"Sorry!" Hikari also said, skidding to a stop beside them. "I slept in a bit too late. Ok, so are we all here?" She looked around.
"Not yet." Veemon said.

Hikari agreed.
Veemon sat down.

Veemon nodded. "It is."
"We should be able to open the portal on the lake," Hikari murmured, rumaging around in her bag for nothing in particular.

"Ok, so we're all here." Hikari said. She paused. "We are, right?"

"Ok, let's go!"
Hikari pulled a small gadget out of her bag: a digivice (you all have one). She pointed it towards the lake and near the edge of the lake, a portal appeared.
Hikari grabbed Veemon's hand and ran over to the edge of the lake. "See you guys there!" she cried, jumping into the portal and vanishing.

OOC: You know you all could've jumped through the portal Hikari made.

Hikari and Veemon flew through the portal and fell towards the ground from the sky. The two friends landed on the ground as Hikari's portal disappeared.
"They must've made their own portals..." Hikari said, looking up and watching her portal disappear.
"We're here," Veemon murmured, looking around.

"Hi Ray." Hikari called, waving. "Over here!"

Hikari smiled at everyone. She looked over her shoulder, seeing a dark cloud in the distance, a few lightning strikes happening around it every few seconds. "Well, that seems like a good place to start."
Veemon nodded.
Hikari began to walk into the forest, heading towards the cloud. "Come on guys!"

As they walked towards where the dark cloud was, the forest seemed to become darker and strange sounds could be heard.
"This place is creepy." Hikari muttered.
Veemon stayed close to her.

The group reached a clearing, and suddenly, a large group of Greymon jumped out, blocking their path. The Greymon looked different. Their skin was black with red stripes and their eyes were glowing red.
"They're shadow digimon!" Veemon cried, jumping in front of Hikari protectively.
All the Greymon roared and charged towards the groups, raising their claws and opening their mouths ready to attack.
"Guys!" Hikari yelled over the roars, "We need to evolve our digimon!"

As Hikari and Veemon jumped for cover, Hikari pulled her digivice out of her bag. "Veemon!" she cried. A glowing blue light surrounded her hand. She placed it over the digivice and then it to began to glow.
A blue light also began to surround Veemon. He flew up into the air. "Veemon, digivolve to...!" he cried, spinning around. A blinding light surrounded him and suddenly a large digimon appeared in his place. "...Flamedramon!"

OOC: I can't remember if that's the actual way Digimon evolve...I'm just remembering what I can from one of the seasons and the game.

OOC: Oh. I've noticed Veemon needs a lot of special things to evolve into different forms. In Digimon Rumble Arena 2, Veemon's evolution form is Flamedramon, so I'm just going with that.

Flamedramon grabbed Hikari and jumped up into the air, away from a Greymon's claws, which had now crashed down into the ground. Another Greymon spotted them and blasted a dark flamethrower in their direction. "Flame shield!" Flamedramon cried, a circle of flame surrounding them. The dark flames rebounded off the shield.

Two greymon charged towards Birdramon. Another greymon ran towards Garururmon and Conner.

One of the greymon got hit and fell backwards. The other opened its mouth and launched a flamethrower at Birdramon.

Two greymon fell back, getting hit my the flame attacks.

"Fire rocket!" Flamedramon cried, fireballs raining down on some of the greymon.

Other greymon began to charge for the others.

The greymon attacking Garuromon raised its claws, ready to slash down.

"Flame shield!" Flamedramon cried again, creating a sheild of flame as a dark flamethrower flew towards them.
Hikari was standing on Flamedramon's shoulder.

The greymon stumbled back and then raised it's claws, ready to slash down.

Flamedramon landed on the ground and a greymon charged towards them. "Flame headbutt!" Flamedramon cried, bending his knees and then jumped towards the greymon, striking his flaming sword through the greymon. The greymon dissolved into data and vanished.
More greymon, after being attacked, were doing the same.

"Yes! They're disappearing! Keep going guys!" Hikari yelled.

"Flamedramon, look out!" Hikari called. A flamethrower was heading towards them. Flamedramon put up a flame shield just in time. "Phew." Hikari breathed out.

More greymon were disappearing. There were only a few left, and they were charging towards everyone.

More greymon disappeared.

"Flame rocket!" Flamedramon cried, firing more fire balls at the greymon.

Nearly all of them were gone.
