Rainy (True)

Rainy and Loony have a similar sort of relationship as Latias and Latios from Pokemon Heroes, with the playful, naive little sister and the overprotective older brother (though these two are actual twins). Loony is a dream, representing Hope, while Rainy is a nightmare representing Denial. Neither are inherently benevolent of malevolent, with traits that would be more suited to the other's role. The twins are around two thousand years old, give or take a century or two (They are older than Luna and Celestia, and Equestria itself, however).

The Nightmare of Denial, Rainy was a little untraditional among her kind, sharing more traits with dreams than other nightmares. Most active around the holiday seasons, particularly Hearth's Warming since its foundation, her abilities specialising in helping ponies who have lost loved ones, mainly due to suicide, and have refused to accept their passing. She was always kind, playful and happy, and a bit of a motormouth, in stark contrast to her cocky yet serious, overprotective twin brother.

When Luna fell and became Nightmare Moon, she tore the nightmares from the dream realm to supplement her own power (leading to the nightmare dreamscape in the comics). Rainy was among the few that were outright killed during the battle between Celestia and NMM, her mind, body and magic torn asunder. Loony never forgave himself for his sister's death, for failing to protect her, and has haboured a deep hatred and resentment towards Luna for tearing his best friend and other half away from him.

Rainy actually went through a 'reincarnation', the lingering fragments of her mind and power returning to life around twenty years prior to the events of the show, due to Loony's presense in reality via Hellena, though her mentality and memories had degraded severely. Fragile, with no idea what happened to her or where she came from, Rainy took to wandering Equestria for the last couple of decades.

Ideas (MLP Kirin!Wheatley)

He fulfils a role similar to a cross between Luna/Nightmare Moon and Discord, with a few twists dictated by the Portal canon (and the Announcer).

GLaDOS is the queen of Equestria, and Canterlot itself is her throne, and the gateway to a labyrinthine Aperture spanning the underground of continents. The eight cores, her younger siblings, keep her under control (Wheatley himself embodying her endless ideas). Wheatley split from this eternal system, seeking to rise above the others and become the king Equestria (and Aperture) so richly deserves. Using the Elements of Harmony, with the help of an orange earth pony, and her younger sisters (Morality, Curiosity, Logic, Emotion), GLaDOS sealed Wheatley within the moon for one thousand years, with the unforeseen side-effect of 'destroying' the cores/princesses (becoming the stars from the MLP pilot prologue in the AU, returning along with their brother).

But a great puppetmaster never lets his strings be seen, and this is no exception...

Rocket Sentry

The Rocket Sentry, the first of the Queen's four children.

Nearing his third centennial, with the physical appearance of a teenager, this mute sentry roams the dark halls of the castle, obliterating any and all intruders that draw his attention. Due to this volatile nature, many of the guard avoid wandering across his chosen path. Uninterested in the throne that, in face of his immortal mother, aunts and uncles, unlikely to ever get, he passed his birthright onto his younger sister.

Has a proficiency with rocket launchers, combined with a certain talent for Combustion Man-esque explosive magic.

Eyes change colour between green, yellow and red depending on two variables; his mood and whether he's idle, locked on, or firing. Eyes tend to stay a constant yellow when angry.

The last thing many hopeful thieves and both incompetent and capable assassins see are those glowing red eyes.



Sentry Turret

The second child born to the Queen, and the heir to Equestria's throne (in the extremely unlikely event that GLaDOS is killed). The oldest of a set of triplets, the identical twin to the Oracle Turret/Sybill and a fraternal sister to the Defective Turret/Nolan.

The Sentry Turret, her siblings and GLaDOS are true gods, five of six of the deities in this particular world (Twilight Lumina Sparkle simultaneously being the second born, sixth discovered). The rest of the cores, and their twin cousins, are regarded as demigods. Each possess a domain, though the respective aspects of the world they control are related to virtues, rather than 'physical' domains, or those relating to a mechanic essential for life.

At an approximate age of 200, the three turrets would be the immortal equivalents to prepubescent foals, around the age where the three would be discovering their domains. Kathryn herself is rather precocious, typically playing with her siblings and messing around, the trio forming a Cutie Mark Crusader-esque club/competition on who would be the first to find their domains and finally rise to the ranks of true gods/tearing GLaDOS from her seat of power in the form of 'sparky-sparky-boom alicorn magic' (Courtesy of Nolan).

While the triplets are a common sight in the castle, causing general mischief and mayhem, even from their point of view their sickly elder brother is a rare sight.

Juliet Invictus, the Demigoddess of Morality

Juliet Invictus, 'third' eldest of her siblings, and arguably the most powerful barring GLaDOS herself.

Born half blind, small, and rather frail, the quiet Juliet turned to learning any and all magic to prove herself as not needing physical strength in order to be strong, having a particular fixation on dark magic. Regarded as neither malevolent nor benevolent, the Demigoddess of Morality preferring to remain neutral for her own purposes.

Juliet is rumoured to have dark intentions, manipulating the Queen in order to achieve her own ends. She's a bookish mare, having read almost everything in the royal libraries even after her thousand year absense, and has cracked into the deepest, darkest secrets that GLaDOS has deemed to dangerous to leave in the public view. She also enjoys writing, publishing her works under a pseudonym.

Said to have been close to Wheatley in years passed, but their relationship soured after a 'fight' over a thousand years prior, while the latter was under the Nightmare/Announcer/WheatDOS' influence.

Rarely shows emotion, and rarely speaks.

Interesting enough, Juliet draws as a parallel to a young hero of the past named Chell.

Delly Invictus, the Demigoddess of Curiosity

Delly, the youngest of the demigods that help govern Equestria, and the younger twin sister of Cosmo, the Demigod of Determination.

An avid sweetmaker, it is said that while her twin brother Cosmo began the tradition of giving presents on Hearth's Warming, Delly was the cause of the dishes and sweets that had grown popular during the holiday.

Many consider Delly and her twin to be the most likeable of Equestria's royal family, in contrast with the cold-hearted queen, arrogant princes, and one particularly sociopathic princess.

I just wanna say I love your artwork. It's really amazing. :3
But I really need to ask you something... What program do you use, and also... How on earth do you get your lines that smooth and non-jittery?? It's a wonder and amazement to me when I see such perfect curved lines that aren't pixelated whatsoever. So, if you don't mind, can you please tell me? I'd very much appreciate it.

I use Photoshop CC for the lines and flats, then Paint Tool Sai for the shading (I can't find any blending brushes I like in Photoshop).

With the lines, I tend to go quickly and do each line in one stroke, rather than a few. It can take a while to get the lines right, especially with the legs, but I feel it looks better than smaller, quicker strokes.

I use a huge canvas as well, that might help too.

Cosmo Invictus, the Demigod of Determination

The second youngest of the royal family, barring his nieces and nephews, Cosmo also happens to be the shortest.

In the aftermath of the Announcer's original attempt at taking over Equestria, resulting in many thousands of deaths and orphaned foals via his cruel magic, Cosmo saw fit to bring back happiness in his own eccentric way, leaving gifts for young foals on Hearth's Warming, particularly for orphans and those who didn't have a home. While no one ever found out who actually did leave those presents, ponies all over Equestria continued the tradition of giving each other gifts. Cosmo himself continued to give to foals who wouldn't have been given anything otherwise.

Fitting to his name, Cosmo is an avid astronomer, having spent most of his two and a half millennia charting the stars. His hobby became almost obsessive in the wake of the Nightmare's banishment, and centuries later many began joking that he was more a Demigod of Space then that of Determination.

No one really knew why he so desperately watched the stars dubbed 'The Four Sisters'. No one would've joked about it if they did.

Rebecca Invictus, the Demigoddess of Logic

The third youngest of the nine siblings.

The so-called Queen of Cake, Rebecca is the (rather eccentric) head of Canterlot's culinary world. The is the chef behind many popular cake recipes, including Black Forest, though the demigod has found her specialty in her own unique recipe, made from the vanilla of an incredibly rare orchid, of which there are only two known patches, both kept secret by Rebecca herself.

Owning her own cafe, ponies the world over come to her Raavanilla Cheesecake. It was a dearly missed delicacy during her absence, and one that fell into the realm of myths in the ensuring years.

As they say, she rules the Canterlot elite with her brother Craig through fashion and cake.

Johanna Invictus, the Demigoddess of Emotion

The sixth of the nine cores.

Quick to laugh and quicker to anger, Johanna is the admittedly moodswing-prone florist of the family. It is said that when in a rage, she actually loses the capability to speak in part of blistering fury. Thankfully enough (for everyone), it's rare for Johanna to actually be angry.

A master thief nicknamed the Black Rose that used to haunt Equestria pre-Nightmare Invictus was rumoured to be none other than the Emotion Princess herself, Johanna allegedly being prone to the boredom of rose-growing and political duties, especially with the absense of the psychotic goddess sister that had tried to tear apart the country a century and a half prior (GLaDOS). Unusually enough, everything taken seemed to find its way back only days later, accompanied with a red-tipped, black rose.

It's also said that she can turn invisible. Rumours at best. Johanna prefers to leave it in the air.

Wheatley Invictus, the Demigod of Ideas

Counting the Announcer, Wheatley is the third of the Invictus siblings, and the first one who had not been born a god.

It's fair to say that Wheatley got the short end of the stick, on more than one occasion.

When GLaDOS fell from grace two hundred years prior to the rise of the Nightmare, she had maimed her younger brother in the fight she had with the other eight, before she was defeated.

With Nightmare Invictus himself, unlike Luna with Nightmare Moon, Wheatley retained some physical aspects from his possessed, 'artificial' god form, including a darkened coat, dull scales, and a gaunt, starved look (The Announcer didn't 'feel' hunger, letting his vessel go unfed without realising it). While he wouldn't have died from starvation, due to his immortality, it did do quite a number on his health.

Quite cheerful, if a little hesitant and unsure of himself, Wheatley is a bit like Luna in the regard that he doesn't feel he quite belongs with the current time, quite well aware that 'he' single-handedly demolished his own reputation for the twenty years that he had been Nightmare Invictus.

At least he didn't have to deal with language barriers.

But then again, Luna didn't have a daughter to deal with.

Rick Invictus, the Demigod of Adventure

Rick Invictus, the younger twin of Craig and the sixth sibling.

Took the role of the 'laid back elder brother', seeing as Wheatley was a dork and Craig was too uptight for his own good, Rick was generally the one to hang around his younger siblings when the nine were young. While Cosmo and Delly were an example of being similar as twins, Craig and Rick are opposites in pretty much every way, the two sharing a rivalry. It's said the Craig is jealous of how easy his younger twin has it, whatever that happens to mean.

Staying true to his domain, Rick himself charted most of Equestria and the Old World's wilds, earning himself a fair few scars from the monsters and beasts that didn't take too kindly to his presense, and later hid within the Everfree Forest when Nightmare Invictus proved to be a bigger bite than what he could chew. Gave Juliet some helpful advice when they encountered each other, as she had no idea whether she should awaken the Queen or not.

Quite a flirt, with a habit to bed pretty mares, much to GLaDOS consternation and Craig's embarrassment/irritation/(rumoured) jealousy.

Twilight Luminia Invictus, the Goddess of the Stars

Twilight's backstory in the KirinDOS AU is a bit complicated, born around a thousand years before she had actually appeared in the timeline, sent through time by Juliet in order to protect her from a crazed Wheatley.

Discovered by GLaDOS, who was then unaware of her origins as both of the ponies who had known about her were absent, a tiny filly with the essense of an alicorn, but lacked the wings and connection to the earth that she should've had. Intrigued, and determined to protect the mysterious filly who had nothing but a tear-stained note that only said 'Twilight Luminia', she placed her as a foster filly with a noble couple she could trust; Velvet Sparkle and Night Light.

Events proceed similarly as to the show's canon, with Twilight being taken under GLaDOS' wing as a personal student, defeating Nightmare Invictus with the Elements of Harmony alongside her new friends.

It wouldn't be until after her ascension back into alicornhood that her past and parentage would become apparent, that her teacher would be an aunt, and the psychopath that had brought her and her friends together would be her father.

Craig Invictus, the Demigod of Fact

Tall, thin, and more than a little judgemental, Craig is the head of the Canterlot elite, and not without good reason. For designers across the globe, he is the final challenge, the pony that everyone wants to impress. A difficult feat; it's well known that he only accepts the best of the best, and that isn't even considering what he designs himself.

Deceptively weak, Craig is far more powerful, both magically and mentally, than he lets on. Hiding behind a mask of selfish arrogance, he is far more pleasant and friendly than most make him out to be. He has quite a close connection to his then-unknown niece, Twilight Sparkle, when she was a filly, and always set aside the time to help her with her studies.

Many who haven't met him think of him as feminine, as demonstrated by his occupation and colour. Really, he doesn't consider the boundaries of gender ideals. A job is a job, a colour is a colour, and nothing should be bound by such concepts of masculine or feminine.

As they say, Logic and Fact will rule Canterlot through fashion and cake, and a millennium-long delay won't stop them.
