I didn't start telling people that I'm gay until 4 months ago.. I have anxiety, so it made it hard for me to tell people. Even though I knew I was gay for a long time.

Yeah, I'm almost 17 years old. I'm definitely not too young. I passed puberty and such like that years ago. I definitely know what I like.
It's always scary when you come out to your parents.. Especially if they are religious.

It's always scary when you come out to your parents.. Especially if they are religious.

My family is religious, but not that much, the only hints of whether they're homophobic or not are this:

My Dad never says anything about LGBT stuff, last time he said anything was "Are those really their gloves?" when Norway had those FABULOUS gloves at the Sochi Olympics during the Medal Ceremony.

My mother is, I don't know, she said "Your father said that he dedicated the song "Addicted to You" to me, but when we saw the video, he decided not to, because they were lesbians. As a woman, I'm not the one to judge, but I still find two woman kissing very displeasing"

My brother is definately not homophobic, he shows his support very clearly, by saying "Urgh, I was on YouTube and then these homophobic imbeciles showed up, it's the 21st century idiots!" As well as "In Jimmy Kimmel live, Jimmy said "And here's what the bible said about homosexuality, I'd love to tell you, but I don't have anything to say!" He's a fun guy."

So If I were to come out to my family it would totally be to my bro first.

Oh wow.

Well, my mother is very homophobic.. She threw a complete fit when she saw two guys kissing on TV. I was even with her too. I got very upset and very angry on the inside, but I said nothing. I was like 12 or 13 at the time, so I didn't tell anyone yet.

My father is completely different. He's the complete opposite of my mother. He said he has nothing against gays. Hell, he even has a gay friend at his work. He tells me that he flirts with my father sometimes. My father doesn't like it though, obviously. My father is completely heterosexual. My father and I were actually talking about gays 3 weeks ago. He said he has nothing against gays, like I said before. I live with my father by the way. My parents have been divorced since before 2000. In 1999.

I'll tell my family probably after high school, which is actually coming up soon.. I will be so anxious, I'll probably have a heart attack or something. Who knows, I may get over my anxiety.

Also, I have a boyfriend too as well. I talk to him on Skype and such, so it's like we're actually talking to each other in person. I was scared at first to Skype him, since my anxiety. I've been dating him since April 28th. You can tell by signature.

I know how you feel Robbie.I also have anxiety.My parents though are not homophobic but I do feel they may have some issues.

My father while he said that he does not care what I am makes some offensive jokes about homosexuality which I find offensive but I guess he kind of expects me to be straight.

My mother while watching tv finds it hard to see two people of the same gender kissing but really that is it she likes gays,she has two very close friends both male and in a relationship.

My sister is like my father but I say I could come out to her first.

I just am scared since my anxiety makes me think the worst and I have feelings like:

'What if they kick me out','What if they don't love me anymore' etc.

I know one of my age (13) should not feel like this but I do.Also may I mention the fact that my mother expects me to give her grandchildren. :/

Well, my mom don't have much more time to live anyway.. She's been very lucky of living a lot. I have a long story about me and her and our relationship isn't healthy at all, so there you go.

My dad hates kids. So I'm fine of not having kids, but I can adopt kids if I want to. I don't like kids though either.

Eh, im less afraid of coming out at home than school. My Dad might be ok with it. My Grandma is extremly religious so....i dunno. My cousin will be fine with it, although i dont think my uncle would take the news happily.
At school....i mean, i know plenty of people who support homosexuals, most of them being my friends, but it's just...im extremly afraid about some kids and just...yeah...plus, currently i'm not a very trusting person because I told someone who i thought could keep the secret, but nope, he goes around blabbing that im gay and told him.

That's the problem, i'm not 100% proud of who I am so It's hard to get enough confidense to tell someone, as I honestly can't handle rejection or something like that...

I'm rather the opposite. Granted part of me is nervous on coming out about mine as I'm still unsure on just wtf I am..... Though I'm sure most of my friends would be fine with it as I have some gay friends who they are cool with.

My mom has slightly hinted that she would prefer I like girls and my dad is prejudiced against everything to the point he has bluntly stated I'm pretty much only allowed to marry a Czech, Catholic, White girl. Though oddly my religious uncle has said he knows it isn't a choice and is fine with it if I am gay as long as I don't mention any details.... :I

I'll come out when I damn well please. I know my parents will accept me (Other than my Step-dad, but my mom wants a divorce from him, so it doesn't matter). I'd like to get with my crush first (Who's gay). He told me I was friend zoned by him, but I can't help but feel there's a small chance that I can get with him still. To stubborn and persistent to just give up (Something no one should EVER do). People should come out when their most comfortable, just do it when young, so you can enjoy life and be happy with who you are.
