why the heck would you want to hack someone's account on this site.

it makes absolute no sense.

They had to do it! When someone puts their password on a Public Forum then they are just asking to be hacked! Gosh you people need to learn how to have fun! >_>

I have lost ALL respect for literally EVERYONE who hacked gnarly. Just because the kid made the huge mistake of posting his password, doesn't mean they had to be assholes about it and totally exploit him.

Be decent human beings, guys. I expected much better from you all. I know some of the hackers were my friends, and I respected them, but honestly they should be banned for this.

It's common sense and general forum behavior to not give your password away to other people. Steam constantly has "never share your password with other users" plastered in chat windows before you even begin talking to another user. It can technically count as breaking the "only be one person" rule, and in the past some users have used other people's accounts to get around a suspension or ban.

EDIT: It's not hacking if the person willingly gave you their password.

What CAV said.

The definition of hack/hacking is:

1.Cut with rough or heavy blows

2.Gain unauthorized access to data in a system or computer

If a person willingly gives away their password is not hacking.

I just repeated CAV.

Thank you. I can see why everybody was gnorced, but it was all gnarly's fault. Gnarly willingly gave his password away, fully expecting to be hacked and get his account messed up and there you go.

gnarly needs to be banned for his own safety. He's already given his address, name, picture, password. I don't doubt that his phone number will be next.

True, but that doesn't excuse the fact that 8 users took the immature route and didn't report it or warned gnarly about it.

though I'll agree with you on that, hacking probably isn't the best word to use with this mess.

Doesn't mean you should be immature and log into his account.

The best thing to do was to report the post.

And yeah, he definetley needs to ripto'd for his own safety, since he's practically given out almost all of his personal info.

I'm not going to say that they are right for what they did, but at the same time there is absolutely no surprise whatsoever. If you throw your password out there, some people are going to go into your account and cause trouble or act like a fool. You shouldn't trust other people with your account.

If I was to sit here and share my password publicly, there is no doubt that at least 5 people would take advantage of that and mess around using my account. It's expected, and it's common sense not to give that password out for that very reason.

Shame on the people who went into his account... Sure, Gnarly posted his password for everyone to see, but isn't that kid only like, 12 or something years old? I doubt he knew EXACTLY what older people were going to do when they got a hold of his account. This is bullying. And I have no respect for people who bully others. Immature people who take advantage of a kid and rape his account for the fun of it? No... People should have just left everything alone, reported the post that had his password, and then the only one who would have gotten Gnorc'd would had been Gnarly, and maybe for only a day or two.
But what do I know? I'm a Red Sparx.... People don't listen to me... Ignore me...

When you're talking about something that has been used in an abusive way and taken. Nvm I shouldn't have chosen that term. My apologies.

Well the whole gnorc'd and ripto'd thing is that gnarly gave away his password. That was his big mistake. And they didn't TECHNICALLY hack because gnarly gave his password. Also, the people who "hacked" his account didn't cause any permanent damage. Everything they did could've easily been changed back to normal.

Sure gnarly was an idiot for giving out his password, but it's common decency not to take over his account because of that. If you find the key to someone's house you don't go 'Oh, they left their key, it's my duty to burgle their house' you give the key back like a decent human being.
