Kihei put his paw on Derrick "Lets do this together buddy" He said

Makil was choked long enough for him to need to catch his breath, making him an easier target for the moment

Derrick shuttered a little, "I... I fought a few back in... The Emerald City," he stated stepping over behind George's foreleg. His eyes were slightly spherical compared to their usual serpent's eye slivers, it was a realization of fear that drove his emotions to display in his eyes, "They nearly ripped my wings off."

George thought for a moment, "It's because you were weak," he said, without looking down to Derrick, instead he was gazing at the scene before them, "You hadn't been in good health. But since that night, you've been much different. You are smiling, you are in the sunlight without fear. Without our blood you carried me almost 10 yards. Think of what you are capable of when you are taken care of more properly, like that night," he then knelt down, "You are stronger, faster, and even more courageous than I am when you are, what they call, well fed," he reached up and unlatched some of the chain mail about his neck, "This is why I chose this armor. To ensure you are taken care of. Now," he turned his eyes to look to the little dragon just under his chest, "Take enough to prove to yourself you are strong."

Kihei smiled as George gave his speech. "And if you ever need someone to tell you that you're strong, just come to me buddy." He said before freezing a creature that ran up to them.

OOC: My phone just ruined my day... I made a long post just now, but when I selected "post reply" I got an error page, so I tried to go back and save what I typed, but instead it went the way to the forum listing, skipping the page I had typed on... And now its just gone...

"We have to" Makil said, winded from the fight. "I'm getting too old for this."

"Both Shadow and I have dark energy," Kumara reassured Shade, "in fact, the mist should increase your power slightly, but you must be careful. Too much can corrupt you."

Derrick sighs, taking a deep breath as the battle soon ended, "I'm sorry... I just..." He looks up to Kihei, "Fighting is just not me. I only went out on that guard so I could be extra eyes, not extra claws," he stated.

George blinks slowly as he closes the chain mail, "In time, little brother," he had only called him brother once before, "You will find it in you, the one thing you believe you should fight for, and join your comrades in defending not only their lives, but many others," he stepped away and turned around to Derrick, "For now, just do what you do best, and don't let anyone tell you you can't do anything."

George stepped in, "I've done some reading in my time, and from what I can tell. You are in control the whole time. Darkness is not another mind in ones body. It is just an element to you, as earth is an element to me; If I'm buried alive, it doesn't make me lose control because there is more earth around me. Like a fire dragon, they do not rage when they are in a fire, same fore water dragons. Darkness, or shadows as it is also known, is just an element, and can be stronger if the wielder is in a location where that element is abundant," he explained, "A light dragon can have an evil mind, but will not change to being a super good guy just for being in the sun light.(everyone over thinks the elements, especially shadow(aka darkness) and light)"

(Agreed right there, got many good dark dragons, and an evil light user.)

Glare and Voltaire had participated in the battle with a flurry of light, ice, and electricity, and when it was over, Glare turned to the others, "I agree, you shouldn't have to worry about getting corrupted."

Kihei looked at Derrick "I'm not a fighter either buddy, I just know that I have to fight for something more than just myself." He said "But trust me, I'm still scared"

"But darkness has to be put into the being, they don't just happen upon it," George added, "Like the scratches from these creatures," he looked over to Starz now, "I understand more about other elements than most other single element wielders. Darkness has been known for its evil-esque outcomes, because it can be compared to regular crimes. One will more likely perform an evil deed in the darkness of night than I'm the broad light of day, so it is correlated to those with shadow as a born element to be considered the evil ones. I also have heard and read a little on dark magic or shadow based spells that act as "state of mind alteration" spells. I believe those are the ones you are thinking about now, that the shadows will cause one to become corrupt. I do not know much more than that."

Derrick nodded slowly, "I understand, but we are not the same, so I can only speak for myself as you can only speak for yourself," he looked to his paws, "I came along to help fight, but so far I've just gotten in the way."

Kumara sighed, "why don't we see if he will be affected first? It could just be his powers getting a little stronger."

George's expression went hard for a moment, I knew she was hiding something, he turned to Shade, "Well either way," his expression was more mellow as it usually had been, "We're eventually going to have to go in. We are also going to have to rely on each other more in there," he turned and walked back over to Derrick, "I would like to propose a group vote: Those who would choose to rest a little and eat something before we enter, stand away from the mist," he then, himself, sat down, "Those who oppose, stand where you are. No matter the judgement, I will follow."

Kihei backed away "Derrick, you haven't gotten in the way at all." He said "We may not be the same, but our experiences are similar"

Makil thought about it, and he decided not to move

"Well there's a first for everything," Kumara said.

George stepped aside, back toward Derrick in a sense, "Please, we mustn't waste much more time, but I will not rush health care. Do keep in mind we may be attacked again at any moment, being this close to their territory," he didn't need to gesture to the obvious.

Derrick took a moment to compare their history, "I guess, in some ways, we are a bit alike. Only, I have no home but George's to return to. You have an entire kingdom."

"I might not be able to go back Derrick" Kihei said "I could have been sent here because of a revolution in the kingdom"

Shadow had disappeared a while ago, scouting the area within the mist wall, trying to detect any other creatures that could be a threat. When the area was fully sort through, he returned back to the group.
"It seems as though we're alone now," he said as he walked out of the mist.
