Firefly sighed.
"well, you guys know i'm an Empath, right? that my power is to sense emotions and channel the powers of others, right? well, i can channel my own into power as well. power that is very destructive and could get me killed, not to mention others around me. depending on the emotion i feel, i can have diffrent elemental powers. anger causes fire, sadness causes water, happiness and hyperness causes electricity, courage causes earth, etc. anyway, from these powers, i can use powerful, destructive furies, that grow stronger the stronger the emotion is. this is how my ancestors defeated thier enemies, through thier furies, with often led to thier own death, as well as the destruction of everything around them. now they had elements as well as Empathy, and Empathy was used as a last resort, mainly. i just have Empathy. i have no other powers. i need my emotions to fight, but i also fear what too much feeling can do, and i don't want to hurt anyone..." she muttered, lowering her head, sadly, at the end.

Aretis listened quietly. "So much power...so much hidden talent...so much potential....perhaps too much. We could defeat all the evil, all the darkness in this world...at the cost of our sanity...the cost of something I'm not willing to pay...I-I don't know...why...why..." Aretis slowly said as if in a trance. Tears were still streaming down his cheeks, but Aretis looked almost peaceful in his sadness.

"Guys relax.....if we fight together and keep our sanity in check I think we'll be alright. " He said to the others, while putting a wing over firefly trying to comfort her.

Firefly looked at Tundra and cracked a small smile.
"don't worry, guys, i'll help keep everybody in line. who better to help keep control than someone who can almost willingly and freely walk on the dark side." Rouge said. Slean sighed.
"a trickster keeping everyone in line? i feel sorry for all of you." she said, in her usual calm voice, yet with a slight joking tone.

"Hehehe. yeah alright yeah. The trickster or the prince alright sure....Mom but I have a question is there a way to get rid of this curse i got with my scar?" he asked her.

"hmm, i'm not sure. there could perhaps be a cure in one of these books. there are very many here, and even i haven't read them all."she answered.
"so, back to the endless maze of books we go?" Rouge asked.
"looks like it." Firefly said.

"Well if you guys don't want to, I can search on my own." He told them as he knew they didn't want too.

"alright, fine." Rouge grinned.
"nonsense, Tundra, we'll help. won't we, girls?" Slean said. Rouge sighed.
"yes, Mom."
"yeah, we'll help." Firefly said.

Aretis sighed and exited the library, exploring along the caves at a casual pace.

Rouge and Firefly split up, and started looking through books. Slean looked at a seperate bookself.

Aretis found himself at a dead end. He sighed and curled himself up there.

Tundra smiled at his friends and family and looked for some books as he looked around to see where aretis went. "uhhh where's aretis?"

Aretis cried as he battled the painful memories away. No...don't think...Augh...no...MOTHER his mind screamed. His body went rigid.

"Um guys I'll be right back.... Let me go find him alright." He said as he walked thru his moms castle.

Aretis slashed at the rock wall of the dead end, his claws making a sharp Ping! Aretis shook with convulsions.

Tundra heard the pinging noises and ran towards where he heard them. Soon he found aretis laying on the ground making those noises. "Aretis!!!"

Aretis balled his claws. "No! Stop it!" He cried out from the torment.

"Aretis!!!" he called out to him as he tried to shake him awake.

Aretis's eyes flashed open. "T-Tundra?" He asked fearfully, his eyes red with tears.

"Aretis? Whats happening? why are you crying?" he asked worried

"Mother....M-My mother is d-dead..." Aretis wailed, nuzzling Tundra for comfort.

Tundra looked down at him and was surprised for abit but just nuzzled him back to comfort him back. "Im sorry aretis.... I really am...."

Slean and the girls continued looking through books, not knowing what was going on elsewhere.

Aretis cried. "I couldn't protect her..." He said sorrowfully.

"Its alright aretis......its not your fault. Unfortunatly things happen that are out of our control...." He said trying to comfort him.

Aretis just sobbed. He settled down after a while, to muffled crying and sniffing.

"aretis relax, your not alone anylonger." He told him as he looked down at the young dragon.

Aretis nodded. He whimpered and curled himself up.

"come on, lets go back to the book room, dont make yourself be alone by curling yourself alone in a dark corner."

Aretis nodded and got up shakily, looking as if he was about to fall. "I-I'm sorry..." He said weakly, with a hint of embarrassment.

"Its alright, but being sad about it wont bring her back. Keep in mind she wouldnt want to see you sad and morning for her right?" he asked him as he guided him while he walked.

Aretis nodded with little enthusiasm. "Mm..." He sighed.

"Plus your friends including me care about you too aretis dont you forget that either." He said smiling at him.

Aretis looked up at the bigger blue dragon beside him. He met his eyes and gave a weak smile before shyly ducking down and staring at his paws.

"Come on aretis, cheer up. If anyone should be truely sad too its me. I have a curse that might be with me for life......" He said as he looked aretis trying to look cheerful for him.

Slean and the girls continued looking through books.
"is this it?" Firefly asked.
"uh huh." Rouge shook her head.
"how about this one?"
"nope."
"this one?"
"nah."
"ok, what about this one?"
"no."
"um, ok, this one? or maybe this one? or maybe its this one?"
"zip. zilch. nada. none." she answered. Firefly sighed.
"then where is it?" she asked.
"i don't know. but i'll know it when i see it." Rouge replied.

Aretis sighed. "I would...if my whole dragon race weren't all ghosts..." He muttered.

"aretis..... but i highly doubt your the last light dragon around." He told him as he walked to the library seeing the others still looking.

"ok, what about this one?" Firefly asked.
"uh huh." Rouge shook her head. Slean glanced over.
"could you girls possibly search in silence?" she asked.
"sorry." they both said.

Aretis looked around wondering what help he could be.

"Aretis, please try to cheer up, I need your help right now. I got to learn how to take this forsaken scar off of me before i do something stupid..... and turn into my mom hehe." He said jokingly.

Aretis ducked shyly. "Uh, ok." He quietly padded over to one of the bookshelves and began searching.

Firefly and Rouge continued looking, muttering to each other as they searched. Slean looked quietly.

Aretis sighed and sat down.

"Man I cant find anything! This is getting quite frustrating...." Tundra said as he looked at the bookshelf he was looking at.

Aretis muttered. "Yeah..."

the girls continued looking. Rouge was accidently dropping books on top of Firefly.
"hey!" Firefly snarled slightly. Rouge looked down at her as she hovered in the air.
"oops, sorry, red, didn't mean to bomb-bard you with books." she chuckled lightly.
"well, just watch it next time." she said, before walking off to a diffrent shelf.

Aretis sighed and sat still in the corner of the library.

Tundra looked at him and sighed as he looked at rouge and firefly arguing for abit. "Well I think this is taking way...too long guys......mom dont you know of a way to get rid of this curse, since well you know about this kind of stuff?"


OOC: what rp dragon outcast? and cyn09, when are you gonna continue your story?

ooc: It's called Last Stand of the Dragons. It's already started, but it shouldn't be too hard to pick up the pace. We haven't really done much.
