He was getting older and weaker, hence why his healing factor was failing him, which is why the tree branch, ya know, that went through his body, killed him.

I'm thinking of trying something for my next Fallout playthrough, and I'd appreciate it if someone gave their opinion on whether it is any good or not.

While looking at the timeline for the games, I was surprised to find that New Vegas actually takes place AFTER 4 - about 7 years after, iirc.

Now, I really like my character in Fallout 4 (enough to even do some writing about him), so could I possibly play as that character in New Vegas, and kind of continue his adventure? Would it be possible for me to say that after the events of 4, he went on to the Mojave?

Kind of a weird question, but any opinions would be great.
