I don't delete anyone without having invites in the queue. But I now face the situation of having invites and having 100 friends. I'm trying to figure out which ones don't gift but it's hard. Almost everyone gifts at least once a week. And I could wind up replacing an infrequent gifter with a even less frequent gifter.

This is probably too nerdy, but I've started keeping track of my infrequent gifters. I may cut some of the lest frequent gifters/players.

Or do people think that's uncool? Should I wait to see they haven't logged on for 3 weeks or something before removing someone? Even if they only gift once or twice a week (when other players gift 5-7 times a week)?

Once I hit 100 and got additional requests I went through friends and there were several who hadn't played in over a month or in a few weeks. I figured if they hasn't played in that long new friends were worth a try.
As for the less frequent gifters vs new friends. You never know what you are going to get but you do know what you've got. You will have to decide if you want to risk a new friend being a better gifter, the same or someone who gives up on the game. I haven't had that problem yet but I'm getting close and still undecided on what I will do.

New to the forum, been a reader for ages but only just got signed up to post.. Still have lots of space for new friends. Gift every day (expect 2 days this week when I was on holiday and had no signal so apologies to those I missed, hate those red arrows :-( )

If it's too nerdy, then I too am guilty. I've got a hit list on paper of 12 players I'm watching, with eight invites queued. In the back of my mind, I know that's eight instant gems awaiting. Following my deliberate decision to be selfish for a few days when the cap bug wasn't fixed quickly, I may however now be on other people's hit lists as I've gone from having three red arrows out of 100 to having about 20. It may take a few weeks for me to get rid of most of those red arrows again. Don't lose any sleep over whatever you decide though - it's just a game.

How about the devs increase the friend limit? Who's with me on this!

Before the devs do increase or maybe along with an increase, I would like to see a companion that allows you to send/receive all gifts. It takes too much time to do it manually and I am not even up to the 100 friend limit. I have also completely given up on visiting to send invitations.
