Some members do not know their TVs, or about how some color schemes work in game consoles considering that the main character originally had to have his colors changed because of console problems! D:

I have a theory.

In ANB cynder was grayish black.

In TEN she was black

in DOTD shes purple

I think maybe because the DM was a purple dragon it affected her colour

as far as i'm concerned, that's saying something.....

She's wind colour (or whatever element she has) is what I think

Just because she's slightly purple she's not quite the same. It's only spyro's shade of purple that are special. Or it's something to do with DM influence.

Or it could just be that the console sucks at producing deep blacks that's she supposed to have and they did the best with what they had...

Maybe its because she's not corrupted by darkness anymore? I think that after a long time, the corruption from Malefor disappeared and showed her true colors. That's my Theory

Cynder is a Black Dragon. That is also clearly stated on the Valley of Avalar lever, when we get to talk to the Hermit.

Its light purple or the lightest shade of black known to man.

It's a not-so-deep-black for the sake of HDTV because HDTV can not display deep blacks. =/

I think she was a grey dragon before Malefor corrupted her. :P

Cynder is not purple. Yeah she sort of has a purplish tint to her scales but its really black. It's just because of all the landscapes around her.

Cynder is black, even the characters in the game say so. If she looks purple it is a trick of the lighting or you need to adjust your tv.

afew times in the game she dose appear to be purple but maybe thats because of the sunlight...

The way I saw it, it was like this (but this is what I think).

ANB
Art: Some are black and some are dark grey.
In game: Dark grey.
Cut scenes: Black.

TEN
Art: Very dark bluely purply colour.
In game: Very dark grey (almost black).
Cut scenes: Dark grey.

DotD
Art: Dark blue purple.
In game: Dark blue purple.
Cut scenes: Dark blue purple

I have always wondered why they made her purple it is so odd that they would do that.

She LOOKS purple...that doesnt make her purple...it has to do with light.

I've looked at DotD Cynder on at least three different monitors and I've been tested for color blindness (I see colors excellently) and she's an iridescent blue. The purple you see has to do with the lighting in the areas she's in.

Still don't think she's black. I don't think those dragons naturally exist.

Of course not. She was corrupted by darkness and that's what made her black (the Hermit even says she was black).

Then tell me why her egg was BLACK at the start then? She is a black dragon and in DOTD she just looks purple because off the light. If she was purple, then they would off said something by now.

And people, I do /not/ think she's a purple dragon. I know she's supposed to be black, all I said was that they made her look purple. xD

is a fire dragon her exposure 2 darkness gave her wind powers if she had hatched normally she would b a red fire dragon like

I recently adjusted my TV's color. I was watching Xiaolin Showdown, And there was too much red. So I turned it down. And forgot to turn it back up.

Then When I played DotD, Cynder was Jet Black. She looks so awesome. And everything looked better too. Now I'm keeping the setting. But some stuff dosn't look right anymore.

LOL! I was playing 2 player with dad on DotD yesterday, and I was Cynder and he was Spyro. Dad got confused and said: "Which one am I?" and I said
"The purple one, silly!" And he said
"They're both purple!" and I looked, and it did look like she's purple! When I looked at Spyro, he was PINK!!! So I said: "Fine your playing the pink one!" LOL!!!

Next time, try wing color. Maybe that'll help.

I played with my mom a little. She couldn't tell the difference either. So I went into a completed game, And I told her, Your the one with the gold butt plate.

(I was playing Cynder at the time.)
I think Spyro is better for the greenhorn gameplayers. Larger health bar in endgame, Or while playing in my case.
