Mitus shakes his head.
"Because he reminds me of father, who died in front of our eyes, trying to keep us safe from the other cursed pack on this mountain." He growls. "I don't want Cypher to be like that. Father fought too much. I..." Mitus' voice choked. "Don't want Cypher to die." He whimpers.

Jay nods "why don't you tell him, maybe he'll listen" Jay said sympathetically.

Mitus sees his sudden weakness and sharpens again, becoming alert once again.
"He won't listen!" He snaps. "He's too much like father. He thinks he gotta protect everyone but himself!"

Jay nods "I know someone like that. Almost got herself killed, multiple times." Jay said, seeing Jake in the distance.

Mitus growls.
"And who's that?"

"Me" Jay said padding to Cypher

Mitus stops, blinking in surprise, before running to Cypher.

Daniel looks at Mitus.
"You ready to help?"

Mitus morphs to human form and nods.

Daniel nods and the two begin chanting.

Jay morphs to human form, and leans on a tree nearby as she watches

Cypher's wounds start healing. When the chanting is done, Cypher's eyes blink open.

A tear rolls down Mitus' cheek, and when Cypher sits up, Mitus grabs his brother in a hug.

Cypher blinks in surprise.
"Mitus-"

"Don't think you gotta protect everyone on your own, alright?!" Mitus sobs. "You gotta care about yourself!" he sniffs.

Cypher smiles sympathetically and holds his younger brother close.
"I understand." he says softly.

Jay smiles. "So touching" She said, walking to Xander.

OOC: Hmmm...so Mitus CAN be soft sometimes.

Xander lies very still, you can't even tell that he's breathing for it's very shallow. Xander opens his eyes, but even that takes a lot of effort.
"J-jay?" he whispers, which is all he can manage in his state.

OOC: Yep

A tear falls as Jay lightly caresses Xander's face within her hands

Xander closes his eyes a little.
"I'm sorry Jay. I can't protect you very well." he whimpers.

"It's fine. I didn't protect you well enough. I failed" Jay says, closing her eyes

Xander shakes his head weakly.
"No. You shouldn't blame yourself. I need to be...stronger..." he says, drifting from consciousness.

OOC: Going back to work! Be on soon!

"No, I'm the one at fault. I got over-protective, and almost got both of us killed" Jay said softly, wiping a tear from her cheek

OOC: Good luck!

OOC: All done!

Xander winces a bit in pain.
"That's not true."

OOC: Awesome ^.^

"Yes it is" Jay said with a sigh

Xander shakes his head and coughs suddenly.
"No! It's not!" he cries. "Please, don't blame yourself!"

"Xander, It is my fault. My fault you're like this. If I hadn't jumped into the battle, you might've been fine" Jay said with a sigh

Xander's sudden outburst has him in a coughing fit. When he recovers, he looks even more frail and weak.
"It's *cough* not your *cough* fault."

Daniel walks to the two, shaking his head.
"You brought that illness back."

"See? It is my fault." Jay said, running off in tears.

"Jay! Wait!" Jake calls out

Xander struggles to his feet, only to fall to his knees coughing.

"You can't chase her. You're too weak." Daniel growls.

Xander nods weakly.
"Please Jake. Can you bring her back?" he pleads.

Jake nods "I'll do my best" He says, running in the direction of Jay

Jay stops running when she reaches a nearby cliff. She sits on the edge.

Daniel leans Xander against a tree.
"Xander can't recover if Jay doesn't come back! Please tell Jay that!" Daniel calls to Jake.

Jake nods as he reaches Jay. "Jay, please come back. Xander can't recover if you don't return" Jake says, walking to Jay.

Jay looks to Jake, her face red from crying

Mitus stands.
"I owe the girl. I'll go help." he growls, and he follows the direction Jake and Jay went.

Cypher smiles.

"Jay please come back" Jake pleaded

"I'll just ruin everything again" Jay said shaking her head

"You aren't ruining anything. Xander needs you or he's gonna die." says Mitus, padding from the trees in his sandy furred wolf form.

Jay is confused at the site of Mitus, and has a look of confusion in her eyes. "But why does he need me?" Jay said in a sad tone

Mitus catches Jay's confused look and smiles.
"I owe you." he says. He then frowns. "Xander needs you because he loves you. He cares about you. You're the only person that can help him. Have you not figured out that he'll die if he knows that he died protecting you?"

"I'll help." Jay says with a nod. She stands and wipes her tears, but her eyes remain red from her countless tears.

Mitus nods and smiles.
"That's the way. Come on, we don't have much time."

Jay nods, beginning to walk in the direction of Xander. "Mitus.. Thanks. You too Jake" Jay says

Mitus' mouth is a tight line.
"No problem. I just...owed you one." he growls.

"Why'd you owe me one?" Jay asks as she walked

Mitus stopped and looked at Jay.
"Because...you helped me with my bond with Cypher. I used to hate him. You helped me see what a great brother he is."

"Oh.. I didn't realize I helped... I'm glad you two are good now" Jay said, looking back towards Mitus

"Yeah, yeah." Mitus says and the group reaches where Daniel is saying small chants to keep Xander breathing.

Jay walks to Xander and places his hand in hers.

Xander opens his eyes and smiles.
"Jay." he says.

Daniel nods his head.
"You're back. Good. You ready to help? It's hard to just keep him breathing."

Jay nods "I'm ready" She says in a soft voice

Daniel nods. He places Jay's hand on Xander's shoulder and begins chanting with her.

Jay chants alongside Daniel as she looks at Xander.

Xander's breathing as well as his cough, improves. His wounds begin to heal as well. When the chanting is finished, Xander grasps Jay in a hug, resting his head against hers.

Jay smiles she hugs Xander "Sorry" She says in a soft voice

Xander smiles, tears rolling down his cheeks.
"You don't need to be. I should say sorry."

"Now why should you be sorry" Jay asks with a small chuckle

Xander sniffles a little.
"Because I've brought you so much trouble. I'm always getting injured, or hiding sickness from you." Xander's head drooped. "I'm useless. I'm not worthy to be with you. You deserve someone better."

"Don't say that, Xander. I love you, and don't care about your flaws. I have many of my own flaws" Jay says in a soft voice
