Shadow began to think.

Shana and Lucio sat on the ground and Shana leaned against a tree.

Matilda lay panting, exhaustion taking over.

Shadow got up and walked around.

Matilda struggled to her feet and began walking. She walked by Shadow.

Shadow nodded at Matilda.

Matilda nodded tiredly to Shadow. She didn't get very far from him before she crumpled to the ground in pain and exhaustion.

Shadow saw Matilda fall , he walked over to her.

Matilda had knocked out. She was covered in cuts and ached all over. Morphing into her cold side was never good.

Shadow picked Matilda up and brought her to the others.

Lucio saw Shadow and his sister. He stood and ran to them.
"What happened to her?" he asked worriedly.

Shana watched the two.

Shadow placed Matilda on the ground "She morphed as you may know." Shadow said starting to walk back the stump he was at.

Shana watched Shadow. She wanted to talk to him, but he was upset so instead she just watched him.

Lucio bent to look at the cuts on his sister. He sighed, then hugged her.

Matilda blinked awake and hugged her brother back.

Shadow was deep in thought and was thinking about his family.

Matilda noticed her brother's injured arm.
"Did I injure you Lucio?" she said sadly.

Lucio nodded.

Matilda wiped a tear running down her cheek. At this rate, she might kill someone and she couldn't stop her other side.
"Lucio. You need to travel with Shana. I must travel alone. I don't want to injure anyone else." she cried. She stood painfully and walked away.

Shana clenched Lucio's hand and squeezed it.

As Matilda walked by Shadow, she put her hand on his shoulder.
"Take of my brother please? I have to leave him. For his own good. For everyone's good." she said sadly and she walked off.

Shadow looked at Matilda "But we need you!" He said.

Matilda stopped and looked at him.
"Do you really need me? If you truly do, then I'll stay. I'm just worried for everyone's safety." she said.

"Well you kinda are our safety." Shadow said.

Matilda smiled at Shadow.
"If you mean it, alright. I'll stay." she said. She walked to Shadow and sat down beside him.

"Great." Shadow said nodding.

Matilda smiled.
"So what are you sitting here thinking for?" she asked.

"I trying to get something straight." Shadow said.

"What's that?" asked Matilda.

"My family." Shadow said thoughtfully.

"What about them?" Matilda asked curiously.

"The Times I've had with them." Shadow said.

"Ah. I see. I was 7 when my parents died so I wouldn't remember much of them. Neither does Lucio." said Matilda.

"I remember very little." Shadow said.

"We are the same." said Matilda.

"I guess." Shadow said shrugging.

Matilda looked at Shadow.
"How....How was your family killed?" she asked.

"A fire..." Shadow muttered.

"Same for my parents, except it was during the fire they were assassinated." said Matilda.

"Ah." Shadow said.

"Yeah..." Said Matilda. She was beginning to cry. "I don't talk about it much and I bet you don't either." She sniffed.

A tear ran down Shadow's face as he nodded.

"Good god. We're both crying. Ought to cheer up now before we make the ten year olds cry too, don't you think?" Said Matilda.

Shadow chuckled a little and nodded.

Matilda smiled.

Shana ran over to Shadow and leapt on his back with a smile.

Lucio came and gave his sister a hug.

Shadow laughed.

Shana smiled and laughed as well.
"You're the best. Almost like an older brother you know?" She said with a smile.

"And you're like a little sister." Shadow said.

Shana smiled.
"I like having you as my brother. You're funny and cool. You must think I'm pretty annoying, right?" She teased.

"Sometimes." Shadow joked.

Shana smiled and grinned.
"I thought so." She said.

Shadow chuckled.

Lucio sat with a sigh on the ground.

Shana smiled and hugged Shadow again.
"I'm going to call you my older brother from now on." she said happily.

Matilda smiled.

"I'll call you my little sister." Shadow said smiling.

Shana smiled.
"I like the sound of that." she said.

Shadow smiled and nodded.

Mariks eyes opened, pure white in color
