Spider-Man: Far From Home

I wouldn't really say it was better than Homecoming, as it had some really weird pacing issues in the first act, but once it got going, it didn't let up. Overall, a really good film, and a very good addition to the MCU!
Also Mysterio's illusions were excellent. I didn't really like him as a "hero" but he was excellent as a villain. When he's taunting Spidey in Germany? With the zombie Iron Man and the glass shards, and the "you're just a scared kid in a sweatsuit"? Oof, my favorite sequence in the MCU to date.

Now that you mention it... MASSIVE SPOILERS FROM OTHER MOVIES AHEAD.
Is it me, or has Spider-Man be the superhero that has suffered the most? Assuming uncle Ben existed in the MCU, he lost him. He faces his first villain, who on top of that is the father of the girl he was going out with. And then afterwards he literally dies and returns to a world he doesn't know anymore. And then mere minutes later, he loses his second father figure. He dies right in front of him. And then comes his second mayor villain, who pretends to be a hero and manipulates his innocent mind. And when his colors are revealed, not only does Mysterio wants him dead, he wants to psychologically torment him. Killing him isn't enough. He wants to destroy his mind too. And was that enough? NO. Mysterio made sure to make Spider-Man look like a villain who killed him, and a top of that, exposes his identity to the ENTIRE world!

In other words;
This Spider-Man has gone through some deep crap. And we're talking about a teenager here smilie

The only good thing was that Elizabeth Moss was in it.

I don't know why I get dragged into watching horror movies with other people, they are not very good most of the time.

Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling

I didn't grow up with the show, but did enjoy a fair few episodes a few years ago. Overall, I thought the movie itself was pretty good! Everything felt pretty natural and believable from what I knew of the characters. My one complaint was that Conglom-O's hiring of foreign people to computer animate a cartoon just for it to turn out awful felt like partially unfounded satire. I know that can happen with reboots fairly often, but there's nothing at all wrong with computer animation, foreign people creating a show, or both. Computer animators often have just as much passion for their project as ones who do it by hand, and I felt like because of that, the subplot missed the mark. Other than that, it was a very good continuation to the series!

Eh, I liked it over all -- but even I am starting to see some of the cracks showing in the writing.

It had some pretty great tunes, though. And I was happy to see more of Peridot, Lapis, and Bismuth.

Overall, I really agree with this. I thought Spinel was an awesome villain, and Steg was cool as hell, but there were deffinitely some cracks in the writing. A solid 7/10 imo

Invader Zim: Enter The Florpus.

There were so many ways they could have absolutely bungled it, but I think they did really well in keeping the general feel of the original show. Overall very good, like a 9/10 I'd say. Professor Membrane was an awesome character.

I finally watched Shazam! God damn this is working with your weaknesses. If the action and effects weren't going to be too good, might as well have humor that rivals a lot of good Vines, though that kind of stuff isn't for everyone. But it worked for me!

Ending gag REALLY got me, holy crap.

Alita: Battle Angel

It was fun enough, though some character actions and lore don't add up and it REALLY starts stretching the definition of reasonable movie time by the end, it had like 3 different areas it could've cut at. Funnily enough Alita wasn't as uncanny valley as I though she'd be, the movements were very fluid.

Watched Spiderman far from home. While I kinda don't care about Holland's Spiderman, Mysterio was great in this movie. exactly what I wanted with his scenes and they made flash super redeeming at the end. Why is nobody talking about that btw. It's super sad and explains his character. End swing scene was perfect and is what the last movie needed. In fact every Spiderman movie needs a swing around the city scene. solid movie with one of the best mid credit scenes ever

Bumblebee was pretty good. Hailee Steinfeld was super cute. John Cena playing the 80s bad guy was great. Good dialogue from the characters with Cena having funny one liners and dead pan delivery. Had a lot of heart and had a better version of person and an alien car than the first bay one

Agreed. I'm also kind of upset no one's talking about it, because it added a lot more depth to his character than just being a bully.

Super
I'm gonna guess gotg had a lot of cameos because of this movie. Rainn Wilson plays his role as weirdo as perfectly as you think he can. Imagine dwight. Yeah he just plays Dwight. Ellen page playing a cute psycho chick is like the best thing ever until this movie turned me off from her completely. But yeah Ellen page is the best character in this movie.

Very stylish movie with a very uncomfortable scene and a dark final act. I liked it but kick ass is the better movie of realistic superhero. Not for most people. This was made when Gunn had his Twitter humor so if you like dark comedy this movie is pretty good. Super tropes that were explored were great and an ending that was quite beautiful.

Shazam

Wow this was pretty fun. Billy is like ripped straight from the comics and is actually perfect. like the perfect superhero movie. Fun all throughout, enough action but not too much where it just drags on, and really has no weakness. It's not revolutionary but it is pretty self aware and that's what makes it great.

IT Chapter Two

It's a lot better than the original; in the original, I didn't mind the first half of it with them being young, but when it went to them being older, that's when it get's a bit crappy IMO.

But some of the scenes that are meant to be scary, just made me laugh, even in the first chapter, I get that Pennywise is a dancing clown, but it just makes me laugh when he does that.

Klaus.

Love love LOVE the movie. Animation so good, characters so well made, story so nice to reframe the good ol' bad christmas movies into something great. It had tons of potential to fall into easy answers and denied all of them.

I LOVE that neither main character are in the right or are playing Liar Revealed. Jesper genuinely cares as the story progresses and doesn't let power get to his head for long, but he doesn't settle boundaries and people just assume he's two faced for it. Klaus doesn't appreciate him enough and hides things, so when something drives a rift, he doesn't communicate well.

The villains don't learn the meaning of Christmas, they seethe in how others did and most likely die spiteful with no legacy, which is WAY more realistic.

The romantic sideplot is just that, a sideplot, and at no point it stops the story in its tracks; in fact Jesper and Alva just get together and they spend all of 10 seconds estabilishing that and it's great.

The deliverer of the Liar Revealed isn't this apathetic person, Jesper's father just didn't hear any of the story and immediately backpedals once he learns what actually happened.

Funny though. I thought the first chapter was better. It had more suspense. More jump scares. The second chapter was bloodier, but a bit more strange.

Zombieland: Double Tap

I'd only seen bits and pieces of the first one over the course of the past decade, so I kiiiiind of understood what was going on. That being said, it was a pretty funny movie. Not my favorite by any means, but when it had moments, it really stood out. I'd probably give it a 6.5/10

UPDATE:

Also saw Hobbs and Shaw.
I wasn't very impressed. It was definitely mostly a star vehicle for the two leads, but the supporting cast was so amazing, I felt like they were completely wasted, ESPECIALLY Ryan Reynolds. The banter was funny, and the sequence in Samoa was pretty cool, but other than that, it was really forgettable. Probably like a 3/10.

Gemini Man

Not as bad as Folding Ideas made it out to be! Actual eyeburn visuals however so I spent a lot of time just listening and not actually watching. Reality is unrealistic so movies and shows for the love of god stop making night scenes complete darkness, and stop putting saturated filters over daytime scenes.

Oh yeah and the terminator-like clone at the end was an anime fight, but I did like that at the end it wasn't a clone of the villain to close in on the cartoonish plans, and they indeed did not act nicely afterwards.

That indie movie about the space hedgehog was pretty cool.

Every single one of those laid off artists is a hero, and there should be serious retribution. From hellspawn to he’s babey. There’s so many cute moments. It’s an average film, but it didn’t really need to be revolutionary or anything. It’s Sonic the Hedgehog, and he goes fast. He also has mental breakdowns and is soul-crushingly lonely! Ben Schwartz’ Sonic was fun and didn’t come off as too annoying, unlike Ryan Renolds’ Pikachu. And it makes since for him to be obnoxious anyway—they state several times that he’s a kid. To quote Donut Lord, he’s a weird little dude, indeed.

Just saw Birds of Prey.

It was awesome. Maggot Robbie's performance is great once again except now she's able to do it in a good movie. Ewan McGregor is a riot as Black Mask and feels like a throwback to when he was in Moulin Rouge. Mary Elizabeth Winstead is such as badass and her fight scenes just reduces me to jelly. The intro was pretty cute and the action is solid. Definitely a lot like Deadpool. I just don't understand why YouTubers are trying to say Birds of Prey is a bad movie, how it's a financial failure and why they want to pit it with Sonic when they claim to be DC fanboys unless they were just bigoted bad faith actors.

Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution

Good animation, definitely a nostalgia trip, but going back to rewatch it reminds me how weak the plot of many Pokemon movies are. Some good writing, Pikachu's VA did some god tier work with Ash's death, and Mewtwo's line about what you do with life will always be iconic, but I can't help but feel something was missing. Also as much as I loved the visuals, the original had a lot more power to it imo.

5/10, good if you're a hardcore Pokemon fan that loved the original or a young kid interested in the series.
