Dragon Statue In The Temple [CLOSED]

The statue was never emphasized as far as I can remember. It appeared in ANB during training, and we never saw the Temple statue in TEN, but we did see the Malefor statues before facing Gaul. But they were more decoration than anything else.

When I was replaying Spyro TEN, I saw when Ignitus was talking to everyone, and he mentioned the Dark Master.
When he said that, the camera flashed on the statue in the training room.. but I always thought it was the Chronicler, because why would there be statues of an evil dragon in the dreams he called Spyro to?

Yea.. I finnally finished the game like two thirds of the whole year and was replaying it.. It was so weird when Ignitus was talking about Spyro's dream... and Malefor mountain? I'm getting myself confused now. I need to beat Gaul for the second time and go back to watch it again.

I am pretty sure that the statue is Malefor aka the dark master. I remember in a scene in TEN where Terrador said Mountain of Malefor and a thundering was to be heard in that room where the statue is.

You know, thats a very good thought, that the statue leads to something. And it has been emphisized (however you spell that) a lot in the other 2 games

Well, he could be real important since he's the first purple dragon. Besides, how could someone build a portal when its built from magic!? Ever since the flashy thing I could say the statue is Malefor.

Maybe it's a tomb! Possibly that's where Malefor's body is. I bet that if thats true, the DM will launch a huge attack on the temple to get his body back. After all, we know the DM himself is trapped in Convexity, so I don't think he's under the statue.

Interesting reading all these posts. I only have the DS version of ANB and although I dont know the story of the Dark Master, I know the statue you're talking about. Next time I play, I'll go and look at it. I always just assumed it was a random dragon.

Was the Dark Master once good, but turned bad (like Red)? Or has he always been bad?

Malefor was the first purple dragon. The guardians at that time taught him all the elements but Malefor just wanted to learn more and more so the guardians cast him away and so he built an army of apes and taught them how to use dragon magic and harness power from the gems. The story of Cynder comes after.
