, they could hire Balfe to do the music, but I find that really unlikely as he's only ever done TV miniseries and he usually does them with Hans Zimmer to lighten the workload.

The property was just *destined* for a TV tie-in from the beginning... it's possible the original deals for the video game music gave Activision full control over the music for additional tie-ins down the road, inclusinf television and film.

I've rarely heard of instances where the production companies, and not the composer, own the rights to the music. And there have been numerous examples where media has had music censored or episodes of shows have disappeared entirely due to legal/copyright disputes with musicians and composers. Especially with a company as big as Remote Control Productions. They're pretty much the major company for composers. <.<;

In a world where they can work through the legal red tape to get unedited Wonder Years released on DVD (a show once thought to be impossible for home release due to the insane music rights tied up in every episode), I wouldn't put it past Activision to have had this worked out in advance. It could be something as simple as owning the music whole-cloth or an option to buy television/film rights at a later date should they decide to follow that path. I'm sure both companies knew what they were doing when they made their agreements and the idea of Activision (a brand that has been around for decades and has dealt with licensed properties for years) wants to use the already existing soundtracks, they probably have a way of making it worth. It depends if it fits in their budget and vision for the show... but we'll see.

I meant like a whole new thread. Like how we have a Superchargers thread, a Trap Team thread... Again, when the show is closer to airing of course.

Thread/topic can mean the same thing on the forums.

We have to wait until dark adds the Skylanders Academy section to the Skylanders board, probably when it's close to airing or more details are released.

What would be nice is if dark added a subforum for the show where only mods could create topics. Have an "Everything we know" thread for discussion of official announcements, a general thread for catch-all discussions, then every once in a while, a mod could create a specialised thread for specific, guided discussion (like "What VA do you want to hear in Skylanders The TV show?" or whatever).

When the show gets closer to airing, the forum could then be opened up for all users to create new topics.

This would create one go-to place that's easily identifiable for folks who want to talk about the cartoon and save the trouble of having to sort through threads on half a dozen different boards to move the TV-show related threads to.

This is my worry as well. I don't wanna see these characters be reduced to nothing more than senseless, repetitive and obnoxious humor and redundant conflicts. No offense to any Sonic Boom fans I just wish that show had more conflict and not such idiotic humor.

I really hate the "celebrity" voice actor list. MEH. They don't suit the characters one bit. I wish animated studios would stop using celebrities for their cartoons, because they don't get me interested into any of them and for the most part it puts me off. I honestly don't care for celebrities in animated shows and movies, and none influence me to go crazy for their appearance like I was some typical mainstream obsessed twerp (like the majority of America). Like all celebrities do, they will use their normal talking voices to voice these characters and don't try to be creative and come up with new voices or alter their normal voices to suit the characters and their personalities, because for them it's just another paycheck.

I'm going to cringe hard when I hear Stealth Elf reduced to a whiny, high pitched and loud teenage girl by Tisdale's usual performance instead of the levelheaded, dangerous and hushed tone ninja that she is in the video games. This is why I love anime voice over artists than celebrities, because they give better performances, they stay true to the characters' personalities and provide some voice other than their normal talking voice for those characters.

Voice actors can change the pitch of their voices. There is a chance Tisdale may not even sound like Candance when she does Stealth Elf in the series.

Yet again I'll admit I have a very guilty pleasure of liking Tisdale's characters especially Candace Flynn. I actually liked her so much I even supported her whole busting habit, plus she had the best songs in Phineas and Ferb.

I'm still more worried about the show writer than any of the actors. I'd take Dave Polsky like Sonic Boom any day over someone who 3 times out of 5 forgets about incharacter and plot coherence.

I'm multi-tasking doin actual work now so I can't read through thread atm, but I've been saying they should do this for a couple years now, even if its "Straight to Netflix" it just seems like too good an oppurtunity, not just with trying to make money off the show, but with such a diverse cast of characters, it creates a way to push and create actual attraction to some of the non-fan favorites like Zoo-Lou, or revisit old friends like Hot Head, to not just spur old sales, but to help swallow the bitter pill that are reposes...

Well... If the most recent games and comics are indicative of what this series will be I think we'll all be pleased.

This series as a whole is much more than what meets the eye.

3D style because the actual games are 3D and I barely see anything 2D anymore.

2D would be cool but we haven't seen anything in the series that would be reference to that,Fico Ossio is a comic artist and not an animator too. But on 3D the question stands if it'll be in-engine or in a new, more movie-like style, since you could definately do either.

I'd bet 3D, and the same kind of quality as the in-game cutscenes.
