Fortunately for Jet and Sybil, Cairo was far away, still recovering from his burns. Before Sybil head to devil territory, she went to check on Whirlpool and Nia.
"Oh hey miss Sybil. We'ew almost done, see?" Nia greeted exitedly, showing Sybil their work. They filled a rather large hole with the tar and some sticky tree sap. All they needed to was to fill it with soft sand and dirt and then lure Shadow.
"Let me get the dirt to cover it up." Sybil said, borrowing the wagon-like thing that Whirlpool built to transport the tar. So Nia and Whirlpool stayed behind to recollect rocks and leaves that would give the signal to the three of them that the trap was there.

The dirt and sand would have to wait, since Sybil was using the wagon to recollect the grass. It was high past noon, and the Tasmanian devils were sure to wake up soon, and what was worse, Shadow was probably still on the hunt, so she collected the grass very quickly.

As she was preparing to leave the pleasant, yet dangerous place, she was terrified with her Plan B. She has always been a risk taker, but that plan was nothing like the previous ones. Getting eaten on purpose was more than a demented plan, and the problem was that she still didn't trust Jet completely. What if Jet was still secretly working for Shadow? What if she gives the grass to him and he never takes it? Or takes it too late? What if Shadow finds out about either plans? Too many thoughts own her mind, but she was willing to take the chance. Should something go wrong, she knew that Rose would take over. She had many friends to protect her and she was growing to be an intelligent, brave and strong tiger that she was proud of.

Sybil managed to reach the beach, far away and undetected from Nia and Whirlpool, who didn't suspect a thing. She was quite relieved that she didn't find Shadow on the way. Se could see Jet's damaged dorsal fin swimming around.
"Hey Jet! Here you go! I brought the grass." Sybil called, emptying the wagon.
"Well then, I should be back! I need to do something else." she explained swiftly, filling the wagon with some of the wet sand and heading quickly to the jungle to carry some dirt to mix it all up and bring it to Whirlpool. She left quickly, not wanting to raise suspicion to the wombat and young cockatoo...

After Sybil returned with the wagon full of sand and dirt, she immediately created an excuse to explain her long absence.
"Here I am. Sorry it took so long. I was trying not to get too dirty." she said.
"Don't worry miss Sybil, we understand." Nia responded, with both Whirlpool and her convinced. They were so busy with the trap that they didn't took the time to think Sybil could so such a thing.

Now the next thing was to mix the sand and dirt with the tar. The three of them then emptied the wagon in the hole, and Whirlpool, who didn't mind getting dirty, began to mix as soon as possible to avoid getting stuck. The next step was to cover the trap... and lure Shadow into it.
"Well... I suppose it's time." Sybil said, preprared to act as bait and lead Shadow there. Nia insisted that she wanted to come along, so it took a while for her to convince her to stay.

Finally with that all over, Sybil headed cautiously towards the stolen cockatoo tree. Looking up, she could see that Shadow has returned, relaxing without a care in the world. Taking a deep breath, Sybil began to make a few messes around the soil and rubbing her body against the tree, pretending that she didn't mind that Shadow was Boeing there...

But Sybil pretended that she wasn't worried at all, so she looked up to respond.
"I won't leave this time. I warned you, didn't I? that I should be back?" Sybil said scournfully, hoping to infuriate him.
"Look how pitifully pathetic you look up there! There are so many trees you could have taken, and yet you chose one that's practically a family heirloom." Sybil said, since Nia told her about how it was their home for generations.
"You just love to steal and make others miserable, don't you? Do you honestly believe you are like, king of the wilderness or something right now? Well news flash to you! The animals here are, and will always be loyal to Barloc, and he and the animals at the Haven are loyal to me alone. You will NEVER dominate anyone!" Sybil told him, continuing to make messes around the tree, not showing any fear towards Shadow at all...

Sybil backed away a little to have enough space between the two, so that if he decides to snap, she would have the time to dodge. However, what took her by surprise was that Shadow said about Jet. Was he really still working for him, or did Shadow didn't know that Jet was supposedly on her side now? If Jet was indeed still on his side, then... but she decided once again to risk it all... and trust Jet, so she quickly thought of a way to respond;
"Ah yes, Jet. Yeah, I do admit I was taken by surprise by his betrayal, but you know what? Jet is working for me now! Cairo managed to take his position as leader again and it's keeping him on the edge, so as you can see, you have nobody anymore!" Sybil mocked him, getting ready to make her getaway in a scenario very similar to that of just yesterday when she lost her chest fur...

Exactly was Sybil was expecting. She dashed away, this time avoiding contact with him.
"I've had it with you, you bully! But it doesn't matter, you will never catch me with those short claws!" Sybil mocked, running away from him. However, she never expected him to chase her so fast, so she was really hoping the trap was ready, and that he would fell for it so that she wouldn't have to go to that dreadful Plan B...

Nia, who, despite being told to stay with Whirlpool, she had persuaded him to spy on Sybil and then fly as quickly as possible to him to let him know when they were coming.
"Quickly Whirlpool, they're... on the way!" a panting Nia said, flying besides him. Although he managed to cover the hole, he didn't have the time to surround it with rocks and leaves like they planed, so Sybil was at the risk of falling though it if she didn't have the time to remember exactly where it was. Without an alternative, Nia hid, and Whirlpool dug underground, ready to signal Sybil.

When Sybil was near, Whirlpool lifted his paw and pointed with his claw where the hole was, signaling a running Sybil where the covered hole was. That was the only way for her to know. With Shadow on her tail, she jumped the hole, but at that microsecond, she was afraid that Shadow could have seen Whirlpool's paw too, therefore also alerting him that something fishy was going on...

The advantage of that mixture was that, besides that you sank, is that it was sticky.
"Keep moving and you'll sink further." Sybil warned, very happy that the trap worked. Whirlpool and Nia showed themselves, just as happy that their trap worked.
"You see Mr. Shadow? I told you we would stop you. Now mother and the others can live peacefully while you're stuck here forever." a confident Nia said, flapping her wings mockingly. Whirlpool couldn't talk at that moment. He was so relieved that Shadow didn't see his signal, or things could have gone very wrong. He was very confident that not even Shadow could get out of that sticky mess...

Sybil gave a look at Whirlpool, seeing how Shadow was probably getting free from that trap. Maybe the wombat underestimated his strength? Both Nia and Whirlpool were getting ready to retreat, just in case. Instead of Sybil doing the same as they expected, she hold her ground, trying to discouraged him as much as he could.
"You will never give it a rest, will you? Can't you see revenge doesn't solve anything? And remember, you have nobody anymore!" Sybil taunted him, praying that the trap could still work and that all that struggling would make him tired, or even sink further...

Sybil gave a quiet sigh of relief when that was paw was the only other thing he could get free.
"I'm warning you Shadow, that hole is deep, continue struggling, and you may drown." Sybil said, to discourage him and prevent him from maybe succeeding of getting out of there. She almost felt sorry for him, but he was too dangerous to keep around. Though secretly, she was very happy that she didn't need to go all the way to Plan B so far.
"Finally, we can get the tree back! Wait 'till I tell Angus!" Nia said happily. Whirlpool has never been to the Haven, so he wanted to go, but he was too dirty and wanted to clean himself up. Nia read his intentions, and decided to stay behind to help him.
"Aw well, the news can wait. Angus is safe there anyway." Nia expressed, also trusting Rose.
"Meet me at the Haven. I'm going to be there." Sybil said, heading to the beach so Jet could give her a ride...

Sybil was in a good mood, and willing to trust almost anyone. She expected Jet to be happy once she told him the news.
"Hey Jet! Jet!" she called enthusiastically, bearing the wait she had to endure to tell Rose that her idea worked.

"Yes, and thankfully, we don't have to go with that crazy plan. Shadow is taken care of." Sybil explained, hinting the trap. She was quite happy.

Halfway there, there was Barloc, who was returning to Hunted Island. He got a little sidetracked with a flock of cormorant that were emigrating.

Sybil nodded, as she climbed up to Jet's back. She was feeling a little guilty for not trusting him, so before he moved, she told him the whole truth.
"You see Jet, that... plan we talked about was a Plan B. You see, Rose had this idea of a trap for Shadow, that was the Plan A, and guess what? It actually worked! Shadow won't be causing us trouble now. Sorry I didn't told you before, but I wasn't sure if to tell you. That's why... I wanted to know how you two met." Sybil expressed, being in such a good mood that she was willing to tell Jet anything he asked.
"Oh, and about the grass, you can keep it if you want. It works even after a month of being picked. Very sturdy plant, though I should warn you, it's a little bitter." she said enthusiastically, feeling almost as knowledgable as Whirlpool.

Sybil was surprised on how naturally calmed he was with all that. Maybe he didn't care about Shadow after all.

Passing above, there was Barloc, who saw her and Jet but he was desperate to reach the island. Finally on shore, he rested on the warm sand, completely oblivious to the fact that Shadow was trapped just a few yards away...

Barloc was astounded to hear Shadow's voice so close, but when he saw him, he was both in awe and amused.
"My my, what is this? Lizard in predicament? Hah hah, I can't believe I never notice this hole before." he said, not realizing it was made.
"Talk about payback! You can't get out of that sticky mess, can't you? Well (chuckles) I hope you rot in there!" he mocked cruelly, throwing some dirt into Shadow's face. With Shadow there, that meant they could retrieve the tree once more!

As Sybil was preparing to drop off, a question suddenly struck her like lightning;
"Say Jet, when I confronted Shadow, he said that he will always have you as his servant. Does that mean he doesn't know you are not following him anymore?" she asked, not revealing what she said to Shadow at that time. That made her believe that maybe Jet was still secretly working for him, and her fear for another Jet betrayal was slowly returning...

If that was the case, then Sybil was feeling terrible when she said to Shadow that Jet wasn't working for him anymore. At least she was grateful that she made Shadow believe that Jet was enslaved rather than voluntarily helping her.
"Thank you Jet. I'll give my regards to Cairo. I'll make him treat you well." she said, giving him a nudge on the snout.

Barloc regretted throwing dirt on his face, remembering the last time he made Shadow mad. He decided not to anger him much more, yet he did try to gave him a scold.
"This is what you get for being a bully!" he rebuffed, giving him his "regards" and flying off, determined to find his daughter as soon as possible...

Barloc ignored him, trying not to feel intimidated. Very quickly, he arrived on Whirlpool's waterhole, and Nia received him with a huge hug-tackle.
"Oh father, father, you're here! Listen listen, Sybil, Whirlpool and I trapped Shadow! We filled a hole with tar, dirt and sand, and he's stuck!" Nia said ecstatic and proud, with her surprised dad still processing what he heard. Did the three of them really planned all that?

At the Haven, Sybil was reaching the forest, trying to erase all remaining doubt she had on Jet. He voluntarily gave Cairo his leadership, that was suppose to be enough, but her mind was stubbornly still having doubts.

Sybil was anxious to tell Rose the good news, but a few meters splash indicated something was wrong. She went to the source, finding to her surprise, the two orca brothers that werw always causing trouble to Cairo and the others.
"Finally miss Sybil. We've been calling for ages!" one of them said, with the other one approaching her to tell the news.
"Oh miss, there's been an emergency. A major typhoon struck last week, about a hundred miles away, and many emigrant animals are sidetracked, including many bull sharks that are near the water border." he explained, before his brother interrupted him with the rest.
"Leader Cairo is feeling better now, so he will lead us to the chase. We don't know how much it will take us, but we need to fend off these shards as soon as possible. He doesn't want Jet in the mission, but Leader Cairo said that he's willing to trust Jet if you do, so he will be the only mean of transportation you will have for a while." the younger brother concluded. Sybil thank them both before they departed.

That worried Sybil a little, but she was sure Cairo and his family would do a good, quick job. She then noticed Rose in the distance.
"Hey Rose, over here!" she called, hiding the little distress she was feeling for having the orca pod battling dangerous bull sharks and having only Jet on those waters.

Sybil took her paws and started dancing with her.
"Rose! You little genious! It worked! The trap worked! Whirlpool created this magnificent hole to trap Shadow in, and he fell for it!" Sybil said happily, almost forgetting the news she just received.

But back at Hunted Island, things were different. Although Whirlpool and Nia were happy, Barloc was not. He believed that Shadow could eventually escape from there. Trapping him was not enough for him. He wanted him dead. Only that way, he was going to be calmed. He was thinking on what to do to make it happen...

"Indeed. You are so brilliant!" Sybil praised, when she remembered the news.
"Oh, by the way, the orcas will be away for a while. Urgent business, you know. So Jet is the only one available for transportation." she let her know, hoping it won't be an object of worry.

Barloc was still pondering, and he finally had an idea. He didn't want to involve his daughter or his wombat friend, so he had to think of a way to do it alone. His idea was to drop a tree on Shadow in order to crush him, but he needed something to cut the tree. His beak wasn't going to do the trick. He needed something saw-like to do it...

"Right now?" Sybil asked, not wanting to go there again, but she didn't want Rose to be alone.
"Well... alright then. Jet! Jet, can you please come? We need you!" she called, turning to the sea. Jet just dropped her off, so he must be nearby.

Meanwhile, Barloc was still thinking on how to make a tree fall; it could be by recollecting termites, or maybe he could find a saw-like plant, anything. He didn't want to involve Whirlpool, even though he was sure he would come up with an idea considering how smart he was.

A noise could be heard nearby, but it wasn't Jet. A familiar spotted figure came out of the nearby foliage. "This trap.. it worked?!," exclaimed a surprised Sayan. "Sorry Rose, I was kinda keeping an eye on you from the distance-- just in case.," the leopard then explained. The last thing he wanted was for something to happen out of his watch.

"Oh, Sayan, it's you. Well I'm happy to inform you that Shadow isn't going to trouble us anymore. Little Rose came up with a genius plan... and it WORKED!" Sybil explained happily, aiming to tell the whole Haven.

At Hunted Island, Barloc has decided to gather termites in a few of the coconuts that Whirlpool used for the tar. It was probably going to take a while, but he was sure the termites would get the job done.

"Oh, Jet, I know you already give me a ride, but I... well, need to go to the island. Do you mind if you carry the three of us there?" Sybil kindly asked, pointing to Sayan and Rose. She thought for a few seconds wether she should tell him or not, but after a brief moment, she decided that there was no harm in it.
"By the way, Cairo and the rest of the pod are out on business, so do you think you can take care of these waters while they're gone?" she then asked, believing that it would make Jet feel important and trusted.

The gathering of termites proved to be successful, so after Barloc had two pairs of coconuts with the trapped infects, he returned to the hole where Shadow was, giving him a grin and a rather scary greeting.
"Oi there you pest! Guess what I got here?" he asked, answering before Shadow got a chance to reply.
"Oh yeah, a bunch of angry termites. And see this tree? I'm going to let the termites go to gnaw this tree until it crushes you! If it doesn't do that, then at least it will make you lower you head, drowning you in that mess!" Barloc said coldly, making it very clear that a trapped Shadow wasn't enough for him. He wanted him dead! In his mind, a dead predator was far much better than a trapped predator.

Sybil climbed on, and decided to close her eyes for a while to feel the breeze. It was extremely quiet with the orca pod gone, but she was certain it wasn't nothing to worry about. Orcas are stronger than sharks after all.

The termites began to gnaw at the tree, with Barloc blocking the ups and downs of the tree so they would remain in a single place. But there was barely any movement, and Barloc wasn't the patient type. Termites could tear up a tree, but it was going to take quite a long while. Now Barloc was wishing he had something that resembled a saw to break that tree.

"He's right over there, to your right. Just at the edge of the jungle. You can see him from the shore." Sybil answered, though not sure how things would turn out.

Barloc didn't noticed them. He was too angry by the way the termites he gathered with so much effort began to scatter around the tree trunk, even when he tried to block them. They were no use at all.
"Oh you'll see! I'll take down this tree!" He angrily said to the quiet Shadow, storming off. He was certain there must have been a leaf, a plant, anything that could be used to cut a tree.
