Crocux picked up the lizerds he cought and fallowed Sholeh. once he cought up with her he set the lizerds down in front of her and left her be. mean while it was slow going at Sholeh's tree but Shi wanted to help him seeing that he wanted to make amends and did just that. as they worked Shi asked him a few questions "why do you say that was the second time someone knew your name?" Jr work saying "that cobra you called Guardian knew my name as well. He must have confused me with my dad." Shi was surpized at this "why do you say that?" Jr shrugged saying "well my mother said my dad had a weird family. If i remember correctly she said he had a croc and a moniter as brothers and a human with snake skine for a father before he died. that and she said i look just like my father in every way. Name's Terrence, Terrence Jr." Shi smiled saying "I'm Shilise." she thought about if for a minute then made the connection "wait! I know your dad!" he looked at her suprized "you do?" Shi says "well knew of him. Crocux says that a Mongoose named Terrence saved his life but died in doing so. It explains a lot actually. why dad and crocux knew your name, how you look just like him, how badly you trashed this place. It's all genetic. I can't believe this, I'm an aunt and i never even knew it!" Jr smiled "well Aunt Shi it's good to finally meet you. now lets get back to cleaning this place up before Sholeh gets back." Shi smiled "gladly." and they doubled their pace.

Sholeh didn't know how to take that. It was so creepy how she was just thinking of him bringing her food and he did just that, almost as if he had read her mind.
"Now you better not expect anything in return!" she yelled to the retrieving Crocux, thinking there was something to that gift. Sholeh would usually be too proud to accept them, always thinking there was a prize to be payed, but she was so hungry that time, that she accepted them, not even caring about the source.

Meanwhile... Back on the Haven, Sayan decided to get a quick breakfast while he waited for Sybil's return. "I'm sorry I had to go-- important business. But I brought something to tide us both over.," he said returning to his den with a couple appropriately-sized fish.

While the couple was feeding, a very unexpected visit came to Sayan's den.
"Hello? Mister? Mister Sayan?" a voice called. It was none other than Peepers, who was last seen after the Battle for the Haven, but finally, he had decided to visit one of the Haven residents.

"Peepers?," Sayan said sounding surprised. He heard the familiar-but-not-heard-of-in-a-long-time voice, not immediately seeing the source.

"Oh, hey, so it's true." Peepers said, waving to let them know where he was. He was very well camouflaged with the branch he was standing on, a few feet away from the ground.
"Oh Rose, such a pity that you have to be this way. All the birds here are aware of what is happening, and many of the are in uproar. Especially because in yesterday's reunion, Yodel said that miss Sybil made a deal with Sholeh and said that she will have our eggs again." Peepers explained, knowing that Sayan must know the truth in all that.

OOC: Remember that Rose was informed about the deal. Post #1235

"Remember what Sybil said on the beach?," Sayan said looking at Rose. "It was her decision and a necessary cost. Sholeh won't get access to all the eggs, but rather only the eggs that are abandoned.," he said still embarrassed about the deal. "I'm sorry.," he then said looking at Peepers.

"Oh, just abandoned eggs?" Peepers said surprised, evidently showing that Yodel didn't tell the whole truth.
"Yodel said that the agreement was that she could take any egg she wanted. Man, we should have known better than to believe him." he said angrily.
"I'll make sure I let everyone know. Still, even if they are abandoned, it's such a shame we have to lose lives like that." Peepers said with sorrow, though he knew that a deal was a deal, but it really angered him that Sybil was forced to do it with Sholeh of all creatures.

OOC: You can say I'm a little obsessed.

"Agreed.," Sayan said looking down. "I wasn't too fond of the deal either, but it wouldn't be the first time we had to make such a deal. And things will work out in the end.," he added remembering the first major deal that he himself had brokered.

"Yes. Sacrifices have to be made. Either way, I will tell the birds the whole truth. That Yodel... I don't know why we bother keeping him around." Peepers said upset, knowing that if it was up to him, he would banish the bitter warbler.
"Either way, I will remain near your den in case you need anything. I will tell the birds about this in the afternoon." he said, leaving, though with his expression, it was evident that there was something else bothering him.

"I know." he said bluntly, knowing of her attack on both Stripes and Sybil. He really hated how brutal the drought was already going, and just that morning, he saw the signs that Sayan and Sybil made yesterday, and that really had him restless.

"Anyway, I shall be eating from that tree over there. It looks like it has a fair share of insects." he explained, signaling a rather wide tree just behind Sayan's home. He was going to remain there for the rest of the morning or until either Rose or Sayan need of his service.

Sayan nodded, indicating that he understood. "Thank-you Peepers.," he then said.

Peepers managed to get a good breakfast that day despite the drought. As he suspected, that particular tree had plenty of insects to feed on, yet no other bird dared to approach Sayan's den due to Rose being there, and even though she was tied up, the vine was long enough for her to climb any nearby tree she could. Peepers would occasionally glance at Rose without her noticing, finding hard to believe that such a gentle soul had succumbed to her instincts so soon. He attributed it to her being too young yet, but wondered if Sayan and the other predators would eventually become the same. He didn't want to believe it possible, so he knew the Haven had to be monitored constantly.

After he was done eating, he hid from Rose and signaled Sayan to come to him. There was something he needed to tell him in private...

"It's those signs at the beach Mr. Sayan. Did something happened with the orcas there? The few seagulls and pelicans that remain are freaked out. Orcas have marine birds in their diets, and the only reason they were safe was thanks to Sybil. They had a peace agreement. But now that the drought is hitting, they fear that if they fish, they will be snatched away by one of them." Peepers explained, knowing that the peace treatment that the three species have will be broken if the orcas started to hunt them to supplement the lack of fish in the Haven waters.

"Sadly.. they may be right.," Sayan said telling the warbler the cold hard truth. "We can't be certain yet-- but we can no longer guarantee the safety of the Seagulls or anyone else in close proximity to the water. Like Rose and myself, they are starving and sadly do not have access to the same rations we do. Sybil is taking one final trip to the Hunted Island to receive a guest but after that-- we are cutting off any and all contact with the orcas.," he then said being very serious about the matter.

Jack shrugged "I don't mind staying but you need to get your little boy friend to quit rambling on about you." referring to the serval.

"What boyfriend!?" Sybil asked quite furiously, being very sensitive with that subject. She only wanted Jackto give her a straight answer, since she didn't want to make Jet wait for too long.

Peepers really grew worried with the news. So it was all a precaution for now, but it was time to face the truth of the possibility of the orcas turning against them.

The sea is the only thing that provides for them." Peepers explained, knowing that the only birds that were going to remain were warblers. Another meeting now was obligatory, not only to explain the lie Yodel threw at them, but also to urge the marine birds to leave, before it is too late for them.

Jack laughed and said "well the sevral Sunflame of curse. is their another wild cat that's head over paws for you?"

Sybil lowered her head and slapped her forehead, not believing it was happening again. First an orca, then a falcon, and now a serval. It was being too much for her. Since she didn't want to be involved in more embarrassing situations, she insisted to herself to dismiss the serval's crush as delirium dur to his wounds.
"It's most certainly temporary. Someone severely injured can say the craziest of things." she said to Jack with a frown, still waiting for his answer.

Jack laughed even harder now "relax I'm just messing with you. Look if it's all the same to you i'll stay here. I may have communication issues from time to time but their just misunderstandings on my part. Whirlpool has a lot of exalent ideas and would like to learn from him. who knows maybe I might teach him a thing or two."

Sybil didn't take the joke too lightly, but didn't let him know. Finally with her answer, she prepared to leave.
"Well alright, if you have taken your decision, it's fine. I can send one of the birds to keep you updated on things and send messages. Or you can do the same with a cockatoo. Just please remember to stay away from the water. I think it's only a matter of time before the orca's lack of food forces them to go after us." Sybil warned, still hating to think like that, but she had the feeling that not even willpower from their part was going to be enough to prevent the huge mammals from resisting their need to eat.

Jack nodded "oh but before you leave their's something you should know about his injuries."

"Oh? So what is it?" Sybil asked, really hoping it wasn't serious, but by the tone of Jack's voice, it probably was.

"his injuries were coused by what appere to be claws but they don't belong to a bird or a wild cat or anything of the sort. it's like the claws were made of metal. that is for the bulk of his injuries, the rest can't be identified do to discoloration from bruseing. It's almost like the humans made a machanical monster or something." replied Jack.

Sybil knew that seemingly impossible things happened when humans were involved, so she believed it.
"Perhaps it was done by many knives or maybe a steel trap." Sybil analyzed, trying to find en explanation.

It was only a matter of time until someone got extremely injured or even killed-- and he knew it would be hard for the Haven residents to recover from such an incident.

Jack nodded in agreement "yea ether way it is something to keep alert about drought or no drought."

"I understand." Sybil expressed, before turning to leave the burrow.
"Well then, I must leave now. I don't want to keep Jet waiting." she said, leaving towards Hunted island beach where the waiting Jet was expecting her...

"Anyway, I must start a reunion now. In the meantime, you guys make sure to stay away from the water." he warned, flying away to prepare a reunion. He was really worried about the Haven residents, but especially the orcas.

Jack nodded "ok be safe Sybil."

Sybil nodded before leaving completely, and trusted that Jack was going to listen to her warning. After arriving at the each, she called quietly to Jet.
"Hey Jet! Are you around!?" she asked, knowing that he usually stayed nearby to bring her back.

"Right on then. We go to the Haven then." Sybil said, climbing to his back. She was not showing the fear that she showed back at the Haven, evidently trusting his earlier word. She didn't stop worrying though, and as she prepared for Jet to take her back, she was watching him very carefully to see if there was any sign of malnutrition.

Sybil was hoping for a rather pleasant conversation with Jet to kill time, but she decided to remain quiet and wait for Jet to make the first move, if he wanted to talk that is.

At Hunted island, shortly after Sybil left, Whirlpool and Jack received a visit from Barloc himself. He was fast to point out that it wasn't because he was worried about the serval, he was just there to see if he had recovered, since he wanted him gone. Whirlpool then told him about Sybil's visit, and when he said that she just left, Barloc was furious.
"Silly creature! Here will be safer! Anyway, I'm not going to cry over her if one of her friends turn against her." he said, letting know that he was still mad about his offer being rejected.

Sayan returned to Rose's side-- comforting the tiger while he once again waited for Sybil's return.

OOC: And I don't post for weeks, ha.


By the time AJ returned home, he received an unexpected visitor. "Hey? Are you in there, AJ?" It was Skaliscin, who hadn't been seen in over three months. "It's been a long time, and I thought you could use some company. We've heard about the drought, and figured that you must be pretty lonely." She slithered up a branch by the opening, looking at him. "Maybe we could catch up on everything?"
It was only with the margay that her sweeter temperament was shown. It was beyond anyone why.

Meanwhile, Voracivenom approached the beach for a stroll, only to see the warning signs put out. He was unsettled, remembering what had been told about poor Rose. The atmosphere of the Haven reeked of isolation, mistrust, and worry.

Ooc: isn't Sozen going to say anything about how his new girlfriend just found out that she's an aunt to a mongoose?

"I know... I know you do.," Sayan said rubbing against Rose. "But at least this way... you do still do some freedom.," he gently said glad that they were quite lenient with the vine length.

AJ:

Hearing my friend Skaliscin, my eyes glisten with delight. I stretch and step outside of my nest and rub my head against her scaly skin. I purr happily as what she says is very true and with her, I don't feel so lonely.

"Skaliscin!" Oh, my, how I have missed you. I'm so glad you are here," I say as I sit beside her.

A the top of a tree, Sholeh was sunbathing, taking advantage of the sun at noon. She had quite a successful hunt and was pleased, but her brief happiness was shattered when she reminded herself of her home. That stealing mongoose better be done with the cleaning before she got back, since she wasn't willing to show any mercy.

Sybil wondered why he would ask such a question, but decided to get all her worries off her chest.
"Well, it has everything to do with this drought. You see... Rose attacked me yesterday. Her instincts are too much for her... and I just can't help but to think that it will happen to everybody else eventually." Sybil expressed, still not ready to tell Jet about the signs she placed around the Haven beach.
