Oh, btw, just to clarify, Spyro has a Greenstick fracture. Those are among the least painful and fastest to heal of all break patterns. Greensticks don't even go all the through.

Chapter VI: A promise held and kept

A few days after Spyro's fracture, so Peyrite woke up Spyro, and said to him, "Follow me.". Spyro, groggy and half-asleep said, "Why, why now at 10:00 PM? I'm trying to get some sleep and heal.". Peyrite said, "Just come, we're going on a walk.". Spyro lazily crawled down from his bed, and followed Peyrite. He and Peyrite went past the valleys and meadows, to the Great River that flowed through their draconic commune.

The two sat at the bank of the river, and looked forth to the horizon, filled with the shining stars of the heavens. Peyrite said to Spyro, "I really appreciate what you did. I realized me hurting you would only be a deterrent to you, and I gave you plenty. Sera needs to know to take time too. I realize you may be the one more likely to put forth, but I fear as well she may get caught up in a moment and make a decision you both would eventually regret on your own.".

Spyro said, "Yeah, you owe me. There better be good reason for me snapping my bone like a twig.". Peyrite said ambiguously, "There is.". Spyro said further, "I just don't know why you are so focused on trying to stop this.". Peyrite said to Spyro, "Spyro, dragons are so powerfully effected emotionally by mating as Peyrits. Peyrits take mating very seriously, and regard it as the moment two souls become forever intertwined. We take the concepts of marriage, romance, and deep love very seriously.".

Peyrite continued, "The reason why few marriages happen between dragons and Peyrits is because they almost always lead to the Peyrit emotionally hurt, be it male or female.". Spyro said, "You do it to protect us.", and Peyrite said, "Bingo.". Spyro said, "But what if a Peyrit and a dragon are very deeply in love?". Peyrite said, "It doesn't matter. Peyrits regard marriage as a lifelong commitment, and to them, mating is what seals that promise in their hearts. Dragons may not care, but we do.".

Spyro sighed, as he solemnly looked forth into the misty night air, and said, "You know, I was planning on proposing to Sera soon...", and Peyrite said curiously, "Really?". Spyro brought the barb of his tail to his neck, and brushed his Dvratan Amulet aside to reveal a shining, magnificent necklace with a wedding ring on the end, and Spyro held up the necklace with his tail's end. Peyrite looked at the dazzling ring, and said, "It's absolutely beautiful!".

The ring was of the most glorious silver, with two helical bands weaving in between each other of amethyst and sapphire, with a carat stone of a beautiful, flawless, stunning vivid blue diamond set among stellar moonstone inlay. Even Peyrite's own ring paled in comparison to such a venust glory as this. Spyro put back down the necklace, and covered it once more with his amulet, and Spyro said, "I really love her, Excavenger, and I want to be with her for the rest of my life.".

Peyrite, amazed upon hearing and seeing all this said, "You've really thought this through, haven't you?". Spyro said, "I have. I love Sera so much. I want her to be the first and last thing I see every day, I want to care for her, I want to make love with her, I want to have children with her... I want to have a life with her. It's time I matured, and settled down with someone. And there is no one I'd rather do so with than her.".

Peyrite smiled and said, "You really have matured Spyro. This whole time I've given you so little credit, believing you just wanted Sera so you could see what sex was like. As I have been many times before, I'm once more completely wrong. You may not age in body, but you sure have in mind and heart.". Spyro got up, and as he walked away said, "I'm surprised it took this long for you to catch on to the fact I can mature.". Peyrite got up and said, "Wait, Spyro.".

Spyro turned his head and said, "Yeah?", when Peyrite blasted Spyro's leg with light, healing the break of his bone. Peyrite walked up to Spyro and said, "Through thick and thin I have traveled with you. You have been a friend and ally for as long as I can remember. We've had our good times, and our bad times, but never have we abandoned each other. It is only right that I show the same mercy that you so well taught me, and that you have taught others. Spyro, you are an incredible dragon.".

And as the air grew cold, they slowly walked back to the Compound, to plan for the coming storm.

I know you warned me about this, but it's crazy that Amber's marrying Sera. Isn't he Peyrite's age? By the way, what kind of brutal torture do you have lined up for SCF? I posted earlier that you should kill him then feed his reproductive organs to a rabid opossum, but maybe the other way around?

Chapter VII: Ascension

Peyrite, alongside the others, crouched on the edge of a ledge, overlooking a valley. Peyrite said, pointing to a glint of light in the distance, "Look. They are charging their weapon. They are attempting a forceful staggering of our defense.". Sera said, "How much time?". Peyrite said, "Maybe a minute, prepare.". Much to their surprise, he hardly finished his words before the light flared immensely, and a massive laser fired forth.

Sera, unknowingly out of instinct, said, "Get back!", as she launched herself into the air off the cliff, and released a colossal beam of immense, powerful energy. The energy flared as wisps of boiling light curled off the sides, and as the beam overpowered the laser, redlining it's fire, she shattered the mountains in a explosion of Meteoriagia. Sera then fell to the ground, drained, and while some could only stare in awe, all eventually rushed to her side.

Spyro, worried, said, "You alright?", to which Sera replied, "Yeah, I'm fine.". Peyrite said, "How did you do that?". From behind came a familiar voice, saying, "She has become one of the Seven Souls.". It was Moasane, and Peyrite turned to say, "Who was replaced?". Moasane said, "I was. Powerful blood runs through your daughter, more so than mine.". Sera says, "So I'm stronger than my dad?". Moasane nodded and said, "That is true. Your father is indeed weaker than you now.".

Moasane paused before pointing forward and saying, "THAT, however, is of more concern.". A thick sea of soldiers lined the horizon, doubtlessly millions of them. Sera said, "No problem, I'll handle it.". She razed the horizon with yet another overpowering blast, but this time dropped afterward, feeling an icy shock in her veins. Moasane said to Sera, "I suggest using your power properly. You may be powerful, but you still have a limited store of power. Tapping into too much power will drain you totally.".

From the smoke of the horizon, the six could see Macryas, with his arms outstretched, each bearing a very dark purple draconic being, barely differing from Spyro's size. Macryas let down the dragons, and he said, "I trust you've been fine.". Sera said, "You are still alive, so I can't say I am, Macryas.". Macryas said, "Mind your tone, whore. I'm Axel.". Upon the silence at this news, Axel continued, "Allow me to introduce Beta and Gamma. Corrupted clones bred of a xenon graser and samples of Spyro's DNA. The only thing they hate more than each other... is Spyro.".

Beta and Gamma lunged into Spyro, and pulled him with their teeth into a portal to Purgatory. Peyrite said, "Don't go in there. If another living soul goes there, he dies and becomes a soul.". Sera, enraged at Axel's bold move, took out her sword, a katana of an onyx handle and a byzantine blade, and slashed away furiously. Try as Axel may to block, Sera struck faster as a gale, slicing gaping wounds in Axel, and severing his massive, golden feathered left wing, and sheathed her katana as the wing gently floated to earth.

Axel, in spiteful rage, swung at Sera, but she simply dodged his strike, kicked him, and blasted him to the ruins of the Sky City with a blast of Judgment. After Axel landed in the center of the ruins, Sera spawned above the city a monumental meteoric slab of stone. Before Axel could react, Sera plummeted the stone to the ground, encasing Axel in it. Sera, exhausted, dropped and said, "When is Spyro getting back? Is he getting back?".

Peyrite said, "Only time can tell. Just pray he comes back.". And so, as the night closed, they merely went back to wait in hope.

Chapter VIII: Cain and Judas

As Beta and Gamma dragged Spyro into the midst of a great abysmal plain, the unconscious dragon's ridges on his spine grinding the black slough, and Beta and Gamma dropped the limp dragon carelessly. Gamma said, "This should be a fine place to put him.", and Beta said, "Shut up.". Beta bit Spyro very forcefully in the gut and said, "Get up, maggot.".

Spyro, with a tint of confusion and a dazed mind, groggily woke up and said, half awake, "Yes?". Beta punched Spyro in the sternum forcefully, and said with a snarl, "Don't get wise, and get your miserable carcass off the ground.". Spyro slowly stood and said, "What do you want from me?". Gamma said, "To kill you, blockhead. That's why we're here.".

Beta was a thin, somewhat rotund dragon, with a very dark purple to his skin, horns of a dull brown, and a fairly annoying voice. He was not very old, maybe 13 or 14 at the oldest by way of appearance, but of an exceptionally cruel personality. He wore chains and shackles of rusted iron on his legs, and had horrific blades clamped to his wings, and his tail barb was replaced by a saw-tooth blade, bloody and vicious.

By wild contrast, Gamma was almost sickly looking, as if spat from the nightmare womb of a demoness. He was scrawny, with disproportionate feet and hands, and mismatched parts to his body. He looked as if he was a lizard cursed with the plague with crudely sewn on wings more than a dragon. He, too, was of a sickly purple. Truly this sick creature was birthed of nothing but pestilence and terrorizing torture.

Spyro at that point said to them, "If you are to fight, fight. Otherwise, go to the hell you came from.". Beta throttled Spyro and shoved him to the ground, saying in sick malice, "Listen to me, you pathetic worm, you talk back, and I'll cut your throat.", as he showed his tongue, forked and made of sharp silver, a blade in it's own right. Gamma said, "You planning on making out with him or killing him?".

Beta, enraged, got up and shouted at Gamma, "Look, pond scum, I'm sick and tired of your idiocy. Let me do the work, and you just go crawl back into the primordial soup you came from and go bone a fish.". Gamma spat fire in Beta's eye and said, "Why don't you just go back to your pathetic swamp and go pleasure yourself? Oh, that's right... you can't, because unlike me, you don't have a bone...".

As Gamma scoffed and walked away, Beta stabbed him in the back of the skull, and Beta ran his tail blade along Gamma's spine and to the tip of his tail. Gamma, choking on his own darkened blood, fell dead to the ground. Beta said, looking at Spyro as he licked the blood off his tail, "Now I kill you...". As Beta lunged for Spyro, Spyro saw a glint of power come into him, as he broke the flow of time.

Beta slowly passed Spyro, as Spyro dodged, and then breathed Meteoriagiac lightning into Beta's veins, as time restored, and Beta fasciculated violently as his body was electrocuted and he fell dead to the ground of the Abyss. Spyro said, "God have mercy on your soul.". In the void of faint yellow glows, of souls lost, one came forth, a Peyrite. He said, "Spyro? It's me, Malle.".

Spyro said in shock and awe, "Malle?".

Chapter IX: A time to remember

Spyro said to Malle, "I thought you were dead, Malle?". Malle responded, "Yes, and as such, my soul is in Purgatory. Oddly enough, I can... feel things. I can live, breathe... be happy. I once again have emotions.". Spyro said, trying to convince Malle, "Why don't you come back then? Your purpose is not over.".

Malle said, "No, this is sadly to be my place. I did countless souls wrong, and I must pay for it in fire and blood.". Spyro said, "You paid for it your whole life. You've been tortured for eons. We have missed you, come back!". Malle said, confused, "Why? No one mourned me.". Spyro said, "That's what you think. We all mourned for a month. At your funeral, we had a candlelit vigil and had you buried in one of the most honourable rings of the Mausoleum.".

Malle said, "Even Amber missed me?". Spyro said, "Yes, very much.". Malle said, "Enough to...?", as he slid his hands on top of each other, insinuating a rather repugnant notion. Spyro said bluntly, "No. You seem to forget she is married.". Malle said, "That would be a kink in the works. But, hey, the fact she mourned me is enough. I'll go with you.". Spyro said, "Good, follow me.".

As the two walked back to a field, one corresponding to where the Mausoleum was, Malle stopped Spyro and said, "What's this?", as he reached for a silver necklace around Spyro's neck. Spyro brushed Malle's hand off, and remained silent. Malle said with a smile, "You're going to propose, aren't you? Who's the lucky lady?". Spyro said, "Sera.", to which Malle responded, "Peyrite's daughter?".

Spyro and Malle arrived at a large glyph, and Spyro said, "Lie down.". Malle did so, and nervously asked, "Do you know how to do this?". Spyro said, "Just stay still and feel the light.". Spyro then breathed a massive storm of holy light upon Malle, causing Malle's soul and body to come together once more. And so a great powerful disturbance came to the world above, pealing lightning every which way.

Peyrite said, "What in the name of God is going on?". Moments later, smoke poured out of the Mausoleum, and a blood curdling scream could be heard, along with a horrific blast of electricity. After all this, Malle woke, and exited the Mausoleum. When he came out, Amber said, "Malle?". Malle said, "I am he.". Peyrite reacted less favourably, by fainting.

Sera said, "Malle, where is Spyro?". Malle smiled and said, "He's coming...". Peyrite woke, and saw Malle smiling. Peyrite walked up to Malle, and said, "I can't remember the last time you had a smile without it relating to sex.". Malle said, "Nice to see you too. And for the record, I'm just going to try for someone else.".

Spyro then appear from a portal, and Sera yelled, "Spyro!", as she tackled him and pinned him to a wall, tonguing him viciously. As they broke off, Spyro said, "Good to see you too.". Sera, excited, said, "I've missed you so much! Don't leave me again! I love you!". Spyro put his claw over Sera's mouth, and said, "Shh... just take this.", as he reached for his silver necklace, ring on the end, and he put it in Sera's hand.

Sera, not able to believe what was happening, said, "What is this?". Spyro said, "A covenant of our faith, and an eternal symbol of my love.". Sera, nearly speechless said, "Are you proposing to me?". Spyro said, "Sera, will you marry me?", and Sera said, "I don't know what to say.". Spyro smiled and said, "How about yes?".

Sera said to Spyro, "Then my answer is yes.".

Chapter X was deleted by Dark52. Despite the previously mentioned chapter being deleted, it remains as canon in Compassion and Retribution. All such chapters deleted as so will be available in the final upload on Fanfiction.net for viewing, that no canon be missed.
