"well, i was there, and it's not as intresting as it seems. my friends just keep talking about some dragon. they act like he's really bad, but they havn't given me a good reason as to why they think that."

'I heard..'

"you heard that, huh? well, i don't know anything about him. i've never even heard of him. then again, i spend all my time in the water, so i don't know much."

'Great guy..' She simply replied.

"i've heard otherwise. but still, no one has given me proof of anything. i won't judge my opioin of this guy based on what others say."

'Oh good, want to meet him then? I need to give him some stuff anyway..'

"meet him? well, my friends may dislike that, but i don't mind. i'd like to meet this guy that everyone keeps mentioning." he said. Fire and Star gasped. Marina started to walk out there, but Star held her back.

'Come on then, I'll show you.' She smiled, walking out, waiting for him.

Merrick smiled, and followed her. Starfire continued holding Marina back. she looked at Fire to get Star to let go, but Fire sat quietly.

Gabb flew upwards.

Merrick did the same. Marina freed herself from Starfire's grasp, and ran outside. Star and Fireflight ran after her. they then grabbed her, and held her back.
"let me go!" she shouted.
"no! if he want's to go, then he's on his own!" Star shouted back. Merrick glanced down at the scene.
"Merrick! come help me!" Marina yelled. Merrick then turned away. Marina stopped struggeling, and then she was taken back inside the cave.

Gabb looked before flying off

Merrick looked back. he wondered if he should go back for Marina. he then shrugged, and flew after Gabb.

Gabb saw and continued flying on until reaching an new cave. She landed and walked in.

Merrick follwed, and soon landed. he seemed hesistant at first, but he walked inside.

Gabb told him to wait while she walked into a different room. Zenith heard someone and walked in. He looked to Merrick.
'And, who are you?'

"uh, my name is Merrick. Gabb brought me here to meet you."

'Did she now?'
'Yes, i did. He said he wanted to meet you.' Zenith looked to Gabb and then back to Merrick.

"she's right. i did want to meet you. i heard some things about you. my friends mentioned you. but they didn't say too much. i'm sure you'll reconize the names Fireflight and Starfire. they acted as if you were evil or something. but i wanted to see for myself. i mean, they gave me no information or proof that you might be evil."

'Ahh... I see.' He turned to Gabb. 'Did you get what I asked for?' She nodded. Zenith looked to Merrick.
'And how do you know those two girls?'

"i just met them actually. another friend of mine, that i've known for a long time, introduced us. her name is Marina."

'I see... No wonder they lie about me.' He said, tutting and rolling his eyes, trying to make Merrick distrust them.

"lie?" Merrick asked. "why do you think they'd do that? i mean, what purpose would they have to lie to me? we barely know each other."

'Exactly, manipulate you into thinking I'm evil so you side with them all the time. So they say I'm evil, corrupted... Eh, just don't like me.'

"i don't see why they would make me side with them. i mean, all they were doing was talking, and helping some dragon that had been hurt."

'Maybe so, but when i came up, the lies spilled no? They want you against me just because they can.'

"they did seem pretty anxious and cautious after we heard someone outside. then Star said something that she thought she knew who it was. i kept asking until she mentioned you, and she and her mom kept saying you were bad, but they never gave any reasons for it. they just looked at each other like they had to think about it first. and Marina didn't say anything. she didn't know any more than i did. i mean, we both spend a lot of time in the water. i spend almost all my time in the water. i don't know what goes on in the world. then i end up introduced to some paranoid dragons. now Marina is stuck with them."

'Yes, typical. Lies. If they say stuff like it, don't believe them.'

"well, they couldn't come up with any proof of you being evil. and you don't seem evil at all. why they think you could be bad is beyond me."

ooc: i gotta go. bye.

'See? No evidence, no proof, just a rumor.'

"yeah, a bad one. i didn't believe them for a moment. crazy dragons. think they can trick this water dragon into believing a lie. well, they can't. i may rarely leave the water and know very little about the world, but i'm not easily tricked into believing lies, especially when little to no proof is given."

OOC: Hi, won't be on long. Burning a CD and bed.

'Exactly.. Then again, what else do they lie about? Think about it... They already lied to you about me, what else have they lied?

"hmm....." Merrick thought for a moment. "well, Starfire mentioned some guy named Comet. she said he was a silver dragon. she also said they knew each other like thier whole lives."

He listened.
'What about that injured guy?'

"i think they mentiond his name.............uh.........Nightfire, i think it was.........they didn't talk about him much. me and Marina asked what happened, but they said they didn't know."

'Again, mayb ethey do know...'

"maybe......Star didn't seem to want to talk about it......."

'Hmm..'

*whistles*

"they seemed.......secretive......at times......."

'Don't they just? Wonder if they're hiding something..'

"maybe they are.......they didn't seem to be telling me everything.....i mean, for starters, they think you're evil, and they hardly talked about Nightfire at all. plus, Star just randomly mentions some guy named Comet, who i have yet to see. i mean, what are these crazy dragons up to?"

'I don't know... manipulation?'

"it's possible......." he muttered. he then began to wonder. he seemed to believe that they really were up to something. "......but why would they lie to me....? why say you're evil......? why hide certain information.....? are they hiding something.......bad.......?" he thought. "......maybe......this is a wild guess.......but maybe.......they're the bad ones here.......they seem supicious enough........"

'Of course. Blame the good for the bad, hide the truth behind the doors.' He said, sitting. 'Now the qeustion is, do you even trust them to be near you or your friend/girl-friend.'

Merrick thought for a moment.
"Marina is still back there.......she tried to come with me.......but they held her back......." he muttered. "no." he said. "i don't trust them to be near me, and i'm going to get Marina away from them." he said, standing up, with a determined expression on his face.

'I'd be wary f=of what they'd do... By the way. When you go back to get her, act normal, act like evrything is ok, and when you go to take her out, they'll ask why. Say nothing of me, what I've said. Say Gabb told you something and that you want to talk to Marina alone. It'd get you out hopefully.'

"all right. thanks for the tip." he said. then he walked out of the cave, and flew back to the others.

He watched until Merrick couldn't see or hear him. He smirked and chuckled.
'Oh this is gonna be fun..'

Merrick soon arrived back at the cave. Starfire and Fireflight were laying down peacefully by Nightfire. they appeared to be asleep. Marina was nowhere to be seen.
"what did they do with her.....?" he thought, worriedly. then he heard footsteps behind him. he turned around to see Marina. "are you ok?" he whispered.
"yeah. why wouldn't i be?" she asked, curiously.
"shh! keep your voice down!" he whispered.
"what's going on?" she whispered.
"i talked to Gabb, the dragoness who was spying on us, i need to talk to you privately."
"why? is something wrong?"
"walk with me slowly and casually. act natural." he whispered. he then started to walk away. Marina followed, wondering what was going on. little did they know that Fireflight and Starfire wern't alseep, and had been watching and listening to them. once Merrick and Marina walked a good distance away, they silently followed them.
