i can see why an xbox one all digital exist (digitals sale more). but its about 50 dollars too expensive. i think a roku/firestick/apple tv/chromecast/any other tv streaming thingys that can play games is quite marketable and unique.

I feel that the problem of also not being able to play any physical games one may already own and having to essentially repurchase them is also kind of bad. Not to mention that, without internet, the console is basically a brick. :/

why would anyone buy an xbox sad when they already own an xbox to play physical games on? nobody with an xbox and a collection of games are gonna buy the xbox sad. this console is made to cater towards people who dont own an xbox yet and are looking for a cheaper option. its not really made for people who buy games physically but people who are more likely to buy steam games than go to gamestop. again its not made for people without internet (which is like 10% of the us)

Unfortunately it appears that is where gaming is headed. everything is becoming more digitalized and while we still might be a few years away, i could definitely see all-digital gaming becoming the norm. It's already happened with viable platforms like PC and the superior tablet gaming marketplace.

That's why I said "at this point in time". :/

But we already have two or three viable ones right now (if you consider PC and console). I miss the days of full color game manuals, soon my precious boxes will disappear as well ;-;

PC is in its own ballpark and doesn't count, imo. Digital-only consoles aren't viable for the time being. (And, in all honesty, I feel that's about the point where consoles will become completely obsolete in favor of PC)

Nintendo will be in their own ballpark as well with the New Nintendo Switch U XL Mini by that point. Hopefully they keep making consoles, they're the ones that stand out the most and truly offer a unique experience. PS4, Xbox, and PC all have the same stuff minus a few exclusives and the PC having a wider library (plus better controls for FPS games yeet)

...For the first 3 years before it plummeted in sales. (And that's not even touching on the Wii's motion controls or lack of HD)

The Switch possess more longevity than the Wii U for sure, but that isn't saying much either to be fair. :/

Despite those drawbacks, it still became their best selling home console and sold more than the 360 and PS3 during it's lifetime (which I believe was shorter than both of those consoles, though I'm not 100% positive about that). Nintendo's major strength has always been in it's software, and the Switch is doing very good in that respect. Not to mention their idea of making a hybrid system is something that really appeals to a lot of people. The 3DS had amazing sales and it seems Nintendo will be integrating their 3DS series into the Nintendo Switch library which will add to the longevity of the system since all of the Pokemon and Fire Emblem fans have to buy the new system to continue playing their favorite handheld series.

Most of the Taco Bell's here in Ontario are combine with KFC and I can never decide if I want 10 tacos or a bucket of chicken, so I always end up buying both for myself. I will surely live a long life.

I didn't know we were debating xD i was just pointing out the Nintendo sales figures for the Wii. I think all consoles will be phased out in favor of tablet gaming soon anyway.

Sakurai liked the game's aesthetic so much he ditched the boring-looking ingame location and just made its map the stage, it's good though it has some flaws

This is pretty much me with almost any franchise. Before playing Brawl I've only ever played Mario and Sonic, Smash made me interested in all of those other franchises.

I think it might be because in my opinion, Persona is one of the least fun Megami Tensei games yet it's the most popular in the west. I still love Persona, but I just think most other MT games are better.
