Chapter 33
Dark Spyro cried in what could only be agony as the light fury destroyed his attacks and consumed him.
When the light faded Destiny was panting, she had wasted a lot of energy.
Looking before her she saw the panting, singed, body of her opponent on the ground.
Walking over she placed a paw on his side as he struggled to stand.
“Don’t move. In your state you might kill yourself if you do.” She said in warning to the fallen demon.
She looked up to see the darkened moons, their beauty cloaked by the darkness of Eclissi.
-----
He lie trapped inside this suspended state, his body had fallen to his internal demon.
Spyro could only wait, only watched as Dark Spyro fought the silver dragon.
Once she released a fury of light he felt the suspending force around him weaken, the attack had hit. Light does, after all, repel darkness.
He heard the young dragon speak, obviously to the fallen demon dragon.
Spyro felt the suspension around him weaken more, he could move slightly.
-----
Dark Spyro obeyed Destiny, he could do nothing else in his weakened state.
“Now, accept your fate and release your vessel from your grip!” The Silver Dragoness said
Dark Spyro only smirked and spoke, despite being weak,
“Spyro…is gone…Eclissi shall… destroy him, even if you defeat me…”
“Who says I only defeated you” Destiny asked cockily as a playful smirk crossed her maw.
The demon dragon looked to the sky, the eclipses above had just stopped, reversing their paths.
“NO!” Dark Spyro roared as what little strength he had left was sapped away from the lightened moons.
“SURRENDER AND RELEASE YOUR VESSEL DEMON!” The young dragoness roared, the voices of the Silver Dragons before her mixing with it.
With a final cry the shadowed colors of Dark Spyro faded, leaving pure, normal, lighter ones.
Destiny looked closely as spyro glowed with a white light, body returning back to that of a teen dragon.
A rumbling was heard, the well of souls was collapsing.
Hoisting the unconscious purple dragon onto her back, Destiny flew out the opening above, wanting to get out as soon as possible.
Though happy to have saved the world sorrow lurked within her, for her mother had lost her life from loosing blood, and her fellow captor, Shard, the third purple dragon, had escaped with her dead body.
Destiny saw the fallen form of her mentor Marie, the last Aura Dragoness, in the center of Dark Spyro’s fallen underlings.
Landing before the aura dragon she let Spyro slide down her back to the ground.
“Marie? Marie wake up! The world is saved!”
The brown eyes of Marie slowly opened to meet Destiny’s light blue ones.
Struggling to her feet the aura dragon looked around, a shockwave of yellow light passing through her as the frozen, grayscale, lands were filled with color; and the void-like sky turning a navy blue.
Marie noted the marking that had been on Destiny’s forehead was missing, obviously from using the light element to save the world, and just in time before Ecclisi ended.
The Aura dragoness looked at the limp form beside the young dragoness.
“Is this him?” she asked.
“Yes, but I found out that Spyro alone wasn’t the cause of the darkness, an internal, evil, spirit who called himself Dark Spyro, was trying to gain control of him, succeeding once Ecclisi was at full eclipse. But I defeated him and sealed him back inside his vessel. Transforming him back into his teen-state before his corruption”
Marie looked at the navy blue sky above, a smile crossing her maw as she took in the beauty that had returned, the beauty that had been forgotten.
“The world is cloaked forever in night
But a dragon can save it with the power of light.” She recited as a blue glow pulsed around her, snaking towards the dragons of Dark Spyro’s fallen army, cleansing them of whatever corruption deep within, some of them returning to younger forms.
Groaning was heard Spyro awoke.
Lavender pupils met Destiny’s, “You…you’re the Silver Dragon, you’re the one who freed me.” He said weakly, power still drained from his internal battle against himself.
“Yes, my name is Destiny, the Aura Dragoness is Marie.”
“I am sorry for the destruction and pain caused to everyone, I…”
“It’s alright, you couldn’t control what had happened to you. Dark Spyro was strong, overpowering your strength during Eclissi”
Spyro looked around “It’s been so long since I have seen the world in this state. All I saw was darkness.”
Destiny smiled and spoke, “remember, Spyro, in all darkness there is light.”
Spyro got to his feet, struggling to do so in his weakened state.
Destiny helped the purple dragon as he walked towards Cynder who, like him, had returned to her original teen stage.
“Cynder?” Spyro questioned as he nudged the dark dragoness, “Cynder I’m sorry, I’m so sorry for what I did, I‘m sorry to all of you.”
Cynder opened her eyes slowly, looking into the lavender pupils of her love. “I forgive you, Spyro.” She said nuzzling the purple dragon before her.
Spyro turned to Marie and Destiny, a smile crossing his maw, “from this moment and on, I shall fix the problems Dark Spyro created.”
Marie smiled at Spyro with a nod, brown eyes showing acceptance. “Before you begin, Spyro, there s someone who I’m sure you’d love to see again… The Chronicler.”
Spyro’s eyes lit up with his returned childish curiosity. The Chronicler… I haven’t seen him in generations!”
“Cynder, would you love to come as well? The others will not wake up for another day.” Marie said in a question and fact.
Taking to the skies the four dragons flew over the ocean towards the familiar landmass of the White Isles.
Landing on the ground Destiny sighed, “home, sweet home.” She said quietly as she looked around the place she had grown up in.
Entering the tell-tale study of the Chronicler Spyro and Cynder looked around, memories of this place returning to Spyro’s now-clear mind.
“It has been quite awhile since we’ve seen each other, young dragons.” A wise voice came from behind them.
Spyro was the first to talk, eyes filling with tears before he turned around, “Ignitus!” He cried running to the teal dragon before him, embracing him in a hug. “Ignitus I thought…I thought you had died.”
Ignitus smiled, “did you really think the master of fire would perish in it?” He questioned before looking up.
“Destiny, you have done more then what is expected of a dragon your age. The world thanks you for your heroics.”
Destiny smiled, happy about her accomplishment.
There was silence until Marie spoke, “Ignitus, though I’ve lived here with you for as long as I can remember, I’d like to go with Spyro and Cynder to the main land, maybe even find more of my kind. I’ll be sure to visit you when I have the chance to.”
Ignitus nodded, “Marie you have been great company and help to me, I thank you for that. If you wish to leave I'm not going to stop you.”
“You are welcome Ignitus.” Marie replied, "And thanks for letting me stay with you all this time."
Having said farewell to Ignitus the quadrant of dragons departed, heading back to the mainland as the sun began to rise behind them.
The world had been returned to it's beautiful state, peace once more filling the lands.
Hope you enjoyed that chapter

Next up, the Epilogue and maybe a post of deleted scenes and secrets not revealed.
~
I figured that Dark Spyro was like corruption and, like what happened when Cynder was corrupted, forced Spyro into an adult, transfering the corruption to other dragons (including Cynder) and doing the same to some of them.
Marie, being an Aura Dragon, has the power to cleanse corruption and since Dark Spyro was gone, so was a lot of his follower's corruption, making it easier for Marie to completely cleanse what was left of it.
I also couldn't resist having Spyro and Ignitus reunite, the scene was just perfect but I don't think I made it as emotional as I had planned.
And yes, Heather died of blood-loss, Shard leaving somewhere else with her dead body.
