People accepted the redesigns a long time ago. They were just shocking when they were unveiled, partly because the initial renders did not do them justice.

I personally think Knuckles looks great in particular. I like how he now has the build to go with his strength.

I don't like the lack of a neck on Knuckles, it just looks strange. It's as if they took original Knuckles' head and plopped it onto a generic tough guys body.

Plus, I've actually liked a lot of Sonic games that people generally didn't. I've also STRONGLY disliked a lot of Mario games that most people think are unhateable. Truth be told, I generally don't listen to people anymore cause generally I'm told not to get a game sometimes, and I often get it anyway and end up liking it, while I get so many games people tell me are the most amazing thing ever, and I can't stand playing them despite the praise.

Not really, no. I'm just sick and tired of people who feel the need to shove their hate in everyone's face like "OMG this game sucks so much, you just HAVE to know this through countless number of comments and jokes about how awful Sonic the Hedgehog is."

No, I actually haven't bought it OR pre-ordered it at all. I think you're just looking for a reason to be a jerk because, really, I'm not butthurt. To be honest, I'm not that big of a fan of Sonic The Hedgehog, but I'm still annoyed by people who have to spread their hate like it's law. I was annoyed with Twilight haters for the same reason. ...And I don't like Twilight at all.
