"What if we assume the visions are not from the past, what if they are from the future?" Trevmor asked. "I mean... It's better safe than sorry."

Sparks turned her head to look at Ziera, a little worried, for once.

Scruffy's head was down, his feathery black tail whisking the floor anxiously. Dark was talking sense- he himself was almost sure they were visions too. But why must they be a gamble? They had a choice- sit around and be tortured by their memories of the lab, or take action in prepare.
"I think we're lucky," he grunted. "We should assume they are visions from the future. And by lucky, I mean we are given a chance. A chance to train ourselves and prepare for the possibility that the mad scientists will return. We have to take extreme caution with these visions. Somehow, they are being sent to us. Now we need to decide what to do with them." He looked up, red eyes glowing. "And I believe we need to take action about this." A memory of another fusion entered his brain- a Lucario, perhaps? The name came to him in a flash. "We need to find Denim," he proposed. "Denim can teach us how to use our strengths and how to outwit the humans."

Austin crawled out from under Cyra and hugged her "It will be ok" He said

"Why do we even need Denim?" Trevmor asked. "Can't we just plow those humans over? Beating the stuffing out of things sends a powerful message."

"They could just come back stronger if we did that" Austin said

"We need a way to get rid of them for good." Darkwing suggested.

"How hard could that be?" Trevmor asked.

"What do we do then? Cyra... If they try to hurt you, they have to go through me, same with everyone else" Austin said

Scruffy drooped his head sadly. All he remembered about the dark Lucario fusion was that he knew humans extremely well, for some reason. He had no clue where Denim would be. If Scruffy had to take a guess, he'd think Denim was in the mountain range a fair distance away. The only problem was, the mountain range lay in between their forest and the lab they'd escaped from. Would searching for Denim be worth it? Or would they be giving themselves up to the researchers by going that direction?

"I aint afraid of no dumb machines," Trevmor said. "No one's tougher than me. ...Expect probably a legendary."

"We could hide in a cave or something, it might not be a good idea, but its all I got" Austin said

"We could fight fire with fire; you know, capture them and put them through all kinds of horrific stuff that gives them nightmares forever," Darkwing suggested

"That's a little extreme" Austin said "They'd probably send more here with better defenses"

"Well why don't we ask the Raichu what we should do?" Trevmor asked. "Or did he already tell us?"

Scruffy looked up at Dark as he heard his name. Sparks cocked her head at him. "Scruffy, what's up? Do you have an idea?"
"Um…" The Poochyena fusion scraped his talons against the floor nervously. "Just…thinking. About Denim. If we should…y'know, see if he can train us."

"We should, just incase" Austin said, agreeing with Scruffy

"Training, huh?" Trevmor started to think about training, whether it would benefit him or not. "I'm already pretty strong. I don't know if any more training would be necessary, but... Maybe I could go for some I guess."

"I hope we find him soon" Austin said

"Why can't we just train among ourselves again?" Trevmor asked.

"We need to learn how to cover each other's weaknesses effectively Trevmor" Austin said

"Denim's in the mountains," Scruffy revealed. "And, well...it's not...that kind of training. (He could though, if we need it!) Denim knows how the researchers think, I mean. He'd be able to show us how best to avoid them and...combat them, if necessary."

"I think we should" Austin said

"If it helps get the one-up on those evil humans, I'll do anything," Trevmor said.

"Yeah! Let's go, Scruffy," Sparks added in, grinning at the Dark-type fusion. Scruffy seemed taken aback for a moment that everyone agreed with the plan, then he dipped his head. "Let's not waste any time, then." When he looked up, he faced Dark one last time, eyes glittering with respect. "Thank you for your advice and information, Dark. Hopefully we will return soon." With that he strode purposefully out of the cave, trying to form a map of the area in his mind.

"Ready, Ziera?" Sparks neighed, talking to the fusion on her back.

I followed Cyra "So... Do you think the humans would try to change me?" I asked

Let's see...the mountains were the opposite direction from Ferris Forest. So if I go this way... Scruffy raised his muzzle to the sky, in thought, then began walking forward again. Most of the fusions did not leave the forest. Beyond there was the mountains, and beyond the mountains were the lab they had escaped from. Plenty of bad memories were there that every fusion wished to forget. But now, that was the direction they had to go to meet up with Denim. Scruffy was sure that if they moved quickly and sneakily it wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Sparks trotted out of the cave and shook her mane. "Phew! Sunlight at last. I have no clue how Dark stands it in there," she commented.

Scruffy flicked an ear back. This would be a solemn journey, terrifying even. They all had a right to be paranoid- this was pretty much a gamble. Were the nightmares of the past, or the future? Scruffy frowned. The mystery of it all was making him stressed. He really wished he could take a rest with Cyra and confess his worries, but he had a group to lead.

"Oh yeah!" Sparks responded cheerfully. "That explains everything! Dark can have his dark cave, but I love our forest." She flicked her long pink tail.

I happily walked alongside Cyra "Are you ok Cyra?" I asked

I climbed onto Cyra and hugged her "I know something is wrong, you're not being yourself" I said

"They probably will happen again," Trevmor mentioned. "We just have to prepare ourselves for it if it does come."

"You won't let them hurt you Cyra" I said as I rubbed my head against Cyra's neck

Scruffy turned his head as the others chatted, listening to them voice their worries. "Trevmor is right. We're working on preparing ourselves now, and that's all we can ask. And though all of this is concerning, we can't forget that scrap of hope that these are all memories from the past." After pausing a moment, he growled a little bit at Austin. "Stop it."

"Why?" I asked "I'm just trying to cheer Cyra up"
